My favorite animal in Michigan would have to be the wild turkey. Up north they run around in little flocks on the side of the road, and they're really ugly and I just like them :toothy: Other than that I've seen kangaroos, koalas, any sort of pond/lake life (that usually end up in our pool), and lots and lots of deer...most often dead on the side of the highway :p Ah yes, I also saw a bald eagle the other day, that was neat ^-^

When I'm alone I talk to (and answer) myself a lot :toothy:
Originally posted by Solid Snake Don't remind me of that word, lol. Simplicity: the type of banner that gets rated a "1/70" at FFR, lol. From a distance, it may seem simplistic, but when you look closely, there is a complex background with four different pictures of Solid Snake, aka Waldo.
 Simplicity almost always looks better. I'm not talking about simplicity as in how long it took you to make or how complicated it is, I'm just saying that it looks simplistic and non-cluttered which I really like.

Solid Snake, I really like that banner ^__^ I think I prefer it because the color is something I'm not used to seeing in banners around here, and it's a color I'm rather partial to. I also like the simplicity and the boldness...overall it's wonderful :)

Ah! I knew there was a CD I was forgetting about :toothy: I must go buy it today! I'm curious to hear what Place for My Head sounds like, that's my favorite track off of that album.
Originally posted by SuperSayian Ratings are stupid. Completely and utterly stupid.
I think that the concept is good, it's just the sytem that screws it up...kinda like Communism, heh. When (and if) I have kids, I'll kind of want to know what sort of movie they're going to, or at least know if there's content that may concern me as a parent. In that case, I'd want ratings to be implimented (and obeyed by film/rating companies). The only thing I disagree with is the fact that you have to be 17 to see an R-rated movie. First of all, 17 is a weird age to set the restriction at, and secondly, most kids start watching R-rated movies so much earlier o_o. I think it should just be up to the discretion of the parent on whether their kid can see one or not...NOT some silly age-restriction set by laws :P
Originally posted by RicoTranzrig I don't start school until mid September
All of the California colleges start so late. Everyone here thinks it's strange that I'm starting over there on September 9th, which is considered rather late to my fellow Michigan residents. All of my friends start (at in-state colleges) between August 20th and the 30th :whoops:
Originally posted by Cera The phrase in the corner is sort of an eerie contrast to the sweetness of the photo.
Right on ;) Perhaps I should clarify that it is indeed a photograph. I used the computer to both convert it to grayscale and color it (which actually took forever)...that may lower your opinions a bit :whoops:

This is a picture of myself that I converted to grayscale and hand colored. There's actually a lot of work on this thing, even though it doesn't look like it :P Comments would be good...especially if anyone wants to say what they think the saying in the upper right corner means, I'd be interested to hear about that ;)

I doubt that I'd be of much service, but I'm currently working with iB and getting pretty familiar with it. If you don't get enough help then I'd be willing to aid in the process :)

Am I depressed...or blowing it out of proportion?
BabyGirl replied to GinnyLyn's topic in General Discussion
Ahh, Ginny, I know how you feel! I agree with Aries that everyone goes through phases like that, and I definitely don't think that you're blowing it out of proportion. What one person may see as a trivial matter may have a serious effect on someone else, therefore nothing that you're feeling right now can be passed off as something silly or something that shouldn't be causing sadness. If it worries you or makes you unhappy, then you're not blowing it out of proportion :whoops: Whenever I go through phases like this, I tend to tough it out on my own, but I'd advise you to talk to somene you really care for. You don't have to necessarily talk about your problems, but just being around someone that elates your mood is good ^_^ -
I think that girls get equal parental disapproval for what they wear. I know I used to get the, "I don't want you going out in that!" when I was younger. I think it's more necessary to watch what young girls are wearing rather than what boys are. When girls dress in stuff that's TOO exposing, it can bring unwanted attention from unwanted...males. Parents should just let kids dress how they want, especially guys, unless a girl is dressing too provocatively. I sound like an old lady in saying that, but half of the time when I see girls wearing revealing clothes, they don't exactly have the body that compliments those kind of clothes...LOOK IN THE MIRROR! IF IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD, DON'T WEAR IT! :drunk: That's a pet peeve of mine...V___V But anyway, back to parents censoring young girls' clothes. As I've gotten older my parents have basically let me wear anything I want, and every now and then I enjoy wearing clothes that do compliment the body I've worked hard to keep in shape. But as a drawback, I've gotten WAY too much unwanted attention from dirty 40 year old guys in rapist vans...and such...and it's scary :nervous: I wouldn't want my young girl going out, dressed in revealing clothes, and attracting attention from potentially dangerous men...the idea just isn't kosher with me ^_^ Though, Aries, I think your mom should definitely let you keep those if you want...and not complain. Allowing a kid to express their style is good! More parents should understand that.

::runs around waving a book in the air:: Guys, I bought Vector Prime today! Be proud of me! ::big cheesy grin:: Ehehe, with all of the spoilers I've read on here and elsewhere, I think I pretty much know the storyline of the NJO anyway :p

I'll admit that I didn't know what ShineGet was until now ^_^;; As for the graphics, I really like how simple they look, and the colors and font add the right amount of complexity. I don't know how to explain it...I just like them ^-^
Originally posted by \¤~NoodleZ~¤/ Hehehehehehe. I knew that one would get you mad lol!:D
Heh, only partially. I don't consider myself to be in the same group as the mini-van driving mothers who go 69MPH on the highway just to be safe (the speed limit is 70 in Michigan). I consider myself a dangerous driver in the fact that I'm far too speedy and extremely agressive. My driving habits more resemble those of a race car driver than a bad woman driver. Therefore, I am only partially offended since I don't consider myself dangerous in the stereotypical female way ^_^ -
Ana's eyes were narrowed as she spun back to face Klyju, "Find me a holo-anything." "Holo...anything?" "I need to record a message," she started rummaging through Regal's desk, "preferably one that shows my face. Ah!" She pulled out a holocube, "This will work! Hold it for me." Kylju, seeing that he wasn't in any position to disturb her, obliged. "Ok, press record. I'm ready." Ana took a deep breath and nodded at him as he switched it into recording mode, "Hello Blaire, you'd never guess what happened to me today. I just happened by Borleias and decided to check up on my old friend...you! How are you?" Klyju was taken aback by her approach, he'd expected her to be cool and glaring, instead she was dangerously friendly...there was no mistaking the underlying hatred in her voice. "Well Blaire, here's the deal. I was remembering the old days at the academy, and I thought that perhaps you'd like to play a little one-on-one with me. You, me, and our starfighters." She glanced at the chronometer above his bed, "Meet me at 0800 at the Larghri docks." She reached toward the cube as if to turn it off and paused, "And Blaire, don't try anything stupid like showing up with a bunch of your henchmen...or not showing up at all. Until then." She flashed a brilliant smile, and nodded at Klyju to switch it off. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "That was interesting." Kylju dropped down a window outside of Regal's place, "Are you sure he'll come?" "He can't resist a challenge, a chance to once again prove that he's a better pilot than me. Which," Ana quickly said, still fuming, "is incredibly not true. I'm not trying to put myself on a pedestal, but he's always thought he was better than I and always trying to prove it and I'm sick of it!" She shook her fists at the sky to accentuate her point. "I see. What if he does show up with a bunch of henchmen?" "That would cramp his style. He's too prideful to do that." "Well," Kylju muttered as the two set off in search of a transport back to the spaceport, "I sure hope you're right."
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Not only doesn't their band name make no sense...
And, of course, they're the only band in the world with a name that doesn't make sense :whoops: I really like System of a Down, and for that reason it is usually one of the 6 CDs in my car changer. Though I have found that I can only listen to their music when I'm really wired or really mad, otherwise it just sounds like a bunch of annoying shouting :drunk: Basically, I like their stuff because it's energetic and there's really not much mainstream music like what they play. They're not my favorite band, but I definitely appreciate them :)

They waited until the ship had been settled for fifteen minutes before they attempted to move. Better safe than sorry. "Greedy son of a *****." Ana muttered as she slid out of the transport and caught sight of Regal's extensive ship collection. "Did you expect anything less? Stay close." As she started to wander away from the transport, Kylju pulled her back, "There's security all over this place." Ana was still oogling over the ships, "They're all of the Brion line. He was always partial to Brion." "We can talk about the merchandise later, Ana. First we have to figure out how to get from here to inside the house." "Right." Ana nodded and glanced up at him, "I take it you don't have a plan again?" "Very funny. And actually, I do have a plan this time." "Praise Copal." Klyju had pulled out a handheld device that Ana didn't recognize, "When we're done I'm going to make you explain who the hell this Copal person is." "Oh, he was?" Kylju held up a finger to stop her, "When we're done." "Fine. What is that?" Ana pointed to the handheld. "It's locating hidden security for me, and," Kylju stopped to listen and smiled when a constant hum suddenly fell silent, "shutting all of it off."
Originally posted by Defcon5 But isn't Mara's lightsaber blue? That's what it said in I,Jedi when I read it last night.
At the end of the Thrawn trilogy, Luke gives Mara his father's lightsaber, and that's probably the one she uses in I, Jedi. It may be purple in the picture either because they wanted it to be a girl color or because she makes her own lightsaber later on down the road. Someone who has read the NJO could confirm that, seeing as how my memory of EU books I've read has really faded :toothy:

As always, I could use suggestions on this wallpaper :toothy: While it's always easy to tell when I'm satisfied with the way a wallpaper looks, it's not always easy for me to acheive that gratification. I'm trying...and learning slowly as I go :) And yes, for the sake of posting, I downsized it from 800x600 which caused some inevitable bluriness.
