I'm also using wet paint for similar reasons. The orange seems to be a little lively-er. Now that "O" in "Otaku" should be changed to that color as well and then we'll have something like Soul Eater going on.

Hey, Ace and Boo started first. Although I was planning on the name change before the switch but never saw Dagger around.... But for the most part, yes Ahem.... Benehime's abilities were interesting for the most part. (I'd actually like to see that animated) I'm glad to see that Kubo didn't forget Yoruichi can use shunko. (Why Soifon didn't use it against Barragan is beyond me) That avatar and siggy of yours is making me a little jealous lol.
And in terms of the overall design...well, all I can really say is that we obviously can't please everyone. However, we will be adding more layouts once we have the setup right. That will hopefully include some more OB-customised stuff (I have been working on a new skin for a while that will be really colourful and very OB - but first we just have to get our collective heads around how to best implement it here). So it's all coming, we just ask for your patience.
I don't know if I should be excited or worried about that lol. When you say colorful and very OB, the first thing that comes to my mind was that bright pink skin..... X_X Whoever came up with that thing is just downright evil. Like Lilt, I'm just happy OB is running again. It's not often where you come across members who knows how to handle differing opinions too well. Oh yeah, I do agree that it is a bit wide, but at the moment I see it as no major issue.

Watching Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan (episode 8) - At first I was skeptical going into this because I'm iffy about Studio DEEN and their last samurai themed anime that I saw being Samurai Deeper Kyo. I did not like how it was animated at all. Fights lacked big time. Here, while the fights don't reach that intensity in Rurouni Kenshin/Trust and Betrayal, but they are still fairly decent to watch when there are fights. If I had to compare this to something it'd be Peacemaker Kurogane (I need to watch the rest of that). Both seem to have very few fights, but tell an interesting story (from what I've seen so far) about the Shinsengumi. The artwork is great, although almost everyone of the guys in this series look like a bunch of pretty boys. It's been entertaining so far but I don't think this is for everyone. Reading Hunter x Hunter (ch 6) - At least I think that's where I left off at. I'm re-reading this because I tried picking up where I last left off and was lost. I don't remember too much of anything about Nen.

Someone posted... Yeah, I really don't like the idea of Isshin being able to fire a Getsuga Tensho. I don't mind (lie, I do mind) him having abilities that are like the Getsuga Tensho, but actually having it.... Yeah, that makes no sense to me. Getsuga Tensho is Zangetsu's attack, and his attack alone. Now to have Isshin come along firing it is almost like that Diamond Dust Rebellion movie where there were 2 Hyorinmaru's, and it just don't sit well with me. I'm going to assume that Ichigo's zanpakuto is called Zangetsu the 2nd now considering these circumstances. But other than that I did enjoy that chapter although not much really happened. Till this day I'm still anticipating bankai's over everything else. At this moment I don't really care how the story plays out. I wanna see bankai's dangit.

Okami (ps2) Would it be a crime if I said this is better than Zelda? (I've seen this get compared to Zelda a few times so.... yeah) I'm about 26 hours in, and I beat Orochi. Just removed the curse zone in the next town. I'm not real big on the mythology here, but it's been presented nicely so I have nothing bad to say about it. I like how Capcom decided to keep the brush techniques simple because I'd certainly be no good if I had to draw an actual bridge with a controller lol. I'll probably play a little bit more today if I'm in the mood.

That was quite a painful waiting experience, especially when I hardly know how to get anything to work in TheOtaku lol. I should probably tinker around with that site a bit more often just incase something like that happens again. + - ...... Is that a rep system thingy?

I've never had a smoke or an alcoholic beverage a day in my life, and never will, BUT being in college I can certainly see why/how one would with the amount of work that's given. When that semester or quarter is over with, you'd think you deserve a little bit of everything... At least that's how I'm feeling. Then again I prefer a vacation over the drinking any day.

I'm a little sad at the moment. I saw the series finale to 24 last night and while I enjoyed every minute of it, I was completely lost as to how things came to where they were. It's been like 2 seasons since I've last seen this show. (Thanks college life, you suck) I hear a movie is in the making and can't wait for that. But I did end up thinking that
Jack would end up being killed (despite the movie)
, glad it turned out differently though. Probably not a lot of 24 fans here so I'll go sit in the corner and ponder on these thoughts :)

What could bring me, Magus into reading this series when I distinctly said that I wasn't gonna put up with Ed or Al again? It was the latest chapter seeing
Ed (or someone that look like Ed taking blows from everyone) fighting everyone
and that kind of made me want to check this out from the beginning. While it's not the manga's fault, but I felt like the first 10, maybe 12 chapters were kind of draggy. Like I said, it wasn't the mangas fault, it was because I had already seen most of those events in the original anime and didn't want to go through that again. I'm not really interested in how the manga and anime differed in its story-telling. (I did skip some stuff though) Ed and Al are almost like completely different characters compared to the original anime counterparts, wow. Considering that they were suppose to be 16 and 15 in that anime whereas one is 15 and the other 14 in the manga. They still have that hiliarity to them, but Ed's bratty-ness and Al's whining is almost non-existant.
I thought for certain that when they ran into Marcoh
, Ed's bratty-ness would come out, but to my surprise it didn't, and I like how it was handled. Another character who I thought would bother me would be Winry. While I didn't mind her so much in the original anime, I still found her to be on the annoying side, especially during that episode where they were arm wrestling. Some unexpected stuff also surprised me a bit. Particularly the comedy side of the homunculus (sp?). Speaking of those characters, could Lust be any better? Then again I'm also split because I like her in the original anime just as much as I like her here. Either personality suits her just fine. Then again, I liked just about all of the secondary characters in the anime. Ed and Al were real annoying but I could always depend on Mustang and the rest of the characters to bail the anime out. Anyway, I left off on chapter 32, and look forward to catching up on the rest. Also, it feels really strange reading manga that's over 30 pages long. ________________________ So I'm currently up to chapter 71. All I can really say at this point is that this manga makes up for the original anime's shortcomings. (Mainly Ed and Al) I'm expecting great things from Brotherhood down the line. At this very moment I'm tempted to say that FMA has the best female characters that I've seen in my history of anime/manga (which is fairly impressive, but at the same time is not because I've seen my share of anime but read very little manga). Ross (I think of Friends when I see that name). I really like Ross's character in here as well as the original series.
I hope she's okay and nothing happens to her
. Lust is Lust. Different personality compare to her anime counterpart, but I enjoy both of them equally. She rocks.
Laura Bailey voicing her... Lets just say she get me to do anything if she (Laura) whispered in my ear. :animeswea:catgirl:
Hawkeye, Izumi and
Olivia Armstrong
are the best female characters ever. Topping the major (ghost in the shell) and Revy (Black Lagoon). I don't I even need to explain how awesome they are. Edit: I was just thinking how I didn't mind Winry and then I come to chapter 72. This girl is just as dumb as other damsels. I can't stand this girl.

Not really watching or reading anything at the moment. The 1st episode of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig's about to come on. I really need some new stuff to check out, but I don't know what, so I'm gonna do a little venturing with both manga and anime. Here are some stuff I'll be checking out soon. Anime Darker than Black - I tried watching this once before but I stopped after the 3rd episode I believe because I was kind of lost. This time I'm gonna go into it with a different mindset. Go in for action and characters (what I should've done from the getgo), if I catch on to the story then it's an added bonus. Fate/Stay Night - For the past couple of days I've been trying to look for input on this series, and from what I've heard across the net, it's a split. On one hand I hate what I'm hearing about the leading male. He alone sounds like he can ruin the series, but on the other people are saying that the action and the rest of the characters make up for it. Shana - I'm very skeptical about this right now because of the look. I tend to stay away from anime where characters seem to have that "cutesy" look going on because it tend to be real girly. But people have been comparing both this and Fate/Stay Night to each other. Claymore - Another one of those that I've seen being compared to Fate/Stay Night. Like Fate/Stay Night, I'm hating what I'm hearing about the leading male character. Potential series killer. Mai-Hime - I don't know. I'm not a fan of romance, but at the same time I don't really mind it. Considering that I'm a fan of Change 123 (Because of HiFuMi), I figured I might as well check this one out. Hopefully the fanservice won't be a turn-off because I hear the action is really good. Twelve Kingdoms - Something I've been curious about for a long time now. Moribito - It's about time I finish this series up so it can get placed in my top ranked again. Manga Psyren - I've been told about this once before, but at the time I was going through a little dry spell. Still am because I'm having quite a low tolerance for idiotic leading characters. Anyway, I've been wanting something new and figured I'd start here. Hunter x Hunter - I started this series a while ago, and it was great, but for some reason I stopped reading it. Gon has that "carefree" attitude, but he certainly is a bit different from all the other knuckleheaded leading characters. It's about time I got back into this one. Fairy Tail - I might regret coming back into this one since I don't really care for the characters outside of Erza and Gray, and they can only do so much to keep me interested. But we'll see how things turn out when I get back into it. __________________________ Watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Been following this on adult swim. Bradley is like the buffest old man I've ever seen (No need for enhancements or anything). I prefer Brotherhood over the original now. (more on that for manga) Moribito - The 1st volume arrived in the mail yesterday, and while I've already seen the first 11 episodes on adult swim, I had to drop the series because of the time slot. I look forward to finishing this series. Reading Psyren - A frickin breath of fresh air. It's like this series is what other shonen series are trying to become but is failing in the process. The pacing is handled nicely. The artwork looks similar to Bleach. The fighting is nicely done, and for crying out loud the characters are enjoyable. No series is perfect, but this one is pretty close. Fullmetal Alchemist - I'm also enjoying this one too. Mainly because Ed and Al are a lot more tolerable and enjoyable here than they were in the original anime. I hated them and could've dropped the series because of them. (Side characters kept me from dropping though) I've yet to get back into Hunter x Hunter yet. Dropped Naruto - I know I shouldn't let what fans talk about dictate what I read or watch, but dangit, some fans (no one here btw) truly know how to ruin stuff big time. Acting as if it's the perfect series out there and want to bite your head off because you don't agree with some of the plot points or what have you. While I haven't dropped it yet, One Piece is heading in that same direction. (As well as Bleach)

1 week left before this quarter is over... I cannot wait because I hate composition. Writing's not for me at all. I did manage to get out a 6 and a quarter page paper. Think I might try to push for maybe 7-8 pages. I've already accepted that I'm not going to get an A lol, but as long as I come out of that class with a grade higher than a F I'm good. I got photoshop portable on my flash drive (finally got it to work on my computer after 2-3 months), and I finally started testing things out. I'll toy around with this Ulquiorra image that I have until I see improvements.
Re-watched "Desperado" today. Such an awesome flick, and it reminds me abit of home, sans the gun-toting mariachi.
I didn't think there were other people who knew about that movie :O

If it makes you feel any better, I'm always told I have the appearance of a thug. I don't sag, but my clothes are always loose (very loose) and I wear a du-rags a lot. Man I gotta change my wardrobe. I decided to hold out on that break and try to finish things. I just recently reached the Sky dungeon. While I've yet to really get into this dungeon I am starting to think this is a bit excessive in a sense. Honestly, it feels like it could've been wrapped up after beating the Temple of Time dungeon. I've hardly tackled any side quests (I think), but for the main story it is a bit much. Don't get me wrong though, it's still a great game. Dungeon fatigue is just kicking the crap out of me, but at the same time I don't really wanna do any side quests because it'll drag things out even more and.... I've never really liked Zelda's sidequests "ducks". This is what I get for asking for some long games lol.

Wow, miss a week or 2 and to come back and see
Bradley fighting with Greed
(WHAT?!) was quite something. It's a good thing I just recently finished up reading that part in the manga, otherwise I'd be a little lost there. I do wish I had seen the episode before that though. Oh well, I'll see it eventually. It's on demand :)
By Thundara you guys like to whine. B( It's honestly making you sound a bit more like bratty ten-year-olds than I'm sure you lot are. Wait... didn't even read the chapter? Seriously, it's not that bad. Is there something I'm not getting because this anti-flashback movement sounds like it's a little much. I mean, how can you say that we don't need it until it's either over or we've had some time to let it soak in? It's a flashback, not Oda finally snapping and ending the story in five chapters because he's sick of it. You got through 580+ of these chapters, I'm sure this won't kill anyone--in real-life anyways. I'd say to ditch the skirts and man up but, well, yeah... there's too many unfortunate implications with that. Try being constructive or objective or something other than whiny. Please? The fun of the thread's being sucked out otherwise.
Wow, Nehs, you make it sound as if we're calling One Piece bad. (I don't think anyone's dismissing the series because of the flashbacks) I'm pretty certain no one is saying that flashback chapters aren't needed. I can't speak for everyone, but for me, it's Oda's execution. Just like his fights (none of his recent fights), his flashbacks drags out far too long. When they drag on I get tired of them, and I, for one don't want to read 15+ chapters that only contains flashbacks. Yes I made it through 580+ chapters, but do you know how I made it through? By skipping those flashback chapters. (I think the only flashback story I actually read was Sanji's) I'm not exactly the biggest One Piece supporter. If I had read them I would've dropped One Piece a long time ago, so if I were you I'd be happy that I do skip them. As Ace mentioned, the Naruto (and Bleach) thread would NOT be as active/fun as it is right now if it weren't for the negative/whiny comments. (Do you really believe those threads are striving because it's filled with "OH THAT'S EPIC" remarks alone?) So lets not act like them other fans that get all defensive just because only a select few people don't care to read or talk bad about flashbacks. (Of all things... They're not even worth defending if you ask me, but whatever) OB is better than that. But to be fair, I suppose I won't comment in this thread until the flashbacks are over. (Lets see how long that will be) [strike]Now if you don't mind, I rather like to keep my skirt and not read them flashbacks :D[/strike] "Off to continue reading Fullmetal Alchemist"
-
Even Ikillion is tired of flashbacks. Just shows you how cruel Oda is with his flashbacks. Everyone is either skeptical or just down right tired of them. I didn't even bother to read the chapter.
So I was reading through the Pokemon Black&White thread when disaster struck. I stretched out my legs and my right calf suddenly seized up in the most painful leg cramp I have ever experienced. I tossed and turned on the floor screaming in agony before dragging myself downstairs for a hot towel. Apparently my dad did not hear my screaming. Remind me never to encounter an axe murderer in my room, as nobody will come to my rescue due to their lack of hearing.:animedepr
While I do know the feeling I can't help but laugh. (sorry) Everytime I hear about cramps I automatically think about the episode of the Cosby show where Clair get a cramp in the back of her thigh. Speaking of which, I believe those are the most painful cramps ever. I know when I caught it I couldn't stand, sit or lay down with it. Man, talk about pain. That's pain I wouldn't wish on anybody.

Anime Poll: Anime/Manga That Could Use The North American Film Treatment
Magus replied to stararnold's topic in Otaku Central
When you say NA animated treatment, are you talking about something like the Pixar films or something in the style of Batman? If it's the Pixar/Disney style, there's Ghost in the Shell that's in the making. As far as everything on that poll, like I said, I've only seen 3 of those that're listed. (FMA, parts of Lupin, and parts of Yugioh) And unfortunately I don't think any of those can fit. -
Anime Poll: Anime/Manga That Could Use The North American Film Treatment
Magus replied to stararnold's topic in Otaku Central
Out of everything on that list I've only seen 3 shows, and out of those three the only one I can see working is Lupin the 3rd. I never thought about the Oceans series being tied to Lupin, so that'd be a really good take on it. Good eye Ace. Personally speaking though, I'm against anime/comics/games as live action movies. No matter how good or bad they are, I'd still be against them. -
Man, I gotta find a way to be more consistent with this series. One moment I'm catching everything, and the next I'm missing stuff. Exactly how accurate is Brotherhood to the manga? I just can't seem to catch the anime as much as I want to, and I think I just might read the manga. I could go to Funi's streaming site, but I want to hear it in english, unless they're streaming english eppy's? O_o.
