1) Yeah, that's probably because you don't see a fault with yourself, and so refuse to be helped... either that or you refuse to accept that you can be helped 2) And what is beating up a fence but a lost cause? While you're beating up that fence, they're trying to get you to stop it, surely that's the better of the two... 3) So are most people if you just dismiss it as that
You, my friend, are wise ;)
  2. Ah! The story has started to die. Shall we revive it? I hope so...it's almost done :) If James really wants us to move it...then we could. I wouldn't mind.
  3.
Originally posted by Sephiroth huh? *reads the post over and over again, not understanding* ......what?
Is the term "what trash" an American thing? ::is terribly sorry:: Allow me to explain: White trash is what you see on Jerry Springer...those people with five teeth missing, beer bellies, mullets (ya know, the hair cut that's short on top and long in the back) and poor taste in clothes. That's white trash. An celebrity example would be Kid Rock...he's white trash from Detroit, and he's not even FROM Detroit...he just says he is...he's really from Pontiac :p But that's beyond the point, and I have gone far too, eh, far, with this explanation. The end
  4. Three words: White Trash Central.
  5. Yeah, it's working again though. I believe we overloaded their server :drunk:
  6. Eh, don't worry, nobody "hates" you because of it. No worries my friend, no worries...
  7.
Originally posted by Majora's Mask Michale A. Stackpole. His X-Wing books are the best.
YES! I'm glad someone agrees with me :whoops: Why do so many people like Timothy Zahn? I think his books were sort of bad...and the Luke/Mara hookup? Arg...::runs off to vomit:: Meh :drunk: KJA's stuff is pretty good though...I used to really like his writing until I started to read more and more of the Star Wars books...then I discovered Stackpole :) KJA isn't really liked by a majority of Star Wars fans, I don't know why though...I thought his stuff was pretty good
  8. TN, I uh...I suck at your friend test :p But of course, you'll always be sexy, as I answered for that one question ;) Rick...I did horribly on yours too...damn j00 people who make them difficult! ::shakes fist::
  9.
Originally posted by Apokronos Never had a love. Because Ive never had a g/f. No, Im not a nerd or a loser or an idiot or etc. Its just that no girl has ever loved me back. It sucks too. If ive never known trule love by now, I dont think I will.
I've never "been in love" either and I know I'm not some loser...so I assume you aren't either :p But I'm 17 and I have yet to be in love, though I know some day I definitely will find that perfect guy :love2: All of the guys I see every day are just starting to really annoy me  ...time for college methinks.
  10. Here is mine ;) http://babyguavagirl.friendtest.com/ I did quite well on Son Goten's...I have yet to take the others, but I will :)
  11.
Originally posted by *GaLxY-GiRl* Yeah, I have glasses. I don't wear them all the time, but I really should... my eyesight's pretty darn bad. :drunk: People say that when I wear my glasses, I resemble an innocent yet sexy librarian, with a hidden alter-ego that's seriously kinky. Of course, I have absolutely NO idea where they'd get a notion like that.....
:wigout: Funny you should mention that...last year after the homecoming dance a bunch of people came over to my house and I pulled out the glasses I had in 3rd grade (BIG huge purple ones) and put them on and took pictures. My friend called me "the sexy secretary in disguise"...so I just found that funny... Anyway, yes I do have glasses. I only wear them at night after I take my contacts out, or if my eyes really hurt like they did yesterday. My glasses are ok...I still prefer my contacts :)
  12.
Originally posted by SuperSayian Please.. Therapy doesn't do jack. Trust me. Five years of anger managment and where am I? Hell, I've even had a psychiatric evaluation. Trust me, therapy DOES NOT help...
That's because you're stuck in the frame of mind that somehow the world screwed you over. I know how it is, I experience the same thing day after day. I choose to live my life differently, and you can choose to let people help you. Your aarogance is getting your way. Let yourself be humbled, believe that your life isn't so bad you thought it was...maybe even realize that people may have it worse than you. I have restrained from therapy because I believe I have a good enough grasp on who I am and the great things in my life to not need it. Maybe as you get older you will understand...not that it's an age thing like "you're young and stupid" because I don't mean that...I just mean that I have noticed myself changing a lot over the past four years of high school. Give life a chance to be beautiful :whoops:
  13.
Originally posted by James Children who are resorting to such measures to soften the pain are in obvious need of help...whether it be psychiatric help or otherwise. And I don't think anyone would deny that -- stopping kids drinking isn't my concern. My concern is attacking the core of the problem.
Just a note that you have to be 21 over here to drink legally. I actually have to agree you on this James. I have a lot of "pain" and anger from growing up with a younger brother in a wheelchair. It has affected our family, our friends, and everything else in our world. I guess since I was so young when he was born that it majorly affected my 'mental state' or something like that. I don't fully understand it because I choose not to dwell on it. I do admit that I have some anger about what happend to my brother, but even I'm not sure where that anger is channeling from. What I do instead is love my brother for who he is, and accept the fact that nothing can change the past. I don't resort to drinking as a 'way out', even though I do drink illegally. I drink because I enjoy it, not because I want to drink myself into a stupor because of how "bad" my life is (which it isn't really that bad anyway :)). There are other ways to sort out the past, and drowning yourself in your problems and topping it off with depressants isn't the way to do that. I've found that out first hand :)
  14. Both. I love Williams' work, it's all so beautiful. I think any great, dramatic movie has the type of music that Star Wars does. I believe Duel of the Fates has a reappearance (er, if music can have a 'reappearance') in Episode II and I cannot wait to hear it again. That is by far the best music, besides the main Star Wars theme, that Mr. John Williams has ever helped create :)
  15. We already have a NCAA Tournament topic, I urge you to post in there ;)
  16.
Originally posted by Boba Fett You know , Tycho sounds right but didnt he join the alliance right before the battle of hoth? I am not sure about tycho so could someone find out?
Well, let me list the members of Rogue Squadron prior to the Battle of Hoth:
*Derek "Hobbie" Klivian *Wes Janson *Zev Senesca *Wedge Antilles (though we already know he survived) *Dack Raltar (though I don't think he was with the Alliance during the first Death Star run)
Though I doubt it, were any of them ever Y-wing pilots? Darn, I really want to go find out!
p.s. Since someone brought up madine... i think he was really neat. i was deeply annoyed at his death at the hands of Durga.
Me too! ::kicks KJA:: Stupid author killing off the General like that!
  17.
Originally posted by RicoTranzrig I remember that one...those intercalary chapters are really thought provoking, though they did seem boring at first since it had nothing much to do with the flow of the plot line, just comments on the dustbowl and how life was.
See now I LOVED the intercalorie chapters! I don't know why I loved this book so much, but like I said before, I just felt a huge passion behind the writing...much unlike something like The Scarlet Letter where it was like slow, painful death while reading it...
Originally posted by Shyguy Babygirl is turning into a Steinbeck groupie... Anyway, I have read "The Grapes of Wrath," it was okay, but it is not one of my favorites or anything. I am not a very big fan of John Steinbeck.
Hah, not a Steinbeck groupie so much as a Grapes of Wrath groupie...I HATED THE PEARL by Mr. Steinbeck. It was last year that I read that HORRIBLE book and I vowed to never read his work again. But ah, wait! What is this thick book? The Grapes of Wrath you say? Excellent...most excellent. Ahem, anyway...:toothy:
  18.
Originally posted by D. Dark They sound like sluts to me. I hate people like that...
That has nothing to do with being slutty (and I use that term loosely). Some girls may be the most stuck up people in the world and yet never messed around with a guy before. Besides, who's to determine who's a slut and who isn't? Guys use that word far too easily...less than 25% of the girls who obtain the "slut" label actually deserve it.
Labels are for jars, and human beings are certainly not jars.
Keep that in mind.
  19. If you are interested in some very mind-stimulating writing, then please read the following:
One many, one family driven from the land; this rusty car creaking along the highway to the west. I lost my land, a single tractor took my land. I am lone and I am bewildered. And in the night one family camps in a ditch and another family pulls in and the tents come out. The two men squat on their hams and the women and children listen. Here is the node, you who hate change and fear revolution. Keep these two squatting men apart; make them hate, fear, suspect each other. Here is the anlage of the thing you fear. This is the zygote. For here "I lost my land" is changed; a cell is split and from its splitting grows the thing you hate?"We lost our land." The danger is here, for two men are not as lonely and perplexed as one. And from this first "we" there grows a still more dangerous thing: "I have a little food" plus "I have none." If from this problem the sum is "We have a little food," the thing is on its way, the movement has direction. Only a little multiplication now, and this land, this tractor are ours. The two men squatting in a ditch, the little fire, the sidemeat stewing in a single pot, the silent, stone-eyed women; behind, the children listening with their souls to words their minds do not understand. The night draws down. The baby has a cold. Here, take this blanket. It's wool. It was my mother's blanket?take it for the baby. This is the thing to bomb. This is the beginning from "I" to "we." If you who own the things people must have could understand this, you might preserve yourself. If you could separate causes from reults, if you could know that Paine, Marx, Jefferson, Lenin, were results, not causes, you might survive.
::sigh:: I think that is simply beautiful. This is from John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath. This man was completely writing from his heart, and I have never actually felt the passion flowing off of a page as I have from this book. It's simply amazing. The entire 600+ page book is like this...the passionate writing that makes SO much sense. You may not exactly understand WHY I find this so eloquent, so I suggest you all read the book. It's amazing :)
  20.
Originally posted by James Um, sorry to but in, but I hope you guys realize that this is technically belongs in our Games/RPG forum. :)
I asked Raiha if it belonged there at the beginning of the story since I never had the intention of turning it into a HUGE interactive one, but she said it was fine here. If you want us to move it I will.
  21. After a while the transport took off and Lidan was agitated, "Dammit, I'm claustraphobic." (can't really spell that word :toothy: ) "I'm not usually, but right now I am too. I think it's anxiety that's making me feel so cramped in here." Sethi could feel Lidan's arm pressed aginst hers in the small space they had crammed into. "Anxious? Me too." Lidan nodded in the dark. "We're two of a kind, Lidan. Two of a kind." Sethi grinned but knew Lidan couldn't see it in the light...or lack there of. Lidan coughed, "So, what are we planning on doing once we get there, or wherever they're going?" "Oh, who knows. I think they're en route to Plinic right now?" "Shh," Lidan silenced Sethi, "someones coming."
  22. I don't think I have ever experienced a random act of kindness, none that I can think of at the moment anyway. I'm a very shy person when it comes to expressing emotion to those I care about (for some WEIRD reason I feel awkward doing kind deeds -__-) but I always feel good when I make strangers feel good. That's one of the coolest thing, knowing you made someone's day. A month or so ago I was cheering at an away basketball game at which the home team's cheerleaders were being very snobby towards us and so were their crowd. My cheer team always watches and cheers for whatever performance goes on at half time (cheerleading, dance team, etc.) so we went over to the other side to watch. The home team's crowd was extremely rude to us, but we proceeded to watch their dance team which turned out to be pretty good. There was one girl who caught my eye (since I'm a dancer and I know what a great dancer really is) and I decided to tell her afterwards how good I thought she was. After I told her that I thought she was an awesome dancer, she got a huge grin on her face and I felt as though I had made her day. It was great :)
  23.
It's because you're always watching, Resentful anger simmering in your glare, You walk past icy as a winter gale, And I'm frozen by your chill. If you're trying to make me feel bad, Wallowing in your self-important air, Then realize that it isn't working, I was never yours, never will be, So why don't you leave me the **** alone?

  24.
Originally posted by Defcon5 I think it was Crix Madine.
Indeed not. He defected from the Empire to the Alliance during the time between ANH and ESB...and he wasn't a pilot :) At one point in time I knew who the returning Y-wing pilot was...I have forgotten :cross: It's amazing how time can slowly cripple ones memory of Star Wars trivia...:drunk: I want to say Tycho, but I don't think that's right.

    Why

If you light all of those within an alotted amount of time, a treasure chest will appear under the waterfall with a piece of heart in it. You first have to take fire on a deku stick from King Zora's chamber and run it down the stairs to the torch at the base of the stairs. If that one is already lit (it very well could be and I'm just not remembering right) then take the fire from that one (on the deku stick) and run it to the one by the shop, don't stop after it lights, run to the one by the rocks, (keep running) and light the two under the waterfall. If a chest doens't appear, you weren't quick enough...then just try again :) Hope that helps!
