1. I would say this topic is quickly turning into spam :p I recently realized that I haven't thought about Star Wars trivia in a while, so my brain doesn't function with trivia right now. If I could think of some questions I surely would post them, but seeing as how most of you have already read the NJO series and I have only read Vector Prime, then I think your knowledge is far more vast than mine. Besides that, it's rainy, I have a hangover, and I seem to have lost my voice. I also need to go buy a flash for my camera, something that could prove to be expensive x_x. Today is not my day, so I apologize for just letting it all out on you guys ^_^; So about that trivia, I know I said I'd post some sooner or later, but don't count on me anymore :drunk:

    Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite movies :) I'd say that the entire elephant sequence is one of the best in the movie, but the Roxanne scene would have to be my abosolute favorite; it's amazingly well done. Unforunately, I lost my Moulin Rouge CD and don't know where to find it.

You wouldn't think so, but do you think it's possible that there are names with horrid meanings?
  5. Has anyone ordered their Episode II DVD/VHS yet? It came out today, and I had it pre-ordered from Amazon.com so I'm rather excited that I'll be receiving it soon! Yay ^_^

    Cky

I remember watching CKY2K a few months ago and finding it extremely painful to watch. Ehh...everything in that video just makes you cringe.
  7.
Originally posted by The One Flattery will get you everywhere...
If that's what you believe ;) As for Janson, go watch The Empire Strikes Back and pay close attention to the fight scene on Hoth. When the first harpoon cable is released and makes contact with the AT-AT's "leg", you'll hear Wedge Antilles say, "Nice shot, Janson." Wes is Wedge's gunman in his speeder ;)

Are you mocking everyone or simply poking fun? Curiousity has gotten the best of me ;)
  10. I didn't vote today because of the fact that I just recently moved to California, and I don't feel a need as of yet. Maybe when I've been living here a year or so I'll start consentrating on their state issues, but as of now I'm still legally a Michigan resident. It would be possible to vote for Michigan senators from here in California, but since I don't live there any more, I again don't see the need.

    Driving

Driving is great! Don't be nervous; don't be overzealous. Being nervous while driving can cause you to wig out at random, inoportune times, and can lead to drivers being angered by your inexperienced driving. Keep confident and remember that you have just as much right to be on the road as everyone else. Being overzealous while driving can lead to excessive speeds of 110 miles per hour on the freeway while dangerously weaving in and out of 6 lanes of LA traffic! That angers people even more than slow, inexperienced drivers :toothy: You'll find your own niche to fall into as you drive more! Just don't drive like the Southern Californians... :grumble: As for the stick-shift issue...ehe! Those are fun ^-^ Hard as hell to learn how to drive (for me, at least), but it's so worth the effort!
  12. I am simply in love with Ewan McGregor's voice in Moulin Rouge. Even though he's an actor, his voice is incredibly beautiful. I also think that Brandon Boyd from Incubus has an amazing voice. He's just overall wonderful  I'm sure I'll offend some Red Hot Chili Peppers fans by saying that their lead singer is horrible live. If you can't sing well when singing live, then [I personally believe] that definitely puts you on a much lower talent level.
  13. Well that seems to be good news since I am a Diet Coke addict :toothy: However, certain pop [soda] is shown to cause cancer and even multiple sclerosis. Diet Coke happens to be one of those drinks, which is too bad because I can't live without it :p
  14.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel My name is Tony (well, my middle name... but that's what everyone calls me).
How fun! I had a friend whose first name was James, but his middle name was Anthony and everyone called him Tony. Half of the school didn't even know that his name was really James ^_^ I think that's just a fun coincidence :whoops:
  15.
Originally posted by Mystic's Knight umm...your ****ED MAN...
Nah, he's not ****ed. Darkness, I'd say that you should talk to both girls separately and explain the truth; disproving whatever the snitch told them that made them so mad. They should be reasonable enough to at least listen to what you have to say :)
Originally posted by Mystic's Knight but than again this is coming form a married man who would never leave the girl i want lol.. i cant help u much
[Er...how old are you?]
  16.
Originally posted by Mr. Maul Your last name is Winter, isn't it?
Perhaps it is. Have I revealed that before? I don't recall telling my last name on the boards for a long while, but I suppose I must have at one point in time...
  17. Heh, the thing is, weed really isn't that big of a deal. There have been numerous times when I've been at my boyfriend's appartment when his roommates openly smoke weed in front of us. Other than the smell it doesn't really bother me. I've never smoked weed and I don't intend to, however, if people that I hang out with do, then that is their choice entirely.
  18. I've made both friends and enemies here, especially throughout my duration of moderating. I'm sure that there are those who truely dislike me because I came on as being "too strict" or whatever, though I'm sure there are also those who think that strictness was a good thing. So actually, even though I am a rather agreable person to begin with, I have no idea what the majority of people around here think of me :whoops:
  19. I am Jenna. It is a Celtic-originated name meaning white spirit. That is the first time I have ever found a meaning for my name, normally I steal the meaning for Jennifer and pass it off to be mine :p
  20.
Originally posted by Lady Asphyxia And, i know its hard...but try not to preach. Its one of the most annoying things there is.
::bows:: You, melady, are wise. Acid, you'll find that more and more people will start smoking weed and that it's actually an extremely common thing. I agree with a lot of what Lady Asphyxia says, and I believe that it is his choice to be doing what he is. Weed isn't necessarily harmful like other drugs, though you're right about the fact that he may get caught. However, it probably isn't really your place to get mixed up in the situation; if he's going to do something that can get him in trouble then I'd advise you to steer clear of the subject entirely. If he starts doing it more frequently then don't turn your head completely, but don't get on his case either. Just stick around and be a good friend in case he ever does get in trouble for something or another that is an effect of weed :whoops:
  21. I think one impression that almost everyone gets is that TN looks like a J-rocker with crazy hair and makeup. However, that is certainly not the case, and I was personally rather surprised when I saw his real picture :whoops:
  22.
Originally posted by Endymion Example #2: This thread.
I don't think that everyone is doing that in this thread. I've actually gained a lot of insight from here, seeing as how that's what I was looking for in the first place...I surely wasn't looking to start fights :whoops:
Originally posted by Naruis ....you don't get out much do you? White people not cracking jokes about minorities.......right....you've live in your basement for how long now?
Please watch your insults, they're certainly not called for in here.
  23. I have never been a huge techno fan, but then other night I went to a rave in LA with a friend who knows all sorts of things about techno music. The thing I didn't know is that there are all sorts of different forms of techno; house, progressive trance, jungle, etc. He tried to teach me the differences between all of the styles on the way to LA, but I don't think I have a good grasp on exactly what is what. However, I did get to see some really great artists that night, and even though I still don't really like techno, I have a greater appreciation for what they do. Now I know that there are some techno fans here...what are your favorite "forms" of techno, and who are your favorite artists? I'm interested to see how others feel about the whole techno scene :)
  24.
Originally posted by Mitth'raw'nuruodo My new name is the real name of Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars. The books with him in it, are my favorite, so that is why I changed my name to it. :D
Hah, people who have never read Thrawn novels are going to have one hell of a time trying to understand your name :p
  25.
Originally posted by Endymion P.P.S. Excuse my pun, but the world isn't only in black and white. A person can support one point of view and still listen to what someone else's point of view is about.
I think that's what I'm trying to do. I'm quite honestly all mixed up about it now :worried:
Originally posted by Narius what would you do? stand in the middle and yell at yourself for making a view point for either side? You either beleive that stereo types are fact or you beleive they are not
Not true. Like Endymion said above, it IS possible to sit on the fence for a while before you realize what it is you believe in.
Originally posted by Narius Its a fact that in alot of places African Americans are treated unfairly, they are given lower wages for the same job, rejected for jobs, etc. etc. simply because the employer is some kind of biggot.
A lot of women deal with that, too, even white women. I tend to hang out with my boyfriend and his friends a lot, and since I am usually the only girl there I hear more than my fair share of slander against women. However, it doesn't bother me when comments are made as a generalization because even I have witnessed a lot of the stupid **** that girls do nowadays. Nonetheless, I will get defensive if comments are made toward a single person, such as one of my roommates. Generalizations, though, seem to be fair game to me, seeing as how most of the time it's true. Mnemolth, your post was actually really insightful, I'm glad I took the time to read it :)
