Yeah. I'm in love with a girl who only sees me as a friend. I am not a guy who changes his mind about who he likes every week. I would be loyal and always be there. But its always the nice guys who will finish last. We never get a chance. :animecry:
Always the friend, never the boyfriend. One of my closest friends told me that we can't be friends anymore. He said that because I never saw him more than a friend, it kept hurting him more and more as he saw me becoming friends with other people. I was really saddened even moreso when he applied to another school so he wouldn't have to be around me all the time. I never see him anymore. I think that is exactly what he wanted. To think, I drove someone away. I never actually thought of myself as that type of person because I've only liked one person, and when I say that, I mean truly liked one person. But we're just friends and I'm happy as that. And the thing is, I've never talked about liking anyone to people.

Well, it kind of depends what type of series you're in the mood for. Some of my favorites are: DNAngel; A family curse running through the Niwa line befalls a fourteen year old boy. On his fourteenth birthday, Daisuke is rejected by his love, and soon realizes love triggers the transformation of his other half, the phantom thief Dark Mousy! Dark Mousy steals artwork containing magical power, mostly artwork made by the rival Hikari family. Dark is a devious person with a dark (go figure) personality, and Daisuke is kind of clumsy and optimistic. They go through a series of problems, one dealing with the Harada twins, and to be released from the curse, only love can set them free. Fruits Basket; Tohru Honda, a girl who recently just lost her mother and lives in a tent, meets the Sohma family and comes to live at one of the households. The soon finds out the family is cursed by the zodiac. If a person under the curse hugs a member of the opposite sex, they turn into whatever animal of the zodiac they are cursed by. Problems and secrets unravel in front of Tohru's very eyes, and however is she supposed to deal with the issues before her? Many great morals are in this story. Full Moon wo Sagashite; A twelve year old girl with a tumor in her throat only has but a year left to live! She would very much like to become a singer to reach out to the one she loves that now lives in another part of the world. With a weak voice, shinigamis come and turn her into a sixteen year old. She lives the life of a singer and hopes to some day meet the one she loves so dear. This is a bittersweet story, indeed. Those three are my favorite series. I enjoy the manga much better for DNAngel, and for Fruits Basket I enjoy the anime more. For Full Moon, I enjoy both the anime and the manga. Other series that I like are: Fushigi Yuugi, Prince of Tennis, His and Her Circumstances, Hot Gimmick and Doubt!!. Enjoy! :animesmil

Personally, I think girls are too much drama. Spoken by a girl, no less. :animeswea I mean, girls make big deals out of their relationship. At school, I'm constantly hearing about so and so's relationship. And I could care less. True, boys are confusing. But if a girl was to be put in a guy's shoe, I would feel pretty bad. A majority of girls ask for so much out of a relationship. True, some guys don't even do anything, but the ones that actually try sometimes don't get accounted for. I think it's rare when there are actually guys that care until the end and girls who aren't making a fuss and so dramatic over everything. That's what I've concluded from what I've seen.

I see you've been caught in a love triangle. Well, basically your friend was harsh for slapping you, overreacticing, so on and so forth. As for this guy friend of yours, don't avoid him. It may be awkward, but you don't want him lingering on hoping that you might like him, but you're running away because you don't want to tell him type of thing. Be straight forward, saying something along the lines of "I don't like you", "You've been my best friend for so and so years", this and that, how you support the friendship you have right now and you haven't come to like him more than a friend. Apologize and hope to continue on as a friend. It may be much to ask from him, but if he truly is your friend, he should understand. And if your girl friend is your friend, she should understand that you were supporting her all along. But she'll eventually find out that he liked you all along, and that may lead to more problems, as well. Good luck.

Paranoia Agent... Well, I wouldn't say it was that surprising... Just kind of creepy. I mean, the last couple of episodes would lead up to that... ending and all. As for Wolf's Rain, with
all the characters gone
, and even moreso with
Kiba dying as paradise was open
, I thought it was really sad. This was also something I think was kind of lead up to. Although, with
the whole story starting over again
in the end, it kind of made me have mixed feelings. Overall, I didn't think it was that surprising. I think the ending to Marmalde Boy... They made the anime kind of blagh compared to the manga, I think. It was kind of surprising, with a mix of disappointment. I don't know, I have a lot of thoughts on that series. :animeangr
Seeing the Second World War from a Japanese perspective can be refreshingly different from the winner's point of view.
I agree. I love this movie so. And it is just a depressing story overall. It was one of the first animated movies that I cried so much in. Some of my friends who don't like anime watched this and loved it. Because we're learning about the World Wars right now, the class is trying to get my teachers to show this movie. Seeing another perspective made me unusually tingly as I watched Grave of the Fireflies. We're always learning in school how the United States suffered so much, but I don't think I've heard the teacher shed much light onto what happened after the bombs in Hiroshima or Nagasaki. This movie is definatly amazing.

Well, lets see how this goes: This past Winter Break, my sister was home from her College up in MI. Seeing as how we live on the east coast of things, she had nothing to do. Her college got back of break much later than her other home friends did. Sulking, she was constantly pestering me on what she could do. I gave her anime to watch, she watched them all by the time I'd get home from school. One night, I decided I wanted to play Kingdom Hearts, the ending, so I could watch the Secret Movie all over again. My sister came in while the secret movie was going on and she tilted her head in amazement. "Can I play this game?" I looked at her as if she was crazy. A twenty year old girl who always frowned upon me for "wasting" my time with games that weren't that important. "Uh, sure?" I responded. She asked me if she could use my strategy guide so she could get the secret movie before she goes back to College. Now, she was going to go back to her college in three days. I told her she might not be able to finish it unless she plays it day in and day out. I went to sleep, only to be awoken five hours later. My sister comes into my room, "Hey, can you beat Ursula for me? Her big head is too scary for me..." WHAT?! She had already gotten to Ursula?! I fought Ursula for her, and then she went onto Halloweentown. "Uhhhh... This is kind of a scary place..." Three AM in the morning. I was exhausted. "STAY WITH ME! THIS IS A SCARY WORLD! I DON'T WANT TO BE ALONE!" She got to the save point after she beats Lock, Shock and Barrel. "GO TO SLEEP ALREADY!" I screamed at her. She screamed back at me "NO! I WANT TO FINISH THIS GAME! TOMORROW I HAVE TO FINISH IT SO I NEED TO DO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!" I went back to sleep. The night afterwards, not the one straight after, around 10 pm, she tells me she beat Kingdom Hearts. With the secret movie. I think that is basically... crazy. She spent two days playing the game, and beat it clean.

Well, lets see. Hey Love? There isn't much to say about that. Mostly the fact that I say that a lot to my friends that it's kind of something that I'm clingy to. Plus, I wasn't really sure WHAT to use as a name. I used to always use baka panda, meaning stupid/silly panda, but I kind of got sick of it. So I switched over to my most used phrase. fin. :animesmil

Well, I'm sorry about your friend who ran away. There isn't much a person can do when someone's run away but to wait patiently and welcome them back with open arms whenever they return. There must've been a reason that drove her to run away, even moreso from you saying that no one really cared that she was gone. Just wish that she comes home soon, and who knows, one day, you'll probably see her again. As for your other friend and her boyfriend, I suggest you stay out of the drama. It really isn't worth it. If they were really serious about each other, going to different schools, in the same town/city? no less, or just going to different schools period should not be a conflict between their relationship. They should be able to rough it out and just hang out afterschool/on weekends. Real boyfriend/girlfriends see eachother outside of school. Most middle school relationships do not consist of any out-of-school interaction, so I've seen. I'm glad I'm in high school this year because the fake, silly relationships are over. They won't be apart the whole year. It's okay.

Anime If you could be any anime character, who would you be?
hey_love replied to Shadow Blade's topic in Otaku Central
If I could be an anime character, I'd probably want to be Yukino Miyazaki from Kare Kano. She is smart, has a sense of humor, is loved by many, hated by some, and has an awesome boyfriend. She learns about herself and starts to tear down her mask while still keeping her outrageous personality. Amazing. She is defintatly someone to look up to, if she was real. Another anime character I'd like to be is Mitsuki from Full Moon wo Sagashite. Even though her story is kind of morbid and depressing in the manga, in the anime, she's always full of life, and there is only one dramatic scene that makes her want to quit. She ends up getting over everything, and continues on trying to live out her dream. Plus, who wouldn't want to try living as another age one point in their life? :animesmil -
I would just like to say, i absolutely love this anime/manga, it's serious when it needs to be, and very funny in other parts. I especially like Hughes, he's awesome
well, was awesome, still don't get why they killed him off, it makes me so angry lol
at the moment i have watched to the end of episode 30 and I cant wait for more.
I find it wierd how Wrath has got Ed's Right arm and Left leg, im sure i'll find out why soon enough, but then wierd is Awesome in anime, and FMA has plenty of it
It's such a great concept, and is well thought out. I am planning on buying every single episode of FMA on dvd as they come out, and the film. [spoiler'] I sit up every night rocking back and forth in the corner biting my nails, wondering and wether Ed and Al will get their original bodies back

Well,
Hughes' death
is a major drive on some of the character's actions. With that happening, it starts linking some of the plotline together in the story, weaving every connection and securing it.
His death
is brought up multiple times throughout the series, you'll see when you water the later episodes. :)
I HAVE TO AGREE i hate the heartless but i mostly hate Ansem he is tough and he constantly is putting obsticles in your way :animeangr
Actually, I was quite disappointed when I fought Ansem. I thought he was just too easy to beat, and I went to fight him right after I finished Hollow Bastion the first time I played. The only thought that was going on through my head when
he attached to his guardian
was his mondo ugly bod. Ick!.
I enjoy beating the heartless especially in KHCM it was pure fun. Too Bad there aren't enough strong ones to appear. :animesmil The most annyoing that happens is that weak enemies appear so often it really gets tiresome some times
I LOVED fighting the heartless in KHCM. And the fact that the fourth Riku battle was supposed to be the hardest throughout the whole game, I didn't think it really was. I think one of the most annoying vid game enemy/ies was either the black mushrooms, purely annoying, or Phantom, one of the extra bosses. That was purely hell as I had to constantly use stop. Kurt Zisa and the Ice Titan was rather time consuming as well.

That is exactly what I thought and said. But she watched the first episode and got obsessive over the fact that Chii kept saying "chii" over and over again, thusly presuming that she was allowed to watch such an anime. Not only would it be a bad influence that she wouldn't understand, but I seriously wouldn't want to go through the process of her asking me questions "what is this" and "what is that" on certain things that are mentioned. :animestun But I've come to the conclusion that in many serious animes, there seems to be a perverted person that is the comical relief. I guess that's just how the wheels go to keep people laughing.

Mhmm, ADV released quite the amount of thinpacks that I've bought. I've gotten series like DNAngel, Pretear and Super Gals! for pretty good prices. Plus, whenever I buy it at Best Buy, the anime DVDs there are usually 20% cheaper. So not only are those boxsets cheap to begin with, but the store adds discount to the prices. Amazing. :animesmil
Whats perverted about chobits?
Well, I think the perversion is emphasized more in the anime moreso than the original storyline of the manga. Hideki, the main character, would constantly have random porn books in his apartment that Chii would just HAPPEN to find. Go figure. And there is the whole reset button that Chii has and whatnot. Plus the part where Chii was about to, basically be, one of those online figures. When it comes down to the hard core story, Chobits isn't really intended to be a perverted anime, but it is the things surrounding the storyline, the fluff, that makes it seems perverted no less. And my older cousin was going to have my younger seven year old cousin watch Chobits. As if I'd ever let her see it at such an age. But yeah, Hideki is the perfect example of what may be "sexism", but simply portrayed as the typical perverted guy.

Hm, actually, it kind of depends on what language. Some languages are just an ear sore to me. I know that sounds really rude, but growing up with two languages, I kind of got picky with what I hear. If it's a language I know, or a language that isn't too rough on the ears, then I suppose I could listen to it. If they have it in Vietnamese, which I'm not so sure, then I'll listen to it because I grew up with that language. If they have it in French, then sure! Why not, I'm pretty fluent in it right now. I'm not so sure I could keep up with Spanish though, but reading it would be fun. :D
Ever since I was little kid, I have had this same dream/nightmare every once in a while
Yeah, that happens to me, too. The difference is, it wouldn't exactly be the same sometimes. Every once in a while, it'd just continue on from where it last took off the last time I had that dream/nightmare. And everytime, it'd turn more into a nightmare and farther away from a dream. Pretty scary when I wake up.

The dubbed version has voice actors such as David Gallagher, is that how you spell it?, known for playing Simon on Seventh Heavan and Riku in Kingdom Hearts. Brittany Snow plays the main character... I'm pretty sure at least. They portrait the characters rather wll, I think. :D I love the part where she starts screaming stupid jerk over and over again. :animesmil
I know with Spirited Away I thought the same thing,it was going to be boring but it wasn't.[/size']
Mhmm. I thought Spirited Away was going to be horrible. Here and there it was okay. The whole No Face idea was kind of creepy. :animestun I thought it got a lot better when
Haku became unconcious after trying to save Sen/Chihiro from the stupid baby and the heads.
That's when the story got going, I think! :animesmil But anyways, I'm counting the days until March 7th. I'll be buying both Howl's Moving Castle and Whisper of the Heart! :D :D :D

Well, lets see if more people post in better quality and maybe this board will get going! :animesmil My anime crush...es.. hmm... Dark Mousy, from DNAngel, is basically my most favorite anime bish out there. I love his attitude of being out there and not letting much stop him. He is stubborn in some ways, and he is rowdy, too! A total womenizer no doubt, but still. He also has a side that is dark, deep. There are many reasons why he acts the way he does that is revealed as the manga goes on. It doesn't really explain it or show his personality as well in the anime, that's why I enjoy reading the manga, better. I, personally, like manga style Dark. The way the anime colors, the way he looks, I don't know. It kind of bothers me. They make his hair way too purple than it should be. Kyo Sohma, from Fruits Basket. He is a person with a pretty bad attitude. He's ready to start a fight with his rival Yuki Sohma. Conflicted with his past, his present, and his curse, he learns how to love and expresses his soft side to Tohru. Basically the first bish I really wished would be real. :animeswea Personally, I like the way he looks in the anime better than the manga. Takuto Kira, from Full Moon wo Sagashite. I recently got the four volumes that are out in the US so far for Christmas. And I just finished watching the anime subbed. Takuto is like a crispy marshmallow. He tries to be rough on the exterior, but is all squishy and soft inside. He is a shinigami in training, he has fake wings and wears a cat hat. (Cat? Just like Kyo...!) He's very caring and later acts on his feelings of loyalty and love. If someone like him paraded around, there'd be too many girls going after him, no doubt. ;) He looks great in both anime and manga version! :animeblus The anime did a pretty good job on the artwork, actually. Those are the three I've come to like. :D

I watched this movie in January on TCM as well. I loved how they used the song Country Roads and kind of pulled a twist of it and incorporated it along with the story. Amazing. This movie kind of made me start my own goals of writing and whatnot as well. And I love how the movie was saying "start some goals and begin reaching high for them", that type of thing. Besides Howl's Moving Castle, this is my second favorite Ghibli movie. And go figure, the DVDs come out on the same day! Although, I think the first, about half hour or so of the movie was kind of a drag, but the next about hour? was amazing. :D

I listen to basically anything but rap and hip-hop. Listening to country music is rare for me. I used to hate listening to it. And some country music, I still can't stand. But some are okay. I like listening to the classical channel when I'm in a mood to draw or write. Listening to instrumental music is always nice to listen to so I can get my mind thinking. Although, I'm more into rock. I prefer modern rock, though. I'm not much of a person into the screaming songs, or ones that don't make much sense. Songs that are "emo" are okay. But when it comes to slitting wrists and suicides, count me out. Soft rock is okay. But if it has a steady drum, guitars, a nice voice, and heck, throw in a piano, then the band is for me. Bands like Something Coorporate, Panic! At the Disco, Relient K, those are the ones I like. I s'pose. :animeswea

e.e Do you mind writing in proper grammatical form? It is kind of a sore to eyes to see writing that is kind of hard to make out. I have two favorite bands. Rooney, I like their self-titled cd best. I've liked this band since I first heard them on the Princess Diaries. The lead singer played Michael in the movie. One of my favorite songs is called "I'm a Terrible Person", hilarious. It talks about the narrator who keeps doing all of these horrible things to this one girl. Another favorite song is "Blueside". I just love the beat and background music. There are plenty of other songs that I like on their cd, but those two are my favorite. Panic! At the Disco is my second favorite band. I like them when they first came out in September. Their music is wonderful. I just love it. My absolute favorite song is "Build God, Then We'll Talk". Okay, so the lyrics are kind of ... not good, but still. It's such a good song. Another good song is "I Constantly Thank God for Esteban". The thing I like about their cd A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is that this is one of the rare cds where I enjoy listening to ALL of the songs. Wonderful wonderful. :D
-
I would have to say that I love the soundtracks that goes along with Miyazaki's movies always make me much calmer. I love all of the songs that Joe Hisaishi makes. Amazing. Howl's Moving Castle is one of my favorite soundtracks. Spirited Away is nice, too. I also like listening to the Wolf's Rain soundtrack. One of my favorite songs is Friends on it. The soundtracks to Kare Kano is wonderful as well. Many of the songs on Act 2.0 and 3.0 are much more instrumental and lovely to listen to while going to sleep. Those are my favorites. :D
Well, Burst Angel is better than Fullmetal because of the fact that it took about 8 months i believe, to release 26 episodes of Fullmetal, and only 6 to release all of Burst Angel, Burst Angel Boxset, and the Japanese OVA.
I think basing off which anime is better by the release periods isn't a great idea. It should be by the story and plotline of an anime. I mean, it depends on the company and how fast they can dub/release everything. Plus, Adult Swim likes to take their time. For whatever reason  . Personally, I like FMA better. :animesmil
