I only asked about FFXII's battle system is because I heard that FFXIII was suppose to be somewhat similar, and I was intending to edit my post because I read Des's post in the E3 thread about the FAQ for FFXIII being on the 360, and that practically answered my question.. somewhat. A combination between both FFX and FFXII. As far as summonings. I meant to say there were summonings in FFXIII? :animeswea Should've been more specific. (for both summoning and battle system) I mean I saw the harp lady, but I just assumed that was someone playing music. _________________________________ EDIT: Thought I'd bring this back a bit since there's an article about it IGN talking about the gameplay. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/948/948799p1.html
But what of the gameplay? Initial impressions are that the combat system will be a natural progression of that seen in Final Fantasy XII, with players cuing up turn-based-style attacks that then play out almost in real-time. The effect is nothing short of spectacular with the battles looking more dynamic and action-packed than in previous Final Fantasy games. There seem to be hints of Kingdom Hearts action as well, given how Lightning knocks an enemy skyward and jumps up to follow it, continuing the combat while airborne.
[strike]I suppose I have to see it first before giving judgment, but this also makes me even more skeptical seeing how I do not like FFXII's new style of battle. Hearing that it's a smidget bit like Kingdom Hearts sorta cures my skeptism, but not really. I'll edit this post once I see the video that they're talking about.[/strike] Edit 2: The hell with that. I just looked at the trailer that they were talking about, and I'm gonna get this game just because... LOL. (Them graphics are crazy) The gameplay looked pretty interesting. (Look sort of like what I've seen in Star Ocean 4) Was the gameplay in XII like this?

Heh, I don't know any japanese voice actors. So I don't have much of a choice but to be obvious here lol. Steven Blum - Most notably known as Spike (Cowboy Bebop) and is currently doing the voice of Wolverine in Wolverine and the X-Men. The only time I didn't really care for his voice was when he was voicing Kazuma in S-Cry-ed. (how is that suppose to be pronounced anyway? lol) He just don't sound right doing all that yelling or trying to sound all nice, and whatnot. Crispin Freeman - Haha, I first heard this guy as Alucard in Hellsing, and boy, he practically turned the name of that series into Alucard. Sure there were other great characters but none of them really had much of an impact on me the way Crispin did Alucard. And he really knows how to bring out the emotion in his characters... (He's the reason why I watched Eureka 7) Mary Elizabeth McGlenn - I hope I got that right. [strike]Seductive voice[/strike] The Major in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. She's like the Kirk (or is it Kurt?) Thorton of anime when it comes to detailed/thought provoking anime. She just sounds good when talking about err... stuff. lol Kirk/Kurt Thorton Chuck Huber Can't remember who does the voice for Roy Mustang, but
That day, all female officers will be required to wear... TINY MINISKIRTS!
had me sold. Hehe.

So I just started watching Black Cat on demand. (don't have anything else on there to watch at the moment.) For the most part it's pretty decent, but I am wondering where did
Train's sudden personality change come from?
I'm up to episode 8 by the way. It's like there's something missing right when
the girly-girl that was stalking Train died
and the
small girly-girl was being attacked by the player-ish #
. Perhaps it's all the sulking you usually see people go through or something. I just know in the 8th episode (I think) this guy turned into something like Vash... (an idiot) Other than that, it's pretty decent so far. Not sure if I'd say I like it at the moment though.

I voted no. I never saw a point in the reputation stuff. Even though I always seemed to get mashed with negative reps for not liking ______ . Kinda got on my nerves, but at the same time I laughed at it... "shrugs".
Usually my pants contain:

Cell phone
Cash
Change
Chapstick of some kind of form

This, and I also carry some type of gum... Heh, I'm not ticklish. You'd have a better chance trying to tell a corny joke to get me to laugh. Has anyone seen the spoilers for this weeks chapter? I hear that Naruto's finally using his brain. =O Perhaps I will finally start giving this boy his props afterall.
Evangelion: Dear. Sweet. God. Just how bloody depressed was the person who wrote Evangelion anyway ? Now I have mild OCD (Or CDO to put the letters in alphabetical order) so I'll finish out a normal 26 episode anime even if I don't care too much for the story or character. With Evangelion however, I managed 4 episodes before I simply could not muster the will to continue. Having actually read spoilers of the ending I'm unsurprised there is not a happy ending for Shinji and Co.
Haha, people that actually share my thoughts about Evangelion. I'm with SunfallE here. Even I don't know how I manage to get through that entire series. I was already ready to put a hole in my tv during the 2nd episode. People really need to take into consideration whether someone would like that series before suggesting it simply because it "defines" anime. (I could shoot the person for saying that to me.) Unless someone is looking for something that's depressing, I would/could never suggest this series to anyone. I haven't watched anything lately that I'd call bad seeing how I've been on the cautious side with some of these shows on tv. Mainly Gundam 00 and Gurren Lagann. (which I may give another chance) Code Geass can fit here as well. Edit: I take that back. Shin Chan is something I just saw, and I only have one question. What. is. that? >_>

There's controversy? Or is it the casting that you're talking about? Edit: My bad... Didn't know that was a link. Edit 2: First thought that came to mind... LOL at the picture. Now that's out of the way. Err.. I do see why people are upset, but then again "shrugs". It is hollywood afterall, so I really didn't expect anything good when I heard there was going to be a movie in the first place. Honestly, I already don't have any intentions on watching the movie, so obviously the casting choices don't phase me. (Jesse McCartney with a burned face is still in my head though.) Is it just Aang people are upset about, or is it the cast in general?
Another type of weather I like is thunder storms. One thing I did like about living in Texas was the fact that every other night in Summer we had huge thunder storms that the ones in New York couldn't hold a candle too. The lightening was so close the hair on my arms stood on end. It was great! Plus no tornados- wee.
You're a thrill seeker, aren't ya? I couldn't live in Texas for nothing. (nor Nebraska, Ohklahoma, Kansas, and.... something's missing) It's bad enough the storms in Detroit can get crazy, but I hear that we have nothing when it comes storms compared to the storms in tornado alley..... The sheer thought of living there forces me to take my hat off to people that're already living there. (Bravest people in the world lives in those states.) Anyway, as I've stated, Detroit can get some stupid weather. Keep bouncing between average temps, to below freezing. I'm a cold-type of person so it don't really bother me, but for the tempts to keep flucuating like it has been.... Well, I take that back because this year wasn't nearly as bad as last year and year before that... 60-70 degree's in the winter? That's freakishly scary type stuff right there because you know a tornado outbreak is bound to be on the way. I also like rain, but I don't care much for thunderstorms mainly because we're always caught in them while we're out fishing or on the road... (What's the point of the news when they feed false info?) I like snow, but I hate it when I have to go shovel it lol. I hate heat. Any type of humidity, and it gets uncomfortable for me to sleep, and the next day I'd be pissed because of little to no sleep.
And Fayt was my favorite character from the previous game. XD I can't tell if that video gives that type of feel or not. And though I wouldn't mind, I'd prefer someone different just cause that's usually more fun. As for the release date. Even if it's only a little sooner, I certainly won't mind that either. I'm looking forward to playing this game. :catgirl:
Well, I didn't get too far so I didn't get a chance to see all the characters. But I think Cliff (?) was my favorite at that time. I suppose if Fayt wasn't so naive then I probably would've liked him more. And while I didn't get that feeling about Edge during that video.. (I got it from the 1st trailer actually. I have to watch it again just to make sure. It could be a case of just being too skeptical. XD) As I've said though, I'm not going to judge him just yet. He can be a completely different type of character from Fayt altogether. I agree with you about the release date. While I'm not as anxious about it, I do want to see what it's like, and more than likely I'll be getting this very late since I plan on getting Street Fighter 4.

Let's see. Songs dealing with bling bling, dissing people (I still listen to a few folks here and there), cars... etc You get the jist of where I'm getting at. And I suppose you can say the whole rap genre now too. I mean I grew up listening to it and did like it for quite some time, but once you heard 1 song from back in the mid 90's you've basically heard all the songs that're being played now. (Outside of a few songs) Yeah, it use to be pretty good back then, but for once change it up or just bury the whole genre already.
And I can safely say that this was the weakest of the three. That being said, see it anyway because the sheer laugh factor at un funny moments makes it totally worth it.
Haha, that sounds just like something my sister would say. It's something we both get a kick out of. (laughing at scenes that weren't meant to be funny.) Anyway, I lost interest in this series after the 1st movie. While the first one was pretty good, I had no desire to see the 2nd movie even though I took a few glimpses at it. And like the 2nd movie, I'll probably take a few glimpses, but I don't intend on watching this movie. My folks will probably get it on dvd though. That lady look familiar..... One Tree Hill?

My mp3 player is currently playing How we Roll - Alvin and the Chipmunks... "cough" Don't look at me like that. I'm having a random moment.

Thought so. Turns out that Resurrection is a movie instead of another 5 episode (or " " episode) series, which will be airing on Spike TV tonight at 10pm eastern time. Edit: Wow, that was awfully confusing. I also managed to catch the series from the beginning as well. Storywise, I suppose it's about vegeance, but then again, I don't think the creator(s) were aiming for a story. It's more like an action game. You know, it tells a horrible or decent story, but the fighting is where it shines... That's how I see it anyway. Speaking of fighting, wow, that was some of the best sword fighting I've seen in a long time. Is this the same Gonzo company that made Samurai 7? IMO, it don't even feel like it because the fighting was up there with Karas, Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai Champloo. Actually, it felt a lot like Samurai Champloo with the hip hop thrown into it and whatnot. I kind of chuckled a bit at all the
robots
. They kind of felt out of place with the setting and whatnot.. [/nitpick] Another thing that blew me away was the visuals. Again, is this really the same Gonzo that did Samurai 7? Some of the characters were hideous (well, not hideous, but ugly), but this was a visual masterpiece nevertheless. Looking at the water and scenery had me in awe. They could've done away with the fanservice though.. >_> But then again, this being on Spike TV, I guess it wouldn't feel like a "manly" series without it. Characters.... err... who were they exactly? Voice work. I suppose it was pretty decent. It was nothing major, but I didn't really care for Lucy Lu in this. Perhaps it was the writers fault though. Overall I give it a solid 4/5. Edit 2: I was talking about the whole thing in general instead of talking about the movie itself. XD

Here's a new trailer. Y'all gonna have to show me the tags for url as well as videos lol. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44763.html It's truly looking more and more impressive. As I've said before, I'm not the biggest fan when it comes to SO3. Fayt practically killed my experience (and perhaps, too much of a complex battle system for me.), and with this new leading character (Edge Maverick), I can't help, but feel a little iffy. He kind of gives off that same type of personality that Fayt does... I won't judge him on it yet though lol. Apparently, its set release date is Feb 24 2009 instead of Mar 3.
Well, it's easy to say Dan sucks, but you gotta remember, he's a joke character in every sense of the word. It's fun to play as him, but he does have strategies and moves just like everyone else. Winning with Dan really isn't a joke as much as it is a challenge. Alpha 2 Dan wasn't half bad though...
Yeah, I'm well aware of Dan being a joke character, and I agree that it was fun to play as him from time to time. We just couldn't ever finish a fight because of the noises he would make (YAHOO!!!), and laughing pretty hard. I think it was Alpha 2 where we heard that for the first time.
I hear you on the PS/ Xbox controller though, Magus. Those things are horrible.....the 360 controllers anyways. But I wish I could get a Sega Saturn controller. Those things were made for fighters, imo.
You're the 6th person to say the 360 controllers were bad... I should probably go in here and check out these controllers and see what everyone is talking about. I haven't really paid attention my controllers since I just use the analog part... (Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry and whatnot) I also liked the Saturn controllers (Not that big clunky controller though.)
-
I don't think anyone talks about Dan because he's not really all that good. Atleast I don't think he was. I know everytime me or my brother chose him, we'd always bust out laughing and could never finish the fight. So what system/console will people get this for? I'll be going with the 360, not like I have a choice in the matter lol. If I had a ps3 too, I'd probably get it for that over the 360 seeing how I'm so used to playing the Street Fighter series with the PS controller. (Especially with me coming off of SFA3.)

Still playing Ninja Gaiden 2. I just beat the 11th chapter. What the heck were they thinking giving
Genshin his own Izuna Drop
? He's already crazy upclose, and to give him that technique makes him even more scary lol. Finally got my hands on Devil May Cry 4. I've been playing it for about 5 hours now. Even though I'm on mission 4. I've basically been going back to the 1st 3 missions collecting orbs so I can build up on my skills and items. (Top out at the 5 hour point now.) Err... I've heard a lot of people don't like Nero. I have no issues with him. I think Nero's like, what Raiden was in MGS2. (On the receiving end of negativity because people wanted more Solid Snake) I think Nero's a good character so far. In any case, it definately has the DMC3 feel to it, and that's not a bad thing at all. Heck, I never grow tired of playing DMC3, and I don't care how many DMC's come out, if it follows the exact same trend, I think I'll like it regardless if it feels the same. And then there's the graphics. Wow, I was really blown away when I saw how good the outside area looked in mission 2, and even the cut-scenes look really good. DMC4 is currently my favorite game on the Xbox 360 (with DMC being my favorite series.)

So, what if Mr. 3 and Buggy joined the Strawhats...? heh. That'd be interesting. Now, while I'm not on that Buggy bandwagon, (Because I still don't see what's so great about him) but he's a funny guy. And then seeing how the strawhats has put teamwork combinations into play, I can only imagine the teamwork that Buggy and Luffy could come up with.
Sir Croc? I wanna call him Killer Croc so bad lol.

There is supposed to be a movie out in 2010- yeah next year, a year after the show is finished. And I've heard it's supposed to be live action.
Yeah, about that movie. It's suppose to be directed by M. Night Shamalan (sp?), and as of right now, I forgot the other people, but Jesse McCartney's going to be Zuko... I already feel that the games, anime, cartoons should be left alone if it's not going to be CG. And I'll leave it at that.
Book 2 and 3 have to be my favorite seasons. Mainly because Toph is my favorite character and the plot twists and the major character development in book 3.
Agreed. Well, not so much on plot twists, then again
Roku being Zuko's great grandfather
was a bit of a shocker to me. But yeah, Toph is one of my favorites (Toph, Zuko and Iroh) as well. From the way she fights to her sarcasm, she's a fun character.
-
I better be smelling sarcasm there...
And if it wasn't? (It was, you can rest easy, lol) If I'm not mistaken, when Jedi Pein destroyed Konoha, wasn't there some type of side effect? If Pein is a smart character, I can easily see him using a tactical retreat in this current situation. "shrugs" I want to see him stomp a mud hole in Naruto though.
-
They really didn't tear her clothes that much. It hardly seems worth shouting about, heh.
I realize that now after seeing the chapter. Reading spoilers with no pictures, one can only imagine what's being ripped. But as you said, it's not worth mentioning now. I don't have much to say about Orihime. As I've said before, I can live without seeing Orihime. Possibly the nicest character in the story, but unfortunately, I've never been a fan of damsels.
-
Hang on a sec, let me just... Aah yep, there it is :P You can't complain he's unrealistically haxxored and then complain that he's not powerful enough to destroy the last, most powerful of the bodies that he'd already defeated five of. Had we had a greater build-up to the development of Naruto's powers (i.e., the series focusing on NARUTO, such is its name, than Sasuke), this bit wouldn't be so bad. I'm quite enjoying it at the moment.
You misunderstand. (Perhaps it's my way of wording.) I'm not saying he wasn't powerful enough. I'm saying he's stupid for using such an attack that possibly left him powerless. I'm asking too much here, but I would've preferred him to use his head a bit more when using such attacks instead of using those attacks to please the fans. Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit when saying he's powerless. Who knows, Pein might actually retreat. :)
-
The Rasenshuriken had the potential to take out all of Pain's bodies at once. If you've got a potential one-hit battle win like that up your sleeve, you'd be an idiot not to use it. Quit your hatin', everyone. The Rasenshuriken is cool and you know it.
Was cool. (Is, for everyone else, probably. I don't speak for everyone.) As I said before, I've grown tired of seeing the Rasengan. Seeing it being thrown at this point, while it's nice to see some variation (and we all knew it was going to be thrown at some point) I'm just not impressed. So... If Naruto missed all those bodies with that attack and sage mode couldn't last afterwards, then what? It's a double-edge sword that shouldn't have been used liked that. And now look where it's got him. Sure it's down to one last body, but in the end he didn't get the job done. Unfortunately, I won't quit hatin until I get something good. So, yeah, cheers to ya :)

I don't collect manga's since I do all my manga reading online. But my sister bought me Death Note volumes 3 and 4 for Christmas back in 2007. She also bought Samurai Deeper Kyo volume 1 for me a long time ago. I think back in 2003 or 2004.
