Yea, so I saw Mustang's serious side finally. Glad I saw it too. Makes him seem like the bad### he once was in the original anime. Gotta say, though,
Hughes death/funeral
didn't have much of an impact this time around, which is pretty shocking because this version seemed to have had the emotional side of things nailed perfectly.
Hughes daughter in the original series made the funeral very sad, while it was still sad, she didn't have the same impact
. (I didn't cry last time nor this time. I'm a man dangit, but that was a heart wrenching moment) It also felt a bit rushed, but I think I'll blame myself on that one because I missed quite a few episodes before this one.

I finally got my hands on Twilight Princess (GCN version), although, I've had it for about 2-3 weeks now, but I haven't been able to put in the time that I'd like to because I'm in school at night, and I sleep up in the day, so-to-speak. Anyway, I'm currently about to get my hands on the boss key at the Forest Temple. For a little bit today, I almost found myself saying that these puzzles border the lines of tedious/annoying because I found myself getting frustrated quite a bit, especially with these monkeys not doing much. But when I got my hands on that boomerang it's like the gameplay did almost a complete 180 because that boomerang is pretty neat, although it does seem to borrow a bit from Wind Waker (from the little I've played of it) with the extra targeting, but I enjoy it nevertheless. I probably shouldn't speak about the graphics just yet since I'm only at the beginning stage of the game. For a Gamecube game I suppose they are pretty good. But from what I've seen of it so far it sort of looks a little bland. It's been a long time since I've played OoT and MM (I could be mistaken a bit), but from what I can remember, I am finding OoT and MM to be a lot more colorful, and lively, I suppose. Midna's definately an interesting character. Seems so mysterious yet devious at the same time. Not sure that I've enjoyed the wolf part from what I've played of it. I played Okami before this and I can't help but say that I liked the gameplay in that over this. Looking forward to how the rest of the game plays out.
Yeah, he did a bit a bit of analysis against Ulquiorra in his first release but it sounded almost like smack-talk. Against all his previous Hueco Mundo opponents, and Segunda Etapa Ulquiorra he's basically charged in with his bankai and Vizard powers without any real tactics. Maybe it's just down to the fact the last few Arrancar he fought haven't had powers that really require close analysis. Grimmjow just got faster and stronger, same for Ulquiorra though on a completely different scale, their fighting styles didn't really change though. Shikai and bankai tend to change his opponents fighting styles pretty completely.
Well, Ichigo was an arrogant one from the beginning. (Not the very beginning, but you know... When Renji and Byakuya first appeared) I do agree that Grimmy and Ulquiy were pretty much one in the same, although, being on a different scale, against Ulquiy, the thought process was definately needed... Guy seemed to move as fast as Gin's bankai, at least that's the implication I got from it. (I really hope the animators don't butcher this fight the way they did with Byakuya and Soifon)
That's one thing I really don't understand about any of the captains, other than Komamura, is their lack of direct bankai usage in Fake Karakura. Kyouraku and Ukitake likely would have annihilated Stark if they'd fully released their swords from the start instead of getting beaten around the place and Ukitake getting a botched prostate exam from Wonderweiss. I mean going against Aizen without releasing their bankai was mad. Whenever Komamura has fought an opponent he warrants as dangerous, and the same can be said of Byakuya to a lesser degree, his bankai comes out the fight ends. Even with the Vizards the only one with the intelligence to go bankai was Kensei. It makes absolutely no sense for Shinji to hold back his bankai against Aizen, especially given his similarity to Aizen's powers. The fight could've been over much sooner.
Don't forget your favorite, Toushiro () also used bankai against Aizen. If I'm not mistaken I ranted about this a while back, or it was on a similar basis. I believe I mentioned something about battle tactics and mentioning Byakuya with this rant as well. But I agree with you on that entire point there. Granted I liked seeing Aizen just own everyone, but at the same time it just irritated me that Toushiro and Komamura were the only ones to use bankai.
Problem with Ichigo learning kidou has always been displayed as his inability to control his reiatsu properly. He puts a shitload of reiatsu into his kidou which if taught hadou-kidou would either explode in his face or create some truly destructive attacks. As for the bakudo-kidou I just can't see Ichigo changing his fighting style to incorporate them, he's an attacker. I would like to see him learn to focus his reiatsu properly because it would give him new avenues of attack and round him out as a fighter.
Yea, and that's what I mean by I want him to learn properly. Someone need to take the time to sit there with Ichigo and go through it step-by-step. The time where Ichigo was learning how to use kido he was basically under a time constraint, and in a sense, it was just rushed. Ichigo being a straight attacker is the exact reason why I want to see him learn kido. Ichigo's such a boring person to watch fight because all he has is the Getsuga Tensho. Straight attackers are boring because it's easy to predict what they're gonna do in battle. (The only reason Kenpachi's fight with Nnoitra was interesting was because he was fighting a mirrored version of himself, and Kubo had it out like Kenny finally learned his swords name) Same with Naruto's Rasengan, it's such a boring technique because there's no variation of it (ooooh, there's are wind shuuriken version of it, oooooh there's a throwing version of it... big freakin deal. Naruto's shadow clones are more interesting than the rasengan to me because of how Naruto utilizes them in battle. Shikamaru's shadow possession jutsu, a technique you'd think I'd be tired of remains impressive because of how he uses it in certain situations, however, him saying "Shadow Possession jutsu is a success" or whatever kills the moment for me. I don't need to hear/see that everytime he captures an opponent), and the way they use these techniques are not being used cleverly at all and it's become a snooze fest. I dare say Ichigo's gonna turn out even more like Inuyasha where he'll learn another type of Getsuga Tensho where it's just another giant sword slash with a different color. (Maybe we'll get a Backlash Wave or Adamant Barrage >_>) That's not variartion. That's boring as hell. (This is a big reason why I can't get into Renji's and Chad's fights. They're boring) I'll stop there before that becomes an even bigger wall of text going on about what I like/hate about everybody elses zanpakuto. [strike]Can you believe that I actually found something impressive about Naruto? :O Take a picture, quote it because it's not happening again.[/strike]
Indeed, funny that a 16 year old has greater strategic knowledge than a Kage probably three times his age. To be honest though you'd think Tsunade would've at least had the intelligence to get reports on what occurred at the previous Kage meeting, mayhaps Kakashi's ascension isn't so far off after all.
I think we're suppose to believe that she was brought up-to-date with that stuff off-screen. Probably while she was eating all that junk (we all know where that food is going. I'd definately hate to see her when she's all wrinkly )

I just finished watching America's Best Dance Crew: Night of Champions. I have to admit, while I've had tons of issues with this show in the past, this was the best episode I've seen. I definately liked them dancing for charity and whatnot. Jabbawockeez was definately my favorite performance. I didn't think they were going to be able to match up with Quest Crew because of their last two performances during season 3, but Jabbawockeez, they were fluent and they were hitting the beat hard. Till this day they are still my favorite dance crew. Everyone else was good as well, even season 4's champs which I didn't watch much of. I think they need to do a lot of changes for this show as well, ranging from auditions to judging. I don't like the idea of picking 3 crews out of each region. That's just "bleh" and limited. I don't watch reality shows, but I do like to watch the ABDC (when they got great dancers) and So You Think You Can Dance (especially the auditions)
Gotta say 400 was actually quite a good chapter, feels like we're back in the Soul Society arc where Ichigo was properly analysing his opponents rather than just relying on his accidental latest power boost (and Orihime's whining) to get the job done for him.
Ichigo was analyzing Ulquiorra before they went all transform-y, and even though it was for a brief moment, and in the end he still got punk'd, he did do a tad bit analyzing on Aizen. But it still feels like it's been forever since Ichigo actually went through some type of thought process. I agree, though, this was indeed a good chapter, but I have to admit I almost caught myself about to say that this was a rather dull chapter until someone actually pointed out the speed of Gin's zanpakuto. For some reason the first time I read that it didn't sink in. Gin's bankai is very dangerous, and this can certainly prove to be a rather interesting/great fight between the 2. The speed of sound, comparing that to, lets say Rurouni Kenshin, that's equivalent to being faster than what the naked-eye can see. (Think Soujiro's shuukuchi) Ichigo's eyesight is really good being able to keep up with the extending rate so far. (I'd hope so seeing how he's been fighting people that made his bankai look like child's play, especially Ulquiorra) With that being said, on to Isshin and Aizen. Honestly, those words weren't really impressing. I want to see the words "BANKAI". I will admit that it makes me fairly curious what Aizen is about to pull with the Hougyoku, but I don't care about that thing. I want to see what this guy's bankai is about. He already has a cheap ability dangit. Unless his bankai can't do crap against those who're not under hypnosis either. hmmm... Back to Ichigo analyzing for a minute though. Oh how I wish someone taught him some kido spells. Clearly we see that Ichigo uses his head, and while I give Ichigo a lot flack about charging in blindly, I really do appreciate the fact that we do see him think his way through a lot of things. Give this boy some kido and he'd really be a force to be reckoned with. Seriously, we see the damage and the decisiveness Byakuya can do with Kido, and I think that's what makes him one of the best captains/characters SS has to offer. And just think, the effectiveness of Tensa Zangetsu+Rikujokurou+Getsuga Tensho. (or any binding spell for that matter) Ichigo would literally be one of the baddest dudes in Bleach, and not because of some trope of being the main character. I know I'd enjoy seeing him fight a lot more if he were to learn kido and incorporated them into his battles. And I mean learn them. Don't half### it like Renji.

Heh, misleading spoilers... Well, let me restate that. It wasn't misleading, but it did have the chapter sounding disappointing. Not a bad chapter at all, and for the first time I've actually enjoyed some Naruto segments here. But of course the chapter stealer belongs to Gaara. Tsunade got punk'd. Gaara's become quite the talker.

No matter how many times I place my figure around it, each time I think about
the higher-ups/WG not wanting to leak any info about the prisoners the more the more I think they're in cahoots with Blackbeard.
I'm trying to stay away from that train of thought but considering that this is shonen, and I've seen it in Naruto, and people are banking on it happening in Bleach, I just can't shake that idea. (You know, villain being controlled by an even higher source of power)
Brownbeard, other than his wacky beard does not strike at me at all.
I see nothing that strikes out as a threat at all, and he certainly don't have that dominating feel to him. Boa definately stole this chapter for me. The way she was talking down to Bepo was priceless, but then again I've always liked that about her.

Wow, I don't know if listening to a character's theme song ever turned that character into a favorite for anyone but it certainly did that for me with Sasuke. He's not the top (Itachi) but he's in my top 3 now lol. Granted, I've never hated Sasuke to begin with, I just never got into him. If I had to compare, I'd say he's like Hitsugaya in a sense. Fans make a big deal out of him to a point where I'd get tired of the character. Anyway, that theme is quite an epic piece there, at least to me. I think this is part of the reason I thought that Sasuke and Bee fight was epic... Right when Sasuke got owned by that Lariat changed the feel/mood of the fight when that theme kicked in. (That theme should've went to Pein) I'm definately anticipating on seeing Sasuke and Raikage's fight as well as Sasuke and Danzo (although it'll probably be a bit before we get to that one) Anyway, spoiler time. Ch. 491 Naruto is returned home. He's back in ichiraku ramen where other shinobi are at his side, a young boy recognizes him and asks for his autograph. Naruto blushes. The owner, too, is proud of him. The hokages argue about what to do w/ naruto and bee. Tsunade angrily argues that sheltering them is a waste. "What's the point if we lose the war? Weren't they for that purpose?" Unfortunately, she loses to majority vote. It is decided to shelter them in Cloud Country, the one place akatsuki haven't shown up from. The exact location is Oganjima (island of demons, from japanese folklore) Nartuo was picturing paradise, but is sorely disappointed. Naruto is with Yamato on a boat when they're attacked by a giant squid, but are saved by Bee's sudden transformation. Naruto - "Oh, so YOU'RE the octopus I needed to find?" Bee - "You're late, bro" Ought to be interesting, but at the same time I'm actually more curious about next week's chapter than I am with this one.
With time and training he will be, he will be.
Eww... He will never be awesome in my book. Have anyone been keeping up with the anime? I just watched the fight between Sasuke and Bee. I thought it was awesome when reading it, but to see all of it in motion was just epic... The fights in Shippuden, as of late has been nothing short of awesome. I haven't looked at any of the fillers so I don't know how the fights are in those, although if someone told me that they're just as good as the fights in the canon stuff then I'll give them a shot. I'm anticipating Peins invasion.

Greetings talented artists of OB. I'm hoping I can get someone to fulfill this request. It's a pick your poison type of thing. Itachi Uchiha Background: Probably something a little dark, or matches him. Other than that, have fun with it. Text: Magus Size: default Font: No preference Or Pein/Nagato Pretty much the same as the Itachi request. Although I suppose the background for this one don't have to be dark, but still have fun with it :). Here are some pictures. If you have better pics then by all means, go for it.

Naruto is no where near awesome to do a Lariat.

I think every Toushiro hater was giddy at that moment lol. It really pissed me off that Kubo would copout like that. So I read M7's translation of ch. 398, and it's pretty much the same thing. Hard to tell if it's translation error, an error on Kubo's end, or if Kubo actually planned that. I think Gavin has a point saying that that moment wasn't suppose to be shocking to us but to Ichigo, but at the same time it does feel a little "meh-ish" because one would think Ichigo is a cross between 3 species. Turns out that Ichigo's just another "Gohan". I also read a different translation for 399. Gotta say Gin's a funny one. Speaking of which, I'd really like to see Gin and Byakuya cross blades. Gotta speak about the art once more since Isshin's been looking funny/weird for the past 2 chapters compared to his dynamic entry in 397.

I've been playing Zelda: Wind Waker. I'm at the 2nd dungeon, or is it the 3rd? I know I'm hunting for the 2nd pearl that's for sure. Kind of stuck trying to figure out where to go since I can't find the boss key, and I'm pretty sure I've been through this forest/woods/whatever from top to bottom. Putting the cartoony look aside it's been pretty decent, but at the same time I'm not seeing anything special about it. Trying to get used to the camera's been a pain. Tilt the c-stick one way and the camera goes in the opposite direction. I've always hated that kind of camera. If I were to compare it to OoT or MM right now, I'd give the edge to those 2 games. WW's not hooking/catching me the way those two games did, and I guess part of it is because of some anticipation for waiting for Twilight Princess to arrive seeing that's what I want to play at the moment. Twilight Princess finally arrived. YAY!!!

I think you're pretty much asking to have your head go for a loop if you try to figure out the power rankings in this series. Who would've thought that Toushiro could stay on par with Halibel?

I'm more intrigued about Naruto meeting up with Bee. Kind of wondering how that's going to turn out. Give or take, I don't like Kisame's position here if he actually interfere's with the both of them. 2 Jinny's at once is a scary situation to find oneself in.

Reading Change 123 - Errr.... This one is really a sleeper series. There is so much ecchi/fanservice (whatever it's called) all over the place, and I'm shocked that I made it this far in the series because I definately can't stand needless fanservice being tossed in my face everytime I click "next page". If I had to compare it, I'd compare it to Tenjou Tenge. I would say Ikki Tousen, but TT has a decent story (from what I've read of it. It's been a while since I've read it). And the story really is the draw point of this series. That and the leading female protagonist. Motoko Gettou. Think I'll quote wikipedia here.
Change 123 follows Motoko Gettou, a "not-so-average" teenage girl. Orphaned at an early age after the death of her mother, she was taken in by her "Three Fathers". Each of whom is a master of a certain style of martial arts or combat-training. Under the care of each parent, a young Motoko was subjected to excessively rigorous training. So much was the physical and mental strain that Motoko developed three split-personalities, known as HiFuMi. Consisting of the ever hard-headed Hibiki, quick and agile Fujiko, and cute and immature Mikiri. Each individually skilled in combat skills learned from each master. As a high school student, one day a man begins to harass Motoko as he catches her alone down an alleyway. A classmate of hers, Kosukegawa Teruharu, happens to stumble across, but is quickly scared away by the man. Set in resolve, cowardly Kosukegawa returns to help Motoko, only in time to watch as an infuriated Hibiki kicks the harassing man directly across his path straight into a car. Returning to herself, a shocked Motoko promises Kosukegawa she will do anything if he doesn't tell her secret. From here poor Kosukegawa must manage a flurry of combat fighting and ecchi madness as he is brought along for the ride of his life into the chaotic lifestyle of HiFuMi. But what initially developed as a friendship seems to have become more to Kosukegawa as he longs to tell Motoko his feelings for her. If he can only manage to survive long enough to confess let alone find the opportune moment.
Like I said before, this is something you'd never catch me reading on a regular basis, but HiFuMi is/are a great character(s). Although, as great a character(s) HiFuMi are the leading male is that much more annoying, and I think this is why I generally don't follow these harem series because I just don't see it possible for wimpy guys like these leading characters get themselves in situations most guys could only dream about... Creators of this harem stuff really have some imagination. Anyway, the guy's heart is in the right place, but he goes on and on about justice till it gets maddening. It don't help that he's a Kamen Rider (whatever that is) otaku. In a sense, everything about him is probably what I hate to see from real life fanboys that have fangasms out the wazoo about __________. But like I said, it's HiFuMi and finding out her story that's the focal point. Side characters, or rather the memorable ones with the martial arts background are also great as well. Errr... If I had to compare this to Ikki Tousen I guess this is where I'd start comparing it at. Almost every female character that gets a lot of panel time is a martial artist. (Also is the centerpoint of fanservice too >_>) It's not the best series. Fanservice and the leading male character is a turn off, and can annoy people greatly, but seeing HiFuMi's story unravel and other side characters is very interesting and keeps me coming back. (Take it from someone that hates the romance, harem, school life genre)

I will read yall huge wall of text and comment on it, eventually. :D So Gin's bankai is that his sword gets even longer than his shikai. While I don't think it's lame (it's good for assassinations), I do hope there's more to it than that, or at the very least, more to Gin than that. At least his bankai matches his shikai's ability unlike Soifons.
-
This is how I prefer the downtimes to be spent. No lame attempts at comedy (especially when it's not funny to begin with). Kabuto, the only villain that I actually hated throughout this entire series has just became perhaps the 2nd most interesting character at the moment (1 belongs to Madara). I wanna see whose in the box. People are speculating it being Madara's body, but I've heard a couple folk who thought it was his brother, and I have to say that sounds really good right now too.

I thought I'd check out Kekkaishi (sp?) because it's the latest series picked up by Adult Swim. Saw the first 2 episodes and I pretty much quit from there. Seriously, you'd think they can come up with different roles for these leading characters in shonen. I'm tired of seeubg the "airheaded, underdog" role. (I've come to the point of even hating that role now) Adult Swim picked this up because...? Edit: I've also checked out Kenichi since it's on VOD. I don't like this at all. If I had to compare to it anything, I'd say it's a light hearted version of either Ikki Tousen or Tenjho Tenge. And don't get me wrong either, I don't like Ikki Tousen at all (TT's manga is really good though), but at least some of the fights are worth watching. (In I think Dragon Destiny, if not it's Great Guardians). The reason I call it that is because Kenichi seems to have a lot of fanservice in it, but from the 2 episodes I checked out it never got to the extreme. There's no clothes ripping as far as I saw, but breasts do buldge out a lot. It don't help that the artwork is ugly as well. The way breasts are buldging through shirts is hideous. I only checked this series out because of my curiousity/love for martial arts. (I don't know if it's handled well. I only checked out episodes 42-43) Horrible series for me. I think I'd rather watch Ikki Tousen over this and that's a bad thing there. Edit 2: Reading Bleach - Still an up and down experience going on with this one, although I did enjoy the latest chapter Naruto - Same as Bleach (didn't enjoy the chapter though) One Piece - Still enjoying it but there have been some rocky moments where it caused me to get a bit tired of the current arc. Change 123 - Now, I do not read/watch anything that has excessive fanservice, harem, school life and dating/romance. Too much fanservice is a turn off for me (and that's what's really killing this series for me), and I just can't get into the other stuff. What has me curious about it though, is the leading female character.
She has 4 personalities, and 2 of those 4 are personalities I'd like to see in most, if not all female characters.
It also helps that there's a lot of martial arts in it, but the fanservice tends to get in the way quite a bit since there's a lot of T&A shots. The artwork is great too. I'll probably continue reading this, because this series does have one of the most interesting female characters (probably the best) I've seen in a while. (I don't read many mangas to begin with)

This is why I like M7's translations over everyone elses. Chapter 397 proved that Aizen does know Isshin, and I can certainly see how the whole "Masaki being a hollow" theory came about now, and it only makes me even more anxious to see M7's translation for ch. 398. (I do believe it was a translation error) http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Bleach/Maximum7/397/19 But then again, thinking about it now, wasn't Masaki able to see hollows too? http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Bleach/Maximum7/19/13 http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Bleach/Maximum7/19/14 http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Bleach/Maximum7/19/15 Argh, I do believe a break is needed from the fighting just so we can get a flashback of Isshin's past because I'm curious about Masaki now. It still puzzles me that Aizen knows Isshin and the other captains don't. I'm beginning to go back to my idea of Isshin coming from the maggot's nest, but one thing I do hope is that Kubo don't pull something from Yu Yu Hakusho here.
Yusuke's father being his demonic ancestor
. That type of thing only works once for me and I wouldn't want to see it in anything else. Kubo certainly hit the ringer here with the mystery part of the series.

I'll echo Akatsuki from Naruto here. Outside of probably Deidara and Hidan (they're more the comical folk in the group to me), the whole group just has that bad### pressence that I look for in my characters. It's too bad that no one else in this series matches up to them in terms of coolness though. Ulquiorra and Aizen from Bleach deserves a mention as well. Aizen because he's superman and batman together, and Ulquiorra because he's the villain version of Byakuya. Legato from Trigun. I don't think I even need to say more, but if I have to say anything, I'd say just watch the episode where he's first introduced. (Diablo)

I decided to go with Twilight Princess for the time being. Decided to bring this up once more, this time for Ps3 games. I can't say for sure but hopefully I'll be getting a ps3 between now and christmas. I already have a list of games I'm gonna get once I get the system (and money) and I'll probably end up covering just about everything I want to play / try out. Metal Gear Solid 4 Uncharted 1 & 2 Batman Arkham Asylum Devil May Cry 4 Bayonetta Final Fantasy 13 Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 & 2 Super Street Fighter 4 God of War 3 That's about all I can think of at the moment. GTA4, Rachet and Clank, and Little Black Planet are games I have no interest in for the time being. Anything else?
