This is just a cursory example of what schools neglect to teach. I'm actually a bit surprised you don't readily acknowledge the academic bias that exists for pro-West history and the strange disappearance of most other histories. I bet you can label a map of western Europe correctly, but not of sub-Saharan or west Africa. It's no poor reflection on you, but on the systemic problem that exists in schools and America at large.
This is so true. And as I've stated, it's the main reason why I grow tired of black history month. The same things are being taught each year. Atleast this was how it was back when I was in high school... (I don't know what the kiddies are being taught nowdays) And it was basically the same things I've already learned back in elementary school. Only difference was I had to do an essay. I'd probably be more supportive of Black History month if teachers actually taught something about Africa or something else besides Martin Luther King Jr, Fredrick Douglas, George Washington, etc... (Great people, and I respect and acknowledge all they did).

Ch. 435... Pein has the upperhand. YAY!
Is it okay that I'm rooting for the villain? lol
(I already know that in the end he's gonna die) Um, there's not much for me to say about the chapter. (Other than the usual... This fight could've been over already if this and that had occurred... But I think y'all deserve a break XD) Next chapter is probably going to be the one I'm interested in the most. Pein talks, and hopefully we hear what Pein truly is. I'm curious about what Ino's pop's thought of.

"Headsmack" I forgot about that game, and it's been on the rage for quite some time. I even managed to suggest it to someone to check it out (even though I never played it). Yeah, I have intentions on picking up the World Ends With You as well. Thanks for the reminder.

Pretty much a Nintendo DS only recommendation here. You can pretty much ignore the very first post. I rarely have any time to play console games, especially now that finals are coming up. (I know, I just said I was playing 2 games yesterday, but yesterday was a free day lol) Just a few rules though. Don't suggest Phoenix Wright series - I am well aware of how awesome the games are. I had Justice for All and Apollo Justice. I have every intention on buying these games again.
The lady with the whip is scary.
XD Music games - Pretty much the same deal with consoles. I don't play them. S/T RPGs - Like before, I'm not much of a thinker, and all that setting characters up and stuff... nah. I like to just get on with it. Chrono Trigger - Much like the Phoenix Wright series, I'm aware of it's awesomeness. It's just a matter of time when I get my hands on it. Pokemon - Err... I'll just say I'm not a fan and leave it at that. Everything else is pretty legit... (Although, I should say mario as well, but I think it's bout time I put my biasness against him aside lol) Edit: Oh... crap, forgot to say everything I played. It's not much though.. Sonic Rush (Honestly, I just don't care for Sonic anymore) Phoenix Wright: Justice For All Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney

I haven't had much time for games as of late. School and all. I restarted my game on Ninja Gaiden 2. I stopped playing for a bit, but decided to start playing again because of I saw some clips on youtube of some guy playing the game on path of the master difficulty setting, and just making this game look entirely too easy. So it was an inspiration to start playing again, so to speak. The main reason I started over, though, was because of where I last left off at. Chapter 12, facing off against 2 giant turtle thingy's. and after that
Zedonius round 2 surrounding by lava
... I had already forgotten how to play, a little... And to start off with a boss fight with another boss fight right after that can be a tad bit overwhelming. And then Devil May Cry 4. Last place I left off at, I was playing as Dante, and I beat Bael to get
Pandora
.

Hmm.. I'm thinking about getting the DS version, but seeing that I had the PS version at one point, would there really be a need to get this one? What's the difference between the DS and PS versions? I still may get it just because... Square should do a remake of FFVII and FFVIII on the DS or PSP. (I would need to get a PSP though) Prices are already stupid for FFVII, and FFVIII seems to be going up last time I checked amazon.

After the little random moment that was Alvin and the Chipmunks, I went to something more soothing.... Atleast I think it is... "shrugs" Precious is your Name - Chaka Kahn (Khan?) and Richard Smallwood. (Favorite song) That lady has some powerful wind pipes. (And she has a good voice... good stuff right here.) And then the choir just makes it sound even more soothing.

Problem Solving... I think I take college math 1 afterwards.. I'm at ITT just incase anyone wanted to know. And that's pretty much been my issue. Remembering the formulas.
And I will say this, in Tales of the Abyss, if you hate a certain character, no matter who it is...by the end of the game, you WILL feel bad for them. This happened to me with
Luke and Asch. I hated them both, but dang, I felt so bad for them, it isn't even funny. And having Mirrors play during their final scenes together didn't help, either...

To say you "WILL" feel bad for them... Hmm... So would that make me heartless to want to see him kick the bucket and not feel sorry/bad for them? XD
Asch, okay. I liked Asch, but LUKE.... [strike]F[/strike] err.. No, all the trash he said about... what're they again? (LOL) Clones.. err.. REPLICAS (there we go). Replicas shouldn't exist once they are already born or whatever. No I wanted him to die.

Oh my god O_O... You lost me at 'proportion'.
Same thoughts exactly when I was given the assignment (ratio actually). Apparently, the teacher teach us just enough to cover other stuff... (But leave off other types of problems that we don't cover at all..) They kill me with this "you should already know it" stuff... We're covering shapes now.... That length x width x height... crap... (PIE x whatever) I think I'm gonna die.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've read or dealt with anything involving Black History month. (They drove me crazy with it back in elementary... Teaching the same thing over and over. Doing the same research over and over.) Yes, I'm black, and while I do acknowledge everything that African Americans has been through, or done... or something, I do think we've gotten to the point to where Black History month can be dropped, or at the very least, shortened a bit. I mean, everyone's getting along as far as I've seen. Sure there's problems here and there, but I think people has matured enough.... Maybe I'm giving too much benefit of the doubt. :) "shrugs" disappears Edit: Ya'll some fast people... Ezekiel (I'm not too fond of history though XD) and Aaryanna_Mom said it better.
Yeah, there's a lot of emotion riding on the battle, and I don't think it's the place for humour. There was barely any when we got into the meat of the Rescue Rukia arc. Aside from moments in the infirmary and with Yoruichi, from Ichigo vs Renji onwards things took a turn for the serious.
Actually, on quite a few occasions, after that Ichigo vs Renji (rd 2) fight, there were quite a few comical moments. The tower, Ganju and Hanatoro getting to Rukia, Ichigo arriving on the scene during Rukia's execution
Football/Baseball anyone?
. Just to throw some out at ya. While they weren't seriously comical or anything, (I wouldn't have liked it if it had too much comedy and less action) just saying Kubo had a knack for throwing in comedic moments in a lot of serious situations.
Ichigo, Renji, Rukia... vs Aizen
As I've stated, though, it's probably just me seeing it as usual rival banter from the two. Edit: Oh, Aurgelmir, no it's not the end of Bleach, although, I can see Bleach ending in Dec of this year. Especially if this fight between Ichigo and Ulquiorra has a clear cut winner without the good ol' revival trick... Ulquiorra need to kill Orihime. He's certainly faster than Ichigo. Certainly, he can disappear, bust a quick stab to the chest of Orihime (Uryuu is cannon fodder, he doesn't matter, lol), and get back to fighting Ichigo. (/wishful thinking) Edit2: Spoilers...

Ulquiorra grows black wings. (murushierago) Murciélago (means bat in Spanish). The kanji means big demon with black wings. After the wings grow he attacks Ichigo and Ichigo gets his mask broken a little. Second part is the message from Kubo talking about Bakuman so not really a spoiler. The name Murciélago does mean bat but apparently there was a famous bull with the name and lamborghini even named a car after him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murci%C3%A9lago Mona @ 2ch The fighting goes back to Rukia, that Rudoban guy has an ability called caravelas that allows him to keep making new soilders endlessly.

Hmm and Grr... (at the same time. So it would be... Grrmm/Hmmrrr) Do we really need to go back to see Rukia and the tree? If Kubo's gonna go back to someone, go back and show me the captains vs the other espadas. She already had the cover... (blue sharingan... Sasuke style...) Don't need to see her fighting too.

Same here, and I'm not so certain that Blood+ did all that well here in the states. (no repeats) If anything, I found Kari to be more annoying as Saya, (Not so much as Riku though) but I blame the character for the annoyances, though, because Kari is very talented. I liked her more in IGPX as Satomi.
In that equation, if Y is large than 8, then x is larger then 6. If you plug 8 into y, you'll find that you get 8/4, whcih reduces to two. Therefore, you must set x/3 equal to 2 and find the x. x/3=2 (3)(x/3)=(3)(2) x=6. Since y cannot equal 8, x can't actually equal 6, but using the information we can find that if y is any higher than 8, x must also be higher than 6. Ratios are basically devision problems.
Wow, that's some good stuff right there. So I'm pretty much using the same stuff I would use for solving equations? Thanks a lot.

Not exactly sure where to ask this, but I need some help in math. (I haven't done math in so long) Ratio's... Proportions. I don't even think I was taught this back in middle or high school so it's a little new to me. Question. In the following proportion, if y is larger than 8, what statement can be made about the size of x? y/4 = x/3 I'm just now getting the hang of ratios/proportions and then this book want to go ahead and kill me with questions like that.
But I thought you didn't like SasuNaru?:smirk: *thinks dirty thoughts* (Hey, you brought it upon yourself.)
Let's not forget that's what Kishi has been implying as well. And I don't want to sound like a broken record, but as I've stated before, Sasuke is anti-girls and Naruto likes to turn into girls and wants Sasuke to come back so badly...
Maybe Sasuke'll adopt a child and implant Itachi's eyes into it...

Sai = Actually... Sai might work. Yeah, go for Sai. We'll all point and laugh until a few months down the line we realise it's actually working quite well, then eat our hats.
LOL.. "wipes tear from eye" I needed a good laugh. Yep, that just might work.
-
Hm, perhaps you're reading too much into it? Ichigo did give off a little smile/smirk after Uryuu was done talking, and retaliated with his own sort of banter. The difference this time around is that it's not funny as it usually is. (Seems as if Kubo's losing his touch with the way he uses comedy in serious situations.) But yeah, you should read the beginning. That kick Ichigo did to Uryuu into the hollow was funny. :) Edit: Ok, maybe it's just me that's not seeing what everyone else is seeing lol.

Like Soul Eater, Fairy Tail is another one that's been popping up as of late. Anyway, I'm only on chapter 4, and I have noticed some of the similarities between Fairy Tail and One Piece, mainly through Natsu and Luffy at the moment. I suppose, like One Piece, this is not going to hook me instantly during this 1st arc? One thing I see that Fairy Tail has going for it is the artwork. It's a lot better than how One Piece started out, with the quirkiness and whatnot. Anyway, as stated, Natsu definately has Luffy's personality, but he (Natsu) has
Ace
written all over him. The other cast of characters are intriguing. I'm curious to see how these Gray and Ezra people fight. (Going by the description by the TC) I look forward to seeing how this is going to turn out.
Can someone explain to me why Ichigo and Uryu were such male reproductive organs to each other for no apparent reason?
That's the way their relationship has always been. Good friends (rivals) who talk trash to each other as well.

I believe I might've done that once. I had a craving for Dragonball Z for an entire day or 3(well, almost) and decided that I was going to watch whatever I had on VHS, (What? I'm old school XD) which I believe was the Cell Games and parts of the Buu Saga. The game of choice at the time was DBZ Budokai 3, seeing if I could ever get through them whatchamacallits... (without taking damage) Some part of the game where you fight characters at different levels. 99 being the highest. That was where I experienced a cheating Goku.
I adore Soul Eater. With a passion. Though I don't read the manga. I personally prefer the anime, for a couple of reasons: 1. the animation and voices, of course, but I prefer the anime design of the characters 2. they slightly expand some of the events in good ways (ways that wouldn't be considered filler, at least compared to the bit of the manga I read: See the Jack the Ripper fight from the first chapter, and compare it to the anime, and that's pretty much what I'm talking about. 3. Way less Fan Service, if I recall, though most that I recall in the manga were making fun (Black Star's peeping, Maka.

I've been reading a bit of manga lately. One Piece - Really good series. Glad I decided to give it a fair chance this time around too, because last time I tried to, I shrugged it off as another one of those kids fantasy type things, (It still is a kids fantasy) but it's more entertaining than what Bleach and Naruto has to offer. The friendship theme has been done to death, and quite frankly, I'm tired of it, but the way it's presented here, it's on point. Refreshing. The strongest point in this series is the characters. While quirky, majority of them are likable. At first I didn't like Luffy because of his reckless nature, but even he's grown onto me. Nami even has her moments.... (You'd think she'd be your typical damsel.) Bleach - "Sigh" As of late, I'm really losing interest in Bleach. I already don't care about the anime anymore, and now the manga seems to be going down the drain as well. Don't get me wrong,
I like the fact that Ichigo is duking it out with Ulquiorra, and I liked seeing all the espada's numbers revealed.
What I don't like is none of this is going anywhere. I like fights (watching them), but I don't want to keep reading a fight each chapter. Bleach's characters are likable (a large few anyway), but it seems as if Kubo's forgotten about his other characters.
I want to see more Urahara, Shinji, etc...
Naruto - Heh, I should've stayed away from the manga when I said I was done with it. (the very first time.) It's good to see that Naruto is using his head (somewhat), but everything else is just basically "meh". Kishi's forgotten about all his other characters, and even then I don't care about most of them. Soul Eater - Here's one of the newer ones I just recently started. I chose to read it instead of watching it because I'm waiting for the dub. I've only read the 00 chapter, the prologue I guess. It was basically introducing the main characters. It's an interesting take on males and females.. The girls are the more level-headed, while the guys are more wacky. Death the Kid is probably the wackiest I've seen.
No one gets depressed about things not being symmetrical.
The weak point of this series, though, is that it looks like it's going to be heavily packed with fanservice. Each character has already ran into a naked woman, and it's only the prologue, so I can just imagine what the actual chapters are going to be like. Other than that, it's really good. Fairy Tail - I just read chapter 1 about 30 minutes ago. I don't know too much about anything at the moment, but from what I've read, it is impressive. I probably will continue with it. Why does these characters look like the characters in One Piece? Someone's tracing characters? I just might drop Bleach and Naruto for Soul Eater and Fairy Tail.

Lets see. I'm not great with explaining things, so I'll just borrow ANN's description. "In a world where technicians wield the select humans who can turn into weapons, Shinigami-sama created a school to teach young technicians and their shape shifting partners what it means to be a just death god. In order to create the ultimate weapon, the students of the school must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch." As stated in the anime thread, I'm just now getting into this series, and I think it's pretty good. I've only read the 00 chapter, and it seems like all 3 main characters has been introduced along with their weapons. Maka - Out of the 3 characters, she seems to be the most level-headed, but she has her moments as well. Black Star - This guy is just an idiot. He's certainly the equivalent of a certain idiotic ninja that wears orange. Same personality and everything. Only difference between the two is that this guy can be funny, and when he gets serious, you can actually take him serious. I'd be real happy if his weapon left him for someone else. Death the Kid - My favorite out of the 3 characters at the moment and the funniest, but something is definately wrong with him.
Getting depressed and/or pissed because something's not symmetrical... And the fact that he left his weapons side to check to see if his picture frame was lined up perfectly....
Are you serious? Soul Eater Evans - I don't know why he has shark-like teeth. He's Maka's weapon, and he turns into Scythe blade. Tsubaki - She definately don't need to be with Black Star. She's too level-headed. In any case, she's turns into all types of ninja weapons.
So far I've seen her turn into a Kusarigama, a big ninja star, a smoke bomb and small dagger.
Thompson sisters - They're Death the Kid's weapon, and they turn into handguns. It's certainly been interesting so far, and it has the potential to become a favorite. (both manga and anime) The artwork, while quirky, is pretty good. The only thing I really don't care about is that this seems to be loaded with fanservice. Each scenario, or introduction or whatever showed a girl being naked. It's funny how it's used here, but at the same time, if there's too much of it, it can become a turn off for me. I'm already aware that the anime branches off of the manga, so I really don't expect to see any disappointments once FUNi releases the anime. Anyway, anyone else been reading the manga, or read the manga already?
full-nelson-no-jutsu.
LOL. I've heard it all. First the dubs "mastery of the pursuit jutsu", and now that. I think I would die laughing if the anime actually uses that too.
Gotta kinda take it all in stride, I guess. I'd rather hang out with the anime nerd over the football doucher any day.
I don't know. Anime/videogame fans can be even more ridiculous than football fans. Then again, this is from what I've seen online. Football fans tends to be more reasonable than both anime and videogame fans. All the bitten heads people get just for not liking a certain anime or game.... I don't want to derail the thread too much since I can see the comparison could lead to other stuff, so I'm gonna leave it alone now lol.
