56 episodes? Oh my.. I missed the last 5 episodes..? I thought there were only 51 episodes, no?
-
I skipped most of those bount episodes, but I did manage to catch a couple, and I agree. Uryuu was annoying and for the most part, an idiot. That arc could've been completely over with a few months early had he not went stupid on folks. However, I don't really care for him in the manga either. He nor Renji (or Chad for that matter) haven't done much of anything than become side show characters who've been turned into comedic relief or a waste of space. Ishida and Chad, after SS arc turned into boring characters to me.
Fourth Hokage? Kind of forgot about him. He's one of the better characters too.
Err... He's, nevermind. That might be an interesting chapter.

Ah, those giant hands that take you back to the beginning of the dungeon. They never really scared me, but I've had one of those "oh ****" moments. I gotta go back to Metal Gear Solid 2 though. When playing as Raiden
point the gun at Snake
.. That had my heart pound for a little bit when I first did that. The other part.. Playing as Snake,
when you're taking pictures of Metal Gear. And all you hear is "Intruder in the back".
I really hate that part because I keep thinking I'm caught or something. That's really about it, other than hearing about bosses that you hear are hard, and start worrying the moment you reach them and get that shot of adrenaline... (Sephiroth, Ultimecia, etc)

I don't even think the folks in this thread really care about Renji's sexuality, let alone care about the character himself, but at the same time it's really irrelevant. As for the Quincy.. Are you talking about Uryuu or the Quincies in general, botar15? Because Uryuu's alive and kicking. Standing there with Orihime, well, that's the last time I saw him anyway.

Hmm... While Bleach can be easy to probably get people into (teens), but if the person is anything like me when it comes to action, then Bleach is certainly not something you want to take a chance on. Rurouni Kenshin would be a better bet. (Just have them stop after the Shishiou arc is over lol) I also have to agree with Rach about knowing said people's interests. Don't want to take any chances on bringing people in on action if you know they're into the lovey dovey romance stuff. But then again, I've never took the time to try to introduce people to anime. XD

Wow, Care Bears... That certainly takes me back. I know my sister use to annoy me with that series. Especially with the whole "care bear stare" (that is it right? I can't believe I remember that...) Cartoons was pretty much my life back then, especially Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I use to try and collect the toys and stuff.. "coughs" Other stuff... Thundercats X-Men Spider-Man He-Man Darkwing Duck Mighty Ducks Looney Toones Scooby Doo Pup Named Scooby Doo Animaniacs Tiny Toons Tale Spin Ducktales Disney movies... (I'll just keep it like that) Captain Planet [strike]Power Rangers[/strike] I could probably sit here and name every cartoon that came on in the 90's, so I'm gonna cut that list short.
Becoming a Mod: Although I'm newer on the Mod list, it was certainly exciting to see that PM from Desbreko in my inbox. Now I don't think I could imagine OB without all my cool little mod powers.
Pretty much the same for me. Being asked to be a mod was quite a shock and honor as well. If ever presented the opportunity again, I'd accept too. Some of the stuff I saw about the staff was pretty wacky, so yeah... :) If you're wondering why it's so slow in the Arcade, it's because I scared everyone out of there. Reading Little Deaths is fun. Sharing crackpot theories with Gavin, Solo, and Raiyuu is pretty interesting yet entertaining at the same time. No ones been fangasming over this and that, so it's pretty easy to share theories with them. Ace is in a world of his own with his um, Naruto summaries. Otakupedia. I don't read it as much as I should, but everytime I did take a look, one name stood out. Altron Gundam. I know him as Sanosuke. Recca... I forgot those numbers in his s/n. I met him at another forum where err...
I use to play a little card game called yugioh... "coughs" (I was a bored soul back in 2002-2003.. shutup XD)
I didn't have much of an issue with him, however, as I read some of this stuff here and compare it to some of his stuff at the other place, that's definately him LOL. The giant ego, haha. I can't remembe the names that had an out with him, but I can only imagine what you went through.

I just haven't been feeling the Xbox 360 as of late, or rather, I've not been in a mood to play any games for the Xbox 360. Final Fantasy 7 - I don't wanna get my hopes up too much, but I want to say final-fricken-ly. My ps2 seems to be working again. Turned out that I just needed the cd/dvd laser lens cleaner thingy. Again, I don't want to get my hopes up because that seems too simple, especially when it comes to things working for me. Anyway, I forgot where I left off, I know it's somewhere at the beginning of the game. I just don't know if it's where I'm going to the next sector or Cloud meeting Aeris... I want to say the latter. Dragon Quest 8 - Again, finally, I get to finish this game (hopefully). Although I did start my game over for some reason. I don't remember why.. Perhaps it's because I was putting all my skills into swords when I wanted spears.. I don't know.. Probably something about the alchemy pot as well. Okami - I get to finish this game as well, although I'm not sure if I really want to. I love the visuals, but I kind of read ahead and
I'm animal sensitive... :o
Street Fighter Alpha 3 - Heh, did about a 2 minute practice session with Guy... Gotta get a new controller lol. Arm was getting crapped up and the up/down buttons has a bad response time. I'm thinking mighty hard about buying Final Fantasy 8 again too. First rpg I've played and beat. And I happen to like the junction system. I'm also thinking hard about buying Final Fantasy Chronicles again. Chrono Trigger was fun, and I'd get to try out Final Fantasy 4 for the first time too. Same situation with Final Fantasy Anthology except I'd be trying out both games for the first time. And then I'll probably see what the fuss is about with Final Fantasy IX.. (heh, get the whole PSX collection) We'll see.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Magus replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Another schedule change for adult swim for saturdays. 12:30 - Bleach (new) 1:00 - Bleach (new) 1:30 - Code Geass (looks like first episode) 2:00 - Code Geass 2:30 - Fullmetal Alchemist 3:00 - Death Note 3:30 - Ghost in the Shell: SAC 4:00 - Cowboy Bebop 4:30 - Big O 5:00 - Inuyasha 5:30 - Inuyasha "Sigh" I want Moribito back. The only shows I've been watching were GitS, Cowboy Bebop and Big O (Death Note every once in a while). And even though I can catch Code Geass from the beginning, I'm just not interested anymore. -
I know it's not fair to judge by one episode, let alone the 1st episode, but I dropped Michiko to Hatchin. That's one of the worst ways you can possibly start a show. There's nothing good, great, wonderful, awesome about seeing some little girl
adopted or whatever she was into a family, only to be treated like garbage.
I didn't like it in Rurouni Kenshin (RK handled it better imo though), and I don't like it here. (And whatever movie I've seen it in.) Yeah, that type of garbage pisses me off, especially when that person just decides to sit there a take it for so long. And by the time the little girl decided to retaliate was too little, too late. I was already tired of it. As I've stated, there's nothing hooking, nor interesting in that first episode to make me want to come back for more. And I don't think there's anything people can really say to persuade that either.
-
And here I was wondering if they're going to be starting from the beginning.
With Hughes being back in the Voice actor thingy
thread and all. Guess that trailer answers that question. So would it even be safe to call this FMA2 anymore? Look like a redo to me now. Btw, does that mean we can expect new english dub voice actors when it comes to the states? I liked Mustang and Lusts voice.

Would you look at that. There's actually a thread about favorite mangas. I thought I'd cast life on this thread just to see if some of these folks that posted before wanted to update their favorites. Basilisk - I'm more impressed with how the characters look in the anime, but the manga is no slouch either when it comes to artwork. I've enjoyed seeing every character except for Tenzen.
He just wouldn't stay dead for nothing.
While I'm not big on the romance that heavily surrounds this, I will say that it is presented well. Characters abilities should've been more fleshed out imo, but what was shown was pretty decent. All women except for Oboro (She got on my nerves greatly.) were great. They used their sex appeal as an advantage...
Kagero and Okoi truly stole the spotlight from Akeginu... [strike]Caught myself staring quite a long time at them too..[/strike]
And for once the characters are smart. I really dig characters that use their brains, no matter how big or small the situation is. Good read. Rurouni Kenshin - Kill off Misao and Karou and you would've probably had a perfect manga title here lol. I don't really remember the artwork too much, but I remember that I liked how Aoshi looked in the anime over his appearance in the manga... (I think he looked a lot like Saitoh in the manga) My other issue with the artwork was the blood. While not an entirely big issue, it looked a lot like dirt. Couldn't see where the cuts were coming from. The arc everyone wants animated. Err.. While it was good, and I'd definately take it over what I've been seeing in other anime of the genre, I feel it's a little bit overrated.
Seeing Enishi's Watojutsu style and all was nice. However, it just kind of went downhill when he started jumping in mid-air.
Other than that. No issues. One Piece - Ah, this one. At first I started out hating it. Dismissed it because I thought it was another kid's fantasy type story. While I do think it's still a kid's fantasy, I think it's presented very good here. Even the friendship theme that's been done to death (and I've grown to hate) is well done. The large cast of characters are really likable. There are a couple of gripes that I have with this one too. The first being the artwork. While there's been a major improvement in what the characters look like, I still don't really think the artwork is good. But the quirky artwork has grown onto me though, nevertheless. My other gripe is the long flashbacks. I don't care if it's for story advancement or character development. There's no excuse for having flashback chapters that last as long as 5-10 chapters. I've stopped reading flashbacks altogether because of this. Death Note - I've only read from the Yotsuba group onward. And while I think series like this are better on the big screen (because I prefer to hear informative series rather than read them) I've enjoyed this one greatly. (I hate Matsuda though.) People seemed to have issues with the 2nd half of the series
because of L's Death.
I was not affected and thought that the 2nd half with Near and Mello had just as much steam as the first half. (It's the anime's 2nd half that lost the steam because of a lot of detail that's been removed.) I really thought I wouldn't like this series because of the fact that there's no action in it whatsoever, and internet people always overhype things, but I was really impressed at how this turned out. Though, there were times where it got a little tiring.
Mainly every time Light had to say something about becoming the new God of the world
I found myself sighing at it. There you have it. Only 4. (I'm still expanding, so to speak.) Black Lagoon would be up there, but I haven't read enough of it. Even though I haven't read the last couple of chapters of either, I'll just say that Naruto and Bleach has been on a downward spiral. I've been enjoying Ulquiorra, but everything else is just "meh". Naruto... ugh.

I don't want to sound like I'm advertising or anything, but I read most of the mangas I come across at OneManga.

Excessive arguing.... I see nothing of the sort. If anything, we're just having a friendly discussion. A good ol' fashion discussion to keep the thread alive and active... well, sort of. (This is the OB afterall. We strive on discussion.) If you want to blame someone for the long essay-like posts, blame Kubo for not making any of this stuff clear. (CURSE YOU KUBO!!! XD) Edit: As for the latest spoiler. I swear, Ichigo is forever getting stabbed in the chest. He needs to start wearing some type of chest protector or something since he can't block attacks coming to the chest area.
-
What I'm saying about Ichigo's bankai is that people are making it seem like his bankai is giving him this big power boost. (Like his bankai = a SSJ powerup or something.) And I don't believe that be accurate at all. If his bankai give's him that kind of power boost, he should've been able to beat both Grimmjow and Nnoitra. (without his mask) Not to mention that he should be able to beat Kenpachi without his mask. But seeing how he and Ichigo drawed (he's already at captain level here), and Ichigo couldn't do a thing against either espada while in bankai, it leads to me to believe that his bankai don't give him that boost that people are claiming that he's getting. I mean if you think about it, Ichigo was already as strong as Kenpachi without a bankai... (In effect Byakuya drawed against Ichigo in bankai... IT ENDED IN A DRAW. I don't care what Byakuya told him. XD Which technically says that Byakuya with his bankai and Kenpachi are equals.) If his bankai gave him that big power boost people are claiming, then he should be stronger than both old man Yama and Aizen. The hollow mask would make him the strongest in the universe.... "coughs" As for Byakuya... I could counter that by saying Byakuya had just finished dominating Renji XD so it's an even playing field, but I'll give you that one. But as far as pulling punches... err... You can say both were pulling punches in the first 10 minutes or so. Ichigo being his cockyself while Byakuya was analyzing. But with that said, we agree about Ichigo being stupid (lack of knowledge and whatnot haha..)
Then two captains he's beaten before (and thus we assume have lower ability than him)[/size'] Hey... They drawed!!! XD
There are specualtions that the captains had received a huge power up. I would imagine so, but a huge power up like that in the matter of a month? (That's like that Time Chamber) Then again, who knows what they were doing when Ichigo first met Shinji and stuff. Edit: Botar, agreed, but at the same time, when you retreat like that, it kind of tells me that he knows he's the one that's at the disadvantage.

Alright Guilty Gear fans, this is for you. I heard on X-play that they (ARC System Works) were making this to combat Street Fighter IV. I don't think that's the reason at all. I think it's to make up for that crap that was Overture. The game is pretty much following the same fighting system that Guilty Gear had. I don't know about the roman cancels and stuff like that, but it certainly looks like it has it in the game too. (probably called something different) Still has the guard meter. Super moves (them one-hitters) can only be done in the last round and the opponent has to have atleast 20% of his/her health... That don't sound like I got that right so don't take that to heart. (I heard something like that on X-play) It's been stated that it's going to be on the ps3 and xbox 360. Just don't know when since it's hitting the arcades first.
Also, you all should be ashamed of yourself. Hinata did a very stupid thing, and when we guys do stupid things for a girl we expect to be rewarded with at least a phone number, fake or real doesn't matter.
Goes to show you that I don't do too much for anyone XD

I don't know. I think the problem is that people are reading too much into that one statement made by Ulquiorra. I think it's already been proven that Ichigo is a bit stronger than Ulquiorra with his mask and without Ulquiorra releasing. People are overestimating Ichigo with that statement and automatically placing Ichigo as superior or equal to Ulquiorra. The way I see this is like this. Ulquiorra is to Nnoitra (and others below him) is like what Aizen is to Komamura/Hitsugaya (Light years above them). This is only speculation though. And then while I'm thinking about it now, and I've stated it before. I think people are giving way too much credit to Ichigo's bankai. Sure it gave him a powerup, but I don't think it gave him that boost people are over exaggerating him to have. (And this is also why I believe Byakuya vs Kenpachi would end in a draw.) Byakuya stated something about Ichigo's bankai condensing his spiritual pressure to increase his speed.. (not the exact words) Untill the end of that fight Ichigo didn't do any damage to Byakuya. (And his hollow is what caused the damage) Grimmjow stated that Ichigo's bankai increases his speed. Sure, Getsuga got through, but it was nothing pretty much. [/rant] Had to get that off my chest.

I've watched up to episode 8 (might watch 9 in a bit) and I have to say that this has definately become one of my favorite. I take it back about Death the Kid being my favorites. Nothing against him.
I still like his need for all things to be symmetrical
. My new favorite is Professor Stein. From the way he fights to the way he acts is just awesome. He sort of seem like the Kakashi of the series. I've also come to like Maka's father (Can't remember his name). While I never had anything against him from the get-go, he just never did much to impress me.
Ragnarok was pretty fun to watch bully Krona around and whatnot.
Edit: I've also taken a liking to Tsubaki..
Having already given up on the Naruto anime a few months ago I'm giving Kishi five more chapters before I give up on the manga too. Though I like a lot of the ideas going on in Naruto, the way Kishi seems to be haphazardly butchering is not something I'm going to continue wasting my time reading.
Aren't you being a little too generous by giving him 5 more chapters? lol.
Then there's the fact that Tsunade is fairly nearby. She's drained and whiny at this point, but still, she might prove useful. We can't forget that once upon a time Kishi had characters pull through really terrible injuries.
Your hopes are set too high. Kishi's turned Tsunade into another damsel that relies too much on Naruto forgetting the fact that she "supposedly" can fight. She's just as useless as the rest of these cannon fodder characters. Edit: Oh yeah, I did manage to see a picture of Naruto and the bones... I'm not impressed. If anything this boy has truly lost his advantage now. I don't want to underestimate Naruto's fox, but at the same time I don't want to over estimate Pein either, but these folks are made for fighting them Jin.......ki thingy's.
-
Cowboy Bebop's a given. Paranoia Agent, I'm not so sure. I think that one is more of an acquired taste. Granted I've never seen it though. I'm just going by what I heard about it. Mainly that it's one of those mind-twisters... You're better off trying to start people off with Death Note.
-
That's also what I meant by repeat.
My biggest fault is that back when Ulquiorra and Ichigo met for the first time Ulquiorra himself openly admitted that there were times when Ichigo's power spiked higher than his although he doesn't elabourate whether this is pre or post resurrecion. That should mean that when Ichigo finally suppressed his inner-Hollow as he is supposed to have done he should have been more powerful than Ulquiorra (perhaps not by much but still enough to fight and beat him).
I think a lot of people have been doing that too. I tossed what Ulquiorra said out the window pretty much as soon as he revealed himself to be #4. (Actually, right after not taking any damage from Ichigo's Getsuga Tensho) I'm of the opinion he meant pre-release instead of post.
-
So what if Orihime gets hurt, power ups are fun, and Ulquiorra, dose look like a joke.
Power ups can be fun, for a little while... Not when it's for the same character though. Nor is it fun to see it repeating.
-
While I haven't read the chapter yet (manga break), I have seen a picture of Ulquiorra. It's messed up how one picture can change your thoughts about a character. This fully transformed Ulquiorra look hideous. Why couldn't he just have a Kenpachi-like powerup? He looks like a complete joke now. Good thing I decided to take the break when I did.
