1. Sounds like a plan....better PM everyone just to let them know that you're restarting the RP. ~Ex
2. Paine stood with Rikku and Buddy in the Celsius' cockpit. The return trip from the Kilika Temple had been surprisingly uneventful, and everyone made it to the air ship safely. However, Rikku, as usual, was going on about something. "But you saw it, too, Paine!" Rikku exclaimed. "I swear it was a Ronso." "It was too short to be a Ronso," Paine retorted, trying to stay calm. Rikku's attitude was usually trying on Paine, but over the years she had gotten used to it. Well, not as use to it as she had thought. "Besides, what would a Ronso need to kill Al-Bhed for? They hate the Guado, remember?" "Oooooohh!" shouted Rikku. "You just don't get it, do you?" Turning to Buddy, she said, "You'll come with me, right? We need to find something out, even if it isn't what we're looking for." "Hey, don't get me involved. I'm just the tactiction." "Paine, I'm going with or without you!" With that, Rikku stormed out of the room. "Oh, geez...guess I have no choice, now, eh?" she asked, rhetorically. Turning from Buddy, who was stiffling laughs, she started to follow Rikku. "We still need to get to Djsoe, right?" "As soon as we can," Buddy replied, between laughs. "Keep that up, and there won't be anything to laugh about." Paine's cool attitude, and sharp words, kept her at odds with most people, but Buddy just took this "threat" just about as seriously as a fight with a Hypello. But, you never really knew if she was joking around or serious unless her weapon entered vision. After exiting the cockpit, Paine slowly walked through the airship, lost in her own thoughts. Rikku...Yuna...Tidus...they all knew them...but not me...why...why does it seem to always be me...heh...well, at least I'm still alive...that means I can go find something out about them...if nothing else...at least...why... Her thoughts were interrupted by the bright sun as she exited the ship. Now, to find Rikku. OOC: Aight, small post, no battles, but an interesting plot about Paine that I'll continually be expanding on during the RP.
3.
It's okay that you keep the last two abilities as they were, but please change Auto-Regen to the spell Regen, because there's no point in calculating HP in this type of game. And if you excuse me for turning into a fan-wanker, automatic abilities cannot affect whole parties in any game. You should also add more possible outcomes to the Mix-ability, because now it seems too simple and overpowered for Level 1 ability (it felt absurd to me that I had to make Bomb Fragment and a Potion mix up to become Great Wall because of the lack of options, honestly). Sorry for pin-pointing your abilities this closely, I just feel that there isn't a proper healer in our party of seven, and since Paine is the closest we have to one, she should lean more towards it. Take it as caring for you! ;D And I hope you don't mind me playing around with your character in the game thread, I just love Paine's attitude! Feel free to jump in at any time.
Heh...no worries, Sandy. As a FF-freak myself, it was hard trying to "limit" the abilities...and until I finish, I won't post, f.y.i. Anyways, I'll change the Mix abilities, but put the outcomes in a different area, so it doesn't get crowded...still in the same post, though. I'll take your advice, change what you want changed, and have Paine the "not-so-typical" healer-type of our group! Any other beefs, feel free to PM me. ~Ex
4. I changed the Auto-Regen to include any character, but I didn't change the two "hole" magic. I thought about it, and it didn't really fit what I wanted it to as Paine's new abilities, so I'm keeping them the way they are. I know that origionally, they do gravity/holy magic, but the non-elemental seems to work out better...in my oppinion, anyways. If you really want me to change them, though...I guess I shall just have to, eh? Also, one last thing...I changed her weapon a bit. Hope that's okay! For full details, check out my finished sign-up! ~Ex
5. Er....ya. I'm already signed-up, but I have a question...when's this thing gonna start? We could get away with the people who have already signed-up...let's get this thing going! ~Ex
6. I'm assuming we'd just update them...saves the thread from getting cluttered and confusing... Here's mine! Name: Paine Level: 5 Weapon: Caos Timer - A gun with a large hanging pendant, heightening Paine's elemental and alchemy stats. Used as both an offensive and a defensive weapon. Ruling the elements of wind and gravity, this weapon is slightly more effective against any flying enemy. Ability: Elemental Alchemy - Paine uses her Caos Timer to usher different healing, elemental, and non-elemental alchemy attacks. Level 1: Mix - Paine uses her Alchemy to produce a random object Level 10: Chemist - Doubles the potency of recovery items Level 20: Demi - Reduces the HP of one enemy by 1/4 Level 30: Aero - Draws a protective barrier of wind around team, cutting damage by enemies in half Level 40: Elementalist - Doubles the potency of elemental items Level 50: Regen - Automatically casts Regen to any character when their HP gets low Level 60: Physicist - Doubles the potency of non-elemental items Level 70: Ribbon - Guards against all status ailments Level 80: Black Hole - Huge non-elemental damage to single enemy Level 90: White Hole - Major non-elemental damage to all enemies Overdrive: End in Pain - Taking her pendant off the gun, she twirls it above her head until it becomes nothing more than a blurr. The spinning effect creates a deadly vortex. This has five possible outcomes, depending on the current battle. First, against a single enemy, the vortex automatically KO's the enemy. Second, against a group of enemies, it acts like malestrome, taking half of each enemies total health, reducing HP to a max. of 1. Thirdly, if facing a "boss," this attack reduces the enemy's HP by one quarter of their remaining HP. In each of the three events, the vortex also aids by completely healing the team, in both HP and any status effects. Last, if luck isn't on Paine's side, the vortex fails, and it reduces the entire team's HP in half. In addition, it completely cures the enemy team. It's like a roulette of sorts, but the fourth possibility has only a slight chance of occurence. (approx. one in nine) Mix Items: Mega-Potion - Fully restores all party members. Metra Magic - Does non-elemental damage to all enemies. Great Wall - Casts a magical barrier protecting party from both magical and physical attacks for a short time. Krysta - Magics ice to freeze one enemy, resulting in automatic KO. Brimstone - Firy rocks spurt from the ground, burning both enemies and party, although the damage to party is minimal. Rolling Thunder - Summons lightning, dealing thunder damage to all enemies. Dark Rain - Mixed items result in a rain storm, dealing Water damage and blinding enemies.
7. I agree, Cygnus X-1...more uglyness. Name: Patty Docherty (pronounced doc-ra-TEE) Age: 27 Crime in the past: Various. "Crimes" include prostitution, heroin addiction, theivery, assult, the list goes on... History: Patty was raised in a devoutly Catholic home with two older brothers. They continually put her down, and her parents didn't take notice. In fact, her father continually abused her emotionally, physically, and mentally, and ultimately he started to sexually abuse her by the age of 13. In spite of all her complaints, and her numerous scratches, bruises, and scars, her mother and other family refused to believe this. This drove Patty to near insanity, causing her to run away from her family forever at the tender age of sixteen. Life on her own was harder than she had believed, but she was determined to stay as far away from her family, and her father, as possible. Eventually, life on the street and a series of dead-end jobs took their toll. By the age of nineteen, Patty had become a prostitute, and her hard life had taken her down the path to heroin addiction. Propelled by her anger, and her addiction, Patty eventually started stealing from stores for stuff to sell for her next fix, as well as assult her "clients" and other males just to have a sense of revenge on her father. About a year ago, she actually ended up killing a man, mistaking him for her father. She then moved to another city, and that's where the story of the rest of her life really begins... Personality: Being a drug-addict, and not to mention her hatred for all men, Patty is mentally unstable and is highly unpredictable. She'll do anything to maliciously hurt any man, even if in the short- or long-term she ends up hurting herself. Although she's become basically insane, there's still a bit of her Catholic roots lurking beneath the sad and depressing exterior...but few ever see that side of Patty. Apperance: Patty. The ring you see is her father's wedding ring, a constant reminder of her pain and the ever-present source of her anger and malice. Sex: Female
8. Tee-hee! *jumps for joy for being accepted* I really feel like I'm in the "big league," seeing all the talented people that I'll be writing with...o_O...wow, that's one friggin' big list. *sigh* Be sure that I'll do my best, as always. Anyways, thanks be to the honorable James! I'm totally looking forward to this RP. I do have a few questions, though. I know that you don't have it totally worked out yet, but I was wondering if you could clarify the whole:
This may include an OB Anthology companion thread to the RPG, in which some of you will post.
Does that mean that some of us will be in the Arena, while others in the Anthology? *confused look on face* Or will we be switching between the two? Also, an idea on how we could all be split up: We could, say, be part of different factions from the organization that did the genetic experiment, and each person belongs to a different faction...seeing as there's twenty-six of us, we could be in teams of...er, math never was my strong subject. Anyways, you get the idea. That way, we could concentrate on our own team's doings, while keeping the big picture in the back of our heads. And, to make things even more complicated, yet easier, we could have each "Team" have their own thread to post in for, say, missions or whathaveyou, and a main one for whatever else. Just a couple ideas. Anyways, thanks once again, James, and let's GIT 'ER DONE! ~Ex
9. Never fear! EX is here![/melodramatic superhero voice] Ahem...I'm here just to say that I'm reserving the spot of Paine...ok'd by the one and only Sandy himself! Well, I'll have the sign-up done soooooon, so don't worry your little heads! ~Ex Name: Paine Tribe: Human Age: 21 Birthplace: Unknown, as Paine's an orphan Appearance: Paine then, but she wears something more like this, although it's all black, naturally. Also, her hair is still in the fo-hawk, but she has a bit of a rat's tail, much like Yuna's, although it's shorter, only about a foot in lenth. Personality: Paine may come off as dark, cold, and nasty, but once one gets to know her, they find a deep, complicated, and often forgiving heart. She has a keep-to-oneself type of personality, and is often melancolic and pessimistic, but she always does what she believes to be the best for herself, and her friends. Story: This dark, enigmatic girl is no stranger to sadness. After becoming an orphan, like many other children due to sin, she joined up with The Gullwings sphere group. Three years later, she joined Rikku yet again on another adventure. Although her past has been uncovered by Yuna and Rikku, there's still something that Paine's searching for... Weapon: Caos Timer - Choosing to keep the Alchemist as her set profession, Pain's weapon, Caos Timer, hightens her abilities, such as they are. The simple looking weapon is anything but simple. Essentially, it looks like a chain with a cresantmoon-shaped pendant attached to a small hand-gun. Said chain is approx. three feet long, and said pendant is about an inch in width in height and length, being about a quarter of an inch thick at the thickest. The gun is a simple design, and the chain is able to be detached. She uses the gun for long-range attacks, preffering to keep a distance away in case her alchemy is needed. Weapon ability - The Caos Timer controls the elements Gravity and Wind, as well as grants Paine with heightened abilities in Alchemy. The moon signifies the control over Gravity, and the chain the control of Wind. She sometimes takes the chain and pendant, spinning them for a defensive move. As a back-up, she has one theif dagger(like the one the Theif Sphere has in FFX-2), although she rairly has need for it. Abilities: Edit...(when I think of some, I'll put 'em in.) Lv. 1 - Mix Paine uses her Alchemy to produce either a Mega-Potion, Flash Bomb, or Great Wall. Lv. 10 - Chemist Doubles the potency of recovery items. Lv. 20 - Demi Reduces the HP of one enemies by 1/4. Lv. 30 - Aero Draws a protective barrier of wind around team, cutting damage by enemies in half. Lv. 40 - Elementalist Doubles the potency of elemental items. Lv. 50 - Auto-Regen Automatically casts Regen when HP gets low. Lv. 60 - Physicist Doubles the potency of non-elemental items. Lv. 70 - Ribbon Guards against all status ailments. Lv. 80 - Black Hole Huge non-elemental damage to single enemy. Lv. 90 - White Hole Major non-elemental damage to all enemies. Overdrive: End in Pain - Taking her pendant off the gun, she twirls it above her head until it becomes nothing more than a blurr. (approx. one in nine) EDIT: I've finished everything except the Abilities and Overdrive. They'll come probably tomorrow sometime. Also, I 'kina stole the idea of the weapons controlling two elements..sorry...it was such a good idea. EDIT2: Overdrive's done, and I tweaked things here and there. Abilities aren't quite done yet, but soon...I know most of what I want, but I'm still not sure on some of them, or when I want Paine to learn them. Ciao! EDIT3: I've finished! I added all her abilities, concentrating on "healer" abilities. Seeing as noone else really did, why not? Also, I changed her weapon a bit...hope that's okay, Sandy...
10. So sorry to do this to you Rurouni922, but Joko said it 'twas alright. Also, this is renactment of Kitty's acceptence into the X-Men, which is the "sigificant event," but everything is made up by little 'ol me...as in not all the abilities, etc, line up with the actual comic-line of when she was accepted into the X-Men. Hope that's alright, Joko. ~.^ Walking into the startling white room, she held a slight feeling of anticipation. She rairly had reserved feelings concerning any sort of test, but this was no ordinary test. "Welcome, Kitty," came a warm, familiar voice. "Hi, Professor," replied Kitty. She had always considered Professor Xavier to be a great man, worthy of her respect. "You needed me?" "Yes, Kitty," came the Professor's calm, reasuring voice. "This is your last test. The one that will decide whether or not you will join the ranks as an X-Man." Kitty's heart began to race already, and the test hadn't even began. Test: Final, 77...Testee:Katherine "Kitty" Pride, a.k.a. Shadowcat The computer voiced out the info, and Kitty fealt shivers tackle her spine. That voice always sends shivers down my spine. As she was standing there, waiting for the computer to load the program, she started to absently twirl her mid-length brown hair around her fingers. Her hazle eyes focusing on something seen only by her. The tight-fitting cat-suite, paired with her elagant cape, where what would possibly become her X-Man outfit...hopefully. "The test will begin now, Kitty. I cannot help you, unless the event of fatality is eminent." With that, Kitty was on her own... With her powers at ready, she gathered herself to face whatever the test Professor X had designed for her. The room began to shift, the white walls faiding into a lush forest. Kitty looked around her new surroundings, familiarizing herself with every detail. A branch snap grabbed her attention. It had come from her right. She slowly moved towards the sound, using her phasing ablities to soundlessly stalk whatever had made the noise. She reached where she had thought the sound had come from. Standing there was nothing more than a rabbit. Kitty let out a sigh of relief, and momentarily let her powers go back into her subconcience. That was her first mistake. Seemingly from nowhere, she heard a faint poping noise, the smell of something...burning...and fealt a sharp blow across her cheek. "Kurt! Why did you do that?" she yelled once she noticed that it was indeed Nightcrawler who had smitten her with his tail. "Kurt?" But he didn't seem to recognize her. "You vill die, trespassor." Kitty knew that this wasn't the real Kurt. She turned to run, although she knew it was pointless. Her new enemy followed her closely, using his teleportic abilities to stay just behind her. Her own powers where almost useless against him, unless... Running through a tree, she saw the fake Kurt pop up. Seizing the opportunity, she grabbed ahold of his leg, and started to phase into the ground. The blue simulation was caught off guard, and was dragged below along with Kitty. She phased back up, noticing that the scenery hadn't changed. It's not over? she asked herself. From directly behind her, a yell pierced her ear. As she had developed her phasing ablity to become second-nature, she automatically became temporarly invincable. When she opened her eyes, two sets of three claws protruded from her chest. Wolverine. Turning, then backing away, she phased back and assumed the martial position. Fighting Logan won't be easy, even with my phasing abilities. Racing towards her, Wolverine's deadly claws raked at the air. Phasing again, she let Logan pass through her, then phased out and kicked his back, hard. He flew head-first into a tree, but easily shook it off and assumed the assult. Again Kitty repeated the process, but it was getting her nowhere. Assuming that the best way was to get away from him, she used her powers to walk on the air. Higher and higher she went, until it looked as if she was walking on the tree tops themselves. Logan followed via climbing one said tree, and leaped towards her. Being phased, she could do nothing but watch as he reached her, went through her, and start to fall. "Kitty, help me!" Logan yelled. "No!" She screamed. She unphased, fell towards Wolverine, grabbed him, then phased again. Both of them hit the ground, but fell through. Darn it... They both stopped, and then Kitty made the work of getting them back to the surface. Running out of air steadily, she knew she needed to get them both back fast. Logan might already be dead. Once she finally reached the surface, Logan was lying on his back and the white room was back. So, I wasn't alone after all... Gasping for air, she faintly heard Professor Xavier's words: "Kitty, you did well. You used your abilites, fought without shame, utilized your surroundings, and won a battle you hopefully will never have to endure again. Yet, you showed compassion, and fought out of necessity, not out of spite. Congratulations, Shadowcat. You'll make a fine X-Man." Hope this isn't tooooo long for you Joko...I just got carried away.
11. James, this RP sounds as if it could be the best one I've seen...ever. LOL! Anyways, I don't have time right now, but rest assured that I shall have my sign-up finished a.s.a.p. EDIT: Finito! If there's to be anything changed, James, lemme know! The history's 'kina long, and the last "ability" is 'kina lame, but I think the over-all nulifies the downfalls. Name: Sonja Breck Age: 34 Gender: Female Place of Origin: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Known History: Sonja Breck was a single, widowed mother of two living, all her life, in Vancouver, Canada. She was an only child, and had been labled a "child prodigy." Sonja had been going to school to become a University Professer of Etymology. She met her husband, Kurt, while at school. They were set up on a blind date, and hit it off. Three years later, during her University Graduation, Kurt poped "the question." She of course said yes, and they got married not more than six months later. She turned twenty-eight a week after her wedding. Two years later, when both Sonja and Kurt where secure in life, they decided to start a family. Their two girls, Dana and Erica, were born, and became the light of their life. As fate would have it, Kurt had died in a car accident only one year after their children were born. Sonja was devistated by this, but with her twin girls, she managed to live through it. With the help of her family, she continued with her life. Her girls and teaching became the only things that mattered. She attempted to continue dating, but it didn't seem to interest her any. "It's too soon" she said, as it most likely was. However, she did seem to click with one guy in particular, Dean. He was involved with genetics, and this had always interested Sonja. One day, she was approached by Dean concerning some genetic procedures that had been up and coming; splicing animal genes with humans. He told her that, if aggreed, she would be paid an unimaginable sum. Sonja was shocked that Dean would even suggest such a thing, and told him such...as well as where to go. With that, she cemented her decision to keep out of the dating scene and concentrate on her children and occupation. She had gone to her mother's house to pick up Dana and Erica, then returned home. Upon entering, she discovered her house in disarray. Sitting on her couch was Dean, along with two burly men. Sonja asked, yelled rather, what they where doing, and why they were in her house. "That wasn't an offer, Sonja..." Dean said, standing and smiling maliciously. The two men grabbed ahold of Sonja, fending off her desperate struggles and those of her girls, who started to cry. Dean walked over, pulled out a needle, smiled. He grabbed Sonja's face and roughly turned it to the side, then injected the sedative into her neck. The last thing Sonja remembered was the crying of her precious children, and her own unearthly scream. Personality: Sonja is an average Professor: harsh, anylitical, oppinionated. Yet, she has a soft side, centered around her children. In fact, she has a special connection with all children. Other than that, she generally voices her oppinions to whoever will listen, but tends to keep her feelings under-wrap. Appearance: Sonja but she had deep red hair, and yellow eyes. Animal Genes: Indian Flying Fox (Pteropus Giganteus) Hybrid Abilities: Ecolocation ~ Sonja is capable of locating objects in the dark or in water by rendering an image of surroundings in her mind using sound waves. The range is limited only by walls or other large objects, as well as the distance of the object from Sonja. Hightened Sight ~ (Self-explanatory, but I'll elaborate anyway) Sonja has excelent sight. She can see just as well at night as in the day. The only drawback from this is the need to wear sunglasses on bright days, as the sun could severly damage her eyes. Greater Agility ~ Sonja has better agility than most "normal" humans. When falling from heights, for example, she can twist her body around to the perfect position so as not to injure herself.
12. Lock watched as Dogarta, Axel, Joseph, Nate, and Carthage each entered the portal. She also heard Nate's conversation with the wierd monkey, Switch. "Heh, you first, or me?" she asked Maddie, turning to her and half-smiling. Maddie just glared back. "Er...I'll take that as 'you'." Lock turned around, and now faced the portal. She glanced at Switch, who was frantically looking over the system that apparently controlled the time portal. The look in his eyes sure doesn't make me feel any better about this thing. As if the inital dread of time travel wasn't bad enough. I wish you were here... With that thought, she closed her eyes and walked into the portal. Her stomach learched into her throught as the light grabbed ahold of her, hurdeling her through time. The disorientation was just as bad as it was the first time, and she didn't think she'd ever get use to it. Just as suddenly as it had begun, her seemingly short journey ended. But this time, instead of appearing on the station, she found herself on a planet unlike anything she'd ever seen before. The sky was beautiful, the surrounding flora huge and magnificant, and the air was cleaner than any she'd ever breathed before. Except maybe in the Forgotten Forest back home. She would have enjoyed the new surrounding much more, if only she'd not landed in a tree. Great. Not only do I have sap all over my clothes, but I'm also thirty or so feet up in the air. A well, coulda' been worse. I coulda' missed the tree, and fell thirty feet to the ground. She gathered herself together, checked her Materia to make sure they wern't broken, and started to climb down. Halfway down, she heard a shout. "Axel! Carthage! Axel! C'mon you guys, get back here." It was Dogarta, she realized. She dropped the rest of the distance, noticing that the gravety wasn't quite what she was used to. Lighter than her own world, but not my much. Once on the ground, she started to run in the direction she had heard the shouts from. Moving aside some brush, she finally saw Dogarta. He was standing on what looked like...a Behemoth? What's a Behemoth doing on this world? Maybe this is my world's past...but if it is, where is this? Her thoughts were distracted by a rustle of branches off to her right. She glanced in the direction, but saw nothing. She then decided to walk over to Dogarta, and ask him if he knew anything about...well, anything. Walking towards her male companion, she was suddenly captivated by his looks...but before she could put into words what she thought, he noticed her and addressed her. "Ah, it was you, Lock." "Hi'ya!" she said as Dogarta jumped down off the obviously dead creature. "What were you doing on that dead Behemoth?" OOC: vicky, if you would be so kind as to carry Lock for a little while, it'd be much appreciated. I'd write more, but time doesn't say that I can...such is the life of one caught in the Sands of Time...haha, couldn't resist.
13. I have a question, Lionheart. I'm part of the Soldiers of Fujin...yet I'm in team Delta. Does that mean that I'm not to be part of the Soldiers, and just follow along with everyone else? Or...or...*sigh* *looks confused* ~Ex
14. Well, the first to reply...hahaha, I'm special now...ahem, right. Anyways...I'm just wondering about this "dino-land" that we've just been transported to. I seem to recall that we're on an island, judging by your OOC comment. In regards to that, are we to explore said island in our posts, or just state our "travel" to the planet, and our inital reactions? I think that's all my questions for now. ~Ex By the by, don't worry if I don't post for a while. I have trouble finding computers with internet access as of late. It doesn't mean I'm out of the story, or am finding it slow or boring, I'm just...having problems. *winks*
15. Funny thing, Ozy, you hit it on the head! YAY FOR YOU! To be honest, I was beginning to think that noone wanted to do this set for me, but you pulled through. Thx. ~Ex
16. Disorienting. That was the only way to describe what she had just gone through. That, or just plain wierd. She had been serving some customers at her bar, her mind constantly on when her response to the mysterious letter would be returned. She was sure it was a prank, but something inside her told her different. Suddenly, time had seemed to stop and, out of nowhere, stepped a figure. She couldn't tell much about it, but it introuduced itself as a Lord of Time. The billowing red cloak hid most of the figure's features, except it's hands. Cuts, scars, and the like plagued them, but it only enhanced the figure's mysterious appearance. The figure's body was totally genderless, as was it's voice. So, it was real, she found herself thinking. She had then been transported, if you could call it that, to what looked like a large hallway, with several doors lined along it. She only noticed the doorways after the initial vertigo had left. She saw that another female had walked into one of the doors, and decided to follow her, seeing as the mysterious figure that had brought her here had gone just as fast as it had appeared before her at her bar. Cloud...I wish you would have answered me before I left. I wanted to talk to you so bad...and now this new turn in my life, I'm truly afraid for the first time. Why? Why am I afraid? Because you're not here with me...that's going to be the hardest part. I'll miss you, but I'm sure we'll see each other again...but not soon enough. Her thoughts were ended as she reached the door the other girl had entered. She gathered herself, and pushed open the door. Upon entering the room, which appeared to be a cafateria of sorts, she was faced with a few people. Glancing around, she noticed that they were all...intriguing, to say the least. They had all stopped what they were doing, and had turned their heads towards the two girls. She walked up beside the other female, flashed a quick, friendly smile, then turned towards the others. All eyes where still on the two. She decided to break the silence. "Hey everyone," she said, smiling brightly and waving. "My name's Lock, and it's nice ta meet'cha." OOC: Alright, short, short post, but I'm out of brain-juice at the moment...please refer to my newly-finished sign-up for everything you need to know...and by the way, if you don't feel like reading, Lock's baised on Tifa Lockheart from FFVII.
17. Interesting take on a sign-up...and sorry for taking so friggin' long. By the by, this character is baised on Tifa from FFVII...authorized by vicky. Required Form, Filled by Lock: Name: I am known as Lock Age: I'm currently 22, I think Species: Human, what else? Timeline/Date: May 3, all other info is unkown, even to me. Origin: Nibelhiem, Gaia Special Talents: I am a master of the martial arts, and I have some manipulation over the elements of fire and wind. Weapons/Items: Of course I have to bring along my gloves, God's Hand, as well as my steel-toed boots, Devil's Bane. My two Materia, Fira and Aero, are needed to use my magic, so they're along for the ride, as well. Appearance: Me now, but now I have lighter hair. Personality: I am gentle and kind at heart, but once provoked, I become a lethal weapon. Not much else to say, I guess...*giggles* Biography:* I grew up on a world named Gaia, a planet now peaceful. This was not always the case, though. Terror and destruction plagued the few scattered towns. This destruction was caused as a restult of the mega-corporation SHINRA's manipulation of the life-giving source, called the Lifestream, and a super-human clone named Sepheroth. Sepheroth was bent on destroying the world for what it did to Jenova, his "mother," while SHINRA wanted complete power. Their combined destruction and manipulation ended in utter destruction of the largest city on Gaia, Midgar. However, they were both stopped by a small group of people, a group of people I am happy to be a part of. My part wasn't a major one, but I believe that without my help, Cloud, Aeries, and the others wouldn't have been able to do it. I know that sounds conceited, but it's far from the truth. I helped Cloud regain his memories when we were both submerged into the Lifestream, setting up his final decision to destroy Sepheroth, and thereby saving the planet. Two years later, peace seemed to have come again, but it wasn't so. Cloud had become a lone wolf yet again, but his power was needed to destroy new enemies. The enemies claimed to be "brothers" of Cloud, but I've said too much already. If Cloud ever finds out about this, He'll be very...displeased. 19. [gameshow-host-voice]Well, congrats, my friend. You got a job...the best job in the world! You'll be paid as much money as your little mind could imagine. All you have to do is test out the newest thing for inmates: The Bio-Death Injection 4.0![/gameshow-host-voice] I wish I was a famous writer...
20. Alright guys, pritty simple, as always. I'm using a lap-top, which isn't friendly with graphic programs, so I need some help with banners and avis, etc. for a while. On to the request! What I want is a dark, dark, dark...I guess you could call it black...set. The banner first, I guess. The pic I'd like is simply one of the Keyblades from KH2, whichever one you'd like to pick. It could be set against an abstract background, or an interesting something-or-other conjoured up by your imagination. Doesn't really matter...whatever tickles your pickle, bat-man! As for the avi, I'd like the KH2 logo, black and white but with a red heart, not having the entire logo actually within the avi. Text isn't necessary for the avi. As for the banner, I'd like this text: ...where fears and lies melt away... And then ~Ex to signify my username. Color for the text is up to you, but something to go with the theme. Well, that's about it. I guess it's not that simple after all...hehe, sorry guys. ~Ex
21. Hehe...Kingdom Hearts Two, ya say? Just down my ally, so to speak. Although this game was totally one of the best games I've played in a while, I have to agree that it was lacking in more than one area. First off is the utter shortness of the game, following only the story line without attempting minigames, etc. Each of the worlds where rather short, small, and not to exciting. This branches into the "boring" aspect of leveling up, but seriously, what game doesn't get boring when just leveling up...not to mention repetative. Second is the predictable story line, and the so called "twists" and "shockers." Sure, the whole
Roxas/Sora connection
was interesting, it was still predictable...but the
Kairi
connection caught me off guard. That was possibly the best "twist" in the game, excluding
Axel's "final number."
Third was the revisits to each of the worlds...how original. I understand that it was an attempt to make the game longer, but it actually made the game seem to drag on. Finally, I think it's finally, is the ending. I mean, how unorigional can you get? For those who havn't played it yet, I'll keep my mouth shut. Those of you who have played it, you know what I mean. As a last note or two, I totally agree with the speculation of a third installment, mayhaps a forth, fifth, ect? Who knows...it worked for Final Fantasy, did it not? About the Final Form, heh...STUPID FORM! Why, oh why can't I get it...*sigh* That is my humble opinion, granted it be of the negative nature, of KH2 in a nutshell. The positives shall come at a later time. ~Ex Not sure, but those sound like spoilers to me, so I added tags just to be sure ;) -- Bombu
22. EDIT: Finito! Name: Demetri Johan Gender: Male Age: 19 Race: Human, plain and simple Position: Soldier of Fujin Personality: Demetri is basically the equivalent to a jester in personality. He loves to make people laugh, make a fool of himself, and basically just have fun. He's a hard worker, as long as there's enough at the end so the ends justify the means. In his inter-personal relationships with others, he prefers to be a loner, keeping his true feelings and opinions to himself. This contrasts greatly with his outter "shell," and makes it hard for others to get close to him. Always one to help others out, he's basically just a fun loving guy, yet the greater the light is, the larger the shadows are...(rip off of KH, I know, but it fit so well) Appearance: Demetri Weapon: Clawed Gauntlets Abilities/magic: Has almost cat-like ablities: great reflexes, swift strikes, quick movement, and awesome agility. (to an extent...don't wanna god-mod here) Character Snippet: A lone figure sat within the shadows. Staring up at the bright moon, the figure sat deep in thought. A second figure appears, unseen by the first. The second sneeks up to the first, sitting beside it. Still the first figure made no sign that it had seen the second. Then. "What do you want, Demitri." "Heh, just wanted to know where you where, what you were up to." "Just thinkin'." "Oh ya, sounds like fun." Demitri started to stare at the moon along with the figure. "Eva, I need to tell you something." "What is it?" asked Eva, taking her gaze from the moon to Demetri. "Eva, we've always been freinds, right? And we always will be, right?" "Ya." "No matter what, right?" "Ya." Demetri grabbed her hand, looking right into her eyes. "Eva, I love you." Demetri woke with a start. It was a dream. Bio: I hope just the Snippet is fine... ~.^
23. Good idea, Takuya. It doesn't seem too confusing. Alright, guys, our first battle has begun! Go ahead and post! Now, I'll let you guys in on my latest plot thingy... What I'd like to do is have Leo get his "Trainer" abilities started. This means he has a connection with animals, as in he can communicate with them and "manipulate" them to an extent. I was hoping that this could help out everyone with the battle they're in right now, but it's not necessary...yet. For now, keep to the battle for a few posts, but end it soon seeing as variety seems to keep this story going. After the fight is done, let's get this whole "maze under the mountain" thing interesting, but not too long. Then, once we've all reached the "outside," we can continue on with the story. What the story is, I'm still not sure, so I'll leave the next big decission, after the exit from the mountain, up to Linkk...have fun, Holly! For now, that's all I can think of...other than I'll be PMing the "inactive" people to see if they're still interested in being in the story. TaTaForNow! ~Ex
24. OOC: Nicely done, Amanda...this should be fun to work with...I just couldn't wait...*giggles like a little school girl*...Ahem...right, on to writing... = = IC = = Leo stood rooted in place, held by utter terror and shocked awe. The creatures before him were terrifying. Not only in the fact that they oozed fear and malice, but also by the creepish resemblence to himself. They look almost human, if you look past the claws, hair, face, fangs...maybe not so much now, he thought to himself. He was slightly aware of Kay muttering. The one beast who had broken through the wall was peering at Leo. Both were in a check-mate contest of wills, it seemed. Leo was shaken out of his stupor by Kay's next words, "Devourers of Selestiae." He glanced over at Kay, and noticed that Quincy had done the same. They both must have had perplexed looks on their faces because Kay waved them off, saying she'd explain later. Leo's gaze fell yet again on the Devourer as he and the others readied their weapons. The Devourer was joined by a few others, not necessarily seen but fealt by the three companions. Suddenly, after what seemed a life time, the Devourer crouched and jumped. Leo thought it was jumping at him, and nearly fell over in his preperation for the attack. Instead, the beast soared through the air, followed closely by four of it's own companions, to land behind Leo, Kay, and Quincy. The three followed the five's movements, but where drawn back to the hole by heavy breathing. It seems like we have our own fight. Three Devourers had taken the others' places, and were slowly advanging on Leo and his friends. "If we fight as a team, we'll have a better chance," said Kay. Suddenly, they lunged at Leo. He was taken aback, not fully anticipating the random attack. He swung the two blades towards the three beings, and subconciously he saw Kay and Quincy come to his aid. They seemed to try to stay close to Leo, but the Devourers had other plannes. They seemed to keep Leo's friends busy, leaving Leo with one to contend with himself, by himself. Having parried the inital attack from the closest Devourer, Leo and his opponent paced in a circle, each waiting for the other to make a move. Leo could hear his two companions struggling with their own mortal combat, but didn't feel worried. They were both competant with their weapons, and could handle themselves. This wasn't quite true for Leo. He knew he used to know how to use the weapons he held, but now they felt ackward and clumsy in his hands. I'd better learn how to use these, and fast! After a few tense moments, the Devourer seemed to have lost interest in waiting. It's movements were like lightening strikes, and the force of it's blows, each surprisingly blocked by the Katanas, forced Leo to the ground. Seeing an opportunity to overthrough it's foe, the Devourer jumped into the air, hoping to crush Leo underfoot. This, however, was a bad mistake. Just as the creature neared the ground, Leo rolled to the side and jabbed one of the Katanas in the beast's general direction. The blade found it's mark, but not the mark Leo had been hoping for. As he rose to his feet, Leo surveyed his opponent. It was limping around, Leo's Katana jutting through it's right calf. Not the best, but better than nothing. Transferring his other Katana to his left hand, he readied himself for an attack. My turn, bastard. Just as he was ready to rush the Devourer, he heard Kay's voice. "Leo!"
25. OOC: Good twists, people...keep 'em comin'! This is a great opportunity for people to re-enter the story, and for things to get a little bit more spiced up. Keep working, and this RP will become something to be proud of. = = IC = = Leo walked beside Katie, following Dred into the caves. He was still very confused as to all the things that he had encountered since waking up. Most of all was this Selestiae who had appeared. She seemed more familiar than the ones he traveled with, yet even more distant. Confusing. "So, we've already walked through these caves, then, right?" he asked Katie. "Ya, we did," she replied. "But, now it's totally different," said the girl named Kylipso as she fell into step with them. Katie said that this is the one that I didn't like. I dunno why. She seems nice enough. Oh well, guess I'll just play along, for now. Leo gave a sideways glance at her, then turned back to Katie. "So, what do you think these "servants" are going to look like?" "Well, I think-" started Kylipso, but she was cut off by Leo's next remark. "I wasn't talking to you, now, was I? Huh? Was I?" he said. He saw the hurt in her eyes, and fealt a sudden rush of guilt. The next second, it was gone. Damn, I hope Katie told me everything... Kylipso fell behind Leo and Katie, tears welling in her eyes. Kim noticed, and went over to confort her. Meanwhile, Leo and Katie continued their discussion of these "servants," making fun of them. Things like "I bet they're little moles, digging tiny holes for our feet," or "a spider web of death" made them burst into fits of laughter. "How can you two laugh at a time like this?" asked Dred. "Here we are, lost underneath a mountain, and all you two can do is laugh at our unseen foes." "I miss the old Leo," wispered Kay to Quincy. He silently agreed with a small nod. "Well, when they come, I'll cut them all down with my....with this...what is this thingy, anyways?" Leo said as he jumped infront of them, waving his weapon around in the air. Katie laughed at his newfound spunk, but the others looked less impressed. "Leo, let us handle anything. You still need to recover fully," said Kay, almost motherly. "But I feel fine," he retored, hurt. From the look on Kay's face, though, his spirit was cut. Not much, but enough. "Really, I feel fine." "I believe you," whispered Katie into his ear. She grabbed his arm, twisted her own into it, and together they led the others down the winding paths. A short time later, they came to their first major decision. They had reached a fork. "Well, which way?" asked Quincy. Leo glanced down one of the three new paths. It seemed the exact same as the others. "Well," started Kay, peering into the left one. "this one seemes to go downwards, but we want to go up, right?" "I dunno," chimed in Kylipso, the first time she had spoken since being cut down by Leo. "It seemed as if the path we were on went slightly upwards." Dred joined in. "I'm not sure about that, but that's the exact opposite way from the origional trail. The far right one is where I would have taken us, but now, after Selestiae..." he trailed off, thinking. "This one looks promising," said Kim. "It seemes to have a slight breeze running through it." "Should we go down that one, then?" asked Leo. "Let's go," said Katie. She grabbed Leo, yet again, and started to march down the middle path. Leo heard the others sigh, but none of them complained. It seemed as if they all didn't mind going down this particular trail. They traveled down the path for a while, and it seemed promising. The party rounded a curve, and nearly walked into a large wall. "Great," said Kylipso. "A dead end." "Guess we just need to head 'er back, and try another one," said Quincy. He turned around and started walking when Leo got a sudden feeling. We're being watched. "Quincy, look out!" he shouted, at almost the last second. Quincy half turned, then was slammed into the wall. He was pinned to the wall by an arrow that shot through the air, missing his body by only centimeters. "Get ready!" shouted Dred, drawing his weapon. "Seemes that we're going to have our first run-in with these 'servants,'" commented Leo. He glanced around, seeing everyone had already gotten their weapons out. Heh, good think I know what these things are... he sarcastically thought, looking at the rod. He grabbed it by one hand, flung it to his side, and was shocked by the fact that half of it fell to the ground, revealing two sharp blades. The others had already ran to face the oncoming enemies, Kay helping Quincy off the wall. He bent down to grab his other weapon. As his hand closed around it, he heard the battle cries of his friends. He stood, then turned, intent on helping his friends. Suddenly, the dead-end wall burst open, showering Leo, Kay, and Quincy with dust and rocks. They turned around, weapons ready, and were faced with the most frightening thing they had ever seen. OOC: Illusion, Ninjah, I chose you two to carry this little half of the battle with me for some reason unknown by even myself... just something that came to me when writing. Everyone else, go ahead and post away with your own battle. If me, Illusion, nor Ninjah's posted in a while, go ahead and post whatever you want to happen. 'Till later, Ex out...
