Well there's some speculation towards this, some people think
Archer shot him when he confronted him while others think Riza Hawkeye shot through Archers body, accidentally hitting Roy. In my opinion it's the first one, otherwise what would be the point in Archer turning up?
Anime Where is the best place to buy anime?
Flame_Alchemist replied to animeloyalist91's topic in Otaku Central
I buy most of my anime from ebay but you have to make sure it's from an actual shop, otherwise who knows where your DVD will end up?. You can usually find good deals on there and they have loads of stuffs, although they have loads of cheap bootlegs too. -
Anime Which series grabbed you from the start?
Flame_Alchemist replied to Nekova's topic in Otaku Central
Fullmetal Alchemist got me hooked from the moment I watched it. When the episodes ended I just wanted to watch the next and the next. Before I knew it the series was over and I had the long wait for the film, which didn?t disappoint me in the least. The characters and voice acting quality (for both English and Japanese) also helped to grab me. So from the start I would say Fullmetal Alchemist was my favourite Anime, but you can probably guess that from my name. -
I?m also a big fan of Metallica, I prefer their more melodic stuffs though. My favourite albums of theirs are probably Load, Reload and Master of Puppets, although I think I?m in a minority with the first two. The best thing is I?m gonna be seeing them live this year! I?m going to a three day festival with a load of bands there and Metallica are gonna be headlining one day, so I?m happy about that. Not a fan of the newest album though, or their newest bassist actually. Oh and sorry I can?t help you with that song, I?ll try and think of what it could be.

The End of Evangelion is quite memorable for me because..well, it?s memorable for me. It beats the ending to the series in everyway in my opinion.
The fight with Asuka vs the Eva series just sticks in my mind when I think of anime films, it?s just so well done and it?s quite moving.
Another memorable moment for me in anime is the last episode for Fullmetal Alchemist.
The end when they tell you what happened to all the characters and they play the song brother. For me that will always remain a memorable scene in anime, it?s happy and sad at the same time.
That's an awesome story so far! I never would have imagined Sasuke and Yuna together, I mean who would?. At least it's original! It's really well written too, I can't wait for further updates! Great job so far.

I have a number of sungs that I can?t stop listening to at the moment so here we go, they are all pretty different. Longing by Gackt ? Ok this one is a song from the Dirge of Cerberus soundtrack. For those of you who don?t know Dirge of Cerberus is a Final Fantasy game. The song is really catchy, I?m not sure of the lyrics though because it?s Japanese but the feel of the song fits the character of the game well I think. Disproportioned Head by The Vandals ? Well The Vandals have been mentioned already in this thread but here?s another one. The Vandals are known for making really silly songs and this song is pretty self explanatory. It?s about a guy with a huge head, with lyrics like ?If my body was twice the size it was then I might look alright but I don't because, I've got a disproportioned head.? you have to love them. I was listening to this in a car with my friends the other day so that?s why I?m listening to this one a lot. Some Day the Dream Will End by Nobuo Uematsu ? A Final Fantasy song this one from FFX. It?s a pretty sad song and fits the part of the game very well. Then again I can?t think of any Final Fantasy song that isn?t good. Parabol/Parabola by Tool ? Tool are a weird band, some people find them boring but they have a lot of fans. In fact I?m going to see them live this year! Parabol and Parabola are two different songs but they run straight into each other. Parabol is very slow and quiet whereas Parabola is loud and just awesome.

Gaming Memorable/Favourite Gaming Moments
Flame_Alchemist replied to celestialcharm's topic in Noosphere
Another memorable moment for me was from Final Fantasy X, yep another Final Fantasy moment here.
I remember I was playing at about 2:00am on my own and I was getting close to Zanarkand when all of a sudden I?m told about how Yuna will have to sacrifice herself to beat Sin. I don?t know why but I loved that part of the game, it was kinda sad but that?s the sign of a good RPG.

The music (Some Day the Dream Will End) really played a big part, it just really fits the moment well. I remember wandering through a ruined Zanarkand looking at the pretty lights (dead peoples souls) and listening to the awesome music and wondering what was going to happen.
I was late for school the next day because of that and I had a headache all day from lack of sleep but it was worth it. -
Well most of the monsters from the Silent Hill games are pretty disturbing things. The ones that springs to mind right now are the nurses in the hospitals. They are slightly different in each game but they are all freaky, I wouldn?t want one doing an operation on me anyways. For a start, like most monsters in Silent Hill they don?t have faces and it looks like their necks are broken as their heads bob about as they walk. In the first game they have foetus like creatures growing out of their backs so that?s pretty bad too, in the fourth game they make a kinda disgusting burping noise as you hit them, no kidding. Another scary monster for a completely different reason is the Tonberry from the Final Fantasy series. It usually goes like this, first you get a random battle and there?s a little green guy in a robe holding a lantern and a little knife. Then it?s ?aww look how cute it is? which is followed by ?why is it just walking at me?? then the next one is ?run away you idiots!?. Then you get to a high level and just kill them in one hit which is fun.

Gaming The most overrated game ever; Hands Down.
Flame_Alchemist replied to PWNED's topic in Noosphere
I?m not sure if people will agree with me on this but for me the most over-rated game has to be Pokémon. My word how many games has this one got now? I wouldn?t mind but they are all the same. You start off in a town, collect a terrible Pokémon in the grass and then take over the world. The fact that they usually come on two games each really annoys me, Nintendo wants our money no doubt about that. The gameplay is so repetitive it?s mind numbing, collect and fight and repeat. I think they will keep making these until they run out of colors, I can?t wait for Pokémon Beige and Mauve. -
Anime Who's your favorite Anime bad guy/Assassin?
Flame_Alchemist replied to xXxiTaChixXx's topic in Otaku Central
My favourite assassin would probably have to be Zabuza from Naruto. I guess it?s because he?s pretty powerful and just plain cool. Also that sword is pretty awesome, how he swings that thing about I don?t know.
At first he just seems like any other bad guy but right before his death you start feeling for the guy. Also that?s one of the best deaths I have seen in any anime/manga, that?s definitely one of the ways I want to go.
-
Ok not very long ago I thought I would try and make a go of being an artist as a lot of people do. I was just wondering if they are any good so what better way than to get the opinions of proper artists (people who can draw). Ok this one isn't even an anime drawing but I thought I would add it anyway as it's the best non anime drawing I have done. I just found it in a book and decided to try and draw it, the original looks a LOT better. You have to love Death though. http://photobucket.com/albums/f196/Flame_Alchemist29/?action=view¤t=d1f39dac.jpg All the Chrono Crusade fans that look at this next picture I do apologise and try not to shoot me. I have serious problems drawing anime eyes (as you can see). http://photobucket.com/albums/f196/Flame_Alchemist29/?action=view¤t=ChronoCrusade.jpg I had to attempt this next drawing as he is my favourite anime character there is. I don't think I really did him justice, the hair is terrible. http://photobucket.com/albums/f196/Flame_Alchemist29/?action=view¤t=140782f2.jpg This one is the same picture as the one above but I colored it using photoshop. I started coloring this one without having any idea how to work photoshop properly so I think it turned out ok considering (still hate the hair). http://photobucket.com/albums/f196/Flame_Alchemist29/?action=view¤t=Roycolor.jpg Ok well that's all of them for now, I would love to have some opinions and criticisms about my pictures, thanks a lot! Oh and sorry I had to use links I was having trouble resizing the pictures.

Most of the games music is composed by the living legend himself Nobuo Uematsu. He writes the music for pretty much all of the Final Fantasy games, allthough he wasn't involved with the music for Dirge of Cerberus. There's also the occasional song written by other artists such as Eyes on Me from Final Fantasy VIII, which from my research was written by Faye Wong, please don't kill me if that isn't correct. For the most part though Nobuo wrote the songs, and did an awesome job I might add.

Silent Hill the movie:True or False?
Flame_Alchemist replied to Howlingvampire4's topic in Noosphere
I just finished watching the trailer for this movie and I have mixed feelings about this one. Ok I?m a really big Silent Hill fan, I play them all now and again and I have a fair amount of knowledge about them. So a part of me after seeing this trailer is pretty much ?I must see this movie! It has faceless nurses!?. I like to think there?s a little faceless nurse inside each and every one of us which makes us want to see this movie. Ok on the other hand this movie is pretty much Silent Hill with a female lead character. So no Harry and Cheryl has been renamed to Sharon (I?m sure it sounded like Gert in the trailer, I must have not been paying attention) which I?m really not a fan of. It seems to me that whoever is making this movie doesn?t really care for the fans of the games, but rather they are trying to appeal to a new audience. I know I may sound like some grumpy old guy but I really love the games and to me this is a kind of betrayal. They are taking apart the games and just throwing pieces together.
We all saw Pyramid Head in the trailer but he wasn?t in the first game. He may have been kicking about Silent Hill somewhere but we didn?t see him. I like Pyramid Head but I don?t know if I want him in this movie, changing the lead character is bad enough
. Remember what happened to the Resident Evil films? do we really want that to happen to Silent Hill too? I guess we?ll have to see the movie first before anyone jumps to conclusions (kinda like what I did) so I?m definitely going to watch it. I just know that I?ll be sitting there screaming ?that?s not what happened!? every time Rose comes on screen. I would love to hear other peoples opinions on this whole changing the game thing. -
Wow awesome pictures! I especially like the Ed one, probably cause I?m a Fullmetal Alchemist fan. It just seems really well done from the color to the cheeky grin, everything is there. It?s even better in the way that you just made that up, great job! The only thing I could point out has already been pointed out and that?s the clothes. I have a big problem drawing creases, I find it tough to get the proper shading done. I still think it?s really good but maybe that?s the area you could try and improve in. I hope you?ll post more pictures soon!

Well I think everyone has weird dreams but some of the dreams in this thread put even the most insane dreams to shame. Ok here are one or two of my own weird little dreams. I had a dream not long back and I was standing in a room with a few doors on the wall and it looked like the interior of a ship (weird wheel handles and round glass etc) anyways it wasn?t just me but a lot of people I know where there too. For some reason we were looking for treasure in the boat and was apparently sunk, didn?t look it though. I knew even though nobody told me that there was a demon in the water in the next room and we had to run in and get the treasure without dying basically. So we all ran in through different doors and I found a coin (hooray!) but someone else found something better so I was jealous then I woke up. I didn?t even get to see the demon which was a shame. Another dream I had I was locked in my house by a big monkey, no kidding. So I went upstairs to my room and it followed me, cut a long story short I ended up jumping out of my window and casually walking down my street. That?s just two but most of my dreams usually involve me running from something I can?t see, I just know I have to run. It never catches me though, guess I?m just too fast for it, Muhahaha!

Gaming Memorable/Favourite Gaming Moments
Flame_Alchemist replied to celestialcharm's topic in Noosphere
The most recent memorable gaming moment I can think of is beating the Emerald and Ruby Weapons on Final Fantasy VII. It?s not as fun as your memorable moments by the sound of it but it was awesome for me. I remember trying and trying but I was failing miserably. So I went and formulated cunning plans to destroy them, most of which didn?t work at all. In the end I actually wrote down everything I needed for the ?master plan? and went to get them, listening to CD?s as I worked. When I was fighting them for the last time I was writing down on paper how many times I had used the most powerful move on them, I had calculated how much HP the attack damaged them for and how many times I would need to use it (I?m sad I know). I also remember drawing little chibi versions of the enemies I was fighting while waiting for the attack to finish. I won at last and remember screaming at the TV and doing a little victory pose, I think it may have been Roy?s mini-skirt pose from Fullmetal Alchemist. It was a great moment for me because up until then I couldn?t do it, it was like something was unfinished. -
That's a really awesome picture, you have to think Sasuke is cool right? I've been trying to learn how to draw for a little while now but I'm nowhere near that level sadly. I can't really critisize them becuase I'm a beginner sorry. I can't wait to see some more of your pictures though!

The anime ending I would love to change would have to be that of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I think anyone who has seen this series from beginning to end will agree with me on this one. I vividly remember watching the last episodes, my arms around my legs sitting in the corner of the room, rocking back and forth as crazy psychobabble flooded my head. The question ?why?? left my lips a few times, to which Ano replied ?because? and ploughed on with the insanity. Eva fights? Ha! Here?s a shaky image of Shinji floating, enjoy! Serenayasha also mentioned something I would love to change about Fullmetal Alchemist.
Episode 25 was a bad one wasn?t it? Not that it was badly done, it was very well done in fact. But the fact that they killed off Hughes was just wrong, I mean he was awesome! Then showing his funeral with his daughter crying, do they want us to slip into depression? It?s kind of a double edged sword this one, on one hand it?s just really depressing and a great character dies, on the other it?s very well done and is the catalyst for exciting story developments. Ah to hell with it, bring back Hughes!
Yeah I'm sure I read somewhere on the internet that she does the voice for Aerith in Kingdom Hearts 2. I know it isn't the same voice actor as in the first one, they probably couldn't get her to do work on the second game. The only two voice actors on the list that I know include Crispin Freeman who did the voices of Albedo for the Xenosaga games, Regal for Tales of Symphonia and Albel for Star Ocean: Till the end of time. I'm pretty sure he also did a voice on the anime Hellsing but I havn't seen it. The other voice actor I know is Christy Romano who did the voice for Yuffie in Kingdom Hearts. This is also good news for a Dirge of Cerberus translation, all the main characters are there all they have to do now is find people to voice the new characters and they are away.

Actually good news! Final Fantasy Advent Children is released in English April 25th! a little later than first planned I know but it's better than December. I think this only counts for an American release but you can always import. Here's the voice actor list that I found Cloud Strife: Steve Burton Tifa Lockhart: Rachael Leigh Cook Kadaj: Steve Staley Rufus Shinra: Wally Wingert Reno: Quinton Flynn Rude: Crispin Freeman Yazoo: Dave Wittenberg Loz: Fred Tatasciore Vincent Valentine: Steve Blum Barett Wallace: Beau Billingslea Cid Highwind: Chris Edgerly Yuffie Kisaragi: Christy Romano Cait Sith: Gregg Ellis Red XIII: Liam O'Brien Reeve: Jamieson Price Tseng: Ryun Yu Elena: Bettina Bush Marlene: Wallace Grace Rolek Denzel: Benjamin Bryan Girl: Andrea Bowen Zack: Rick Gomez Aerith Gainsborough: Mena Suvari Sephiroth: George Newbern

The Xenosaga series are kinda like Final Fantasy X, the fighting system is pretty simular and it has an interesting storyline. They are worth playing if you like your RPG's. There's also Final Fantasy X-2 but in my opinion it's not as good as the original, it can get a little frustrating at times. I enjoyed it though because I'm a big Final Fantasy fan. Lord of the Rings: The Third Age has exactly the same fighting system as Final Fantasy X. The game doesn't have much storyline at all though so I would only go for that one if you're a big LOTR/RPG fan. If I think of anymore I'll let you know.

Anime Anime that need a sequel/continuation
Flame_Alchemist replied to 5th Hokage's topic in Otaku Central
I think Fullmetal Alchemist should have some kind of crazy sequel/spin-off which would star Roy and his flunkies. Maybe in a hot air balloon travelling to distant places in search of adventure and solving crimes. Of course Black Hayate would accompany them and Armstrong would pop up now and again to lend a hand. I?m telling you no janitor, mayor or watchman would be safe with Black Hayate and friends out to get them, ?If it wasn?t for you meddling kids!? etc. You know the sad part is I would actually like that show. Failing that I would like to see a sequel to Neon Genesis Evangelion, I mean what was that all about? I would even be happy with a remake of the series with a different ending. All through the series the questions kept building up until the finale, which was just totally weird and answered nothing, I think Ano might have pulled random script pieces out of a hat and went with it. So I would like a sequel that makes sense and I want it now, not tomorrow, now......ok I?m willing to wait until tomorrow but that?s it. -
Gaming Best and worst game endings (spoiler)
Flame_Alchemist replied to fire_fly52's topic in Noosphere
Ok like most people here I have played and finished quite a lot of games but when I think of the worst game ending I have seen, I instantly think of Lord of the Rings: The Third Age.
I went through that game wanting story, I mean that?s what every RPG fan wants. I got none of that and when I finally finished the game I was treated to one of the worst endings I have ever seen, it was basically Gandalf saying ?Thanks for that, couldn?t have done it without you?honest!?. I swear I was so let down by that ending I made my own one up, it involved Gollum and Gandalf playing Chess in a stealth jet.
I can?t really think of my favourite ending, there are quite a few but I agree with a lot of people that Kingdom Hearts had a nice ending.
The song really went well with the visuals of the ending which had some pretty cool graphics. The part when Kiari is drifting from Sora was pretty powerful and sad, and then when Sora, Donald and Goofy are running down that path it?s happy. So everyone?s a winner with this ending, I mean it has sad parts and happy parts.
-
I just thought I would post warning anyone who is going to order the Fullmetal Alchemist movie from Japan thinking there are subtitles. The subtitles are only included with the limited edition version of the movie, I myself didn't know this at the time, now I'm stuck with a terrible fansub but it's better than nothing. I also read that the extras in the limited edition version don't have subtitles, talk about unfair.
