392 was pretty interesting... (A day early?) Question. What is Susano suppose to be? In a way, it looks like a summoning type jutsu. I can't help but laugh at Orochimaru's attempt to come back only to be sealed away. I also can't help but wonder if that's the last time we'll see him.

Chibi-Master, don't let my words persuade you from liking Naruto. (or any other characters) If you like Naruto, then so be it. Persuading's never been my thing. I'm just indifferent about majority of what other people think about certain fan favorites :) (It's pretty obvious that I can't stand Jiraya as well lol.) I actually like Sasuke's growth, but at the same time I not much of a fan of Sasuke, although, I've been growing fond of him. He's impressed me quite a bit from the start of the time leap to now. He don't complain about lacking power anymore, so that's a plus. Kishi turned him into a mini Itachi. Another reason you can say I like Sasuke's growth is because I'm substituting it for Neji's limited amount a time he's been shown since the time leap. When he was shown, he (nor Lee) did nothing spectacular to show any type of improvement. Yet Shikimaru gets ample amount of time... (No Neji development Kishi?) Forgot what else I was going to say.

Anime Who's your favorite Fullmetal Alchemist character?
Magus replied to AnimeFangirl189's topic in Otaku Central
Roy Mustang (for the guys). His serious moments, or rather his calm demeanor was always something I liked with him, but his outbursts of something random normally caught me off guard, and tickled my stomach to the point to where I couldn't help but chuckle. Lust and Hawkeye comes next. Hard to decide between the two because Hawkeye is what I'd prefer for females to act in anime. (I hope that didn't come out wrong :animeswea) Majority of the anime I've seen, the females are portrayed as damsels and ditzes (who're obsessed with some guy), and it's just refreshing to get a silent, calm female in a series. Lust... well, she's Lust... XD -
Oi, I caught the first two episodes last week. Missed three and four yesterday, but I'm glad it repeats on Thursday and 1-2:00. Anyway, it seems a lot like Cowboy Bebop, but at the same time it's diffeent. I've been getting my fill from the manga though. And from the way episodes 1 and 2 were, it looks like the anime is following very closely to the manga. Or is it suppose to be the other way around? (Anime 1st and then the manga?) Although, I like how the manga started off.
The very first panel starts off with Rock getting punched in the face.
(Atleast I think that's how it started. It's been a while since I've read the first chapter.) That just cracks me up for some reason. I thought I wouldn't care for the music, because it seemed like it would have heavy metal all around it, but that's not the case here. It just seems wacky and hyper. Not saying I care much for it though, but it fits. Voices... The one that stands out for me at the moment is Rock = Light Yagami. He's the only one I'm familiar with at the moment. I do like how everything sounds though. No issues with the voicework. And last but not least, the animation. Which is great. Both the anime and manga's artwork is really good. Though, Revy/Levy looks a tad different when comparing both, she's still drawn well.
Revy:
"Hey... is she taking it up the ***?"
Balalaika:
"Sure is."
[later] Balalaika: "Somebody shoot me."
Ah.. Haven't seen that yet, but I did read it. I can't remember the words, because it was a tad bit different, but it was still funny.
Favorite characters, anyone? Balalaika is mine, but it's so hard to choose. Black Lagoon has an almost unfairly high proportion of awesome characters, especially women (Revy, Shenhua), but also men (Dutch, Mr. Chan). It's way more ethnically diverse than most other anime, even those that involve exotic locales.
It's hard to choose at the moment. I'm not familiar with the side characters name yet, but everybody in BL is really likable. I thought Rock would be annoying, but
in that chapter where Rock is telling Revy off
had me sold. Balalaika's a cold fish...
reading the chapter with the twins
. And I like her. Revy's use of words is comical... Really, it's hard to choose because each character brings something great to the table. Black Lagoon has the potential to sky rocket up the favorites. Especially because I've been looking for something similar to Cowboy Bebop. People have told me to go for Outlaw Star, and I will eventually, but Black Lagoon is a great substitute for now.
On the Vasto Lorde flashback issue: no one said Neriel and Nnoitra were out to fight a Vasto Lorde. Their mission was to recruit. If the Vasto Lorde is kind of the ultimate form a Hollow can attain without becoming an Arrancar, we can assume they're capable of rational behaviour. In all likelihood, if the duo met a Vasto Lorde and he/she reacted to their offer with hostility, they'd be minced. But they weren't planning to start a scrap.
That's what I was saying. Guess the words wasn't coming out right. I mean, why send #3 and #8 espada to recruit when you can get better results (no slugfest) with #1 and #2 (or 1 and 3... etc), ya know?
There are just too many factors to judge. This isn't DBZ, where you have numbered levels and level 2 is categorically stronger than level 1.
Hehe. I've already learned my lesson with a DBZ comparison. It's even more confusing. If anything, I was going with more of a Naruto approach. (Comparing abilities with power I suppose... :p) I skipped the mid-section on purpose because, hybridised Adjuchas was going to give me even more of a headache :D
I don't really understand why you don't like Naruto. Anyway, I DON'T like the break from Naruto because he's fighting Tobi:love2: Wow...I guess I don't really care about the break from Naruto...I just miss the break from Tobi...OH! You're right, Memphis, they SHOULD change the title! To....TOBI!!!!! (sorry, I have an obsession for Tobi...)
"Deep breath". I could make this short and sweet by just saying I like silent / calm characters. When it first started out, Naruto was rash, idiotic, naive, annoying (and so many other words.. I'd lose my job if I use them XD). He played pranks to seek attention. I don't mind it, but at the same time I don't care for attention seekers. The only thing I acknowledge that Naruto is good at is seeking to learn and his determination. Don't get me wrong, throughout the series, I saw the progression of his character, but that don't mean a thing with me. He's not funny, so he loses there as well. Sexy Jutsu... People are easily amused by guys with nose bleeds. And I understand the little sex jokes that Japan uses, they're just not funny. But then again, I don't have much of a sense of humor... (I don't think that's the case though. ^^) Now that we're in this time leap... Naruto = Sora (KINGDOM HEARTS) [strike]and Akatsuki = Organization XIII..[/strike] And like Sora, Naruto's still naive and rash. Naive characters are idiots. Sasuke tried to kill him twice now, yet he still wants to bring Sasuke back to the leaf village. (He's loyal that's for sure) But being the realistic type that I am, our friendship is over (after the first attempt), and I'd be quick to launch a knife at your throat. (Vengful indeed XD) Now I'm pretty much just tapped out on rash characters. I've watched (read for Naruto and Bleach) DBZ, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Inuyasha, Bleach and back to Naruto back to back. And this whole rushing in without using your brain is tiresome and annoying. I like, and I'll admit that Naruto's using his head more. But it's too little, too late. As I said before, I like characters that're silent, calm, and use their heads. (The arrogant ones comes to mind XD) With all that being said, though, Naruto, at this point will probably continue to gain my respect but I will never like him. It's not really all that hard to understand why some people don't like Naruto. Afterall, it's a preference in what I prefer. Hope that gives you a better understanding :animeswea "exhale" " winded" Edit: Oh, as for the name changing. I prefer something dealing with all the characters and not just one, because there are so many characters in this one with there own story, and to just up and call it Naruto just seems "bleh". I've got this issue with all anime/manga that decides to name there series after a character in the story itself.

I actually like the side track away from Naruto. They focus too much on him anyway. (They need to change the name of the series too.) Yep, I can't stand Naruto lol. I didn't think much of Sasuke's technique. God-modded... Perhaps, but then again, it was already god-modded when Gai said Kakashi could cut lightning with the Chidori ^^. And seeing that I would think Sasuke is fire and lightning/thunder type, controlling lightning would come up sooner or later.
Really actually, it was a pity to waste Byakuya on Zommari, a fight between the former and Ulquiorra would definitely have been interesting to watch.
Oh how I would love to see that fight. More issues with this power thing in Bleach. That flashback has me baffled. If the vasto lordes are suppose to be the top form of a hollow, then why send some espadas to recruit them when they can be easily taken out? Or can the espadas actually hold their own against vasto lordes? If that's the case then they need to clear up Toshiro's explanation. (Hitsugaya.. [strike]You need to be relieved of your captain status[/strike] you fricken overexaggerator) Also, I'm starting to think that there won't even be a winter arc. Unless Aizen finishes whatever he's doing with that thing, (forgot what it's called lol.) and retreats to another location. As Kenpachi told Ichigo, they were waiting till winter because they thought it would take that long for Urarhara to do whatever when it only took a month. And with both Unohana (and her vice captain) and Orihime floating around, I don't see any point in retreating now.

:D I enjoyed the shooting blood bath quite a bit. That's some talent you have there. Gonna be an author? (That is if you're not one aleady..)

Heh, I kind of forgot about this game.. I haven't been playing it lately because my brother said he had to delete everything on his card, because of something.. Not sure, but I haven't been in the mood to go through all that again. Eventually, I will get back to it one day.
As far as Tales games go, I think you'd find Tales of the Abyss more to your liking. It doesn't have the chibi look, the voice acting and music is in my opinion more appealing and the battle system though similar has some stuff that I found far more enjoyable than this one. Even though I like this game.
I really want Tales of the Abyss. I checked out a clip on youtube, and was really impressed with what I saw. It just seems like I'll enjoy that one over ToS.

I find it amazing how it seems like Kenpachi seemed to have become more focused (Kenshin-type focused) just by grabbing the sword with two hands. I don't want to say his personality changed, but he seems more serious now than earlier (as well as other fights). Good chapter, and the artwork on this one is really good.
-
Heh, this fight has been completely one-sided. When using genjutsu, Itachi seemed to have been thinking of a lot of moves, while in the the actual fight he just seemed as dumb as other characters... (The thought of taking Sasuke's eyes clouded his judgment.) Truly disappointing. Good chapter though.
Last Exile is a good series that you must watch. Last I remember is that Last Exile didn't have any romance in it and has action in it too.

Like (in the process of completing) ---------------------- Death Note Hellsing Ultimate Yu Yu Hakusho Last Exile Basilisk Bleach Peacemaker
Heh, I know, small words, long list...
No, no, no, Memphis, Mini-Byakuya is obviously Neji. I thought everyone knew that. ^_^
How right you are. I didn't even pay it much attention until you mentioned it lol. And mainly because there hasn't been any focus on Neji at all, I forgot about him... But that's a conversation for another day. (and thread ^^) I find the Nnoitora / Kenpachi fight interesting. I'm just tired of seeing Nnoitora. Actually, I tired of seeing almost all of these characters in Hueco Mundo. (Except Byakuya, Ulquiorra, and Kenpachi) I want to see another Urahara fight. Portable Gigai's are a very intriguing way to fight.
-
I think we all just want to see [strike]mini Byakuya[/strike] Ulquiorra again. ^^ It's funny that you mention seeing a snappy side of Ulquiorra, TwistedChick, because it would be kind of shocking to see him all snappy. And like Itachi, I just don't think it would fit him all too well. Even in death, I don't see him getting pissed. But I've been surprised a few times, though... When Nnoitora first appeared, or rather when he took out Chad, I didn't think he would be all that bad, but I can't stand his "sexist" attitude. If he didn't have that attitude, I probably wouldn't mind him gloating so much. Only female characters I like are Matsumoto, Youruchii, Nell
adult version
, and Hyori. (I think that's her name) So it's safe to say that I don't care about Orihime lol.

I knew I forgot to list something. Panache, I've seen Akira, and didn't care much for it. Don't ask, I just couldn't get into it. Premonition, I've seen Scryed, and was impressed with it, up until the last few fights.
The transformations didn't sit well with me.
. Japan, I don't mind fanservice, but I can live without it.. I started to say something about that ^^. Let's see; Outlaw Star, Gantz, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Berserk, Highlander, and Gundam's... And I've been wondering if Twelve Kingdoms was worth looking into? "Edit list"
- that's what I imagine. Or, we could all be completely surprised and find out his blade has a nature reminiscent of Yachiru, so Kenpachi ends up in pink or or a light purple, some kind of pastels. That would be deliciously terrible. I'm still leaning more towards the former, though. (ya think?)
I'd die laughing if I saw that. That cut on Kenpachi is the deepest cut I've seen on any character so far, or rather, it looks very deep. I wasn't too sure about it beforehand, but I am anticipating a release from Kenpachi. I want to say that he hinted at it in that chapter where Nnoitora said that his skin is the hardest of the espada. I don't have many thoughts about this chapter. Just wish they'd move on already.

First things first. Did Sasuke stick Itachi in the butt with that last shuriken? Each time I see Sasuke fight (now), the more impressed I am. While at the same time I'm becoming a little more disappointed in Itachi. Don't get me wrong. I still like Itachi, and I understand very well that he's going blind. But if he's going blind (and being weakened) wouldn't he be better off not using the mangekyo sharingan? Or does Sasuke's eyes surpass Itachi's by a far margin? I don't know why, perhaps it was the quality of the chapter that I had that was affecting it, but I wasn't all that impressed with amaterasu. It looked like a bunch of scribble instead of black flames. You know, at first I didn't think this fight was going to be ending here (and I still think that in some ways), mainly because I can see Zetsu bailing Itachi out,and also, seeing how this is a shonen manga, and people like to drag fights out lol. But, yeah, I'm not so sure anymore. Anyways, good chapter, for me atleast.

I like waffles, but I don't eat them regularly. Whenever we do get waffles though, it's the chocolate chip waffles, and I tend to get greedy with them. (Can't help it. Pretty much asking me to be stingy when it comes to chocolate chip anything.) I prefer pancakes though.
It's my own personal bias here against Hitsugaya but I think he's probably the weakest of the captains due to the fact he's the least seasoned of them, genius can't really make up for experience completely. After all Luppi had him practically beaten, and he was torn apart by Grimmjow.
Slight correction. Hitsugaya fought with Shao Lu Fong (or whatever his name is.), but all the same, he was nearly torn apart lol. But people would argue that's only because his powers was limited.
If he's fighting Ichigo, there's going to be someone else there, but if he ends up fighting Yamamoto, I think it'll be one on one.
I can see so many Aizen vs fights.. It's hard to see exactly how it'll turn out. - It could be Aizen vs Yamamoto, along side Kyoraku and Ukitake (Perhaps Komammura as well.) With Yamamoto dying (Didn't you know? Aizen's Superman XD), but that'd be too uhh obvious.... (Meh, I suck with these theories. :)) - Aizen vs Ichigo.. Truthfully, I don't see this fight going down, and it's probably just me. I see Ichigo's last fight being against Ulquiorra. That is, if the creator don't drag this out too much. - Aizen vs Urahara + Isshin... pfft, yeah right. :p
I'd have loved nothing more than for Isshin to be the one to deflect Nnoitra's strike instead of having Kenpachi appear. But hopefully we will see some action out of those two, it really made no sense for them not to do anything aside fromt ake out two minor arrancar, where were they when Yami, Grimmjow, Ulquiorra and all the other Espada turned up ? They're obviously more powerful than their kids, well not completely sure about Isshin, but really, for a Shinigami captain and a Quincy, they're fairly slow to act.
Knowing Ryuuken, he has no interest, and Isshin is taking care of his daughters.. As well as working... haha, that guy knows how to balance things out. (No clue about Isshin, actually. Just thought I'd toss that out. XD)
Just for laughs, I love it if turned out that Isshin's old squad was the Sixth, just so we could see a younger Byakuya and laugh at how Isshin treated him.
No theory, or anything to back up my statements here, but I've always pictured Isshin as the old captain of the 3rd squad or uhh... what's that group.. 7th (Komammura), I think?
Aizen, Unohana and Urahara all became captains after those three, though the exact times are unknown.
I don't know. In some ways, I think (again, no way to back this up, nor any reason... A bunch of jibberish lol) that Aizen, Urahara, Kyoraku, Ukitake, Isshin became captains around the same time. Although, I have to re-read to see if Kyoraku and Ukitake became captains before everybody else, because I don't remember too much of the conversation.. (I need a life lol) I can't remember if Yamamoto said that Ukitake and Kyoraku became the first 2 captains, or if they were the ones he trained, and was just happy when they became captains.

First thread that I've posted in in this part of the forum.. "Officially devirginized". Err.. I'd like to how my death would turn out. I've always been a fan of flashy gun-fights (Yay for John Woo movies), and one man reckon armies... Perhaps you can use that for something. Excuse the corn.. It's the best thing I can come up with for now. (Insomia kills, haha.)

I'm sort of buggin out right now (feelin all giddy XD), because I just finished watching the first two episodes of Hellsing Ultimate. (Came on Starz Edge.) In some ways it's similar to the tv version, but definately different. The action is way better here, as well as the animation, sort of. The characters tend to look a bit on the ugly side, but they're drawn smoothly. The story is also different, seeing how that they're this new group that was never mentioned in the tv version. One thing I do hate about Hellsing Ultimate, though, and it's not a big issue, the music. I've never been a fan of the catholic type music, and don't get me wrong, it fits very well here, but it kind of creeps me out. And I like the old jazzy feel to the tv version. Edit: Oh, btw, how many episodes are there in this Hellsing OVA?
Orochimaru most certainly meant that Itachi would be superior in a fight that required him to lock eyes with his opponent. Itachi, of course, would win, his having mangekyou sharingan and all. But as for Itachi being stronger overall... If that were the case, why would Sasuke ever go to train under someone weaker than the person he intended to kill? His whole purpose in joining Orochimaru was to surpass his brother, something he concluded would naturally come from training under him. Or are you saying Itachi is the strongest ninja in the world and thus absolutely anyone that Sasuke trained under would be inferior to him? I hope you don't think that.
Not at all. Just going by what they, themselves, stated. (Which at this point seems like it can probably be ruled out since it's all contradicting) Honestly, I don't have much of an opinon about "whose stronger than whom". As far as Sasuke going to Orochimaru... "shrugs" I don't know. In my eyes, he'd go to anyone that can give him power. Edit: Don't recall what was said here either, but I recall Orochimaru quitting Akatsuki because of Itachi. (Actually, don't bank me on that..)
As for Jiraiya being stronger than Itachi - don't forget that when Itachi and Kisame saw Naruto traveling with Jiraiya, Itachi *prudently* determined that taking him on would be foolish. If Itachi by himself[/I'] was superior to Jiraiya, surely with Kisame as backup he would have taken confronted him and secured the kyuubi for Akatsuki, especially since he could have approached Jiraiya when he and Naruto were off training and isolated from the village, thus avoiding sparking a war. Since throughout the entire 2 1/2 year training period Itachi never took this opportunity, he must have still considered Jiraiya superior to himself.
And that's where I normally get tossed around in circles at. Orochimaru states something along the lines of Itachi being stronger than him, and then we see/hear Itachi saying something about Jiraya, and yet to hear it stated again that Orochimaru is still not stronger than Itachi. Yet the 3 sanin (sp?) are suppose to be on equal grounds. All of it is a tad bit confusing. And of course we all know that Itachi is the strongest ninja in the world. :p You do have some strong points though, TwistedChick, and I might have to start reading from when Orochimaru first came into the picture. >_>

The Espada follow him, who are made up of some Vasto Lordes, and I can't see a group of Hollow, who are described by Hitsugaya as being stronger than the average Shinigami captain as following him unless he was more powerful than him. And we know that being turned into Arrancar apparently makes them more powerful than they were already, or at least gives them a greater ability to fight effectively.

Err. This sorta goes back to me stating that Hitsugaya has overrated the arrancar, or he's the weakest captain.. (or doesn't deserve his title as captain.. Something like that.) Depending on how this fight between Kenpachi and Nnoitora turns out (whether it's over too quickly or not.) before I start saying that the 1st four (five maybe..) espadas are Vasto Lordes. I don't know if I'd say Aizen is a Vaizard or not. (Not agreeing or disagreeing, I just don't know.) He knows a good deal about Vaizard stuff, so it is a possibility, and that's about as far as I'll go for speculating lol. Still haven't seen a bankai from him so, I won't jump to the Aizen is a Vaizard thing just yet. Final showdown.. Aizen vs more than 1 person. Ichigo's going to need another power boost (which seems like the direction this is headed.) to go toe to toe with Aizen.
