1.
Cool story, bro.
Why am I being dragged into this? :animedepr I was just minding my own business and you accuse me of saying words. What the heck, man.
 2. ... I-I was too busy giggling over all the different ways to mangle Rach's name to pay much attention to the article itself. I'm so sorry. D:
 3. Now now, be nice. :p Don't [strike]taze her bro[/strike] scare the kids.
 4. Being a Nintendo girl, the overwhelming majority of these are indeed Nintendo...although I do branch out, as you'll see. Formerly owned Game Boy [sold off] DS "phat" [given to a friend once I obtained a Lite] Gamecube [given to a friend once I obtained a Wii, since it's backwards-compatible] Handhelds Game Boy Color Game Boy Advance Game Boy Advance SP DS Lite PSP [Two of them. One is broken entirely. The other has a giant blotch in the corner of the screen, even though I didn't touch it for over a month. :|] Home consoles Super NES [I'm not sure it works anymore...] Virtual Boy [yes, I own one, and yes, I liked it when I was younger. It was cheap, so hey.] Nintendo 64 Wii Playstation Playstation 2 Xbox 360 Right now I'm using the Wii most often, since the majority of what I've been playing lately has either been for the Wii, the GCN, or off the Virtual Console. I do plan on dusting off my PS2 before long, though.
 5. Well, I guess there's no sense in avoiding it anymore. [Also, this thread hasn't had posts in a little over a week. I need to change that now. Also also, I hate .jpg. Bah.] Doug Walker, better known as the Nostalgia Critic as some, though he does more than just that. I've always had a thing for glasses and older men [although he's not, like, OLD old; he's almost ten years older than me], but he taught me to appreciate another aspect of manliness -- the facial hair. I still can't bring myself to watch any videos of his where he had his beard shaved off. He's also pretty inspirational; he started off as just another Youtube personality, but now he's got his own site that's growing more and more expansive as time goes by, adding more and more contributors as time goes on. His job is just to make people laugh, and I gotta say, he's an expert at that. Oh, and he's just friggin' adorable. Seriously. I just wanna snuggle him. Anyway, I uh, have more, but they all suck in comparison [read: I'm too lazy to go get pictures and post about them]. Well. 'cept for maybe Liam Neeson. But that can wait.
 6. Thread necromancy gogogogogogo! Ahh. Uhmm. Hmmm. I can see this thread has been oh-so delightful in the past. I'll try to be careful. So I finally saw this on Saturday. I didn't mind the cliched story. I personally do not care if it is "unoriginal", especially since "originality" is something very hard to achieve in this day and age, when practically everything has been done at some point or another. I didn't mind the extremely basic characters and characterization. I even liked some of the characters [Grace and Neytiri in particular]. The visuals were absolutely spectacular, and I appreciate the standard it has set in that regard. What did bother me, you ask? Well, Ace touched on it already, but I'll say it again -- the absolutely anvilicious second half of the movie. Okay, James Cameron. I admit it. I suck. I suck 'cause, according to you, I have the unfortunate circumstance of being born a human. Humanity as a whole can suck, has sucked, and will continue to suck for a long time to come. But you know what? I don't need you to tell me that. Pretty much every other freaking movie/show/whatever with an environmentalist message has told me that. Heck, I grew up with my peers telling me that. I've accepted it. If I wanted to be told I sucked that badly, I'd don my nerdiest attire, go back to my high school, and sit smack dab in the middle of the cafeteria while talking about the latest video games I'm playing. That'll learn me right quick. I don't need your multi-million dollar blockbuster and your Purity Sue Smurfy-cats bludgeoning me over the head with an anvil 'til I'm brain-dead to tell me that. I get it already. What exactly are you wanting me to do about it?! You know what this movie needed? Evil Na'vi. Despite the fact that we were being told that we sucked, with Jake driving it home with his "WE KILLED OUR MOTHER" spiel, it did show us that not all humans are bad, just the military. [Oh ho. Like I've not heard THAT before, either.] But it never showed any evil Na'vi. Sure, Tsu'tey was a jerk, but not for entirely unwarranted reasons, so he doesn't count. There should have totally been, like, Na'vi that were completely fed up with the fancy-pants prettiness of Pandora and wanted to blow it all up for no good reason. Sure, it woulda been pointless, but maybe I wouldn't have raged so much if it showed an even balance of good/evil humans and good/evil Na'vi. But I still don't think the movie was terrible. There was a lot of wasted potential; I got bored and did random research on places like Avatar Wiki, and there was a lot of interesting things about Pandora, the Na'vi, even the crapsack word Earth has apparently become in the movie, that would have been interesting if they had put it in the final movie. I'll probably see any potential sequels just because of that. There's still worse ways of spending 150 minutes of your time. It's just a shame half of that time nearly made me ragequit.
 7.
Ummm that sucks. I'm sorry. Just ignore it, this person obviously has no ****ing life and is so pathetic they feel the need to anonymously text someone about their appearance.
This. Although I do have to ask how they got your number to begin with. If you gave it to them, then I dunno what to say, although I get the impression you didn't. If a friend gave them the number, then I'd go find them and clonk them over the head.
 8.
Personally, I was more preoccupied with the fact that a trained Marine employed as a bodyguard would willingly wander away from the group he's protecting to poke some giant flowers.
Oh, come on, now. You can't honestly tell me you wouldn't do the same thing, trained Marine or not. :p 'cause, regardless of the story, Pandora was friggin' pretty.
 9.
So I saw Avatar today. It looked pretty, but I was not impressed at all with the plot.:animesigh
I saw it today, too, actually. And I agree, for the most part. I rather liked the first half, but the second half just ticked me off. :/
 10.
Just look at it. It has the o^o face. Therefore, Edokun. [STRIKE]Therefore I certainly wont be picking it B([/STRIKE]
And who was the one that made that observation, huh? HUH?!?
 11. Well, first, a thread with a question like this is best suited for the Information Kiosk. Second, members cannot delete their own threads. If you've made a mistake, like posting a duplicate thread, and want it to be deleted, then PM a mod for the category the thread is in, and it will be taken care of. [And even then, if there's a duplicate, they'll probably take care of it anyway, PM or not.] And since your thread happened to be in my area, I went ahead and deleted it for you. :)
 12. Fully body scans of the trainers. ...I'm not sure what's going on with the female trainer's shorts, but otherwise, awesome.
 13. These are all I've been listening to for the past two or three days now: I've only played the Bayonetta demo, but holy Swiss cheese this song is all sorts of awesome. I want it to be my battle theme. And now for something that sounds radically different, here's Between Sheets by Imogen Heap. The title makes it sound perverse, but it's actually a really sweet song. :) It's really peaceful and relaxing, too.
 14. Finally, after owning it since it came out [2004], I beat Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door yesterday. I almost cried. ;_; But at least it has a "play forever"-type deal where you can play around in the saved world. Good for me, since I intend on finishing all the troubles at the Trouble Center [I think I only have a few left now]. Started up Tales of the Abyss again on a whim the other day. I had a New Game+ sitting around on there, so I decided to make use of it. Not very far yet, though; I just got to St. Binah last time I played. Since this week is my last week of school, I hope to kickoff the summer with the games I got for my birthday. Skies of Arcadia is the main thing I plan on working on, along with Final Fantasy VI and Evolution Worlds. I also have a really strong urge to replay Ocarina of Time. I beat it a long time ago after renting it a bunch for the N64, and I downloaded it onto my Wii about a year or two ago; I got stuck in the Forest Temple and haven't really tried since. I'll probably just start a new file, though. I should also work on Twilight Princess, as well...I have way too many games I wanna replay this summer. @_@
 15. CoroCoro scans revealing the starters and trainers. Confirmed by PokeBeach, Serebii, and Bulbapedia. I'm a little eh on the starters, although this might be the first Gen where I pick a grass starter over a fire starter from the get-go. And LOVE LOVE LOVE the female PC design, at least what we can see of it.
 16. Aw, come on, now. We all know we all secretly want these as the starters: *runs and hides*
 17. Clicky! Just checked Serebii and Bulbapedia; these are legit -- the B&W starters. Well, as much as they're revealing at this point, anyway. I myself am unsure of what to make of them...the left immediately made me think of Cyndaquil, and the top looks like some sort of pig/bunny thing.
 18.
You bring up a good point. Most North American companies see anime as a cartoon and therefore relate it directly with kids.
Uh, what? Are we talking about the same companies? 'cause I've been seeing anime more and more accepted by the licensing companies/distributors as possible adult entertainment [not in that way, at least, not all the time] in their advertising campaigns.
Now fast foward a few years and I start finding dub sites on the internet. They aren't cutting out the blood and gore. They aren't censoring what they say. It is great.
Except those dubs come from the exact same companies you claim treat them as kids shows. I think you completely missed stararnold's point, or at least misunderstood it. They're not saying that's an acceptable mindset to have, and it isn't. The more die-hard fans need to realize that this is not the 90s anymore. It's 2010. Anime is rarely cut in DVD distribution anymore. You'll have some exceptions, like the Naruto dub-only DVDs, or the Dance in the Vampire Bund editing debacle, but for the former, uncut DVDs are eventually released, and for the latter, it might get an uncut release after all. A fairly large portion of series released on DVD have a dual-language option, and even then, that's starting to become less and less common due to money loss, which is why we're in this thread right now! And anime on TV isn't cut very often these days, either, at least nothing that alters the story or characters. Sometimes they'll cut minor scenes [that have no bearing on the episode] for time constraints, though nowadays, that's usually saved for the OPs and EDs. Every once in awhile you'll get stuff like blood and language cut, but more often than not, it's to make it acceptable with the time slot, the extent of the cutting being determined what the FFC has said is acceptable with whatever time slot that may be.
Also, can we get the title of this thread changed to something a little more accurate ?
Done. [Sorry, Ace. I have to keep some degree of professionalism around here. :p]
 19.
As in, if it means nothing then it's just for fun, in which case it's only a glorified version of Pretend House we used to play as four year olds.
This is possibly the best description of dating that I've ever heard [or read, in this case]. But yeah. I echo Missy's statement. Don't get me wrong, I have my periods of jealousy, but overall, the right guy will come along sooner or later. I'm in no rush.
 20.
Thunderstorms!
Thunderstorms. :animedepr
 21. It shouldn't. GameStop events require you to connect your game to the wifi they have set up there, and you receive the event Pokemon directly onto your game.[Though if you have too many Wonder Cards still on the game, it won't transfer. They can simply be deleted, though, if you already got the Pokemon that the card was needed for.] The Yellow Road was a direct download from the Nintendo WFC, so you didn't need to go to GameStop for that.
 22. Guys, let's not be afraid to use
spoiler tags
. I went ahead and added them to the past couple of posts, but next time, be sure to add them yourselves. Remember -- just because you or a bunch of other people have seen a series doesn't mean everyone else has.
 23. Rah rah rah ah ah? Roma roma ma? Two more weeks of school left after tomorrow, woo~
 24. Uhm. Okay.
 25.
The major differance between those companies and the site that allow u to steam is 2 things. One the site cost nothing to the viewer. No monthly fee, no rental fee zip nada. The 2nd thing is that the sites have older anime that was never released on dvd in the US. So in otherword Netflicks doesn't have them.
You forgot a third and extremely vital thing -- both Netflix and RedBox require you to pay for their rental services, a portion of which goes back to the licensing companies. Fansubs, obviously, do not, and if they did, that's even more illegal than offering unlicensed material to download for free! To suggest that rental of DVDs is anywhere near identical to fansubbing is downright baffling and absurd. Also, while I can't speak for Netflix's streaming service, I know that sites that host legal streams of anime [Youtube, Hulu, etc] still pass on their revenue to the licensing companies, through advertising and the like.
