I just finished Batman: Arkham Asylum for the ps3, and while I feel that I can play these type of games better with a sony controller, my opinion still haven't changed. The game is good, but not that great. Perhaps I'm not doing something right, but I was hoping that everything I upgraded would carry over to a new game +, but it turns out that it doesn't. I'm not a completionist at all so all this stuff dealing with the leaderboards and challenges don't really do much for me. Honestly, I feel like I've wasted $24 (Game of the Year edition) for nothing. One thing it did accomplish, was that it made me feel better when beatin up the prisoners. I've been pretty steamed almost all month and the game did cool me off a bit. This is the 2nd game I've actually beaten since landing a job (out of 20+ I think). I'll probably try to tackle Metal Gear Solid 4 next.

Well, I got it - and it's awesome! Haven't come across a boss yet though. We'll see how that goes.

Hmm... I'd definately like to see Ginjo or Tsukishima take on any one of those caps/VC (Ikkaku looks like he's a VC now) there, just to see where how they stack up because I'm still not convinced fullbringers are all that strong/great. After the latest chapter I'm even more convinced that they're nothing. Anyway, I'm not really sure how I feel about the chapter. The classic comedy in awkward moments returns but it feels old, and none of it was funny to me. Seeing the return of the fan favorites was nice, but it didn't feel epic like it usually do. I guess, if anything it just felt entirely too predictable. I don't want to take away from Kubo and whatnot because I'm glad that we have the shinigami's back but the setup was just all too predictable. I hope Renji's bad@$$ look make him look more deserving of his position as well as Toshiro. Kenpachi look like he been through a bit as well.
I feel the same way. I want to get good, but to the point where my skills are respectable. I wouldn't mind playing in a tournament setting once to see if my experience w/ the game has any meaning, but I wished I had the time. Is it a Madcatz TE stick? They have these fightpads out that have button configurations similar to stick, but it keeps the D-Pad. The only downside is a handful of fightpads that I saw online are of questionable quality. The Hori fightpad coming out in August looks decent. http://amzn.to/p5SX5i Hope this helps!
Yep, it's a TE stick. I think it's the first TE stick that was made when SF4 was released. That Hori fightpad looks like it's on the uncomfortable side.

While I don't think I'll break into the fighting game community like that, heck I doubt if I'll ever be as competitive as I once was back in the 90's with SFA2, and I doubt I'll be serious enough to jump into the tournaments and whatnot, however, I'll pretty much play casually, but I still want to be good enough to be considered decent. As for the stick, I do own one already, if anything, it's the time committing to learning how to use it (Again... I haven't used a stick since the arcades died out back in the 90's). I was never good/great at using a stick to begin with. Infact, using this stick is taking me out of my element, but right now, if I use a regular controller using the back buttons, it just feels awkward. Trying to combo with R1/R2 is a nuisance.

(I fee like I've become a lurker now) For the most part I've been playing Mass Effect. I died against that stupid worm thingy in the Argos Rhos (?) place because I got to close to it. I don't feel like doing that stuff over right now so I'm done at the moment. I still have Super Street Fighter 4: AE in my PS3. I'm thinking about trading it in since I already have the regular SSF4, so I could just buy AE for $15 from the PS store. I need to utilize that thing seeing how I haven't used it at all. This has pretty much become my all-time favorite now even though I hardly play it as much as I'd like to. I dropped playing as Guy. Don't get me wrong, I'll still use him for fun, but he's way too tricky and difficult to use, so now I'll be using Fei Long as a main, Abel and possibly Cody as secondary's. I've been watching way too many videos lol. I shouldl be putting in the practice since I'm still trying to learn how to cancel and FADC properly. I don't know what's taking so long for my order, but I should have Batman: Arkham Asylum, Folklore, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Crysis 2 on the way. I know I once stated that I don't care for Arkham Asylum at all, but I'm hoping the change in console will change my opinion about that since I tend to play these type of games better on a PS controller.

I hate that tune. I cringe everytime I heard it, especially when whoever that was trying to sing. Anyway, BOUT DAMN TIME. Gotta say I wasn't expecting him to gain his shinigami powers like that, but I knew Rukia was going to show up. Kubo is almost too predictable. First thing I noticed was the haircut on Rukia... Err.. The style looks better than that other style she had, but she still look kinda stupid. I also noticed she's a lieutenant now. If Renji's not a captain, man, do I feel really sorry for the guy. Ichigo's new sword and new look, I like it, but I don't. I like the X's, but I don't like it around the neck. His sword, yeah, not sure how I feel about that thing yet. Now we're gonna see if these fullbringers can actually fight on-par with captain level shinigami's. Now all I need for me to really back Kubo on anything is Isshin's story (and perhaps Shunsui and Yamamoto's bankai) and I'll be completely satisfied.

So they lied.... We weren't suppose to see/hear anything else until 2012. Anyway, more videos. I've stayed away from this thread for far too long, not to mention away from any type of news as well. Apparently there were more characters revealed. Hworang, Cammy, Sagat, Dhalsim, Poison, Hugo, Indian chick with the really short skirt (can't remember her name), Cody and GUY... This is a must buy for me now.

Errr.... I'm really trying to ignore anything related to Megaman right now. I was never a fan of Megaman to begin with so the news of him not being in the game don't bother me at all, but the constant complaints of him not being in the game really kills the excitement. Don't get me wrong, I understand that he's probably the most popular capcom character, but man, sometimes people just need to give it a rest. If something like that is gonna stop you from getting the game then stop bitchin and move on (not directed at anyone, just a minor rant).

A couple of questions arises with this chapter. Was Ginjo actually cut down or is he also under the same influence as everyone else? Same thing about Uryu. I guess the only difference here is Uryu was actually hospitalized while Orihime and Chad weren't. I think I wanna know more about Tsuki's abilities. I can see this going in a couple of directions. One I'm thinking that everyone is under Tsuki's influence and will eventually team up on Ichigo, and then we'll get a bail out, but I suppose that's a little too obvious, but at the same time it happened in the Hueco Mundo arc, so maybe we'll see it again. Also, I'm beginning to think that Tsuki is working for someone else. As err... I don't want to call Tsuki's ability dangerous since if he were to fight someone who don't care (Kenpachi) that ability could backfire, but for an ability like that and the way he's talking, it almost seem like he's working for someone else. So Ichigo's using Getsuga Tensho now... Will he ever be in the robes or will this be the look for good? Anyway, I need Shinigami now... This is kinda starting to drag.

I just finished Halo: Reach earlier this morning. I have to say that as epic as the game is, it's a sad one as well. I didn't shed any tears or anything, but there were a lot of "wow" moments, especially when characters started biting the dust. I had a blast playing this game from start to finish, although I'm still in favor of playing as the Chief. But yes, the Halo series just have so much epicness to quinch my thirst when it comes to the campaign. Now I fired up Mass Effect again just to remind myself what's happened, especially since I've yet to really dive into ME2 (5 months and still haven't dived into the game like I want to) And then I'm still having fun playing Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition. I don't care what anyone says about Capcom, at least they're putting out games that I'd actually play. Anyway, so far, I've completed the game as Ryu, Ken, Akuma (man, Cammy was ridiculous when playing as Akuma), Ibuki, Oni, Gouken (he's terrible...), and Sakura (she's terrible against Zangief).

I haven't had my copy of the game for long but now we get Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. From what I've played of the my game so far, my favorite characters to use are Dante, Wolverine and X-23, and now we get 12 new characters and one of those characters is VERGIL. I most definately will be getting this game. I don't even know who this Firebrand character is but I am questioning his inclusion, but "shrugs". Hawkeye looks as if he plays a bit better than Taskmaster, although I'm terrible with defensive type characters... (I'm calling Taskmaster horrible because he's defensive) I'm not feeling Ghost Rider at all. Nothing much to say about Strider at this point. The person playing as Ghost Rider in this one did so much better, but still, he's probably a little too slow for me. I think his power makes up for his slowness though. Some of the damage output he was dishing out looks a little crazy. Can't wait to see more videos pop up.

I finally decided to make a PSN account. Vicious2k11 (Might be capital "K") The only game I'm playing on there though is Super Street Fighter 4 and possibly Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Oh I know, hence why I mentioned it. :P Although if you dislike clicking through a lot of dialogue boxes, you probably won't like the series [although they are fully voiced, with English/Japanese options to boot].
Nah, no issues with clicking through boxes at all. I actually prefer it especially when it comes to some of these RPGs I've been hearing the voicework for lately.
Do you play w/ a stick? Plinking, piano-ing, and option selects, oh my! I finally got a chance to understand some of the terminology by watching VesperArcade's SSFIV tutorials. Just a warning: He has a lot of tutorial videos, but he explains the terminology quite well. He even shows you how to do it. Ooh, Ibuki! I have a hard time playing against her online. I always succumb to her vortexes and slides. You gotta have a really solid wake-up game to play against her. From other Ibuki players, she's really exciting to play as. And if you're a fan of GG, then do get BlazBlue! I'm probably gonna order it off Amazon once I find a really good price.
Right now, no, only because everywhere I'm looking they are sold out. I definately want to learn how to play with the arcade stick since I originally had this for the Xbox 360 and was becoming decent in it. I will say that I am becoming a lot better with the regular ps3 controllers like I once was and my left thumb is taking a beating because of it, but some of these challenges just seem like you MUST have an arcade stick to pull off. How in the world do they expect you to pull off Akuma's 2nd ultra? ^^ 3K... ^^ Are you serious? I'm pretty certain Amazon has BB for some cheap/decent prices.
BlazBlue's a great series. I don't know squat when it comes to the technical aspects of things, but the story is very good and the characters are fun. Definitely worth a shot, especially since the first game [Calamity Trigger] can be found for very cheap these days.
Kinda hard to believe that a fighting game has a great story lol. You ask anybody a fan of the genre they'll tell you they're not there for the story.
1: Mortal Kombat (MK9): I got the season pass for the 360 DLC and I'm digging the new characters so far. I'm very excited for Rain next week b/c his combos are looking sick. He also has a special attack that literally kicks your opponent to the opposite side of the screen. The closest I've seen was Smoke's smoke-bomb thing, but that's about it. 2: Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition: I have a love/hate relationship w/ this game. I started off w/ C. Viper when it first came out, but I was told that starting off w/ her, as a complete SF beginner, requires learning the game in a completely different and unorthodox way. Unsurprisingly, I probably had the worst luck playing online b/c my losing streaks were endless. From the SRK forums, I was told to play as Ryu to learn the basics. So far, it is paying off. Playing w/ the more basic shoto character is a rewarding learning experience. Anyone else play any fighters? I'm thinking about purchasing BlazBlue 2: Continuum Shift since I have the matching tournament edition stick and my friends think that I have a decent Rachel Alucard. Add me on XBL @ Asher SK. :)
I'm also playing Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, but I have it for the PS3 (sorry). I'm not nearly as good as I'd like to be. As a matter of fact I'd say I practically suck since all the talk about plinking, and FADC is relatively new to me. I've been watching tons of videos though and I'd really like to start playing online so I can start getting some decent opportunities to develop a better Guy and Fei Long and perhaps Juri and Ibuki. I've always been fairly decent with the shoto fighters though, even though Ken gives me tons of issues when I play as him for some reason. I think it's that one kick where he hesitates a lot almost like he's canceling into something else. I can't find myself getting MK9. For me the game just looks a little too sloppy for me. BlazBlue on the otherhand is another game I've been thinking about buying as of late since I'm a fan of the Guilty Gear games. I started playing Halo: Reach yesterday and this is definately my preferred method. Some folks capable of handling themselves in battle and I can go in guns blazing and just have some fun in doing it. ODST looks more like I have to creep around and ride solo for some time. I wouldn't mind going solo if I were Master Chief since he's a super soldier. In any case, here in Reach, the Elites are crazy, but not too hard. They're speed is nothing to fool around with. I have assassinated a couple now and I felt good... "coughs" (A lot of pinned-up anger). I just got to the war (I guess?). Almost like every single soldier on earth was riding a warhog or something. I'm enjoying this game greatly, but I'm not sure if I enjoy it more than Halo 3 yet.

Didn't like the latest episode at all. After being exposed to all the wonderful fights this down time, while I understand it's needed, I just wish it was for something better. I don't want to see the main characters partying, and lounging around especially when you have a possible war on your hands to deal with. I'd much rather see some strategizing and, perhaps folks trying to do what they can to prepare. Another thing I didn't need was more Kon.

"You of all people have friends" LOL. If Kabuto don't take over their souls or whatever I'd say this fight with Gaara and his father is just about done. Kinda sucks because I'd like to see that one drawn out a bit just to see more of what his father is capable of. Pretty good chapter (better than the ones Naruto have been in recently).

This chapter was quite something. I'm definately convinced that Tsukishima cannot fight Ichigo in a 1-on-1 fight, but this situation pretty much nullifies that altogether. I don't even see how Ichigo exploding with more power will do anything unless he plans on fighting Chad and Orihime (Because I'm mean, I'd like to see him take them both out). I'm really hoping Urahara and Isshin pops up, but this really looks like it's setting the stage for Rukia's return, considering Ichigo can sense reiatsu now. I'm no fan of hers, but I wonder if she got any taller...

Got my 360 back. I think the first game I'm gonna end up playing will probably be Mass Effect. It's been a while since I've played it and have been dying to play it for some time. After that we'll probably jump right into Mass Effect 2 seeing how I still haven't really played that game. I got to that one mission where everything just seemed to ramp up in difficulty and stopped playing for a bit. I have also have Halo 3 which I've already beaten once, but feel the need to play it again. Halo 3: ODST along with Halo: Reach are games I have but never got a chance to play them. Or rather, I let my brother borrow my 360 before getting the chance to try them out. He was my guinea pig. Splinter Cell: Conviction also need to be started along with Bayonetta. And then I think I'll probably end up buying Bioshock 1 and 2 along with a bunch of other FPS just because I need more games for my Xbox. Ok, so I've been playing Halo 3 and Halo: ODST. I've beaten Halo 3 already and it's still as great as ever. I mainly use Halo as a form of stress relief nowadays, but I get sucked into it's campaign rather easy. A lot of that is due to the music and then I just like Master Chief. One thing I carelessly did and I'm still kicking myself for it is that I got through majority of the areas with the Flood (I got all the way up to the snowy area... My goodness that's pretty to look at.) and didn't save my game. I dread having to have a shootout with the flood because they are tedious creatures and having slugged my way through all that only to not save and do it again... I think I'm done with that game for a while now. ODST on the otherhand... What the heck is up with this campaign? I'm not even an hour into the game and a batch of enemies I have to fight are a bunch of these aggressive ape thingy's and then Hunters.... O_O!!!!! Not to mention I had very little ammo. What were Bungie thinking with this?

With E3 ending I figured we'd get another one of these threads started, granted I don't know if E3 really mattered since most of if not all the games that were shown we already knew about since 2010, which also made E3 look rather weak this year but that's another topic for another day. From what I've seen there were a few games that I've seen that had a release date for the holiday months (Are there any games worth mentioning that're suppose to be released this season? Usually there are a couple of hitters that're released during the summer months but I don't recall hearing about or seeing any. Come to think of it I don't think we had any last year either) and next year. Anyway, instead of posting a list I'm going to post some videos of what I'm anticipating. First up: Asura's Wrath When I first seen this trailer (and others) I was blown away. I guess part of that is because I'm a sucker for QTE's and then the graphics in this game is just top notch. I think I heard or read that the game is a mixture of gameplay and cinema's.. (I want to say somewhat like Heavy Rain, or at least that's what came to mind when I first heard that) For me the game just look too epic to pass by. Mass Effect 3 I only beat Mass Effect 1 so far and thought that game was really epic. I've yet to really dive into Mass Effect 2 and I hear that game is even more epic than ME1. And going by the trailer alone I can only hope that this one will be more epic than both 1 and 2. I saw some bits added to melee. I don't know how much I'll use that since I was still unfamiliar with using melee in ME1 (or was that ME2?). I will say that the game looks even more impressive, visually speaking (you'll probably see that a lot lol) Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Like Mass Effect, I've only played Uncharted 1 and I haven't beaten that yet either (I do own Uncharted 2 as well) but from what I've played of it I enjoyed it thoroughly. At this point I don't think I want to see anything new from Uncharted though. I'm hoping that everything they've been showing was multiplayer because I don't want to be spoiled from the single-player campaign (it just seem like I've been seeing nothing but bits of the campaign). Definately a must buy for me. I may even get it on day 1. Halo 4 I think we all know by now that I don't do multiplayer so I'm basically in it for the campaign and I dig Halo's campaign. (I'm getting ready to start playing ODST and Reach for the first time) That's it's for now. I'm a little tired so I don't feel like doing any more typing.
