Awww.... After trying to get on this computer for so long, I missed out on stuff.... Stupid computer.. I swear when I get my laptop I'm throwing this thing off my roof. Random thought.. Can mods give other mods infractions? I never tried it when I was a mod.. "coughs"

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (ps2) I need subsistence badly. Anyway, I'm doing a no alert run and so far I've only been spotted twice while doing this... Seeing how I'm not really all that confident in my ability of being stealthy I've been doing this on Very Easy lol. I finally managed to fight The End and go for the tranq route, and finally got both the Moss Camo and Mosin Nagant.... I was actually surprised he'd give me the camo on the hold up though considering I've been hearing that you might have to catch him 3 times... Anyway, I'm anxious to see this gun in action as well as seeing if this camo is any good. Next up is trying to fight The Boss using CQC. (Again, no confidence in my abilitiy to do that either lol) Devil May Cry 3: Dantes Awakening (ps2) Finally decided to tackle normal.... Probably a bad idea since it's been so long since I've played this game. While I feel really rusty, I still got it, but I suck at the same time lol. I wanna do the fancy combos, I guess that's why I'm trying this on normal now. I really want to play DMC4 again, but this one will have to do.... (at the very least, I need to get the special edition again so I can play as Vergil) Made it to the 3rd chapter.. Like I said, I suck considering how much damage I've been taking.. Even the weaker monsters are hitting me. I gotta get used to trickster and swordmaster again. God of War 2 (ps2) I kind of forgot where I left off.. I think I'm a little bit pass the part where you cross a giant chain (With the 3 horse statues), right after fighting the boss battle. Haven't decided to tackle normal here yet.
Thank you for the info Magus. From what you tell me its no worse then Pima at the moment. At Pima, they don't give you nothing. It all comes out out of your own pocket. Their financial aid is not reliable either. I have heard mixed feelings about ITT Tech. Some as yourself, have had horrible experiences with it and others have had great experiences. One of my dads friends just graduated from ITT Tech Drafting and Design section and said it was the best, far better then the U of A. (It is recent they have cut the Graphics Programs) I even talked to consular at the U of A and they point me there instead of going to Phoenix. I'm still looking for other options right now. Arizona doesn't have even a good school system whether its basic k-12 or higher education.
Wow, it gotta be because of my location then. Like I said though, I was suckered into Drafting and Design... I had no idea that they were removing multimedia until I got into my fourth quarter and I was never told about visual communications until I transferred over to my current location. I guess I'm so disappointed because all of our work has been nothing but architectural (I hardly have any interest). Barely touched mechanical and haven't had the multimedia side of it... (Orientation, we were told that we'd take a bit of each) Now I'm in my 7th quarter (1 quarter left and then I can do away with this school) and being introduced to a new program where I can design cars in gives me some hope.

Wow, the last thing talked about were those fillers.... I'm only going to talk about the Ulquiorra and Ichigo fight since nothing else really matters... That was Bleach's best fight to date. In terms of animation and artwork, along with the emotion thrown in as well. I have to admit that while I didn't care for neither Ulquiorra or Ichigo's transformations they did look more sinister in the anime compared to the manga. While it don't really bother me, I gotta wonder why the
edit of Uryu's arm
considering there've been far worst things. Stark and Shunsui's fight has been disappointing and funny...

There's gotta be a simplier method than actually searching for threads since the forum only gives you so many pages before cutting off. I tried looking for a board settings type of thing where you can it go back to the beginning but couldn't find anything like that... Boy I sure do miss those thread directories

Mama wars. Grammar wars.... What's next? This heat is ridiculous... Pisses me off. Gotta put up with these 90's for 2 more days... "RAGE"

What college do you attend? What are you studying? Do you live on campus? -ITT Tech -Computer Drafting and Design (I WAS SUCKERED) -Unfortunately they don't do that stuff Cat, I don't want to scare you or anything, but if you do decide to go to ITT be very cautious. They don't tell you everything nor give you the supplies that's required.... Then again, that's pretty much for my program though. (I hear there's a lot of writing for a Bachelor's program) For $42,000 all I got was a hand drafting kit that was used only one quarter when all of our work is done on the computer... If you have a large class and you need help go to tutoring immediately, but then again I have a bunch of whiners in my class and the instructor's pretty much go to them for the most part. I don't say anything because everything I want to say is not pretty and I will get kicked out.. "coughs" ITT is more of a last resort type of school imo. I couldn't recommend people to go there but then again it's probably just my location.

Again, I can't find any shorter clips... Fast forward to about 4:29-4:30 "I'll send you to the deepest pits of hell. While your there you can lick the devils ###, Incognito". And in terms of manliness, I think I can find something better (then again, I am bias because I don't care for Gurren Lagann) I was trying to find Shining Finger, but that'll do since the voice actor for Domon is epic (even though those lines are very corny :D) "This hand of mine shines and ROARS"... I think it was Dragon Gundam vs Volt/Bolt Gundam where that really sounded epic.... Dangit, I wanna watch that again... That's about the only gundam series I can really get into.

With the 3DS bringing back some oldies, now seems like a good time to revive this thread. Seeing how Metal Gear Solid 3, Star Fox and Zelda all look colorful on this little thingamabob, I'd like to see Chrono Trigger and both Final Fantasy 7 and 8 be done on it. I don't know if you can get any more color out of Chrono Trigger seeing that it's full of life, but if there's a chance it can be done then I'd like to see it brought back. Final Fantasy 7 needs to do away with the lego/blocky look. I'd really get more enjoyment out of it then. And FF8, just because.... lol.

Err... Playing catch up here. Ep. 165 Truthfully, my beef with the latest 3 episodes is the animation. (I'm an artwork/animation buff. I care for animation/art far more than story) I know it should be excused because it is shonen, but I just can't stand inconsistency. I think from the time Hidan and Kakuzu appeared all the way up to Sasuke and Bee's fight the animation have been nothing short of amazing. Then here we have this fight between Naruto and Pein turning out to be lackluster. (Truthfully, everything took a dive as soon as this invasion started... I was expecting some great stuff between Kakashi and Pein) Eps. 166-167 The fighting was good, but it was hard for me to really enjoy it because the art was horrible. This was like looking at that Sasuke vs Naruto fight where Naruto looked like he was supposed to be a missle or something. Hideous character models... yuck. This is what causes me to drop series (when excessive fans don't cause me to drop it first). But don't get me wrong, despite the horrible animation and hideous character models I still enjoyed the 2 episodes. Pein proved that he was that deal and continues to be my 2nd favorite character in this series. (No ones topping Itachi) I practically laughed everytime Hinata was getting blown away (I know. As wrong/evil as that sound, I can't help it. I thought it was funny) Hopefully animators get their act together for some of the later fights, particularly the one coming up soon.

Finished up Metal Gear Solid 2 on normal. I was so disappointed to find out that I still ended up unlocking the digital camera in the end... All that hardwork I put into playing this game and only get a camera for my efforts. I even died quite a few times in the process. Died while fighting them Metal Gears, almost died during that big shootout with Snake "supposedly" watching my back.... He was not tossing out the items I wanted/needed... (AK and M4 bullets) I died while fighting Solidus because I fell off the building... I hate fighting with the sword... I deserve a better reward than a camera dangit... Anyway, now that that's over, I've decided to continue my run on Metal Gear Solid 3 now... I'm going around shooting all the Kerotan frogs... The strategy guide cheated in leaving some out. I've been contemplating on selling/trading some of my games for Subsistence since I cherish that camera and I like the demo theater. I'm getting ready to fight Volgin soon. Just checking out some videos of people beating him non-lethally. (I had no idea you can use CQC on him) After I finish this I'm going to either start playing God of War 2 or Devil May Cry 3.. (Might be both)

Link
Considering its confirmed lack of presence at this year's E3, we were pretty much expecting a long summer of waiting until a new Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer of some kind to be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show this coming September (16th to 19th), however, the Japanese press this week have managed to get their grubby hands on new pictures from the game, as well as an interview from its director Tetsuya Nomura, as well as some comments on the game's soundtrack by composer Yoko Shimomura. Before showing the scan we have, I'd like to point out that all three shots used in the magazine run on the in-game graphics engine, and is actually currently running perfectly on Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) hardware. The two pictures on the left are taken from exploration sequences, whilst the bigger picture on the right comes from a battle sequence, and I'll go into more detail about all this after the scan. The screenshots themselves have been doctored by Square Enix to hide anything they don't want showing yet, for example the exploration screenshots have had a form of HUD removed that features Noct's head. More details on other edits further on after the scan. So, first of all the bad news. Nomura has confirmed, following rumours a the beginning of the year, that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will feature no world map, as originally promised. Whilst a world map/overworld system had originally been planned, and even programmed, in the long run the director felt that the switch to an overworld with a "little Noct" running around just didn't feel right with the rest of the game, and so its been replaced with huge explorable "linking locations" similar to those used in Final Fantasy XII. These locations are supposedly incredibly vast and you can explore every inch of them, and there's even destructables for Noct to hack at on the way. Using the first screenshot as an example, Nomura explained how you can visit every part you can see on that landscape, other than climbing the mountains in the background, which act as the location's border. He even points out that you can climb onto the roof of the service station in the second screenshot, just because you should be able to in real life! He also states that that "dusty landscape" is actually a/the road out of the city resembling Shinjuku in Tokyo, which has been the focus of much of the game's released screenshots so far, and that following that road leads to the gas station you see in the second screenshot, and which eventually leads to the sunken roadway we saw in the last trailer revealed way back when in the mists of time. Nomura uses this to explain that what we've seen of the locations so far all come from the opening sections of the game, a similar strategy employed by press releases for Final Fantasy XIII which nearly all covered the opening Chapter of the game. On the battle screenshot, Noct is fighting a Behemoth-style creature (whether a "generic" Behemoth, or just a member of the Behemoth family hasn't been specified yet), and this is a pure picture taken from the game's battle sequence, and is indicative of what things look like. The battle menu has been edited out, however, as they're not yet revealing aspects of how the system works, and whilst Noct is usually accompanied by partners in battle, they haven't been pictured here as their weapons and clothing haven't been shown in the press yet. The Behemoth shown in the battle screen is apparently a monster who's been harnessed for military purposes, which has led me to wonder whether the aspect of featuring "feral creatures" as well as technologically enhanced monsters like in Final Fantasy XIII could be making its way into its other-universe-counterpart. Tetsuya Nomura also points out that this paticular Behemoth has a blade on its back, possibly a hint to the fact that it may be able to use it to attack with? This could also be something taken from Final Fantasy XIII, as the Behemoth-class of Final Fantasy XIII may stand up and pull out a blade-like weapon when they lose half of their HP, though sword-wielding Behemoths did first appear in Final Fantasy XII. A technical point to make now is that the clouds and lighting effects of Versus XIII are generated on-the-fly by the engine, and that this process has allowed them to generate incredibly real-looking clusters of clouds that change and move as you watch them. And speaking of the lighting effects, locations of the game have been designed with specific colour-palettes and lighting effects to really try and give Versus XIII the feel of a "road movie". This may be just conjecture, but it seems as if the Fabula Nova Crystallis -Final Fantasy XIII- is being influenced a lot by media other than video games. Whilst Nomura is asserting the road movie feel of this game, Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama recently talked about how serialised dramas, particularly American ones influenced the storytelling of his game, specifically citing Lost as a major source of inspiration in its mixed use of flashbacks to explain present-day events. Returning to battle information, although we already knew that the game would be more action-oriented like Nomura's Kingdom Hearts series, this is confirmed once more as he states that there are no transitions from normal "walkabout" sequences and battles. Nomura also went on to speak about how you will be able to see some monsters on the map as it is, thus allowing you to try and avoid them should you not wish to fight them, but there will also be instances where monsters will surprise you by suddenly appearing out of nowhere, which in effect is a sort of simulation that will probably feel much like the random encounter battles of the older Final Fantasy games. I mentioned battle transitions above, and this is something is Nomura talked about during his interview. The development team are trying to make transitions as seamless as possible in Versus XIII, and so far whilst there is a bit of lag between in-game sequences and pre-rendered sequences (which they're currently working on reducing), in-game transitions are much fluider, with the only real transitions happening when you move from one major area to another. Finally, a brief blurb came from the game's composer Yoko Shimomura, who is probably most known to people for her work on the Kingdom Hearts series. She commented that she hasn't actually started real work on the game's composition yet, and that she's currently at the stage where she's discussing what kinds of themes the game will need, and as a result she's conferring with her team as to the direction and style the soundtrack should go in. This hints that the game would seemingly still have quite a while to go before we get to consider a release date for it. Speaking of music, I'd like to point out a little something I noticed. The one track we've heard for this game, used in its trailers, is called Somnus, which is Latin for "sleep", the game's logo features someone apparently sleeping, and in the scan above, on the right-hand side of the battle screenshot, you can see that the street is named "West Insomnia", with insomnia of course being a condition in which one finds it hard/impossible to sleep. Thats three very prominant references to sleep so far, although of course I could just be overthinking a wee bit. Final Fantasy Versus XIII so far has no projected release date, but with the current state of development as we know it, particularly its music section, I would estimate that late-2011 would seem the earliest possible release date for Japan.
This is the Final Fantasy I've been waiting for. Nothing against FFXIII (if I can ever get the inspiration to play it I'll definately check it out someday), but I'm hack n slasher's all the way. Thoughts?
I'd like to see the Demon's Souls route, because then they could actually make rupees useful again. Have a few classes of swords, a few axes, etc., and just let us upgrade to our heart's delight. Later on in the game, give us the Master Sword. But make it late in the game. Make it feel like the Master Sword is actually a master of something and not just the weapon you're always going to use. Past few games (TWW included) have fallen into this dungeons1-3>Master Sword>dungeons 4-8 rut and desperately need to break out of it. An upgrade system could go a long way in mitigating that fatigue. Plus our wallets wouldn't be stupidly full all the time! Thankfully, Zelda has a lot more room to improve. So...yeah. I guess to answer your question? I'm ready for an almost complete overhaul. I no longer want to be spoon-fed gear in each dungeon. I'm ready to have next to no tutorials. All that fat that's accumulated on the series over the years? I want it gone. Give me a shitty wooden sword, an empty sack on my shoulder, and a Moblin ready to gore me through the face with a gnarly spear...and I'll be gloriously well-fed.
These two points really do sum up on what I'd like to see from a Zelda game as well. (I just didn't word it right the last time lol) While I'm not familiar with Demon Souls, I do like the idea of upgrading weapons very much. I think this is why I hold games like Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry and God of War (although, GoW still whiffs on the weapons compared to the other 2 imo, but that's for an entirely different reason) on a higher pedestal than the Zelda series. But then again, I'm a combo type of person so I may be bias here. I only enjoyed finding items in dungeons in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. After those 2 I was pretty much done. I've practically stopped playing Twilight Princess altogether now because it felt like it was a "been-their-done-that" type of thing. The beginning of TP, I didn't really find myself enjoying the game until I found the item to go with said dungeon, but that wore off by the time you start finding those mirror pieces (and by that time I was completely bored of it), at least for me that is. So an overhaul is much needed to get me back into this series, at least from a weapon perspective.

I'm curious to know who went to see The Last Airbender? I'm seeing mixed reviews (I don't pay attention to professional critics or whatever) but mainly leaning towards the negative side. I never had any plans on watching it from the getgo, especially because I'm not a fan of Shamalan movies outside of Signs. Is it worse the Dragonball Evolution?
I can't watch it cause they screwed up the over 9000 part. Its completely different besides the it's over 9000, all the build up is different.
Yeah.... I sort of missed that episode. I think the only episode(s) I really caught during the Saiyan saga was the fireball clash and then Vegeta getting hit by the spirit bomb. As for build up, I don't know yet. As far as I know almost all of that build up is suppose to be removed. It's only going to be 100 episodes (or so I've heard... I just don't see how that will be possible especially if it's going up to Buu), so, yeah..

I've been watching Dragonball Z Kai on Nicktoons despite my better judgment, but honestly, this's not as bad as I thought it'd be. The new voices do sound fairly nice, and the dialogue's not attrocious like it used to be. From what I heard so far (I haven't really caught this from the beginning) characters actually sound like they know what they're talking about. However, I do miss Faulkoner's music, but I suppose those themes didn't really kick in till Goku arrived and the sudden Funi voices came about. I still roll my eyes everytime I hear "we need Goku". Back to voices though. The new Frieza (sp?) and Zarbon voices are pretty good, although I do like Paul Dobson as Zarbon (Viz) and Funi's Frieza (I can't remember her name for nothing.... I know she was Genkai) But yeah, I'll keep checking with this whenever I can and hopefully I won't run into anymore excessive/elitist fans.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Magus replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
I have noticed a lot that other channels, (Disney and Nick Toons) Have jumped on the anime rejects band wagon.
Not just those either. StarzEdge/Encore WAM, IFC, Fuse (and Spike with Afro-Samurai) also showed anime. (For the people that always complained about edits, granted I've never had issues with edits) I feel like I'm missing a channel. -
Didn't SyFy use to anime a long time ago, if my memory recollects properly?
So I've heard. The difference between now and then though, is more people are into anime now. It don't necessarily have to be just Syfy though. There were quite a few channels that were airing anime at one point, although, the question would be whether people have those channels or not. -
Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Magus replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Considering what they're doing right now, I'd rather they just get rid of all their anime. It's almost like every new series that gets brought in, a timeslot is lost for something Family Guy-ish... And that's been the trend for quite some time with Adult Swim. Either kill all of it or none of it. This slow progression of offing anime does nothing but get people hot under the collar. I am hearing that the people over adult swim don't care for anime already so.. yeah. Just kill it off and sell it to someone (Syfy) that'll handle anime better. -
Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Magus replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
This is why I think adult swim should just go ahead and oust anime from it's line-up altogether. Sell all the anime they have to another channel or something. Taking anime off to be replaced by these "comedies" does nothing but lessen the likelihood of me tuning into anything at all. (Granted I have nothing against Boondocks at all. It's the only thing I'd actually watch from a comedy standpoint) -
