Another Okami update. I was going to post this in the Okami thread but I didn't think the thread directory was back in check yet. Anyway, I think I'm pretty far in the game. I've reached Kamui and decided to stop there. Had to because that last battle against some guy
that turns into a wolf
took its toll on me. Not to mention I had fought with
Rao as well as the Ninetails
all in one go. (I was never looking for a save point so fast in my life lol) I think I can do a little mini-review (paste later in the Okami thread) from what I've played of it so far. I'll do this in 3 parts (leaving the 3rd part incomplete for obvious reasons) Part 1 I find the journey up to Orochi to be hooking. Learning different brush techniques as well as being introduced to lots of different characters. Speaking of characters, Susano has got to be one of the most annoying characters I've ever ran into
with his cowardice
. But his part of the story was told nicely, I suppose.
I did guess correctly in saying that was him trying to steal Tsukuyomi
(It was pretty obvious though). Waka is also an annoying character. Makes you just want to strangle him. I still have no idea what this guy is up to. But overall, the experience getting to Orochi was really good. The music was great (Still great), the battles were nice (although fairly easy once you figure how things work) and drama was there... I guess lol... Part 2 There are some great twists and turns here, but at the same time a lot of the game has become a little tiresome. It's repeating itself quite a bit. Feeding the animals for praise, restoring nature, finding this and that... Yeah, it's starting to grow thin. I know you don't have to do those things (At least I think you don't have to do some of those things to progress through the story), but still... At least you can skip scenes when feeding animals. (I wish you could skip when gaining a new technique) The difficulty does ramp up a bit. While the fights themselves aren't really all that hard, they are tedious and require a little bit of thinking, or you could be dealing with some long fights (I don't really read the bestiary lol. Just found out they give hints on how to defeat an enemy). But like I said, there are some great twists during the Sei-an part of the game. I was spoiled a little bit beforehand though, but there were quite some unexpected stuff. And then there are some points of the game where you don't have any idea what you're suppose to be doing. Reading the journal didn't help either. I did have Okami in my top favorites for a while, and while it haven't fell off the list completely, it has fallen from the top 3. It just seems far too draggy in some areas. (Mainly right where you think the story could end... I'm almost 60 hours into the game) I also have some other games that my brother-in-law sent to me that I'll be checking out some time or getting the chance to finish. Mana Khemia - I played about maybe 10 minutes of it. Didn't really get to do much of anything but watch a bunch of dialogue. I'm only curious about this one. Gungrave - I hear it plays like Overdose, and I enjoyed Overdose. Dragon Quest 8 - It's been a long time, but I get to finish this game.... ("Finish" is the wrong word to use seeing how I'm only near the beginning of the game) Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 - I'll probably send this back to him since the game don't really work. I'll try to get it buffed to see if that'll help, but it looks like this game is done for. I only wanted it so I can pound on Naruto's face.

Seeing only 2 bankai's was definately the other disappointing part of this arc and to make matters worst one of those bankais was did in off-screen... (Somebody really need to tell Kubo that stuff don't work) The other one was just crappy. Anyway, I didn't really care much for the latest chapter. I really don't understand the point of Isshin stopping to teach Ichigo the final getsuga technique when they were just in a hurry. Isshin was the one rushing and now he wants to stop..... Come on. But then again Aizen is taking his sweet time walking so.....

I did read the chapter ("GASP"), and I did find it interesting. Kushina almost seems more like Sakura (that's not a good thing, btw) with her temper than Naruto. To say Naruto acting like his old self seems more disheartening than satisfying. I definately couldn't stand Naruto back then. If you ask me which version would I prefer I think that'd be the toughest choice I'd ever made since I can't stand either. If anything, I'd much rather see him act like he did back when he was fighting Nagato.

Considering how I used to look for Bleach at CR I have to say it's about time, but after hearing/seeing that CR charges a fee, I have to say "why?"
-
I'm actually a bit surprised this haven't been decided yet. But it's a good thing there's a reset because my last choice was Bleach, but I don't want that anymore lol. And to be honest I don't really know what to vote for now. Most of the series on that list, I wouldn't really consider myself to be a big fan of (or I haven't seen/read them). The one series I would vote but am not willing to do is Death Note because I just don't think Death Note has no life left. There's hardly anything to talk about now that the series is done. I'll wait a bit before casting my vote.

I hate the summer since it leaves me all uncomfortable when trying to sleep. But these days around Detroit it's been rainy and stormy. Glad we got some breaks in. Give our rivers some time go back down a bit.

My computer sucks. Blue screen, blue screen, freeze, blue screen and more blue screen. There's a good chance I won't be posting as must since I don't trust this computer. (Until I get a new computer)

I don't know why I thought that was you that did the coloring tutorial... I'm up here thinking it was just going to be you doing these tutorials lol. Thanks for this. I look forward to seeing more tutorials.

Okami update. I'm 43 hours into the game and I'm just checking out the N Ryoshima Coast. Issun is a perverted little thing lol.. (Rao)
Robin Hood is a great movie. Prince of Persia is as good as Avatar; if you loved Avatar then you'll love this movie, and if not then you won't.
I haven't really had any interest in seeing Robin Hood, but Prince of Persia on the otherhand, I do wanna see mainly because I enjoyed the Pirates of the Carribbean trilogy (although I can do without the 2nd movie), and I saw that the creator is the same guy that did PotC movies. You can kind of tell with the movie effects and whatnot. I haven't seen Avatar yet, but I've been told I wouldn't like it. I know I never had any interest/desire to see it that's for sure.
And I love midnight thunderstorms.
Adrenaline junky?

Aren't Dark Naruto and Kyuubi one in the same? At least that was the impression I was under.

I've only seen awesome dads popping up in this, Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist. I guess you can include Naruto, but he's already dead and gone... And I'd call that moment more of a touching moment more than an epic entrance, but that's probably just me.

Exactly. Ulquiorra revealing that he was ranked #4 was definately the beginning of the overhyping madness. Not to mention hearing/seeing that espadas ranked 4 and up are banned from releasing in Las Noches made it even more convincing that the top 3 would be even more threatening. But to give credit where it's due it did take 3 people and Aizen himself to deal with Halibel, but then again even with Aizen being there I really didn't like Halibel's chances with that fight... (considering all the plotkai that went on during that fight). 2 people for Barragan. 4 for Stark. But I do have Ulquiorra, Grimmjow, and Nnoitra (and possibly Szayael) showing they were up to snuff.

I checked out 8 episodes of Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan. It's not as much action as I thought would be in it. If anything it's similar to Peacemaker with the characters being the strong point. It also seem like it's going to build up into one huge war and that's when we'll see the action break though. Whatever fights that has been shown, while it's nothing spectacular it does put Samurai Deeper Kyo to shame. (That was the last Studio DEEN animation product I've seen) Like I said, it's mainly a character driven series that looks more like all the females will go giddy over because all the males look like those pretty boys that'll get bent out of shape if you mess with their hair or something. But overall it's been a decent experience. It might not be for everyone though. The Summer anime releases looks like it's gonna be crap.

Man, night time thunderstorms can get scary, especially if you have a tornado watch/warning. For the most part it looks like it's done though. "phew"
I admit that all the fights were visually quite nice and exciting from a reader's point of view, it's just that when you go back and look at it in context you realise that had Kenpachi ended up fighting Zommari or Byakuya fighting Szayel that things would've ended very differently for the Shinigami forces in Hueco Mundo. I suppose that fact that none of the Espada, with maybe the exception of Ulquiorra came anywhere near living up to the hype generated around them was what annoyed me considerably as well, Kubo seemed to want to make the Arrancar and Espada his mirror to the Shinigami in terms of power (I was honestly half expecting Las Noches to look like Seireitei/Rukongai in terms of having an Arrancar/Hollow populance) and for each of them to last much longer.
That'd be really interesting to see, although I don't know. Zommari trying to take control of Kenpachi's limbs... While it'd be an interesting scenario I really do see Kenpachi powering out of it. (I just can't see Kenpachi being controlled like that) As for Byakuya and Szayel.. A battle between tacticians would be entertaining. I still see Byakuya coming out the victor of that one... Probably not as dominating, but I do see him winning more or less. (logically speaking anyway lol) The only one I'd actually worry about is seeing Mayuri fight Nnoitra... (Actually I wouldn't worry because I don't like Mayuri) Given that Nnoitra's very much like Kenpachi, I just don't see scientific stuff working on him, but then again... And the hype. For the most part I believe everyone was so disappointed in the espada. Kubo should've just went on ahead and made Ulquiorra #1 with the way the other espada performed. We still don't know who was or wasn't a vastolordes. It's like talk about that just vanished. I can go on and rant about all 3 shounen series but I'll call it quits here. But yeah, for the most part I do understand the frustration. (And I'm certainly not excusing the disappointments either seeing how I'm tempted to drop this as well)

I'm enjoying these tutorials. This just might help me when trying to color people like Byakuya and Aizen... Hopefully. Thanks for these.

I'll try... Man I need to watch that show more often. 1. If OtakuBoards were a meal Allamorph would be the appetizer. 2. Always a pragmatist, Al Gore is using video footage from his pending divorce for a new documentary about his wife, An Inconvenient hussy! 3. Boo says: â??I think my girlfriend is having an affair with an auto mechanic, last night I found a power drill in her bed!â? 4. In real-life Desbreko is just like he is online. The only difference is that people don't like it when Des speaks in public. 5. I've tried visiting other forums before but the people there always freak me out. On one message board their most popular thread is called The raid Party. It's all I could think of....

Hmm.. In a sense I can see Goku in Kyle, but at the same time Kyle's arrogance and level-headedness is keeping me from seeing Goku in him too. If anything, I'd say he's closer to Jin (Yu Yu Hakusho). But his fight with
Ulquiorra's double
is a bit DBZ-like. Edit: Finally figured out who Kyle's
present self
reminds me of. A more tolerable/awesome Gotenks. (I can't stand Gotenks) It didn't strike me until I saw the back of Kyle's head and the way he was standing while fighting that shadow thing. But like I once said, even a character like Kabuto is such a great character. Being compared to Grana... That's quite something... Now I just gotta get a handle on what that thing does for him. Edit: Wow... Um, Psyren has just crossed into One Piece's / Bleach's epic "entrance" moments... I don't know why or how I didn't
expect Ageha's father to appear. Army-fatigued out lol. Never thought I'd see one go from scientist uniform to army uniform
. It's sort of equivalent to
Shanks appearance during the war
. I did figure out my favorite character though. Junas. The guy is definately similar to Byakuya (almost identical). Abilities and all. Only difference is Junas don't have flower petals as blades. His blades just break apart. I know I said Kyle was turning out to be my favorite, but I just can't pass up the people that have that dominating mentality. Edit 2: Re-read the chapter again and I have to say that I am shocked at the difference in the level of the W.I.S.E. Seriously, the leap between 3 and 5 is already crazy, but from 2 to 3 is truly insane. Shao was certainly the clear-cut victor between him and Shiner, but he is nothing against Junas. Kubo, take notes from the creator of this series. This is how you have characters live up (or succeed) to their status.
I also have a list of questions: What year was your favorite birthday? What year was your worst birthday? What is the best gift you have ever received? When is your birthday, anyway?
I suppose it would be 2008 where I went bowling with my family and friends... Well, we went before my birthday since I was leaving to go to Arizona then. 2004, which was already a crappy year to begin with... (long story, but know that I could've ended up snapping on any and everyone around me) But my grandmother died either the week of or the day of my birthday. A ps2. But for the most part I never really expect anything since crap tends to always come up around my birthday so I don't really celebrate it anymore. The whole bowling with family and friends was just to get together with everyone before I left. August 30.

I had to remove my vote since I didn't fully read everything, and didn't catch everything.... I'm probably off here as well lol (As proof earlier about the browser setting you can see I'm a little slow Don't judge me) So this 150x_____ debate is about the library stock of avvies correct or is it avatar sizes in general? If it's the library, I have no preference. I like them the way they are, but if people want to try to aim for adding in some bigger avatars that's fine by me as well. I'd probably attempt to sticking with the standard size though... ("IF" I get any better with photoshop that is lol) Avatars in general.. Like I said before, I've grown very fond of the landscape look. Just seems like you can fit more into it without losing much. (I'm a noobie in that department so don't mind me there) [strike]But if it were up to me, James, seeing how it looks like neither side can really come to an agreement, I'd say "forget" (harsher word) them and try to meet somewhere in the middle.[/strike] (need a devilish grin)

Regardless of how "credible" he may be, he seems to be put on there for the sake of being obnoxious and confrontational. But I agree with you. That poor guy got robbed. He took it in stride, though. Seeing as he will probably never get anywhere close to that milestone ever again. That would have been something though, huh? Three perfect games within 30 days. Baseball is amazing
I crack up at Skip. (I have nothing against him since I don't take any of what he says seriously) I want Stephen A. Smith to come back on the show and see those 2 go at it lol. Such a boring day.

Comcast finally added something free that's actually worth checking out. Watching Baccano - There are 2 episodes on it right now, and I only checked out 1 so far. I plan to check out the other a little later. 1st impressions though... I don't know what to make of it. It jumped around so much and I don't really know what's suppose to be going on.
]But seeing people come back to life after being shot up definately caught my interest.
The voice acting is also nice. No ringing on the ears and nothing dull. Claymore - Yeah, Raki's definately going to be the one I want to strangle in this series. I only saw the first 2 episodes, but the 2nd episode I wanted to kick him in the face. His voice didn't make it any better. (How old is he suppose to be anyway? I will not accept 16 year olds who don't go through puberty ) Anyway, Claire (?) is certainly different from other female characters with the starting role. One thing that bothers me a bit though when it comes to the action. Single flashes of light. I read in a review that a lot of the fights are like that and while it won't turn me away (hopefully), it will leave me feeling cheated. Peacemaker - I pretty much caught up to where I left off. Episode 7. I still don't really care for Tetsunosuke, but I am looking forward to how everything turns out. Reading Bleach - I started reading from the Soul Society arc onwards. (Truthfully, I'm just gathering pictures to attempt to color in photoshop) Nothing really to tie together that I don't really know. Psyren (121) - This series has really taken me by surprise. I'll admit that it's probably not for everyone, but I favor this manga over all the current running manga at the moment. I have to admit that I am surprised at the current events. Shocking and exciting stuff going on. Junas is a beast.
So if we expand avatar size, I just have one question - should the images be square or rectangular? I kind of like the rectangular "widescreen" look, but either way I don't particularly mind. Rebellion: the browser is only as wide as your screen if you maximise it. It can still be any size you like. Admittedly though I never maximise my browser window on my home computer, mostly because my screen resolution is big enough so that I don't need to (plus I've just always hated maximising the browser for some reason - I don't entirely know why).
Yea..... , for some reason I tend to maximize everything that I open... It's become a habit. Oh, I've grown fond of the rectangular look. While I don't mind the square look, I enjoy seeing cut-offs of faces/heads (how these masterminds that are great with photoshop or whatever program they use) of the avatars. True you can see everything with squares, but sometimes it looks better as a cut-off.... if that makes any sense lol. Decided to go back to Magus.. Rebellion is too, well Rebellious lol
