Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Just curious as to whether or not anyone interested wound up buying the CD or getting more songs... and their impressions.
I went to this fun store in Ventura that has a great selection of used CDs and forgot to look for his. But! As I was looking at the new [used] arrivals, there was a Pixies CD for $10 and I said to myself, "Well heck, Tony says they are great, so I will see if I agree." So I bought it ^_^ I have a lot of CDs that are on my "to get" list, but I always forget what's on it when I go to the store =\ I need to remember Beck next time.

You left out an "Other" choice in the poll ;) My favorite cars are of the Audi line. A personal love is the Audi TT, even if I don't really know all of its 'specs' and 'stats'. I just think it's a beautiful car, and it drives beautifully, too. I had the rare privelage of driving my father's TT one day, and i was tempted to speed off into the sunset and never come back :p I really like fast cars, and the six-speed Audi TT is very, very speedy  [Erik says hi.] Edit: However, as much as I support foreign cars, I totally punked out and now drive a Ford Focus zx5. It's a great little car and I love it to death, but I've decided that it's going to become inoperable in three years time. My cd player broke for no reason the other day, after only having the car for less than a year, and I project that it is the start of a long and painful tango with an American car...

You silly wannabes can't handle the traffic. ;)
I can handle the traffic, the Californians just can't handle the Michiganders' way of driving really, really fast ;) Plus, people over here have NOOOO concept of what the fast lane is; if someone behind you is going faster than you, then for heaven's sake, GET OVER! I could rant forever...:D About the new Pooh ride, I remember now that when I was buying a picture frame the clerk told me about that opening soon. I really need to get back and experience it! The next time I have a free weekend, I think I'll tell Erik we're going to Disneyland again :)
Originally posted by Juuthena Since we're both going to be in LA, we just need Raiha, Rico, and Endymon to come down to LA. Then, I think everyone in Cali will be together, at least. ^_^;
Are Shy and I so quickly forgotten? ::tear:: Just kidding :D However, I DO live only an hour and half from Disneyland, and Shy probably lives about that far away as well. Anaheim is a merely a hop onto the 101 and a skip onto the 5. Of course, it all depends on traffic, which can be a serious headache. Driving around down there makes me consider ending my life while behind the wheel...:shifty: By the way, when and what time is the anime expo thing? Erik and I thought that it would be a great photo oppurtunity, because I really have no desire to be a part of the expo. But, boy, I bet we could get some great pictures of people all done up like their favorite anime characters :excited: Anyone have good info on it that they'd like to share?
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! Did you even read what the man said to you?!? Or did you just ingore him because of your own selfish feelings? You can never forget a person because of one stupid little mistake. And maybe it was serious, I don't know, but we are all people here, come on. I know I am, and if it is all because of you, then that's pretty sad to break his heart like that.
Did you stop to think that maybe it's not your place to tell either of them what to do, or how to feel? How can you possibly call her selfish if she's been hurt? I'm not going to say either of them is at fault or that either of them is right in this situation because I don't know the details, but that's why people should leave them alone. This is their business, not yours.

I just went to Disneyland a few weeks ago ^_^ I went to Disney World when I was very young and I don't remember it. However, Disneyland was super fun! Even though its size isn't comparable to Disney World, it was great to be able to cover the entire park in a day. I think it's time for me to get a season's pass so that Erik and I can keep going back :D

Odd how the only thing that seems to signify spring in Southern California is that leaves appear back on the trees. Other than that, I hardly noticed a temperature change since I got here in August. I guess it does get a lot hotter though, because today it's absolutely scorching. I burned my back on my leather car seats when I got in my car today :( Spring was always my favorite time of the year in Michigan. The days where it would reach 50° and everyone would walk around in short sleeves were great. The tulips were always the first flowers to bloom in our garden, and the sun would finally appear and melt away all of the snow. I guess there were the down sides, too, because after a few days of warm weather it would always get cold and dump snow on us again. But still, there's just something about the way spring in Michigan smells...it's beautiful :)

Nicole Kidman is just way cooler than her
Originally posted by Juuthena Bob Fosse did an excellent job, and all of the dance scenes were really, really amazing! The dance scenes in the new motion picture, however, were choreographed by someone else. But, in the same way that the stage show Fosse was choreographed by two of Fosse's past principle stars, the dances were still very close adaptations of his dancing style. Whew. I went on a Fosse tangent; I love that guy.

I'd be interested in listening to his new album. I used to be a really big Beck fan, and I also used to be quite attracted to him. I love how his songs are sparatic and hard to understand, not to mention the music and beat are always great. I was actually considering going on a search for a new CD today, so maybe I'll give Beck a try. Thanks for mentioning it, I didn't even know a new album was out!
Originally posted by Juuthena Not all 16-18 year olds do that. That's kinda stereotypical, actually. I have friends who are sophmores, juniors, and seniors, and none of them take drugs, drink alcohol, or just think about sex. = \
I actually agree with Harry in this situation. When I was a freshman in high school I would overhear juniors and seniors talking about drunken stories and think about how horrible it all sounded. Little did I know that my sophomore year would completely change my ideas about all of that... [Talking to younger people in general]: You can feel free to shun it now and say you'll never do any of it, and the rest of us can just hide our smiles behind or hands. But until you come face to face with these things, you really don't know what you're talking about. I told myself that I'd never smoke weed even once because if you never start, then you can never do it again. I had a feeling that, judging from past experience (or inexperience), I'd break that promise and do it. It's not that I didn't want to smoke, I just didn't want to let it become a habitual thing. Well, believe it or not, I DID smoke one night while I was drunk. I don't regret it because I couldn't even tell I was high, due to the effects of alcohol. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that it's pointless to do when alcohol impairs your ability to feel the high. Yes. End of ramble. What is my point of this post? I don't know...I just went off I guess. I think I'm just sick of younger members being so naive about these things. I definitely respect older members like Anna and Queen Asuka because they HAVE come face to face with alcohol, and have experiences that cause them to not choose it as a weekend activity. That's great, and I'm happy that they've made the decision based on experience. But when you're young and don't know what you're talking about...yesh...that's silly :whoops:
Originally posted by Sara Pink sparkly clothes and accessories. ^_~
:shifty: Quiet you. Heh, actually, Roxy is a surf-genre clothing brand. The main line is Quicksilver, [which I'm sure most of you have heard of] and Roxy is the female line of Quicksilver. It's the type of clothing that you'd see in somewhere such as Pacific Sunware or any surf shop around the ocean. Does that help, eh? 1) What do you collect? Roxy brand items. 2) How many do you have? Well puh, I have no idea. I've bought many clothing items, I have some sandals, a keychain, a wallet, there's a window sticker on the back hatch of my car...someday I hope to own a Roxy surfboard. 3) What is your favorite? My window sticker. It lets everyone in California know that Michigan girls can like Roxy, too! 4) how long have you been collecting? I've always liked Roxy, so I guess I never considered it a collection until recently when I figured out that whenever I see Roxy items, I buy them. If I had to guess, I'd say 5-6 years.

Thanks for the comments! I thought people would just tear it apart :worried: And, Queen Asuka, I drew the image myself, but I used a digital image as a reference. The reason the shading and coloration was so hard is because the image was a snapshot instead of an actual screen shot or piece of art, therefore I had nothing to reference and I am terrible with shadows and shading :bluesweat: I honestly have no concept of how light falls on the human face...I just do something until I think it looks ok. Anyway, I'm starting to learn sooo much more about PhotoShop from this class I'm taking, it's awesome. Thanks again for all of the input!

I had a small assignment for my one for my classes to illustrate how well we can use the Photoshop brushes. This peice of art took me nearly 5 hours, drawing and coloring it wasn't easy :cross: What do you think of it? It's a bit rough, but it is my first ever Photoshop illustration :)

Are you male or female?: Female How long has your longest relationship lasted? 7 months and still going strong What was the worst ending to a relationship you have been in? A guy I was dating just up and moved to California without telling me =\ What is the one thing you hope to find in your perfect mate? I think I've already found him ;) But if I have to choose one thing, it'd be that he loves me above all else, and that I'm the thing he cherishes most in his life. what is your pet peve about the people you date? Nobody ever wanted commitment! Have you ever used a pick up line? Haha, no. Have you ever had a pick up line used on you? mmm...not one of the classic pick up lines, no What do men want? More than they let on. I think that a majority of men want to be in serious, committed relationships but are too afraid of being emasculated by admitting it. I think that they also want sex a lot [I know this to be true], and want a woman who is willing to find time for him in his life. There's a lot more, too, but that would take some thinking... In your opinon, what is the general behavior of women? Some women give the rest of us bad names by being whiny, stuck up bitches to their boyfriends. I don't think that's the general behavior of women at all. Most of us want to find a good man to be with for the long haul and would do most anything to find one.

I don't know much about the computer careers, but I sure do know that film school is hell. I'm just glad that I'm a photography major and not a film major :drunk: However, I'm sure that if it's something that you really want to do then you'll be willing to go through the tribulations of film school. Good luck with the decision.

It's human nature to be selfish. When you're a child, you want the world to turn when you want it to turn, and you want everything you do to go your way. It's natural; it's normal. When you enter your teen years, that selfishness is still there in the regard that you're still a child who has yet to realize the world doesn't revolve around you. I know that until I met my current boyfriend, I was still a selfish person. I didn't truely know what it was to give something up to someone else and think nothing of the loss. It's all a part of growing up. I'm not saying that all teenagers are selfish and strut around with pseudo-intelligence, but it's a large part of the maturation years [I think I just made up that phrase...]. It's sad in a way, but I know that I, too, was a part of that guilty majority. I'm not going to deny any selfishness I exuded because it used to be a huge part of who I was. As for the pseudo intelligence...I don't think my intelligence was THAT "pseudo". I willingly accepted the views of others and didn't think myself smarter than those who were older, wiser, or more experienced than myself. Anyway, I don't think it's mean to call teenagers the things that Fate did, but I don't think it's fair to call it sad, either. It's just the way life is, everyone grows up sooner or later. Some just take longer than others.

1.) Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop. 2.) Faye is a hopeless romantic in disguise, always runs away to see if anyone care about her enough to follow, has a temper and is proud of it, knows how to be sexy and deadly at the same time, is ruthlessly composed when faced with those she hunts [or is hunted by]. Basically, yes, Faye and I are alike. I'm not as brutal or as whiny as her, but we're pretty darn close. 3.) When my hair was short I looked like her. Except for the unnaturally long and skinny legs, mine aren't quite that twiggy :drunk:
Originally posted by gokents I also want to remind you of another type of person you have specifically stressed your hate for... I don't think he's ripping on those who don't score well on standardized testing and math quizzes, but rather on those who continually make dumb life decisions. I could be wrong, but that's just how I saw it.

I don't want my kids to be in elementary school smoking weed or trying to have sex. It's a freaking shame. I can't believe you are into these types of things at your age.
At first 13 didn't sound too young to me, but then I realized that my baby brother was 12...and then it made me mad. He was going to be 13 in September; he hardly got to see any of life. Why someone so young would want to ruin their childhood with activities that could be tried much later in life is beyond me. I know that if, when my brother turned 13, he had been caught doing anything like that, I wouldn't let him out of the house for months. Maybe I'm biased because I really loved my brother and it seemed unfair that someone who loved living so much no longer gets to do so...but I just think kids so young should be kids who only fantasize about drug and alcohol use. Enjoy life a little more before you start to get into the heavy stuff, you have many years later in which you can still do the illegal things and truely know what you are getting into.
