I agree with Gavin. I've only watched an episode or 2 of the Hueco Mundo arc, and I didn't see many things that could've been edited. Nel's scantly clad body was pretty much identical to that of the manga, I think. And from what I've seen on adult swim, I don't recall anything being edited. Blood shown in it's full glory. If anything, that's all the anime is about... Halibel does up it a bit in terms of editing, but I can still see how it'll be pulled off. More than likely the mask (not her face part) won't be fully shown, with the nipple parts being covered by her shirt/jacket thingy, but enough will be shown so you can see where the 3 is tatooed at. (I think a lot of them models that wears the cowgirl jackets posing with no bra shows what I'm trying to describe with Hali.) __________________________________ Finally, 340 is out, and it's about time too. Seem's like it's been forever since a chapter's been released. In any case, this is like DBZ, sort of lol. Ichigo withstanding a cero from Ulquiorra (looks like from close range) should've put him out of his misery. This just might be an even fight now. Seeing Ulquiorra using a sword just don't look right to me. I'm so use to the guy fighting with his barehands. Why is Rukia fighting that captain thing that looks like a tree now.. (He's sprouting branches.) Kubo's really trying to push her to be strong as a vice captain when she's a crappy fighter. Now I'm just waiting for One Piece and my week will be completed even though I refuse to bother with a certain pathetic ninja.

Tales of the Abyss - I don't know if the main story is 100 hrs long, or if it was because I a bit of level grinding. I just know that I've hit the 100 hour mark. I traded it in already because I can't tolerate Luke again. I'm not much of a completionist either so going around trying to collect this and that as well as seeing every single monster is out of the question. Guilty Gear X2 - Mainly because I was doing the time release thing. Other than that I didn't really play it much. Especially with Dizzy's story being so freakin hard. (I already suck when it came to using her from the get go.) I traded this in too. (I'm more Street Fighter)

Anime I need help in finding a new series to watch
Magus replied to Vigilance's topic in Otaku Central
You're on your own with the romance and comedy genre. (Can't stand them) But as far as action goes (gun blazin) you can't go wrong with Black Lagoon. If I'm not mistaken, there's a shootout in every episode. (Or almost every episode) There's also a lot of profanity. And another heads up incase you decide to check it out, if you're sensitive to a few subjects (race, church, etc) then it might not be for you because it bashes to the bone. -
Ah, alright that makes sense. And I'm finally caught up on everything. That was long. And to think, although I've never read it, Inuyasha ended with 558 chapters. It's no doubt in my mind that One Piece is going to exceed that, but I'm wondering how long will One Piece actually turn out to be. The flashbacks has slimmed down a bit, but I can see it hitting, heck, even surpassing the 700 mark. That might be a bit much for me to handle though. We'll see when the time comes though. Uh..
Hancock
is an interesting yet funny character. I don't know where they got the idea to
look up to talk down to people
, but you can't help but chuckle at that. (even though it's stupid.) It's too bad Sanji (I feel so sorry for him LOL) didn't arrive there though.
Having Robin work hard labor is just not right. (I'm a Robin fan dangit) Should've had Zoro to be there.
[/rant] The only people I think that ended up in decent spots were Zoro, Luffy and Nami.
Eustass (kind of name is that? How do you even pronounce that?) Kid and Trafalgar Law
are a couple more favorites.
Buggy, awesome?
I'm not seeing it. But then again, I'm not that easily satified by a simple punch like that. Now if he had a "flash step" or something of that nature, I might think differently.
I want to see more of Fire Fist Ace fighting, and I want to see what Shanks is all about.
This is truly shaping up to be like Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End... somewhat. Now we just need a Jack Sparrow.
Whitebeard
= Davy Jones guy... That was his name right? Edit: I knew there was something else I wanted to ask. How far is the anime behind the manga?

This keeps on getting more and more interesting. More comparisons before I get into the good stuff. Another thing that I've noticed that One Piece does fairly well is keep you intrigued. The slow down moments (not counting the flashbacks since I don't read them.) keeps you entertained by the craziness that's going on within the crew, or bringing in new characters, or giving explanations about even more (new) powerful characters. Bleach does this to an extent, but their slow down moments tends to be pretty boring once it gets dragged out for too long. You're left begging for something to jump off. Naruto's snags are even more drastic because things get even more stupid with there focus on ONE character for so long till you get fed up with it. (or come close to it.) With that being said, I'm now at ch. 499.
Getting to the Supernovas (it's Sephiroth's attack... It'd kill me if there was a character like him in this.)
and whatnot.
Of all the people from the Arlong crew the octopus comes back.
Oh well. It fits seeing how he is quite the friendly guy lol. Take it back a bit.
Brooke
is an idiot. (Funny type way) I don't know how many of you watch or know of Jeff Dunham, but he (
Brooke
) reminds me of the puppet, Achmed the dead terrorist... (Achmen/man....? "shrugs") And I can just picture his voice sounding the same way. Having an Arabic accent and everything.
Thriller Bark
was very interesting. I almost died laughing seeing
Sanji as a zombie dog-ish penguin type thing.
If word got out that Luffy defeated
Gecko Moria, would that make his bounty go up even higher? Being a former shichibukai and whatnot
. I also need an explanation, sort of...
Kuma guy took all of the pain and suffering from Luffy and put it in Zoro. It was said that he can die.
I can understand why he didn't die, but what was the point of that?
Nightmare Luffy was interesting.
I don't know why I'm just now noticing it... Well, I really started noticing it around the end of Water 7 / Enies Lobby, but Luffy is starting to remind me a lot like Goku.
(With these 2nd and 3rd Gears and stuff.)
And then the stretching before the fights. The huge appetite. Stupidity.... Wonders if there's an inspiration (man, why don't that sound like it's a word? inspire...) somewhere.

That's what I needed to hear.
+ The social link system is improved; your friends will develop new skills based on the bonds you form with them (i.e., they will take a mortal blow for you).
That right there is perhaps the most interesting way I've heard of characters learning new skills. Dragon Quest VIII (and perhaps a Tales game, if I can put up with their main character) is perhaps the only rpg where I actually like to level grind, because it rewards you with skills the further you build up and whatnot. (I like to earn my skills) To hear that you have to spend time with friends sounds like it can be frustrating, depending on what can be done. Edit: [strike]Now I just gotta hope that by the time I get the money that there will still be enough copies of the game so the price don't go up. Stupid Atlus and their short stock of games.[/strike] Turns out I had $44 on my card and I just purchased the game today. Now I just gotta wait for the game to arrive.

So I was given homework over the break. (What are these teachers thinking?!) I'm suppose to ask people about advantages adn disadvantages of Windows, OSX and Linux. So... Can any of you tell me the advantages of Windows, OSX and Linux? I've never heard of OSX a day in my life, and I'm just now hearing about Linux although I still know nothing about it. I'm currently using windows but as far as naming the advantages and disadvantages of it, I'm in the dark. I also have some math homework... These teachers are crazy giving us homework over a Christmas break.

We're probably going to have a white christmas this year. We got up to about 10 inches this past Friday, and it's either snowing now, or it was snowing earlier. Temperatures are on the rise though and the weather folks are talking about rain, sleet and/or freezing rain. So it could be slick on christmas... "shrugs".
Do you mean Foxy, out of interest? Yeah, he's annoying. It's one thing to have a character you're not meant to like, but another to have a character you just don't want to see in the story.
Yessir, Foxy, man I can't stand that guy.
Just how much gold did they take? To take 300 mil worth of gold to exchange, and still have gold on the ship...
I suppose this is where I sometimes get tired of Luffy at. His careless, while funny at times can get a little bit tiresome. I'm glad he's confident in his abilities, but to be so upfront about the money and whatnot... Just asking people to come after you. (That type of stupidity is something I don't really like in characters.) Chapter 332 was interesting.
Luffy vs Usopp. Battle for the ship. I suppose I can understand the feelings that was going on here. Seeing how the ship to Usopp (or would it be the crew in general?)
is like a car to a man. I'm the type to get rid of the old and get with the new. Of course if there are some good things worth salvaging then by all means... I was actually a little shocked that Usopp was actually able to keep up for the time that he did. In any case, I'm up to ch 335 and the
carpenters
are really interesting, and it's funny that you mentioned
Robin. Ever since she's been missing, it's tying into what, what's his name, Aoikoji (sp?) said, but looks like it's happening in a different manner.
I wonder how long will it take for the crew to realize that? So is this arc mainly about
Robin, and well this Frankie
person? Maybe that's asking too much lol.
-
I see. I suppose I'll see it eventually. In any case, I was plagued with more flashbacks... This one was even longer than the previous set. Waipa is a good character, although I really would've liked to see him and Zoro finish that fight. Eneru (sp?) was fairly annoying with the constant laughing before his trash talking. I can see that in animated form.
So mantra is suppose to give people a Kenshin-like ability, predict the opponents moves...
Interesting. I suppose I've read enough so far. Favorite character(s)? [strike]Chapters[/strike]Arc(s)? Fight(s)? From what I've read the main cast is pretty good, but my favorite out the bunch is Zoro. A guy like that should not be showing those type of reactions (which are priceless) the way he do. I also like the way he fights, but then again, I'm always for the swordsman. Arc, I'll say the Alabasta (sp?), I think that's it. The one where Crocodile was in. I'll tie fights in here as well. All the fights have been good so far, but I the better fights have been in this arc with Zoro and what's his name,
the guy's body turns into blades
being my favorite.
Zoro going through the process of cutting through everthing..
Edit: Found my first hated character. I forgot his name that quick, but he use that Namu Namu stuff. While interesting, I didn't really care for that whole Davy Jones game. And even though pirates are suppose to be dishonorable, I just hated their methods of cheating and whatnot.

I have a question. So far everyone I've seen with some form of devil fruit power has eaten only one fruit. Has there been anyone introduced that have eaten more than one?
-
So with all this being said, I really do wonder if Lillinet will take Ukitake's advice and just leave. (not likely, but I hope.) Bah, I was still hoping that Halibel would be #1. Having a woman as the top espada would've been really good. Her being Nel's replacement was obvious, I just didn't want to go along with that for it being so obvious. Hah, I definately don't see Hitsugaya coming out of this fight the victor. I see him being bailed out by umm.. probably Rose or Love, heck perhaps even Hyori or Riza. (That'd be interesting.) I'm actually gonna be torn about the next chapters if they're really going back to Hueco Mundo, because ranks were revealed, and I want to see these captains Bankai's, but at the same time I want to see what Ulquiorra is fully capable of. Edit: Holy cow, that was one of the fastest releases ever. 339 is out. In any case, Halibel is, um, like Mileena. (Mortal Kombat 2) Well developed body, pretty eyes, take off the mask, and boom.... Hitsugaya went bankai, and the little defensive ball is already broken. Um, yeah, he's done for. Ichigo is wounded. Look like a shoulder cut... Can't see it, quality is too low. I really want to see Shunsui vs Stark. Nice chapter.

Just got done reading ch. 216. It's become quite addicting now. Perhaps even moreso than when I first start out reading Bleach. While not my favorites Usopp and Chopper are still pretty good characters. Nami has become a favorite. You know the friendship theme has been done to death, and quite honestly, I'm sick of it, but seeing it here, I don't know, it feels more refreshing than tiring for some reason. Perhaps it's done right, or maybe it's the whole quirk-ish nature of everything. I don't like Crocodile, but he was some guy. He's not as sly as
Aizen
, but he's still a sly one nevertheless. Zoro and Luffy keeps on becoming more and more impressive with each fight, although, Luffy's fights are hysterical. But I have to admit, the boy is a fighting genius. In any case, this just might be even better than Bleach. The only thing that's really wrong here besides the weird character design is the freakishly long flashbacks. I really should start doing my homework.
-
Flashbacks are a given though, unfortunately. When you're into a main arc they don't happen nearly as often as other series, but there's an almost unforgivable sequence of six in a row during one of the highest-emotion arcs in the anime later on, as they were close to the manga releases at the time and needed some filler >.>;
I see what you meant here. OMG 3-4 (maybe 5) chapters of flashbacks. Are you kidding me? While I didn't read them, it was still a chore to click through them. In any case, I'm up to 153. Chopper is decent, but I'm not really fond of him either.
Mr. 3's hairstyle is the weirdest I've ever seen in anime history thus far.
Reading Bleach - Snags here and there, but it's good to read through.
There are only a couple of vice captains left that can fight, the rest of this should be captains vs arrancar. Unrevealed bankai's to come, hopefully.
Favorites characters are Byakuya, Ulquiorra and Kenpachi. (A lot more, but those are the top 3.) One Piece - Up to 101, and I'm glad that I've decided to give it a shot once more. I'm usually not into pirates, still not really, but this is really good. I'm more into the samurai and ninja theme, so I show a lot of bias-ness towards series like Bleach and Rurouni Kenshin. With that said though, this does beat out Naruto by a long shot. Favorite characters Zoro, Smoker and Sanji at the moment. I gave up on Naruto as a whole. No more anime or manga. That series done slipped up big time. I'm thinking about re-reading Black Lagoon just to get back in the groove of everything seeing that there's a 3rd season and whatnot.
-
I'm up to chapter 101, and I found another favorite character. Smoker.
A big guy like him, you'd think he'd get pissed off at the little girl for wasting ice cream on him. But he gave her money... awww, lol.
Hmm.. Even though I like it, I didn't really care much for that whole bit with Arlong. (Does that make any sense? lol) And while I don't mind it because a lot of these fights are pretty good, but this series seems to be plagued by making fights longer than it needs to be. In any case, I don't know which came out first, this or Bleach, but both series has a knack for throwing comedy out at the right, but awkward moments, or comedy in serious situations. (Manga-wise, that is. Anime seemed to have stolen Bleach's comedic moments.) edit:
The fights are generally very smoothly done, and it follows the manga more or less exactly (aside from altering a frame or two in some places to be slightly less brutal, but they're still pretty damn intense). The best thing for me about the anime is the accompanying music, though. It's very high quality in comparison to a lot of other animes and really just helps build up the dramatic atmosphere.
That's good to hear. I'm a sucker for high quality animation. And I suppose I already know the answer since it's shonen, but is the artwork consistent? Normally long running series artwork, or characters tend to look really hideous in one or two episodes, and then they're drawn really well in another two episodes. I can put that aside, sort of. This is so I wouldn't get my hopes up. (A lot of people claimed that _____ series has great animation/artwork... and then the big disappointment.)
-
I'm actually still trying to catch this from the beginning. Fighting-wise, I think it's really good, but I don't know anything that was going on. In any case, I am happy to hear that there's going to be a 2nd season. I'm still hoping the series will be a little longer. (13 episodes atleast, 24-26 at most.)
-
Bzzt. Wrong. Oh so sorry. Apache, Mila Rose and Sun-Sun may be nearly 'armless (LULZ) but they're still alive and presumably have Resurreccion-form abilities to show us.
Oh snap.... I forgot about them that quick. With that said, are they gonna try to fight Yama, or is he gonna stand aside?
-
Well, I don't have much to say about this chapter seeing how this chapter was literally, that spoiler. I would've thought there'd be more to that chapter, but oh well. With Lillinet being the only fraccion left, I'm glad that there's only one now, and I'm glad that that fight is finally over. I'm not gonna say he was, but old people boasting (or just talking while fighting unless they're training the pupil.) just don't sit right with me. Maybe it's because I've seen way too many of those old karate movies with the old folk being the villains lol. So I wonder how these espada fights are gonna go down? Halibel vs Hitsugaya first?
-
Against my better judgment, I went on ahead a read the new chapter anyway >_>, and I regret doing so, too.
Anyway, so is Sasuke going for those 2 elders and Danzou or the entire leaf village? Chances of reviving his clan has gone from slim to bleak. [b']Then again, with Naruto and Konoharmaru always turning into women...
So if I recall the first thing I saw from Konoharmaru's flashback training was him and Naruto turning into women. I swear if I didn't know any better, Kishi is definately aiming for that theoretic garbage. Apparently, Konoharmaru learning the rasengan has stirred up something at other forums... Honestly, I don't care about him learning an A rank jutsu. What's still pissin me off is Konoharmaru defeating a Pein. With the use of a shadow clone at that. And you mean to tell me Kakashi couldn't do the same thing...? Garbage. (Not exactly defeat jedi-Pein, but you know... he's a clone wizard.)

I'm up to chapter 69 and I can now say that I am sold. Artwork set aside, some of these characters are really good. Zoro, Sanji, and that hawk man guy (forgot his name that quick). I've even come to like Luffy's wacky attitude. Nami hasn't done much for me to care much for her, but she is a fairly decent character though. I just might try watching this on the big screen one more time. But then again, I am skeptical about the anime version. I am 1 for 4 when converting from manga to anime. Death Note's 2nd half killed the whole experience for me. Bleach's dull fighting sequence's and crappy animation practically ruined the whole experience, and Naruto's pacing and crappy crappy animation was too much to bare. (Black Lagoon is the only successful manga-to-anime adaption so far.) How's the fighting in the anime version? None of the characters I've seen so far seems to be overpowered, so I'm not expecting anything Rurouni Kenshin-like, but I'd say I am expecting something similar to like Naruto's fights. Probably not as fast-paced as the fighting, but something much more intense. Bleach's fights lacks both fast pace and intensity. Naruto's fights lacks intensity. (I know, there are some intense moments in Naruto.) I have seen quite a few flashback chapters. And while I know they are there for character development, I've developed the tendency to try to skip them as much as possible. I'm sick of flashbacks. I think I can stop reading Naruto now and just stick with Bleach and One Piece. (Probably go back to Black Lagoon since I missed the last 2 episodes.)
That said just because Kanonji doesn't display power does not equate to the fact that he has no power, Isshin being the best example here. Heh besides it's just a crack theory, though it would be very cool if it came true.
Haha, that's just too hard to picture. Kanonji in a shinigami outfit.... I don't know, while I've never pegged Isshin to be a shinigami, it does fit here. Like father like son was the concept here... (or so that's what I believe.) While I can't see Kanonji as a shinigami, I'd see him more being similar to Chad or Orihime. Very cool for him to be a shinigami.... Err... To each their own. Like Omaeda, natural hate for him as well. Can't stand characters who're around just for comic relief. So excuse me if I find nothing amusing about that guy. I think I'd rather see Ichigo as a quincy before seeing Kanonji as a shinigami.

So has anyone gotten their hands on this game yet? I'm curious to hear some opinions here. I'm short on money at the moment, and probably will be for quite some time. I'm liking what I've been reading from the reviews so far. Numbers don't really matter to me since I look for more detailed information, but both IGN and Gamespot gave the game a 9/10. I know this will probably be the next game on my to buy list since the only other Shin Megami Tensei game I've played a little bit of was Nocturne. About 10-20 minutes of it. I won't get into the details about why I traded that in. So please don't ask. However, I really want to play the DDS games.

If Kanoji was an ex-shinigami then what would that make Ururu and Jinta? I'm pretty certain they're leagues above Kanoji.
mini-vaizards?

I am disappointed there are few One Piece fans here >.>; I loves it.
I can't really say much when I'm so far behind lol. Heck, I'm still sulking about this artwork. Just got on chapter 24 though. Edit: Chapters 24-36 were actually pretty good. Comical, probably a bit too comical. I have an issue when anime/manga focuses so much on comedy and little action. But I did like the little snippet between Zolo and Nami. The whole oil on the slope. That was funny. Luffy's a lot more tolerable now. I'm not sure if I really care for Usopp (sp?) or not. I know the 3 kiddy's are fairly annoying. Not sure if I'd actually be willing to watch this on tv though. Seeing some of this stuff on the big screen would probably annoy me.
