I'm not gonna lie, I...kinda think they were trying too hard to replicate Pinkamena with unhinged/uberstressed/insane!Twilight. Don't get me wrong -- I loved the episode, but I think they were trying just a wee bit hard with this one. I mean, they're both bonkers in different ways, sure, but I'm just meaning in terms of shock/disturbance value. Rest of the episode was great though, I'm thankful for more Twilight development nonetheless. Rarity was pretty glorious as well. I also want a Big Mac plushie something fierce now.
.....How does anyone learn this much about a gaming system? *still has trouble adjusting her DS brightness*
...It's...not that unusual in this day and age of technology? Especially if you're like me and have been playing games since you were five? Somebody has to know how to fix these things, after all. Which, incidentally, I too am having console issues, but this time with the Wii. I'm starting to get the disc read error problem like I was last year. It could just be a fluke, but it's happened with Melee and Brawl so far. It could just need a break since I've been using it a lot lately, but I dunno. I'll give it a week to see if it keeps up, but if not, I'll have to take it out to have the system cleaned and the lens/needle re-aligned. Which, the guy who fixed it last time did so for pretty cheap, and will probably still fix it for cheap, but it's still a pain.

I don't have any videos of my own to post, but I hope to remedy that one of these days... I've actually been watching more LPs lately, mainly of Chuggaaconroy's Majora's Mask LP and The Runaway Guys's Brawl LP that was just started last week. I'm also rather fond of ProtonJon's output, and I'm a loyal fan of The Speed Gamers [although I wouldn't call it let's playing, they're playing games with commentary, so it...sort of counts, in a way]. On the snarkier side, I also love Retsupurae, usually from Diabetus/Slowbeef, but I've also been watching more and more of ChipCheezum/General Ironicus's stuff as well. For those that don't know, they snark on bad LPs, whether it's because of the commentary, production values [camcorder LPs are perennial favorite], or a combination of that and goodness knows what else. They also sometimes snark on bad Newgrounds flashes, video-game related videos, and other oddities. The former's recently started doing "Longplays", in which they commentate on less-than-stellar games as others play them. One example is this, which is part one of their first Longplay that they did [warning, they tend to use a lot of salty language]: I'd link to more but there's way too many that I like. But they're a hoot.

Finally been getting around to watching Baccano! on Funimation's Youtube channel, and it's a delight. I'm up to episode 7, and things are starting to get pretty interesting. It's also shaping up to be one of those shows where it's really hard to pick a favorite; nearly everyone is likeable and endearing in some way. Though if I had to choose from what I've seen so far, then Isaac and Miria are my two favorites, followed by Jacuzzi and Nice. I also have to agree with many and say that the dub is one of the finest Funi has ever produced; most of the characters have an accent/twinge, and, for the most part, it does not sound forced or hokey. It all sounds very natural and real, and adds a lot of personality to the characters. I especially love Colleen Clinkenbeard's voice for Nice in particular. It's kind of a shame that this wasn't more well-received in its homeland. :/ Oh well, it's good to see that westerners love it, at least.
Anyway, aside from the near lack of development of other characters my biggest complaint would be how Lunatic ended up
being used as a plot device and little else.
With that kind of
background
he practically begs for more quality screen time. After Kotetsu he was my favorite and I was disappointed to see so very little of the guy.
Pretty much. He had that one big revelation and then they just kinda forgot about him. Heck, I was legitimately caught off-guard when he
came back to kill Maverick
. I was like "Oh hey sup haven't seen you in awhile". In any case, best keep our eyes peeled for this Hero ceremony going on in Japan...I think it was this month or next. Season 2 has to be announced then. Just has to be. In the meantime, I will wait for an announcement of a license with growing impatience.

I'm considering trying out Persona 4: The Animation. Normally I would much, much, much rather play the game first, but it's a game that's eluded me for the past few years...so I might as well just cave in and watch it. We'll see. If I can ever get off my lazy butt and watch the first season of Squid Girl, I'd also be picking up the second season.

First, a couple of restarts: I restarted Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World with the intent of finishing it all the way through. It's...not...a very good game. But I figured I'd at least have a right to criticize it later? Right now I'm on chapter 2, though I've not played it for a few days. Also restarted was Twilight Princess. I got stuck a long time ago and decided to just start over. I beat the consarned forest temple last night, and am about to go tackle that here again shortly. Now then, today I downloaded Super Smash Bros, Chrono Trigger, and Mario 3 from the VC. SSB and Mario 3 I had not played in a long time, and I never actually played CT outside of a few minutes, so I'm looking forward to it.

That is, if she DID approve things. She's too cool for that, so she just listens to My Chemical Romance on her iPod nano.
AHEM.
It seems that Meowth is no longer part of Team Rocket. He's with Ash, Cilan and Iris. I THINK MY EAR CANALS JUST FILLED WITH BLOOD.

Some of us discovered this a few weeks ago and our brains collectively broke.
I kinda think it's a trick, though. It's only been a few episodes since then, so I'm banking on a betrayal.

I really like the new sig. If you wanted to go all out though, I'm sure you could have made an Atelier Totori sig and that would have definitely got the message across big time. :V
Thanks, and I've surprisingly never heard of that. I had to look it up.

...huh. The more you know. I guess I've got some archive binging to do, then!

I think all the threads from a certain point got deleted when we moved to the new server/site/layout/whatever. THAT SAID, using the Wayback Machine seems to work to a limited extent. It seems to not want to work after one page for multiple-page threads, though. Not sure how to fix that.

So how about that Tiger & Bunny 24, huh?
Sunrise, if you seriously go through with killing Kotetsu off, I am never going to forgive you. You'd think that Code Geass with Euphemia, Shirley, et al and Gundam 00 with Lockon would have taught me earlier, but I GUESS NOT.

Pepperoni's a classic, so that's an obvious one for me. As for others, I really like green olives and anchovies. I think I'm the only girl I know that likes the latter -- everyone I've met that likes anchovies are guys. Oh well, more for me!

For some reason I get confused for a guy a lot, too. You would think that touting myself as a fangirl and having a name that was originally based off of two female Inuyasha characters would make it obvious, but I guess not. [s]I think I'll go make a girly av/sig to rectify this.[/s] Close enough.

So while I'm a touch late to the party, I spent the past couple of days plowing through Puella Magi Madoka Magica. And boy, what a ride it was. Magical girls need a good deconstruction every once in awhile, and this does it with great gusto. I'm not really sure if there's much I can say that has not already been said, although I will say that the ending made me go ;A; in a bittersweet way. Incidentally, I love how the show wound up making me root for characters I either initially wanted to punch [Kyoko] or was relatively indifferent on [Homura...oh my GOSH Homura]. The cast overall is extremely likable and all are pretty endearing. But yeah. Great series. Now I need to go get lost in the TV Tropes pages for it and the Puella Magi Wiki.

Honestly, if you are that pressed for something to change, I offer up two solutions: - Directly contact Adam via theOtaku PM or email or - Contact Beth [SunfallE] via theOtaku [PM, email, or when she's hanging around in theOtaku's Chat]. Your best bet is that second one, because I believe Adam rarely, if ever, actually looks at his PM box, and I have no idea about his email. But Beth is sort of the "ambassador" for Adam, so to speak - you can voice her concerns to her, and she can pass it along to Adam, who she has direct contact with daily. That and, while I have no idea what Al's cooking up there, the people who can directly influence change in theO like that rarely venture to OB, so they are probably not going to see this topic unless someone directly links it to them [which might be what Al was planning], or by a sheer stroke of luck, they actually turn up. So those are your best bets.

I'm 99.9 % certain the reason for the cap is to prevent people from flooding their submissions into the site, and to potentially prevent offensive stuff from being flooded as well [i.e. shock images]. Granted, you have to wait for your images to be approved [unless you are granted automatic approval], but I surmise it's easier on the mods that approve fanart/comics/whatever either way. As for whether a premium will increase this, the premium page has this to say:
Browse theOtaku.com with a streamlined, 100% ad-free design View 32 thumbnails per page on every section Have a cupcake next to your name on every comment and PM Save signatures for comments and PMs See everyone who's voted for your works See who's online--both members and friends Submit one extra fan work per site per day Send two extra gifts per month and have access to all gifts Send up to 10 simultaneous PMs at once Create five extra worlds Embed up to seven images per world post Artpreneurship Free Download: Learn the ins and outs of business for the creative mind Support theOtaku.com, help us toward our goal of becoming 100% member supported!
...which, in my opinion, if you're going to pay, I think it should be upped a bit more...but I don't run the place, so. But there you go! I hope that helped a bit.

Ace Attorney Investigations 2! I really--oh wait, they're not bringing that over. Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright! That looks like--wait, when's it coming out? Paper Mario 3DS! I really lo--hang on, where's the release date for this, too? Megaman Legends 3! I love Legends and--OH WAIT, Capcom canceled it. Okayokay, there's some games I want that haven't been delayed/denied/canned or have ambiguous release dates. Here's a few: Professor Layton and the Last Specter Heck yes. I love some Professor Layton, and it's about time we're getting this. We're even getting London Life right out of the box! But I'll probably still just play the main story before going onto that, anyway. I'm also looking forward to Eternal Diva coming out on DVD later this year. Catherine This has actually been out for about a month now, but the more I read about it, the more I really want it. I was a little uneasy because of some of the content [adultery and some suggestive stuff], but I've read it's a lot more than just that, so I'm really interested. And it's got Troy Baker voicing the lead, and everyone needs that voice in their life. Zelda: Skyward Sword Okay, I typically could not care less about graphics in games, but oh my gosh this is so pretty. Everything is so lush and alive, Zelda looks downright adorable, and the game looks very fun overall. I'm honestly sorely tempted to preorder it, since the preorder bonus at Gamestop has the 25th anniversary orchestra CD [and I kind of have to get the special edition since it has the controller, and I don't have MotionPlus, so...] I also second Sonic Generations for the simple fact that City Escape from Adventure 2 is one of the stages and has an absolutely kickin' remix of the City Escape song for Classic mode. So much yes.

I eventually settled on Blue Rose. I relate to Karina a lot and have been compared to her, a comparison I don't mind, and I like the subversion of fanservice-y persona as Blue Rose [hates it but does it anyway because it means she gets to save lives]. Kotetsu comes in an EXTREMELY close second, though. And I think the entire fandom hates Barnaby when they're not busy pairing him up with Kotetsu. I don't like him a whoooole lot, but my ire's not as great as it was towards the start of the series anymore.

GAVIN THAT POLL IS EVIL. I love pretty much everyone and I have no idea who to choose, ugh. I was kinda wondering about where those magnetic powers came from, though. I'm also kinda wondering how
Barnaby suddenly got his memories back in this most recent episode. Was there something I missed or was it really just the whole FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC!!1 deal?

It's also on Hulu, ANN, and Viz for those in North America. Anyways, I had been staggering around in the anime fandom for a long time -- in the past two years, I'd only seen two shows to completion [Sasameki Koto and PASWG]; people would try to get me into other shows and I just wasn't feeling them. But this, oh my gosh. This revitalized my love for anime and kinda swept me off my feet. Everything about this show is great -- the art is amazing, the characters are lovable and endearing [most of them anyway], the soundtrack is kickin', and it's just 24 minutes of joy and awesome each week. Sunrise definitely seemed to learn their lessons after their past major offerings that I saw
and has made me laugh, cry, and RAGE. It feels good. It feels really good. My main complaint, though, is that anyone not Kotetsu and Barnaby kinda gets shoved to the wayside. A handful of the cast got episodes to themselves, yes, but other than that, there's still a lot we don't know about them. If this rumored season 2 comes to fruition, then hopefully they can fix some of that. [Although I hope they don't make a season 2 a pile of confusion and trainwreckery like those two aforementioned Sunrise shows got...] Also Viz needs to hurry up and just announce they've got the DVD distribution license already -- they've got streaming rights and merch rights for the states. I just want an official confirmation. I'd buy the DVDs into oblivion. And they need to put it on TV because oh my gosh that'd be amazing. /fangirl

Ranch. Ranch all the way. I've tried others and they just taste blech to me, although admittedly it's been awhile. Ranch is my homeboy.
