oh wow. I really like your sketches. I especially like the dress in the first one. The ruffles look so planned out. It's amazing. I wish my sketches looked like this. [sigh]

Wow I really love your traditional works. I don't see a lot of people post them up. I love charcoal. I especially like the hand studies. For the pastel of the girl, there's something a little off on her face. I can't point out what. But I like the blending of colors. It's very nice. I love your vector pieces too. Especially the one of your girlfriend.

Try to observe people's bodies. It really helps. Know where it cruves and where they are straight (although I can't really think of anywhere on the human body where there would be a straight line). If you have to, study your own body. I also think you should keep your lines cleaner so that it doesn't give a real messy look. I think you improved from your first post though. Keep up the good work. :D

Also when voting, try not to vote for the person who made but rather for the signature itself, or else it wouldn't be fair. I also highly encourage everyone to vote. The SOTW would not work if there are no voters! So please try to encourage your friends/buddies in the forum to vote also!!! Don't forget to join too! :D Boothten, I am allowed to join too riiiight??? -
I think you should work on your text. Choosing the right font is a start. If using default fonts, I like to tell people not to use arial. The only default fonts I would suggest are probably Times, Georgia, and Century Gothic. I also think if you practice with the effects and work with more colors, you'll have better results. I personally really like GIMP. I would suggest you look up some tutorials and just keep practicing. :D

Oh yeah. Des, I updated the link to my piece because at the last minute (before you updated the worm) I realized that I forgot to include the continuation of sayrin's black text. If it's not too much trouble, you can update it with the updated link instead. If not, then just leave it be. :]

LOL. Thanks for the welcome back. If it's not too much, Is it ok if I wait till after AX to turn in my piece? I'm going all four days and we aren't getting home until like...midnight. I hope its not too much trouble. :] EDIT------------ Sorry It took so long. AX had me exhausted and yeah. So here it is. I'm still a little rusty...=.= LINKKKKKKK

Hmm...well it started in 4th grade. One friend of mine liked to draw a lot so I just followed along. I eventually started to really like drawing. So it turned into a hobby. I was never really into drawing ALL the time. I used to always draw pokemon and sailor moon all over anything that was blank. I sometimes even drew inside books that were'nt even mine. haha. I stopped drawing as much when I got into middle school. Maybe because I was trying to improve my grades. My parents bribed me with money...but I never got any :[ so sad. Then as soon as I entered high school, I knew I wanted art to forever be a part of my life. That's when I started to take lessons with a private art teacher while taking a basic art class at school. I never tried to copy the manga style. I didn't like imitating their styles. Now that I think back, I think its maybe because it never looked good enough for me, so I stuck with my own style. Then sophomore year, I thought I really wanted to do animation, so I took a class on animation at school. After taking that class I knew for a fact that I did not want to enter into that field. I realized my love for traditional art (sketching, painting, colors pencils, etc). So for the next two years, I took my art seriously. It paid off of course. So now, I'm entering college in hopes to get my BFA then transfer to a reknowned private art college. I really want this and my parents finally support me fully. :] As for the graphic arts, It's merely a hobby for me. I don't plan to take it too seriously. But I still love it with all my heart. One of my favorite past-times. :D Surprisingly, it didn't start with MS Paint like almost everyone here. I really hated MS Paint. haha. So it started with a program called 'Photofiltre'. It was pretty noob but hey. It was the best next to ms paint and plus, it was free. So my passion escaladed from there. I then started to use GIMP. A lot of people suggested it to me since I didn't know too much about photoshop. I somehow got my hands on photoshop 7. I had PS7 for quite a long time. At first I wasn't too satisfied with my work but with constant practice and inspiration from all of you talented artists here, I've gotten to a point where I am at least satisfied with the work I've produced. :D I've just recently ugraded to CS3 from PS7. Big jump but its really no different but a couple of features. [shrug]. I took a graphic design class at the school and it sucked. The teacher was terrible and didn't teach us SH!T. The only thing I learned to use was the pen tool in Illustrator. :\ She didn't teach anyone anything new with photoshop. It was surely disappointing. [sigh].

I think you're on the right track. Try to clean up your lines a little though so it doesn't look as messy. For the first one, I think her hip/waist is too small. Make it wider to that its more in proportions with her upper half. Keep practicing. I see a lot of potential. :]

wows I haven't been on in SOOO long! I'll call after Sayrin. :D
I must admit that i s-u-c-k at drawing anime. seriously, though. i'm better at drawing graffiti. well anyway, do you guys think i should stop trying to be like Rumiko Takahashi? i mean, i want to make a comic book, but it's too much work and equipment needed. and would you say you are good at drawing anime, or better at drawing abstract, graffiti, word art, or good at pottery?
Everyone has their weaknesses and strengths. If you really like drawing anime, regardless of whether you're good or not, just keep doing it. When you draw anime, you don't necessarily have to head towards drawing comics or fan-mangas. You can basically do whatever you want, as long as it makes you happy. As for me, I'm not too sure what I'm good at but I guess it would head more towards the anime look but not necessarily. I don't know.

I really like your newer style. I like the change. My favorite one is probably the second piece. But I think that you use the same font on almost all of your sigs. Try changing it up, I would say.

Does anyone know if Macbook Pro's come with Photoshop? [not to get off topic]. I would also like to know the same things as Epitome. I'll be getting my Macbook Pro in like a month or so, and yeah. It would be helpful if someone knows for a fact whether or not Macbook pro's have photoshop.

Post this in the discussion thread.

I can do this request :]

I like how you had the picture speak for itself. I think it was wise to not had done too much for the image. Color and stock placement is good. But I think that the large 'Isreal' is too big. It distracts the eye away from the image itself and only focuses on the typography. For your avi, I think you should've had more of the silhouette of the buildings since black is such a strong color, it would have created more contrast.

I call next!! :] edit----------- DONE :D //DANGEROUSMIND// This was fun. :]

I also support the +1/+2 idea. haha I feel kind of bad for dominating the worm. I wait and wait for someone to claim but no one will. So I just jump in and try to keep it active. I really hope it gets more active as soon as the summer starts. I'm excited. :]

I agree. The forum has died out almost completely. It's pretty sad. But on the good side, I'm glad you've become active again [for now at least]. Anyways... I'm totally digging the sora sig. The background goes with the stock very well. Text could've been cleaner though. But it kinda matches the sig in a way. I also really like the FF: Crystal Chron. one. The blending is spended and I love the lighting. Beautiful work. I really like your new style. :] Keep up the awesome work.
