2. Ah, this should be fun. Tales of the Abyss: My favorite game of all time, and one of my favorite RPGs to date. The combat is fun, the story is gripping and interesting [even if it starts off fairly cliche], but the main draw this is the characters. While I hate some that a lot of others liked [Sync, Luke, I'm looking at you], I still felt myself attached to the characters and genuinely wished for their well being. It took me about two to three years to actually beat this game, and when I did, it was one of the most bittersweet feelings I've ever felt. The anime was able to soften the pain somewhat, but it just wasn't the same. Merely watching their story unfold doesn't do it enough justice -- interaction is crucial. I love this game to pieces, flaws and all. Final Fantasy VII: Yeah yeah, I know, this is one of those games that's cool to hate nowadays. The graphics are horribly outdated [3D is not something that ages well], the story is convoluted and confusing [no thanks to the botched translation on Sony/Square of Japan's part], and the fandom is one of the biggest cases of fan dumb there is. My reaction to all of that? "Yeah, so?" While I definitely agree with all those accusations, I still very much enjoy the game. The graphics, although extremely archaic in this day and age, are actually kind of endearing in a strange way, and the environments in particular are quite nice. The characters are all well written and developed [arguments about their characterization in the Compilation notwithstanding], and, of course, the music is awesome, and downright heartbreakingly beautiful when orchestrated. No matter what's thrown at the game, I will always defend it. [...Well, except for maybe the fandom. You guys are on your own.] Paper Mario series: I've grown up with Mario; Super Mario World and Mario Paint were my first two games ever, and the SNES was my first game system. And while I do love the Mario series as a whole, the Paper Mario series stands out to me the most. The games are ridiculously easy [save for a couple special bosses], but they're still insanely fun to play. The writing's top notch in the second and third games, thanks to all the humor injected into it, and the story in the third game turns darker and darker as it progresses, but left me with the same bittersweet feeling that I felt with TotA after beating it. The music in all three games is quite awesome [although the first game has the best of the three, in my opinion], and Count Bleck from SPM is pretty much the greatest villain in the history of forever [and my current favorite video game character]. Words cannot express how insanely happy I am that a fourth game is finally on the way for the 3DS, as I literally screamed when I saw the first screenshot. Oh, and my current namesake is from this series, too! Gah, I just have waaaaaaaaay too many favorite games and series, so I'm just going to condense the rest into honorable mentions for now: Ace Attorney series, Megaman Legends series, Xenosaga series, Zelda series [especially Majora's Mask and Wind Waker], the .hack//GU trilogy, Professor Layton series, Sonic Adventure series, Skies of Arcadia...the list goes on.

 4. Just got back from seeing this, and I am in 100% agreement with you. I think it might even be my favorite in the series. I too cried like a baby. ;~; And then turned right around laughing my butt off. Saying any more would ruin the experience, so I'll just leave it at that. Everyone needs to go see this, though; Pixar has done it yet again. <3
 5.
If you think about it, does anyone ever talk?
Yes. Just because you don't seem to get feedback on your stuff doesn't mean that no one ever talks. It's rather unfair to lump the whole site in that way.
I say thank you to them for favoriting on my art piece and they never reply and it pisses me off.
If it's anything like, say, DeviantArt, then they probably fave so much that they get way too many "Thanks for the fave" comments and never bother to reply. Or they're just faving to seek attention. Or both. While that is indeed frustrating, it's unfortunately unavoidable.
I just think they should've kept MyO, make improvements on it here and there. And keep TheO for new art, news, cards, comics, writings and etc..
And this is the part where I dig up my old argument, since it's the best comparison I can think of. [And since E3 just ended, this is like, timely and stuff!]
Now, as for MyOtaku. I am going to liken this to the best way I know possible, the video game industry. Every few years, a new console comes out from the big trio of companies, further expanding on their previous systems. This usually consists of internal stuff such as power, processing, and, of course, grahpical prowess. External, you have size, weight, and look. And then you have all the stuff like internet and downloading capabilities, games produced, the list goes on. How is this relevant? Thoughts aside about what people may claim about Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo, if they kept producing the same kind of system every few years, people would eventually complain and get tired of it. It would be like if we never got out of the graphics that Final Fantasy VII or Super Mario 64 had. People would complain that it was dated, and that we need to strive forward. The same applies for MyOtaku -- if we kept with that old, dated blogging system, people would whine and complain about us being steps behind the other big blogging sites. And then we have the old school hardcore types, who get upset because we are moving forward, and insist on clinging to their old systems of lore. While there's nothing inherently wrong with that, it doesn't make any sense to stay with old stuff and not move forward [unless it's money, but that's an entirely different argument], when we have the capabilities to do so. Which is why MyO is the old version, and Worlds is the new. Finally, to satisfy the old schoolers [and the nostalgic types] that lack the old games/game systems or just want a fresher experience, as well as the current generation, the triad of home consoles each offer a downloading service, in which you can obtain a myriad of older games. The Wii has the Virtual Console, the 360 has Xbox Live Arcade contained within the Xbox Live Marketplace, and Sony has the Playstation Network. That way, people can enjoy the games of the old days. Likewise, even though newer members cannot create one, Adam rather graciously kept MyOtaku for the old schoolers, to keep posting in, or just use as an archive. As for updates...while some games may be re-released in some form, it wouldn't make sense for Sony to suddenly start releasing PS1 games in physical form. Same goes for Microsoft or Nintendo's old systems. You can re-release, but releasing physical copies for systems long out of production makes no sense at all, really.
I'm actually quite interested in Skyward Sword; the visual style is pretty intriguing, although I think it looks best in the environments and backgrounds as opposed to the character models, at least from what we've seen so far. 10. The site won't load for me past Reshiram and Zekrom being all flashy, so I had to check PokeBeach itself. But...wow, that's really awesome. I wonder how much we'll be able to do. Actually, I wonder how we'd be able to upload the save file to begin with. Maybe it'll come bundled with a special USB cable, like how FR/LG came with the wireless adapter and HG/SS came with the Pokewalker?
 11. Well, as one of the mods for this spot, I guess I better put in my two cents. The first question: While that makes a good amount of sense, you're right in that it would take a good chunk of activity away from Manga Alley, which is obviously not ideal. Plus, it seems a wee bit redundant to me, so I'm ultimately against throwing the manga in with the subforums. Second question: I'm not too sure I'm keen on that, either. Shonen Jump also changes their series every once in awhile, and while it would be easy to simply move the main thread back into the main forum, it'd still be rather tedious to clean up any random threads that might be in the subforum as well. Which leads me to my own question -- what exactly is going to happen to the FMA forum once this is all said and done? Is it going to just stay there, or is it going to be pruned in favor of any new subforums? While there's not a lot of other threads there outside of the main discussion, they're still there, and I'd hate to see them get deleted. That said, I'm also all for just not having subforums altogether. Not to be a killjoy, but I don't think the level of activity in Anime Central really necessitates a subforum to begin with. Not to mention, most of the activity in the FMA forum is contained in the main discussion thread, as opposed to any adjacent threads in there. [Though, admittedly, most discussion is going to be halted now since Brotherhood is about to end in Japan, the manga just ended there as well, and, unfortunately, those solely following the English releases of both mediums here on OB seem to be in the minority]. I'm not really sure if that would change if Bleach or One Piece got subforums, either. All in all, I don't mind if subforums stay, but I wouldn't be broken hearted if they left.
 12.
And now you have probably summoned them to give a re-cap of what their argument is. And the cycle will begin again... =P
... Well, ummm...poot. Carry on, then.
 13. Although, in all seriousness, I'm not even sure what the argument is. But I don't follow sports at all, and I've just been skimming the posts, so.
 14. Yep, that's her. I guess that's what happens when
Riza loosens up a bit, even if it's just for show.
That and she's got a pretty good vocal range. As for Ling [I've not read the manga in forever, so I don't know if Viz fixed his name or not], I was completely expecting him to be voiced by Aaron Dismuke, since Funi had been saying he would return for a "major role".
According to ANN and MAL, that major role is young!Hohenheim.
Nevertheless, as I said in my previous post, I am quite enjoying his performance. He can pull off the sinister voice almost perfectly
which, as you said, will be vital for what's to come.
Anyway, I missed the initial airing of the most recent episode, since my cable went out and didn't come back on 'til it was over, but I did manage to catch it again on AS's repeat...at 3 AM. Solid episode all around. I'm getting really excited for this series -- it's getting more and more interesting now that it's in manga-only territory.
 15. Been on a Sega kick lately, so I decided to break out and replay Sonic Adventure DX for the Gamecube. The dialogue is hilariously narmy, and the camera is horrid, but I love it anyway. I'm a little over halfway through Sonic's story right now, though I would have been a lot farther if it wasn't for getting sidetracked by NiGHTS Pinball. Again. >> I've also finally gotten around to playing more of Evolution Worlds. And I must say, even though it's a pretty simplistic RPG, it's a lot of fun. It's nice having a light-hearted RPG every once in awhile. However, I had to sit through a really long sequence of cutscenes that made me think it took out a page from Xenosaga's book [even though I love that series as well].
 16.
Update (12:30 PM, Saturday) - We have reason to believe this may be fake. While the source continues to wholeheartedly maintain it's real, saying "I hope you can understand that I would not purposely come up with a prank like that after working in the video game community for years," he posted obvious "fanart" of Minotauros on our forums claiming it to be beta artwork (though later he said it was just to give us an idea of what the real Pokemon would look like). This isn't what convinced me of his legitimacy earlier, but nonetheless, his present actions just seem too fishy - perhaps his source fooled him, since we know he is an incredibly reliable news reporter for the gaming community. Like we said earlier, this may all be fake, and for now we're going to classify it as such even though it could still be real. If something proves the legitimacy of this news, we'll revisit this story and the other stuff he showed us. But for now, my sincerest apologies everyone.
From PokeBeach, where those unconfirmed features were apparently first posted. Looks like it could honestly lean either way, though the admin's currently crying fowl. Here's hoping the reporter's right, though; I'd hate to see these wind up being false.

[Granted, he's not a cobra, but...still.] Your actions affecting the outcome of the story would be pretty awesome, though, and would give more incentive to buy both games [since they seem pretty adamant about having only a single save file per cart/card]. Still, I'll be taking it with a grain of salt.

 19.
Mithos's final form
in Tales of Symphonia. It's been years since I've played through the game, but I remember
his final form
being hilariously easy. I'm unsure if it was supposed to be like that or not, but...still! I think all I did was back him into the corner of the screen and just whaled on him until he was defeated. A more recent example would be the final boss fight in Super Paper Mario, against
Super Dimentio
. The fight right before that was easy enough, but obviously it was a decoy for the harder fight, right? Wrong. So very very wrong. The Paper Mario series isn't a very difficult game series at all for the most part -- double that for SPM -- but considering how the final boss fight in the previous game took me years to defeat, the fact that I was able to trounce SPM's final fight in a matter of minutes was rather jarring.
