I don't think Kishi is necessarily bad at these downtime segments Magus, more so that he seems determined to show as much as possible at the same time. I would prefer we get full chapters dedicated to Konoha that actually go somewhere, rather than these split Akatsuki/Konoha ones that really start to do something and then have to wait a week to continue it.
I just can't get into the downtime segments unless it either involves training or some type of debate or something of that nature (kind of like the kage summit). I'm just no fan of Naruto's "comedy". It does nothing for me. But then again Kishi does make up for it with the action.. That's one thing both Kishi and Kubo deliver on big time. No matter how disappointing the outcome may be, I still manage to be intrigued.. (with a few exceptions.. Don't want to see Choji, Kiba or puppet boy fight lol) Edo Tensei... Gotta do some type of mixup with these names. I'm getting that confused with all those Bansho Tenin's, Chibaku ????, Shinra Tensei and all them other awesome jutsu's that Deva did. Dang that guy rocked.

I'm not playing anything at the moment. But I do have 3 games I'll eventually start playing sometime soon. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (Gamecube) - I remember starting this at one point and never came back to finish it. So hopefully I'll see it all the way through to the end this time around. Obviously the look will have to grow onto me though since I'm not a fan of the cartoony look. (Charm and cute or whatever just has no meaning to me when it comes to games... I'll toss it aside with the quickness) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Gamecube) - I just ordered this game through Amazon about a good 30 minutes ago, and I expect it to arrive between next Wednesday or Thursday. (I decided to pass on Suikoden 5 mainly because I lent my ps2 to my brother and his wife and I swear if anything happens to my ps2 I'ma do some damage) Okami (PS2) - I've been craving this game like crazy since the last time I've played it. I've yet to complete the game and I don't even think I scratched the surface of it. I just loved the artwork in the game. For all I care, Capcom (or any other company) can continue making games with this kind of graphics and I'll be hooked. That's all. And those are probably the wrong choice of games for me at the moment too because I'm in school (night classes) and those are some fairly lengthy (addicting) games. I'm definately looking forward to Twilight Princess though.
So guys, how long has Jay from Clerks been one of Shanks's pirates?
Never watched that movie (I have no interest in that type of movie) but I do know who you're talking about though (by face anyway). Good catch. I thought Shanks looked freakishly weird here. Like his head don't fit his body or something. Hard to explain. I'm left with no opinion about this chapter. People are disappointed that this war is coming to an end within only one chapter. I felt it should've ended when
Ace and Whitebeard kicked the bucket
because everything just felt pointless at that point, but I can see where people are coming from. I just have nothing to say about it that's all. Stupid double spreads are still annoying though.

I enjoyed this chapter even though I didn't get my bankai... Curse you Kubo for these hangers. The Father, son confrontation is something that's been needed for quite some time since it seems Kubo's lost his touch for throwing comedy in the serious situations. I know we got some comedy from the vaizards but I didn't really find any of it funny. (Hiyori and Hitsu was funny though) I do wish something was asked from Ichigo just to give us at least one answer. I know everything will come in due time, but I want to know now... At least what division was Isshin the captain of. Still finding it hard to believe that SS forgot/don't know about Isshin and yet Aizen (maybe Gin) does. Definately looking forward to next chapter.

This was definately a disappointing chapter for me. I'm thinking a fight between Kabuto and Madara was about to break out and here we have Kabuto asking to join him. That sucks. I think we need a back story about the 2nd Hokage. Hardly know anything about the guy. I mean the 1st, 3rd, 4th and the 5th's had more exposure than the 2nd. Everytime the 2nd is shown he's shown as support for someone elses story. I just don't like Naruto's slowdown moments at all. I know they're needed because if you get too chaotic fighting, you get something like Bleach where it just seems like it's not going anywhere. Naruto's slowdown moments for me are boring. Nothing funny, and the only interesting parts are when they talk about battle plans (and even those tend to be boring) or training segments. This a probably be something I'll never get over. (That and actually liking Naruto)
I'd suggest you play Mass Effect 2, if you haven't already. Even if you didn't play the first one... this game blew my frigging mind right out of the water. I almost cried from awesome at the end. Gahh.
That's not exactly what I'm looking for at the moment, but thanks. Still quite the hard choice for me at the moment. The more I think about it, the more I lean towards Twilight Princess.

Ok, OB. I am having a hard time deciding what I want to get. Final Fantasy XII Suikoden 5 Zelda: Twilight Princess (Gamecube) Those are the games I'm having a hard time deciding between. One hand I'm leaning towards FFXII because it's the cheapest of the three. (I'd be able to get another game with it) On the other, Suikoden 5 and TP are games I really want to try out. Yeah, I'm stuck here. Hardest choice I've ever had to make when it comes to games.

Also of spoiler note. Gin vs Ichigo. Gin = Bankai. YAY!!!!

So I decided to read this from where Naruto first got back to the leaf (after Kakashi Gaiden). I'm just trying to piece everything together along with trying to see if I can enjoyment out of it if I read it all in one go. (Don't ask, I'm just curious about the idea since this guy at another forum kept implying that you get a better experience from reading it all in huge doses.. I'll be doing this wite Bleach and One Piece as well) Anyway, I'm currently on ch 319, and it's been interesting... I think I've made it known about how much I hate Naruto. Starting with the Rescue Gaara arc, that was definately a chore to get through because I hate how rash Naruto was during the whole thing. Even after getting used to it, I still get aggrivated by his rashness during this stage of the series. I enjoyed the fight between Sakura/Chiyo and Sasori, although I am split on it as well. I guess I was split on it because I was watching it on Disney XD this past Saturday (had a marathon on), and there were just so many stuff that was not needed at all, not to mention unreal moments... (Sasori shooting needles and neither Sakura or Chiyo would touch the ground.) But the fight itself was definately entertaining. It's sad too, because I really thought Sakura would've had some more shining moments and redeemed herself from the crap I put up with in part 1. I have to say Johnny Young Bosch sounded really good as Sasori too. (He should do more villainous roles) It's even hard to form an opinion about Lee and Neji because they've done nothing, even up to now and that's sad too because they were so great in part 1. They've slipped off so much that I didn't even care for them this time around. It's even sadder that Tenmari, one of the more dominant female characters in part 1 has be reduced to such a thing as well. (I've never liked Kankuro) Onto the meeting with Yamato and Sai. It's kinda hard for me to take Sai seriously. He could be one of the best characters in the Leaf but Kishi needs to do something about that wardrobe lol. Joking aside, he's a decent character now, but when reading this stuff when he first entered, yeah... With all the focus on Naruto and Sasuke as of late I completely forgot how great a character Yamato was. His faces were freaky, but at the same time pretty funny, and something about his wood style just has awesome written all over it. The fight between Orochimaru and Naruto was good, and I remember back when I first read this part of the arc that I dropped this series at this point. "GIVE SASUKE BACK!" Argh, that had me fed up with the series. Reading that now, while I still get a bit flustered, it don't have the same effect on me that it had then. (If anything Naruto going on about saving Sasuke is what's really getting to me now, although, I am glad that he's gotten over that crap) There's one thing I would've liked to have seen at this point. Orochimaru and Sasori duking it out on that bridge. Man, the what-if's this series brings to the table. I really think this fight would've been real interesting. Currently reading Naruto's training and stuff. Like I've said countless times, I hate Naruto, but seeing his training has always been an interesting point (even though his progression in meaningless to me, :)) to me. The detailed explanations of everything always gets me. I definately would've liked to have seen some side/off stories of characters doing training with different elemental recomposition properties. What type of methods would the characters go through to develop justsu's? Seeing just the wind type be developed has me a little disappoint here. Other nature properties seems like it would've been just as interesting, if not, more than wind. If Naruto's nature was earth, how would that coinside with the Rasengan? How would the Rasengan even look with earth elemental properties? What-if's, what-if's. I've stated before that this series savings grace is the villains and I still stand by that. Outside of Kabuto (I can't stand him), Orochimaru and Akatsuki are great characters. Now I'm off to read chapter 319.. Oh goody, I get to hear Naruto's determination >_>. Nah, it's been fairly interesting reading this again and collecting everything in at once. Nothing special though.

Two birds with one stone. I could kiss.. nevermind. Thanks for that post. Seriously, I've been trying to get an answer about XII's battle system for a couple years now, and I've been trying to find another game to buy along with Okami. Renewed interest for this game now :catgirl:

I'm surprised this was posted this late, mainly because I do recall seeing this at another site around December (Might've been January) On that seasonal chart, though, I think Iron Man is missing from it since the last time I saw that chart, I'm pretty certain that I saw it on there, but that's just a minor hiccup. I must admit that there are more shows that I'd actually check out this season compared to previous seasons. Seriously, I think for the last 3-4 seasons there were almost nothing but shows that seemed like they were just for people into fanservice or comedy. Give or take that those still seem to dominate this chart, at least there are more action oriented shows that look like it might suit me. I can't guaranttee that I'll actually watch anything, but these are the shows I'm definately curious about: Iron Man - While I'm not big on Iron Man at all, I do want to see how Madhouse will handle the comic. The artwork (coverwork) already looks great. Romance of the Three Kingdoms - I'm a sucker for chinese and japanese history stuff (despite me not watching Samurai Warriors... It seemed too comedic for its own good) Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan - Shinsengumi. Nuff said. House of Five Leaves - Manglobe = Samurai Champloo, although I am a little suspicious with this one since I didn't particularly care for their last title (Michiko to Hatchin) and hearing that the main character is on the naive side makes me a little uneasy since I can't stand those type of characters. Tales of Symphonia Super Street Fighter IV
So it does somewhat depend on what you're looking for. If you didn't like the battle system in XII though, then you may not like XIII - Paradigms are very similar to Gambits and in battle, you will need to swap Paradigms regularly on the fly. If this isn't your cup of tea, then XIII may frustrate you more than anything.
Now you're kinda scaring me away from the game. I've only played the demo for FFXII (a friend did say it was pretty different from the actual game itself), but I didn't care for it at all. What really gets me is your post from the Japan's not funny anymore thread.
Lately I've been playing Final Fantasy XIII and one character - Vanille - is such a ridiculously over-sexualised stereotype that it actually almost makes me angry. Her ability to giggle at completely inappropriate moments, or her frequent grunts, moans and groans (often for no apparent reason) become incredibly tiresome. So tiresome, in fact, that there are times where she almost single-handedly ruins the game for me. Not in terms of gameplay, but in terms of the story and characters.
The main reason I play RPG's in the first place is for the characters (and looking at the pretty magics, summonings and limit breaks if they're in the game), and it's bad enough that I haven't been liking what I've been hearing about Vanille, and I tend to have a low tolerance for characters like her. Seeing you say that it almost ruins the game for you is almost making me do a 180 and just leave this game alone. Lightning (or someone that gets a lot of screen time) would have to be even more of a dominating character for me to put up with her.

Alright people. Suikoden 5, I need some opinions about the game. Hardly anyone talks about the game, or rather, I've run into more stuff about Suikoden 2 (which I am not dishing $100+ for) and 3. And to be honest I'm split on which one to get (3 or 5), but I'm leaning heavily towards 5 because I like how it looks. (I've yet to see how S3 looks)

First, welcome Rune. That's a great post with some interesting/great points. However, there is one little flaw in one of your points.
they did not experience such an ability, nor were they able to perform a cero (which is why there was such surprise and even sideline warnings).
Shinji has fired a cero, and if I'm not mistaken so did Hiyori. http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Bleach/Maximum7/236/11 http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Bleach/Maximum7/236/12 http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Bleach/Maximum7/366/6 http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/Bleach/Maximum7/366/7 Well, it's not really flawed, but I thought you might've forgotten about that. Anyway, I think a post like this was greatly needed though. It just might have me read this from the very beginning (which I haven't done in a long time).

I could've sworn I posted my initial thoughts about the chapter. Again, it's hard to some people seriously when they make faces that look crazy. (First Luffy, and now Coby) The chapter was pretty good, and I'm agreeing with Nehszriah again about Akainu. Dude is a freakin douche. I like douches (Byakuya and Aizen are like the kings of douchery) but Akainu just comes off as a straight up ##### and he pisses me off.
Shanks appearance is top notch, but I still think Whitebeards was better.

Also, did nobody find it hilarious how Hinata was there alongside the rookies and she didnt get to say anything (ie. to Naruto)? Even Tenten spoke up lmao
I don't think she'd actually say anything in front of everyone considering she is the shy type. Shy people don't exactly get over that stuff in one or two sittings. As far as Kakashi becoming Hokage. I never thought he'd actually become Hokage to begin with (Not officially anyway). While he did say he was ready, I don't think he ever wanted to be Hokage to begin with. With the way he's been turned into nothing but fodder, and comparing him to other characters, he lacks that level of power that the other -Kages seems to bring to the table, but then again I do think Kakashi can mollywop the floor with Gaara, so maybe he can be Hokage... (Though, I can't really see Kakashi with that getup the kages wear... That hat and long trench/jacket thing) Tsunade awakening brings me back to my original question about Kakashi. What kind of action will he take? I don't like speculating (Because I suck at it lol) but I'll take a stab at it. I'm thinking Kakashi will tell Tsunade what Madara told them, and him and her will do a little bit of investigating on about the elders, and somehow this would lead to Tsunade's death (or in some kind of state where she can't fight anymore) and Naruto become's the next Hokage through that. (Told you I suck at that stuff lol)

I'm still trying to get my hands on either Persona 3 or 4 (or both for that matter). This is great news though. I am hoping that it'll be on the ps3. I don't have one, but I just like graphic upgrades. I'd like to see more cell-shaded games on the ps3.

Err.... This is why I choose not to read, watch, play anything for story. I never catch it. All I really got out of that entire explanation was Aizen planned everything, and now I'm left feeling like Ichigo here. (like a confused idiot) I can see Renji and probably Byakuya, but Kenpachi as planned battles? I need a better answers there. That is one bad### appearance from Isshin, though. I'm amazed at how small Ichigo looks compared to Isshin. The guy look like he can break someone in half with just his hands alone. And as I stated once before, I find it hard to believe that Aizen (and Urahara) is the only one that knew about Isshin.

Hmm... This chapter is like last week for me. Not bad, but not good either. (The slowdown moments generally tend to bore me) I am curious about a couple of things though. But the main one is with Kakashi hearing about the elders and Danzo, will he take any form of action, or rather, what form of action will he take? Another thing I found interesting was the talk between the rookies. People questioning Naruto and stuff. (People feeling the same way I'm feeling about this stuff) I'm still not convinced that he's not defending Sasuke. Although, the one I think that should've kept their mouth shut was Sakura. "Madara was there too. You're oversimplifying things"... Uh, no #####, you nullified whatever chances of killing Sasuke (while Madara was away) by putting the rest of your team to sleep. (Oh but she just so happened to leave that part out) I do believe Naruto is giving himself little credit (I can't believe I'm sticking up for this guy), and I'm agreeing with Neji and Kiba here. Sasuke being so weakened from both battles I do believe that Naruto would've definately came out on top, hell I don't think that fight would've lasted long at all either, but whatever.
One Piece is just so full of many different kinds of characters that it's hard to not like a whole herd of them.
This is definately true. Even characters like Usopp, Nami and Chopper (I'm not a fan of) bring that extra "pow" to the table. It's really hard for me to say that I hate a specific character in this series because the characterization in this series is handled nicely. (Perhaps too good) The only character that I can actually say I hate is Foxy and perhaps what's his name... (Springy legs guy)

Bout time.

Ichigo is agitated by Aizen's words. Furthermore, Aizen says he aided in Ichigo's growth because he believed Ichigo would become the greatest raw material for his own personal quest. 、 That the hollow appeared immediately after his meeting with Rukia; that the menos appeared because of the Quincy bait; That Rukia was discovered in the real world, and that the circumstances were well reported in SS; That in SS the captain class shinigami Ichigo fought all had strength comparable to his Ichigo's at the time. "Didn't you think those were all strange? " Ichigo swings his sword at Aizen but Aizen stops it with his palm. Aizen continues speaking. He asks Ichigo, "How could I know all the facts? Who do you think had Rukia stationed in the real world? Who gave Renji's equipment the ability to detect reiatsu? Who provided the Vice Captains with the information regarding the direction of your movements? Was I truly unable to pinpoint the location of the hougyoku for the past 100 years?" After he finishes Ichigo asks Aizen for the basis of his conviction that Ichigo would become his greatest raw material. Aizen responds, "It's because I knew you from the beginning, from the time you were born. In addition you were special from the moment of your birth. Because you are a shingami and..." Aizen stops mid sentence as Isshin has arrived. Until next week.

If Aizen actually "knew" about Ichigo that would make me think he's actually trying to draw Isshin out. (And him being the only one to know about Isshin just wouldn't make sense to me)
................. Still sounds pretty nice though

Nehszriah, I probably did hear that squee and brushed it off because my ears have been playing a lot of tricks on me as of late. (I swear, I think I've been hearing a lot of conversations about breasts and food) Anyway, originally, Zoro, Ace, Mihawk, Robin and Smoker were my favorites, and then Ace just totally dominated the rest of the cast for me until the unfortunate events, and, well there hasn't really been anyone else to fill that role until I actually went back and read the first chapter (watched Luffy's flashback) and noticed
Shanks
bad@$$ness. He's hardly been in it so I kind of forgot about him, but every time he's been in it he gives off that bad@$$, dominating pressence that I like in my characters..
Even more of a dominating pressence than Whitebeard
. I guess what utimately brought
Shanks
up as the top favorite for me is that he's just very mellow. Don't take anything too serious, and he has his funny moments too (Much like Ace and Zoro, although Zoro's reactions are what makes him funny, otherwise he's a fairly serious guy. Don't get me wrong though, I like my serious types though, but Oda nailed
Shanks
mellowness here)

For once I finally had a great day/night in class this evening. I understood the work, and whenever I actually needed help, I got it... (FINALLY! After 5 frickin quarters of not getting the help I need, I finally get it in the 6th quarter), although, there were a couple of times where I wanted to just haul off tell everyone to "STFU". People talk too much at the wrong times.

- Shanks halts Akainu's offensive with his blade, and picks up Luffy's straw hat - Shanks saysI have come to put end to this war.Was the one Akainu was attacking Coby? -Marine: It's Trafalgar Law!! A rookie from the North Blue!!! He's the co-perpetrator of Strawhat Luffy of the incident on Shabondy, and it seems he has come to rescue him on his submarine!! -Law: Hurry!! Get both of them aboard!! (too blurry to read the rest, it seems that marines are going to focus on capturing Luffy and defeating Blackbeard. Marines are coming out of the ground, there's a passageway there now, and Law's ship is being attacked by marine battleship)

- Blackbeard calls out Garp and Sengoku to fight him. - The Pacifistas have come over a crack in the plaza. - Smoker and Tashigi are helping injure Marines. Someone( Akainu?) tells them to leave them behind and focus on crushing the pirates. - Buggy throws Luffy and Jimbei at Law. Law orders his crew to submerge. - Kizaru arrive next to Law. Kizaru is distracted by Coby yelling. - Coby says he tired of this war. His fellow Marines are dying and need help. He says their objetive is complete the pirates have been push back and there no need to keep fighting. - Akainu doesn't like soldier who don't walk the path of justice like Coby. He attacks Coby only for his attack to be block by Shanks.
Yea....
If you can't tell, Shanks is my new favorite character.
I'm thinking about starting this series from the beginning, especially since I'm still willing to give the anime another chance (3rd chance, english version).
