Half Scottish-French Canadian, Half Portuguese. I certainly don't look Scottish... but maybe that's where I get my out of control hair from... I don't speak any french or portuguese... I've never been to quebec or portugal... I guess if anything I look more like my Mom's side than my dad's. I think though that nowadays most people have multiple ethnic backgrounds, especially in Canada, that has such a mosaic of culture.

Yea but when America wants to drill in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, something's wrong. That's a refuge for animals simply because we've drove them out of every other possible place. And they wanted to drill it for more oil? That makes me sick. I rely on oil just as much as everyone else, I have a car that I drive to school and work from. But I would much rather the American and Canadian governments to invest that money into finding renewable resources, so we don't have to start destroying wildlife habitats more than we allready have. There's plenty out there... nuclear, solar power, wind power, hemp (can be used as a fossil fuel), there's no need to destroy a place that we preserved for wildlife. I believe that conflict was resolved, for now... but it's just a point I'm making. We're getting too damn oil hungry for our own good.

That's one of the reasons I'm taking it too. Japan is Canada's 2nd largest trading partner, and it's allways good to be bilingual in any language. Employers like that. And I honestly don't know if I want to get into an anime related occcupation, or just go to Japan and teach ESL for a bit, and then come home and do something totally different. Hopefully I'll be able to go there on exchange. I met a bunch of Japanese girls the other day who just got here about a week ago. They were walking around campus interviewing people. Lucky for them, me and a friend were actually preparing for a Japanese interview exam. So we spoke a little bit of Japanese with them. But it's soooo overwhelming, kinda intimidating. I dunno why. But they understood everything I said and even complimented on my Japanese. I was so stoked, haha. Very exciting day

I used to rent it, but then one day I went to the video store and it wasn't there, turned out it was on sale for $14.99 Try checking out used bins at video stores and keep an eye out at EB games. You could probably even get them to order it for you. I was stuck for a bit, but now I got a guide. Horray for me! -
Yeah, people I know are into only the music on the radio, and most of that sucks anyway.
Or on Much Music or MTV. I mean, it's a good outlet to get into these sorts of bands, because ever since bands like Green Day and Good Charlotte and Simple Plan got all huge, people are starting to pay more attention to punk. Even though I consider all these bands to be poo in my ears, at least it gets people into it. I know I got into punk through Blink 182... who's older stuff isn't bad but when I got into it, that's probably around when the punk scene started becoming more mainstream. Of course, I don't listen to them anymore, I've honed my tastes since then :animesmil But I guess you got to start somewhere. Right... Another Strokes song I'm loving right now: Vision of Division.

See, again, we seem to have the same taste in music skeith, that makes me happy that I'm not alone on this bored in regards to music taste! One thing I do like about the newer album, is that although it doesn't have the hard sound that I like about the older stuff that I've heard, I like how upbeat it is, and I guess as a girl, I like to dance around my little apartment, and I can do that to MCR :catgirl:

Hahah YES The Hippie Van would definately be my second choice. It's just so 70's. I love it. So retro... you know that they say trends tend to loop around, this is something that will never die! I especially like how suped up it looks :)

My goodness that's vivid!!! You have quite the imagination :animeswea Hehe, neither sounds like a good way to go... I'll go with the tar bit... I'd rather end up in tar than dismembered. Fart In Public or Shart In public sorry I can't really think of anything that good.,
-
Ahh, I'd definately go for the balancing act!!! Eating caviar or eating slices of raw fish. some people may like either of these two, but noooot I...

this reminds me of that Naruto episode... two undesirable decisions. anyways, I'm down with this.. I'd rather be stuck in a mall's changeroom, because then I could at least get the sales associates to bring me some clothes so I could buy it and wear it out haha. Although I wouldn't want anyone to see my in my underoos! :animeblus Its definately more appealing than being in a cold dungeon all night in my underroos though. So I guess it would be me turn, ne? getting tickled to death or hiccupping to death

I drive a '91 Ford Escort GT it's nice, it's turquoise. This is my dream car. A mini cooper. It's cute and small... just like me!! It would definately be purple, although I really like the rainbow decals... it says that it's a "Gay Pride" mini cooper... well, I'm not a lesbian, but I like the color combinations! I heard it isn't the safest car though, which is kind of a bummer... I would probably never own it. I definately want a car that is safe and reliable. I would rather look for that than esthetics. :catgirl: But I know nothing about cars hehe.
Rikku: S-c-rew you guys, I'm going home!
Hahha, I was thinking something along those lines.... but that one is awesome! Bahhh I don't even know if it's worth putting up a fight with competition like that! :catgirl: "The Hangover: KNOW YOUR LIMIT" -
Honestly, there is no way anarchy would work. Look at Iraq. THATS anarchy. Do you really want that? I sure don't. Alot of people would die. Economic systems need some sort of structure if they are going to work, otherwise the whole nation would be in dissaray. I know all the punk kids seem to think anarchy would work, but that's just because the only governments we've known have been useless. The system just doesn't seem to work. But that certainly doesn't mean there should be NO system. Just a better one. That's my ramblings anyways...

My vote goes for a Rurouni Kenshin fighting style RPG. You know, get to explore Japan, especially Kyoto and Tokyo (being that they play such a big role in the series), fight bad guys from the series... maybe even have kinda like a "super saiyan" sort of thing, where the player's stats increase, and Kenshin could become the Battousai. It would also have little side bonus missions... something really interactive, but also not something that has a story line that totally drags on and on, a good plot, but still alot of action. I would buy that game today if it existed. I must agree that a Super Smash Bros type of game would be really interesting to see, and you would be able to have all types of different anime characters duke it out in one shot? That'd be just lovely to play!

I'm addicted to playing solitaire. I need to beat it at least once in the afternoon and once at night. For a while I was addicted to Sudoku too. But I kind of passed that phase, although I still really like those puzzles. Same with Text Twist. I'm addicted to Dr.Pepper. Like honestly addicted. I need that stuff. It's like water to me. (Woah, that comment just confirmed to me that I'm dying young!!) Lately, I'm addicted to Naruto. And Before it was Kenshin, but I'm on a Kenshin hiatus until I'm done Naruto, plus I gotta d/l the other torrent I need. Anime Insider magazine. It's not an everyday thing, but an every month thing. I always need to get the new issue. I don't know why I just don't subscribe. My boyfriend. I need to talk to him everday. And I need him to say goodnight to me every night. Such is love

To be completely honest with you, the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was Gil Grissom from CSI. :animeswea Personally, I'm not a fan of bugs. I really hate bugs. Especially spiders. Where I'm from we get black widows, and I swear I'm definately not going to be able to sleep tonite! Soooo to make me not so wussy compared to you entomology buffs, I decided to contribute my own kinda bug. That's right the Ladybug! Scientific classification Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Arthropoda Class: Insecta Order: Coleoptera Suborder: Polyphaga Infraorder: Cucujiformia Superfamily: Cucujoidea Family: Coccinellidae Latreille, 1807 Other interesting facts: Ladybirds are found worldwide, with over 4,500 species described, more than 450 native to North America alone. Ladybirds are small insects, ranging from 1 mm to 10 mm (0.04 to 0.4 inches), and are usually yellow, orange, or red with small black spots on their carapace, with black legs, head and feelers. This next one has a little parental discretion...
The ladybird beetle copulates for up to nine hours at a time, and males may have three 90-minute orgasms in one session
:animeblus Ladybirds are beneficial to organic gardeners because most species are insectivores, consuming aphids, fruit flies, thrips, and other tiny plant-sucking insects that damage crops Thank God for Wikipedia!

if you didn't fight your teacher why would you get kicked out of school? But as a former problem-child, i guess I can relate. How I rebuilt my parents trust is to cut the bull, be real with them. Spend time with them, help restrengthen your bonds. And if you just keep that up, i'm sure you'll be able to earn their trust back. I'm closer with my family than ever.

South Africa's version of Geico. I hope that didn't sound racist... :animeblus

I think you should think it over before you just go and get a tattoo. Just going out and getting a tattoo on a whim is probably the stupidest thing someone could do, even if they've wanted a tattoo for a long time. My advice would be to keep whatever picture you want to get inked up where you can see it everyday. And if you get sick of it, your not ready for a tattoo. I have one tattoo, and I plan to get another, but I'm waiting until I find something that I know I can live and die with. But here are some pictures that I managed to find... hope you like 'em.
Indeed. You need to specify stuff. Honestly, your thread was so vague. But its ok because I love MCR too. Hang 'em high is good if you like to head-bang, like me. Cemetary drive is nice also. Their new CD isn't as good as the old one is. Honestly, a five and a half minute song is too long. My attention span is that of a gopher. The old CD rocked my face off and back on.
kittybloomes, I agree that your thread is too vague, if you want to talk about a band you gotta keep the thread interesting and open to lots of discussion, otherwise it will be closed. But I also love MCR so it's all good! I agree Farto (heh.. Fart..), Hang 'Em High is probably one of my favorite songs, as well as Thank You For the Venom... "Hallelujah, Lock and Load!" I haven't heard much of their old album, only a couple songs, but I really like it too. I'm really diggin "Honey, This Mirror isn't Big Enough For the Two of Us" I've seen them live too, at Taste of Chaos, it was effin' rad. The Under Pressure cover with The Used rocks my toe socks.
Boku no kaban no naka ni imasu. But seriously, I don't know a lot of Japanese - I'm trying to learn so that I can go the Japan when I finish university and not come across as another gaijin tourist. Resources I've found useful, if you're interested, can be found here, here and here. The Kanji-By-Email feature on thejapanesepage.com is proving very helpful with learning kanji, the hardest bit of learning Japanese in my opinion. And the phrase neko wa doko imasu ka? is a little more grammatically correct than yours. 'Imasu' is more like 'to exist', whereas 'desu' is 'to be'. Both are right (I think) but the 'imasu' construction is more natural.
CAT THIEF!!!!! :catgirl: I also wanted to note that 'imasu' is used for existence with animate objects: people, animals... oh wait, someone allready said that. I'm in my second semester of introductory Japanese. I'm far from fluent, but when it comes to grammar and vocab I'd say I'm pretty darn good. My problem comes with speaking it and listening to it. I gotta get used to that!

Yea, I concur... I was thinking of something along the lines of "Elmo, I am your father" But that just doesn't even compare... Way to go Rapture Ruckus, great shut out!
