Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh yeah, i hear ya there. in powhatan, everybody has a well & when the power goes off, so does the water. once, after a hurricane, i took a bath in the flood waters in my front yard b/c i had to go to work that day.
Oh dear. That's very resourceful, Lady M! Snow. I suppose I should join in the conversation since I see it every winter. AND since people like to call me Jenna Snow...since my last name is Winter ;) And I love to ski! Whee! Downhill, of course. It's wonderful!
Originally posted by kuja and it is really cool when your sitting there and u get beat by a girl in a game that most guys cant touch you in... even better when you kick her *** ;)
Hehehe...I can kick major booty in Mario Kart...though that game really isn't important. Too bad Rogue Sqadron doesn't have duel player modes because I would most definitely do quite well with that :smirk:. As for being beaten...I don't enjoy that...hehe, I like beating boys, it's some sort of weird satisfaction :p Master O Beans could definitely kick my *** in 007, though he taught me a few tools of the trade while he was at it. If I owned that game, I'd probably be a bit more skilled at it...but alas, I do not own it so I rely on my natural, uh, skills...heh :p Whoa, I need to stop rambling...I do it way too much...!

Last night I think I dreamed that I was Link from Zelda...in the female form or something, it was weird. But I'd say the oddest dream I've ever had was one in which I met Kuja on a lake (he was pretty hot), and he came to eat this picnic lunch with my friends and I on a dock by the lake...Transtic was there too! Very strange indeed :drunk:
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh i'm very curious about this subject, b/c many people have low self-esteems & i think if they recognized what's good about themselves they would feel better.
Great idea LM :) My self esteem isn't too low (it can be at times) but one thing I'm vain about it probably my body...isn't that sad? It's kind of embarassing that I'd be so stuck up about having a nice body, but...yeah...(but when it comes to hair...I HATE mine..!!! But I like my eyes ;)) As for brain power, I think that my ability to take photos, or rather actually recognize what could make a great picture, and be able to carry that out in the form of a photograph. That's a skill that I am extremely proud (well, and humble) about :D
Originally posted by kuja i was stalking jenna ;) and followed her here... i used the name imstalkingjenna on v0 and v69 ;)
*Is scared* Has anyone told you that you're a scary little man? (er...no pun intended...heh :smirk: ) Anyway, I got here through the Absolute Zelda site. Actually, when I returned for some Zelda help one day, it was a day that there was no longer an Absolute Zelda site...it referred me to the forums. Since I needed help, I posted in the Zelda forum on V2 and, thus...here I am.

I agree, it is indeed very sad. My mom was also upset about it...and George was oh so cute in his early Beatle days... What's great about him is that he was such a passifist. He took the beliefs of Eastern religion, passifism, and the belief in God as a higher power, and combined them to create one beautifully-souled man. He shall be greatly missed, and wonderfully remembered.

I've been having discussions lately with male friends at school and elsewhere, and I have been getting their opinions on us ladies who play video games (and ENJOY it...a lot.) How do you feel about girls who enjoy many hours of wasting away (well, ok, not wasting away, but you know what I mean) in front of an N64 or GameBoy? (like me...heh)... I just want to see if the general consensus is that you males find it pretty damn cool...is that...true? (And if this should be moved to GD, then that's fine, just thought I'd ask here first ;) )
Originally posted by Mztik_Gohan10 my height when i was 10(6''0') well my dad is 7'4''.now im 6'7''.do u think thats too tall for me?
Holy poo! That's awesome...I love tall people :D I'm tall as well...but not...really tall. Just tall enough to be taller than guys who are older than me...and I'm talking like 18 and 19 in age...heh... Anyway, if I could change one thing it would be the fact that I used to be sorta shy, and I would complain all the time, and take everything really personally. I don't know how I changed it, I think it came from a Leadership camp that I went to three summers ago that gave me this huge self discovery thing, blah blah blah, yes...that would be it :)

It's silly how people see it as some race to be the highest poster...take it from me guys, higher posting usually makes you suspicious...so unless you have something *coherant* (the magical word) to say when you post, I'd suggest cutting back :)
Originally posted by Nothing674 Don't go to France. Sorry if any French people see this, but people in France were very rude and obviously didn't like Americans at all. I was only in Paris though, can't say that for the rest of France, but Paris was unhospitable, dirty (they let their dogs crap in the streets!) and just not the most fun experience I've had.
Well, I had this huge message typed out before I got stinkin kicked offline and lost the entire post, SO...I'll keep it brief. Basically, I'm not even French and I'm offended by that...slightly...but that's probably because I bias towards all French things...the food, people, the country itself. I love French, and more importantly, France. I will agree that Paris wasn't all it's cracked up to be with the City of Love crap, but the monuments in that city are so incredibly amazing! You have to give it credit for that...(Though, I admit, I would much prefer to spend my days in Annecy, France, a gorgeous mountain side city in the French Alps.) As for Spain...:drunk:. I absolutely hated Madrid! It was loud, crowded, had horrible drivers...and you think the French are rude? I had this lady shove me (literally) out of her way in a shoe store just so she could look at some shoes...:therock: Also, in Seville, two males in their 20s passed our tour bus in a car and proceeded to flick us off because we were American (it said that we were an American student group where it was visible to those outside of the bus.) Though, I WILL admit that I loved Barcelona, it was the only Spanish city that I could enjoy myself in...er, no, I guess Toledo was pretty cool too, but I liked it for its beauty and peacefullness. In closing, I guess I'm just saying that you didn't get anywhere outside of Paris, and you can't form any opinions based on Paris alone, because all big cities are rude...just like Madrid and even New York. (Chicago doesn't count, they're a friendly-midwestern city.) Yet I got outside of Paris, and while they WERE rude in Paris, outside of the city they were quite welcoming :) France is beautiful, you should get back there some day and visit places other than Paris ;)
Originally posted by Kristoff119 WOOHOO! Around this time last year I first cam to TheOtaku.com. It was cold autumn afternoon. I had been searching for new info on the GBA, when I came across the Advance Gameboy webpage. I checked it out. Although I did not find any new info, I did discover the great and wonderful forum. Ever since then I have been a regular member (Except over the summer when I had no access to a computer), and I hope I have given at least as much as I have taken.
Your story is somehow simliar to mine...although I was searching for info on GameBoy, which I found at the Otaku.com. One day, a few months after bookmarking the page and forgetting about it, I returned to Absolute Zelda to find the page was down, but "please visit our forums"...you know where it all goes from there :D. So, in closing, congrats ;).

The Enlightenment yesterday and today
Originally posted by PiroMunkie Lol, I could care less about government doings. If they keep out of my business I'll keep out of theirs. I don't even know what's going on in Afghanistan now, I don't know what the U.S. is doing right now, I just don't care. A president abuse his power? Were you born yesterday? Of course they do... I would, lol.
Heh, actually...it's a rather bad thing that you don't know what's going on over there. Of course, it's a personal decision and that's cool, but I think everyone should be knowledgeable on what our country is doing now.
Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
I will never forget that quote, it was posted up on my 10th grade history teacher's wall. He changed everything about the way I look at both past and current events. He made everyone love history (believe me, not a single person disliked his class) and made us all true believers that you should know what is going on in your world. Besides, like the quote says, if you don't learn from what we're doing NOW...what sort of things are you going to do when OUR generation is in charge of the country? Great food for thought. -
Erm...uh huh...I really don't know where this thread is going. Nonetheless, I say that you guys shouldn't worry about that stuff...anyone who bases their opinion on someone becaue of their postal rank (is that even a, uh, phrase?) is silly. I mean, as long as you guys post coherantly and follow the rules (regardless of post count), then you'll always be respected by me...and I'm sure others would agree :D

This topic excites me :excited: I love to travel. Places I have been: *Australia *France *Spain *Germany *Switzerland Places I really want to go: *Italy *Kenya *Buenos Aries (ugh, spelled that wrong probably) *Pretty tropical islands that would make pretty photographs *I want to go back out west...to Colorado and Cali...and I want to make it to Wyoming. Yeah, there's so many more places I can't think of right now. And of course all of those places I've been, I want to go back to some day ;)

Anime Which is the most Emotional/shocking scene in any anime?
BabyGirl replied to ~Mystical Pan~'s topic in Otaku Central
I don't come here often *looks around, waves* but I decided to venture in here and found this thread and can reply... I agree with a few of you that the most emotional scene in any anime I've seen is when Goku sacrifices himself during the Cell Saga. I had loyaly stayed up until 1 every night during the summer (even with work early the next morning) to watch the unfolding of that [neverending] saga. I definitely cried when it happened, just because it was the first anime that I ever followed religiously...meaning I watched it every night :). Too bad I am still quite clueless on DBZ...that show is great :D -
The Enlightenment yesterday and today
BabyGirl replied to Ice Dragon v2's topic in General Discussion
I remember learning about the Enlightenment...either that or specifically the French Enlightenment...but either way I understand :) I don't think Bush is abusing his power. That is the whole reason for checks and balances, so that the president isn't some absolute power. I'm don't feel like typing my opinion right now just because I'm tired and my eyes hurt...but some other time perhaps :) -
Originally posted by RicoTranzrig I've noticed a lot of people on these boards are shy... but its hard to reach out to shy people and have a conversation that can last long because it's the person who's not shy that keeps the conversation alive most of the time...and they get tired sometimes...
Yes, a great many of you are shy people. Not on here, of course, but in real life, from what I've read. I myself am not shy...I'm quite the opposite. I'm loud and can be rude at times when I let my opinions out :babble: And yes, Rico is correct, it is really hard to carry a conversation with a shy person. While I hold nothing against you shy peeps, I do get tired and at times bored with always bringing up topics. After a while I tend to give up...
Originally posted by jcgoudy Yes, Link was looking for Navi in the Lost Woods when he got ambushed by the Skull Kid. The Skull Kid that gives you the heart piece, in Ocarina Of Time, could be the same one that got Majora's Mask, but there are more Skull Kids in the Lost Woods, so it could be another one. About the 100 years that Link missed while he was in Termina, yes, time passed a lot quicker in Hyrule. Or using the Song Of Time so much messed things up. (And did you know that if you kill a Skull Kid with the Biggoron's Sword you'll get a Huge Rupee?)
Hey, thanks for the link! That site looks really awesome.
