Absolutely not. Only time I'll eat soup is if I'm sick. As for stew, depends on what kind and what's being put in it.

More or less.
In the good way or the bad way?
Bad. I can't stand soup (but I do force myself to eat it especially when I'm sick).

At 1st I almost didn't get it. The comparison just wasn't clicking (especially because I never watched Pokemon. Only an episode or 2) but I suppose it does sound a little similar (just a little) but they really have nothing in common. Burori already covered everything so I won't echo what's been already stated.
I actually think that he clashes of style in game-play is what could make this game a lot of fun. As long as they let you control Street Fighter players with the standard SF special moves/controls and Tekken characters with the standard Tekken combo moves/controls this could really be a fun and interesting game. If it ends up being SF vs Tekken with straight SF controls and Tekkn vs SF with straight Tekken controls then I think I may pass.
I don't know. From what IGN and sites similar to it are saying this version will play like Street Fighter 4 and the other version will play like a Tekken game. Either way, it's definately gonna be interesting to see how the final product turns out. We won't see/hear anymore about it for 2 years.
Yeah, I can understand the gameplay thing, and like Kei said that was probably the biggest hurdle when trying to achieve this mash-up. I've barely even heard of Virtua Fighter (actually, I think I've only ever seen that in arcades). I couldn't even name one character from it if my life depended on it, but I understand your perspective. They should do something like ClayFighter vs. Killer Instinct, lol. Probably wouldn't sell as well, or even get the development these titles would because of that, though.
From what I heard Virtua Fighter (mainly Virtua Fighter 4/evolution) is really famous especially since it's so deep. I'm not into fighters (only fighting games I'll really play are capcom and guilty gear/blazblue games) like I used to so I can't really say. The next crossover I think would be interesting would be Guilty Gear vs Soul Calibur. With Guilty Gear's controls. That'd be the only way you can really get me to play a SC game anymore.
Right now I'm playing Persona 3 Portable. (The title is pink in color because I'm playing as the new female character. ) I never actually beat Persona 3, but this one, even with the stuff that it is missing, is a lot of fun. I already beat it once and I'm going back again to beat it and see the other ending. This is actually one of the few games on my list that I've actually beaten. It's even on my shorter list of games I've beaten and want to play again. However, if anyone wants to play this and you're going to choose the original character, I would get the PS2 version if you can find it.
I've never played the Persona games but I have played like the first 10 minutes of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, and from what I gather of it, it's similar to Dragon Quest 8 where it forces you to use Buffs and Debuffs. They're my kind of RPG's but the main thing that's keeping me away from Persona 3 is the thought of not being able to control my other party members. What's keeping me away from 3 and 4 is the drawn out dungeons. I watched a couple of videos and it just seem like it takes forever to get through a dungeon. I don't recall having to walk that long in Nocturne, but I also stopped playing early so yeah lol. What's keeping me from playing all SMT games is my conscience lol. I'm a church guy (christian) and the thought of teamming up with Lucifer just rubs me the wrong way lol. I'm trying to get over it but lol, so far no good. I haven't been playing anything at the moment, although I could continue on my Devil May Cry 3 run as well as my God of War 2 run considering all the stress that's been building up from school. I'm thinking about what game I'm gonna buy for the DS though. Not sure yet.

G Gundam... That was such a corny series (This hand of mine shines and roars/is burning red) but it was a fun series despite me not being much of a fan of mecha. It's hard for me to call G Gundam underrated these days because it definately seems to be going through a resurgence especially at this other site I go to. Kind of makes you wish folk would shut up about it (mecha in general). If you'd ask me back in the days when it was on Toonami I'd probably say it was underrated, but then again it was the only Gundam I was familiar with back then. Now is no different outside of being familiar with Gundam 00. Anyway, Hunter x Hunter is underrated. It's kind of hard for me to understand how people could like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece but not decide to check out HxH. I won't lie, it starts off very slow (about as slow as Yu Yu Hakusho), but once it picks up it picks up big time. It's a thinking series in a sense. I love it when characters use their heads while fighting because nowadays watching people just rush in to fight either bore me or pisses me off. Hunter x Hunter is refreshing because of this one thing alone. The other strong point it has is the characterization. Sure Gon is your typical shonen protagonist, but he has some type of charm to him that makes me like him instead of all the other airheaded/knucklehead protagonists. As I was saying the characterization is strong. The way each character interacts with each other is similar to that of Yu Yu Hakusho. (None of that phony stuff like I'm fighting for the sake of my friend, or I must get stronger for the sake of my friend.. Kill that noise.. This is what makes One Piece characterization strong as well) There's no reliance on one character either, which so many shonen series is falling into these days. Everyone can fend for themselves (at least as far as I've seen so far)

I'm not really sure why I picked this specific member of the Guinyu Force, but I remember back when I was younger my cousin and I harbored this unusually deep hatred for Zarbon. I guess it was because he acted like he was better than everyone else on the force, but he was just as horrible.
Just a minor correction. Zarbon was never part of the Ginyu Force.
If I had to pick the best shounen action series ever made, I would choose either Yu Yu Hakusho or Hunter x Hunter (both of which, incidentally, were created by the ingenious Yoshihiro Togashi). Anyway, I've seen up to episode 25, and I plan on watching the rest of the TV series pretty soon... there are a bunch of OVAs, but those come later.
And I'd say you were definately on the right track with that one. I'm slightly bias towards Rurouni Kenshin because I just favor samurai's and sword fighting, but if it wasn't for that then yes I'd definately say Hunter x Hunter is the best (only 2nd to Yu Yu Hakusho). I'm on episode 31 and have completely fallen for the series even though it has a very slow start. The very fact that just about every fight is handled like it's one of Kurama's fights just makes this series an entirely different beast in itself. The only other shonen series where there's a lot of thinking is involved is Psyren (This is the best shonen series here. This series needs to hurry up and get animated) and that hasn't been animated. Anyway I've given up on this series once before because, for some reason it just has this old look. I'm into flashy colors these days and with HxH's dull colors it made it hard to get into back then, but I finally saw a couple of fights and I'm completely hooked. As it's been stated the character interaction is strong. Kurapica and Leorio's relationship reminds me of Hiei and Kuwabara's relationship, but I do find Leorio to be on the annoying side. He means well but sometimes I just wish the guy would shut it. Killua is by far my favorite of the bunch though. You really can't beat a personality like his lol. Gon has that trait I can't stand to see in shonen protagonists (underdog and airheaded), but he has some charm to him that makes him very likable. Kurapica is Kurapica lol. Great character. The only 1 character in this series I can't stand is Tompa and while I know it's mean and evil but I was hoping he'd die or something. Hisoka and Illumi (sp?) are some fascinating villains. I wish other shonen fans would give this series a chance. I find it to be better than the big 3.. (That's the 4th series I found to be better than the big 3)

White, is Ryuk really a villain? I never considered him a villain because he was neither with or against Light. If anything I considered him to be more of a neutral character. Anyway... Hisoka - Hunter x Hunter Ruthless and honorable (in his own twisted fashion I guess lol).
I'm not sure what you mean by you didn't see it coming, but I think it's more about time and I'm surprised this game was never created sooner. SF and Tekken were always two of the bigger names when it came to martial-arts-related fighting games. Mortal Kombat is up there, but I'd sooner compare SF and Tekken than I would MK. SF vs. Tekken, to me, is on par with Marvel vs. Capcom in how obvious the match-up should be ... yet the latter has what ... 2 titles out now with a third in the making? Either way, I probably won't be checking it out, simply because fighting games tend to get old really fast with me, but it's nice to see these two titles finally getting their mash-up.
I never imagined a SF and Tekken crossover because of the style of gameplay. They just didn't seem to go hand and hand to me. If anything I would expect a Virtua Fighter and Tekken crossover before a SF and Tekken crossover. "shrugs"

Anime Series you never thought you'd love but wound up loving anyway.
Magus replied to The Tentacle's topic in Otaku Central
I've thought about doing a thread like this once before (along with the opposite take as well) but never got around to do it. One Piece - Let's be honest, it's a very ugly series. Yes it has it's moments where stuff can look good, mainly the facial expression/features (except when people cry) but the general premise of the artwork is ugly. And given how I'm all about artwork (first I'm action, then art/animation, then characters) I was throwing this to the side like crazy. Giving the manga a shot I've become a fan of the series mainly because of the characterization. It's really strong compared to other series I've seen in the shonen series. Hajime no Ippo - If there's a series with stronger characterization than One Piece it's this one. (Gungrave as well as Yu Yu Hakusho tops OP though, but they're old stuff) I don't care for the sports genre when it comes to anime because a lot of times it just don't seem like it can really do much of anything for me. But given how HnI is action heavy I thought I'd give it a shot. I also didn't think I'd like it because of the old-ish look to it, but that didn't hamper the animation down one bit because movements are nice and smooth though they can repeat a few times. New Challenger almost made me hate the whole series for being so crummy on how Ippo was builded up only to turn out to be so crappy in that one. -
There are 2 versions of the game coming out. Street Fighter vs Tekken and Tekken vs Street Fighter. Street Fighter vs Tekken seems like it's going to be like the Street Fighter games while Tekken vs Street Fighter will be like the Tekken games. http://www.hadoken.net/?p=1886&cpage=1 I never saw this one coming, and personally I'm not thrilled about it either mainly because I'm not a fan of the Tekken series (anymore), but if the SF vs T will be similar to that of the Street Fighter games (mainly 4) then I will definately be onboard with that version. Edit: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3180566 (Has gameplay footage) I WANT IT
I know I should know that word as well, but I'm lost on the meaning (and pronounciation,) of tsundere. It's a person you shouldn't mess with I think?
Let's not start with pronounciations lol. When it comes to pronouncing I'm way off lol. I use the whole sounding it out method only to find that it sounds completely different. "Ichigo". Itch-ee-go was what I was saying when I first came into Bleach (I still say his name that way) only to hear that it's supposed to be Ee-chee-go. Same with Hajime no Ippo. There's a character in it by the name of Jones and it's being pronounced as Jo-nez... Weird stuff.
[fond=Garamond]Again, you can't say you didn't watch less than manly anime, HC.... there has to be some secret Tsundere crush you have
You can't compare everyone to yourself you know. Not everyone started out following anime in their teens (Outside of DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh and Rurouni Kenshin...) Then again, that's probably just me. Tsundere... I know I've seen that word a couple of times, yet I don't know what it means.

Even being did in like that I still wouldn't say Ukitake and Shunsui are weak. It's because of Wonderweiss nature that Ukitake was did in the way he was. You do not expect people like him to that strong, or fast. Element of surprise does not equal weak. As far as the top 3 and Byakuya and Kenpachi. Halibel against Kenpachi/Byakuya, I'd definately go with either Byakuya or Kenpachi given how Toshiro can keep up. (And I just don't see him being able to keep up with Byakuya or Kenpachi) Stark and Barragan against Kenpach/Byakuya, all bets are off. I don't want to go into spoiler territory until most of the fights with the espada are done. But I'll say this much for now. Barragan's ability is too much for Byakuya. I like Byakuya just as much as the next person, and anyone that knows me will tell you how much of a fan I am of his. Barry has proven that Kido can age, and I'm pretty sure that Senbonzakura (all zanpaktuo for that matter) is no different. And Kenpachi will rot charging at him like he'd do other battles. The big ? is if Kenpachi or Byakuya can keep up with Ulquiorra? And to be honest, that's a big no (which even gives me less hope of them being able to touch the top 2)

More DBZKai. Err... I'm not feeling this at all. The script is better in Kai for sure, but the epic feel that DBZ had is nowhere to be found. Part of this seems to be because of Faulkoner's tunes aren't there. This fight between Goku and Ginyu felt so bland without that music, especially when Goku begins to powerup. And during that same scene Ginyu's V/A sounded like he was either trying to force it or overacting and just threw that entire powerup off. So I'm gonna call it quits here. I'll check it out once more when Goku begins to fight Freiza (sp?), but I won't be sticking with it. I started watching Hajime no Ippo again as well. Despite my feelings about New Challenger (I'm echoing myself) I still think it's a great series. Ippo is a great character (I hate that he was practically turned into some mentor in NC and didn't go after Ricardo or Miyata) along with everyone else. Favorite characters are still Miyata and Sendo. Ippo (or rather HnI in general) can be a great motivator to get one back into working out lol.

Decided to go with a new thread afterall. Avatar: The Legend of Korra If Korra is looking anything like her concept art then I'll definately be onboard. I didn't care much for Aang until the last 4 episodes, and looking at that concept art of Korra makes me think she's one of those strong female types. (Balsa and/or The Major) I'm actually a little surprised no one is really talking about this. Anyway, your thoughts?

Can't say I'm fan of the Ginyu Force. I'm not into the cheesiness. All the posing..... I chuckled back then because of my brother's reaction but seeing it now is just way too corny.

Manga U.S. & Japan Bring Down the Banhammer on Pirates
Magus replied to Kei's topic in Otaku Central
I won't deny that this affects me as well but at the same time I'm not really phased at all. While I don't buy manga, this will supposedly keep me from comparing anime to manga (setting myself up for disappointment). -
1up is confirming both Thor and Amaterasu as playable characters and I'm pretty upset about it. While I'm okay with Thor being in the game, I just don't like the idea of Amaterasu being in it. It's bad enough I can't stand fighting short people. (I just play horrible against them) Now I have to fight a 4-legged creature that just might be able to duck under almost any and every attack.

Manga U.S. & Japan Bring Down the Banhammer on Pirates
Magus replied to Kei's topic in Otaku Central
"There is an end to everything, to good things as well." It pains me to announce that this is the last week of manga reading on One Manga (!!). Manga publishers have recently changed their stance on manga scanlations and made it clear that they no longer approve of it. We have decided to abide by their wishes, and remove all manga content (regardless of licensing status) from the site. The removal of content will happen gradually (so you can at least finish some of the outstanding reading you have), but we expect all content to be gone by early next week (RIP OM July 2010). So what next? We're not really sure at this point, but we have some ideas we would like to try out. Until then, the One Manga forums will remain active and we encourage all of you to continue using them. OMF has developed into a great community and it would be a shame to see that disappear. You can also show us some love in this moment of sadness by 'liking' our brand new Facebook page. It would be nice to see just how many of you came to enjoy our 'better than peanut butter and jelly' invention.
And there goes One Manga. That kind of makes me curious about who're the other sites. -
Ah.. Then yes I'm a moe hater, but I wouldn't say they piss me off. I just stay away from them.
