I guess you have a point desert phoenix. It could turn out quite good. Its just that i think he should only do it if he can do it properly and not take all of the credit for it. :animesmil
Youre logic fails you, because if you knew anything about Christian preachers, you'd know that they preach the gospel and attribute the supernatural healing and gifts you see on stage to God, not themselves. I'd love to know how he has used people for gain, since he attributes the divine to God and there's no evidence he has lined his pockets immensely from doing this.
I'm sorry if i offended you this forum is only for peoples views and if you have come here to challenge other people and their views that is not the reason. I have made this thread for people to share their views so if you have taken offense i recommend not reading or posting more but its up to you. :animesmil
Father Bob actually isn't trying to convert anyone, he just preaches his message to us; He also runs a church in St Kilda so there goes the thing about his coming here to convert us.
Not that father Bob im talking about the American one whose exorcised John Safran on the last ep. I LOVE FATHER BOB from St Kilda he is soooooo funny and he doesn't care for the people who dont want to listen and he only preaches to those who want to listen he doesnt force his beliefs on anyone not like this American dude. wtf

i guess he isn't really and extremist in a sense but he is quite insane as you said earlier.

DigitalBoy you are true it is best to just ignore him but i just cant get the thought out of my head of someone going up there and nothing happening to them like if you did it deliberately and just stood there. But his lectures probably cost a crap load lol :animesmil

I first saw Bob Larson at work on an Australian show called John Safran v God he seemed at the time to be an absolute loony. He is coming to Australia to convert us the **** and i want to know anyones thoughts on him and his ways.:animesmil P.S :animeswea I am not trying to have a go at Christians or any religion its just i think people are going too far when it means they are using people in emotional states and often have been for years to prove they have powers its just using people to gain. :animeangr

Yes its true :animesigh i recently found out from Counting Down.com that there is a possibility that one of the alltime greatest animes is going to be remade as a live action film by an american director. According to: http://www.countingdown.com/movies/684075/movieinfo/director?item_id=2548048 Stephan Norrington director of Leage of Extraordinary Gentlemen has taken upon himself to make the film. I am dissapointed that this film is going to be made because if it is released and it is of poor quality it will give the original a bad name. :animeangr

Happy lesson is one of the best anime i have seen in 2006. I just love the family atmosphere it gives off. The characters each have their own personality which is what i have been waiting for in an anime for quite some time. My favourite character would have to be mama mutsuki because of her motherly love for Chitose. I have realized though that although having a different plot Happy LEsson is the biggest rip of LOVE HINA !!!!!!! can someone please back me up on this one because i know its true (I Love LOVE HINA anywayz so i doesnt really matter to me.) But apart from that its a great anime which should have been longer!!! :animecry:

I am looking forward to the new Studio Ghibli film Gedo Senki (Tales Of Earthsea) by the new kid on the block Goro Miyazaki. I dont know if you guys from USA know the Australian distributer MADMAN but I heard they recently got the rights to screen it so I am really looking forward to seeing how the new Miyazaki fares. Also looking forward to see who is casted for the english over dubbing.
After watching volume 6 (multiple times, I might add), I'm firmly convinced that Last Exile is the best show GONZO has ever made.
I totally agree with you Dagger this show realy is one of Gonzos best and that is saying alot considering Gonzo did such greats as FMA which has been watched by thousends. After viewing alot of Miyazaki stuff I've naturally come to share his love of aeronautics and I believe that this show has such a great look into this subject. The whole storyline fits perfectly with the characters and I'm a sucker when it comes to subtle romances in anime. Like FMP and Love Hina. :animeblus Sojio

Anime Samurai Champloo [from the creator of Cowboy Bebop]
Sojio replied to Dagger's topic in Otaku Central
Does anybody know the name of the song which goes with the official samurai champloo trailer. The trailer with "it is the time of samurai... a time for honor... a time for courage... a time for HIP-HOP" etc. if anybody does it would be a great help. :animedepr
-sigh- OB isn't a search engine. I always think that cetain animes make me cry just from being soo good for example Porco Rosso, Laputa:castle in the sky and Howls moving castle are all so gut wrenching just from the expression and love put into them. Porco Rosso was one anime feature that really gripped me especially because of the setting. The sheer grandeur of environment was outstanding. I think at the end I cryed because i realised that such animes really are fictional and that they really couldnt come about and the world as portrayed by miyazaki and Takahata is not what it is today and that really upsets me. :(

Firstly i apoligise if this topic has been brought up in the past and if it is possibly getting on peoples nerves ( not that this topic could). I recently (3 months ago) finished watching Cowboy Bebop and i loved it. One of the reasons was that i wasnt expecting it to have such and outstanding soundtrack :animesigh . I totally loved the great mix of Jazz, fusion, funk, latin, bebop, cool school (to name a few...) that was used it amde the show all the more watchable. I have seen shows where the animators have tried to incorporate this style of music and failed. This just goes to show the great musical talent behind the music namely Yoko Kanno and The seatbelts:animesmil . If anyone has an opinion or any interesting information on the seatbelts they would like to share please gop ahead. Also if anyone knows where i can aquire or purchase the manuscript to the song 'What planet is this' i would be very greatful.
Since your thread deals entirely with the anime Cowboy Bebop, I have merged it together with the official thread. ~Aaryanna

I think its because it draws us into a world of awesome fiction that we know will never be our own world. What do you think?
Dude this is so true. I defonately get draw into some type of temporal reality when i watch anime. It also sucks big time when you know that it isnt real and that it never will be. :animecry:

I'd have to say the two animes that made me the saddest were Voices From A Distant Star -
at the end when the last thing they say to each other is I am here
it was just overpowering not to the extent of tears though but still sad. Cowboy Bebop -
when spikes been stabbed and he looks at the stunned guards raises his hand in the shape of a gun and says "bang" and then passes on
just sitting her talking about it makes me so sad :(
I guess ill start off by saying this is truly my favorite anime of all time right now and thats pretty hard for me to say since i love Cowboy Bebop so much. Finally i found something that beat Cowboy Bebop for me which is Berserk.
Serious!!? I just finished watching Cowboy Bebop and I Cant get enough of it. I have seen Beserk in the shop and I have always considered watching it but now that someone who has the sense enough to enjoy Cowboy Bebop has recommended it i definately have to check it out. wicked :animenose

yeah my Anime obserssion began with Laputa: Castle in the sky this preatty much lead me to start collecting all of the Studio Ghibli Collection. I then went on and saw Nausicca of the Valley of the Wind, Kiki's Delivary Service, Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro. But actually the best one i ever saw was the australian opening for Howls Moving Castle. Yeah i reckon he's probably the greatest animator of alll time. But I only really like the dub versions i feel that, unlike other animes, studio Ghibli movies which have Japanese voices lack emotionbut thats only really what i think :animeknow

Nah its not Blood the Last Vampire I was gonna say Witch Hunter Robin But thats probably wrong

Interesting Concept. It might work except it would end up having some wierd style Anime. But i see what you getting at. The story would make a good anime but personally i just can see master Chief or The elites Animated. :animeangr This being said though they could make a Live anime style Halo like the Appleseed style anime that would be awesome. But for now im just excited about the Hollywood movie of Halo coming out. Thats right a Hollywood movie of Halo :animesmil

Awesome I have been waiting for this topic for a long time. Well my favourite would have to be Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line from Chrono Crusade because it is really catchy and i like the lyrics. Also Sakura Saku From Love Hina it is really cute and gets me bouncing in my chair . But i would have to say that my favourite of all time would be Merry Go Round Of Life by Joe Hisaishi From Howls Moving Castle its so dramatic and comedic aswell i really love it.
Anyway, there is one thing that dissapoints me about Miyazaki's films. I am sorry to say that I think the japanese voices absolutely, indefinitely, just plain suck! I normally like the japanese subtitled version of animes versus dubbed animes, but I think the english dubs of Miyazaki's films are much, much better. They are much more expressive, but not in that childish corny way in regular anime dubs.
Yeah i have to agree with you on this point the Japanese voices do seem a little off putting. But you have to remember that we as westerners are used to emotional voices where as in Japan these voices which we hear as sounding wierd are most likely the common voices used in all styles of Animation. But yes it is like many other animes which have annoying voices. That bieng said though i was dissapointed with the american dubbing of Peacemaker. But thats off topic. :animeknow
Sojio, I removed most of the text in the quote. Quoting the entire post really isn't necessary. Ahhh Miyazaki san. Easily the greatest Animator of our time. He is the one who got me hooked on anime starting with LAPUTA: Castle In The Sky i am now a proud owner of Nausicaa of the Valley Of The Wind, Laputa:Castle In The Sky, Kiki's Delivary Service, Spirited Away and Howls Moving Castle Ltd Edition. It good to see so many people liking Miyazaki its this type of recognition he needs. One of the Reasons i like Miyazaki San is because like him i have an obsession with flying contraptions. This hobbie of Miyazaki san's is the reason for the Studio in which he works bieng called Ghibli Ghibli means a hot desert wind of northern Africa

Anime Where is the best place to buy anime?
Sojio replied to animeloyalist91's topic in Otaku Central
Well i know that Amazon.com is a great source for Anime and manga i have bought several movies aswell as non-anime related goods. They waste no time in shipping, the prices are cheap and its really simple to use. Also for you Ozzies Madman.com is great for solely Anime Manga and Japanese Stuff. Check It Out :D -
Yeah i get this feeling aswell when i finish an anime its like the feeling you get when your nervous. I get this feeling when i realise that believe it or not Anime is in fact not real at all. That really gets me down especially when you've seen an entire series and you feel personally attached to the characters. I get this feeling after series. But i remember the first time i got it was when i finished Laputa:Castle in The Sky I am with R2vq in saying that anime is only a form of entertainment and that its not good to get overly depressed at it. Although it have to say i did fell like Avenged666 afterwatching Starwars 3: Revenge Of The Sith but i got over it in like 3 days. :D

I think the most memorible moment in Anime for me would have been when
in Laputa caste in the sky Pazu and Sheeta say the speel of destruction
its just so moving. Ahhhh I fixed your tags for you. When you're making spoiler tags, remember not to use the stars (*). Thanks. - Dagger
