Rose is voiced by Colleen Clinkenbeard, who also does Riza, whereas Winry is voiced by Caitlin Glass. [I made the same mistake too, once upon a time, don't worry. XP] And as for the spoiler in question, I'm going to guesstimate that it happens in either the next episode, or the one that follows. [Those who have seen it can correct me on that.] And while I completely understand your reasoning behind that, I wouldn't drop it because of that.
Nina/Alexander's death
is a very vital event for Ed and Al, one that's really important for them to develop and grow as characters. If it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure
no more animals are killed in Brotherhood/the manga
, but again, those that have been keeping track of both can correct me on that.

Oh, oops. The fan. You could also attempt to take the lappy apart and clean it manually, but I'd suggest finding someone that knows what they're doing for that. [Unless you know what you're doing, of course.]
I'm trying to watch some more Nostalgia Critic videos, but his videos seem to make my laptop overheat and shut down...:animeangr
The video hosting used is kinda insane [though it's not necessarily his fault, his hosting before that was...I dunno, and before that he was on Youtube, and as you could probably surmise, the copyright fairy came around...]. I typically have to put it on low quality so it doesn't buffer/lag like crazy, and closing out of other tabs/programs sometimes helps, too. Although if mere videos are causing your lappy to overheat and shut down, then you might wanna get yourself a nice can of air and blow the dust out. Blasting clumps of dust out works wonders. :catgirl:
I hate being afraid to stand up to people. I hate being ashamed and I hate hating myself to the point where I don't feel like I'm allowed to. Indeed, hugs are in order. *hugs*
Does anyone know a good place to pre order Heart Gold and Soul Silver?
Err, GameStop? That's where I preordered HeartGold last week.

I just went ahead and merged my old thread with the main FMA thread. I agree with the both of you on some stuff -- I found the dub very well done from the get-go, though that's probably due to the fact that most everyone's already familiar with their roles, and are able to by and large avoid the awkwardness dubs usually get early on. Of course, it's not mind-blowingly amazing yet, since we've not even scratched the surface with the story. Gotta give it time still. I also agree with Maxey Whitehead's performance as Alphonse -- you can still tell it's female, but not overbearingly so. She sounds very similar to Aaron Dismuke's Alphonse, so I'm pretty impressed. Definitely looking forward to hearing more of her role. As for the animation, yeah, I definitely gotta hand it to the original anime. While Arakawa has a distinct style that's replicated pretty faithfully right now, the original just had really lush, colorful animation that really stood out to me. Brotherhood almost looks...washed out, I guess, in comparison? That's the only thing I can think of to describe it. The animation isn't bad, not by a long shot, but I just find the first series more appealing in the visual department. I'll probably get used to Brotherhood's animation in due time, though. But yeah, I'm so glad I held out for this. :catgirl:
I'm still totally calling for Aaron Dismuke to be Ling. >>

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Sangome replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
I'd love to actually finish Samurai Champloo, but I'm pretty sure they don't have the rights to air the series anymore [and haven't for awhile...]. Anyway, normally I'd be inclined to agree, however, they've got FMA: Brotherhood on their roster now, and airing at a somewhat feasible time [11 PM/midnight as opposed to, say, 1/1:30 AM] will definitely help it. Not only that, they've actually been airing commercials for it! The last time I remember seeing a commercial for an anime was with Eureka Seven, which was back in, like...06/07. They're even airing the commercials during their Family Guy slots [which is their highest rated show]! So, that's definitely helping to expose it. I dunno. Normally I'd be in the boat of hate for AS, but...I've honestly got some hope renewed for it. We'll just have to see where this takes it. -

The only LPers I really keep track of are ProtonJon and Loudman01...and even then, they post rather sporadically. ProtonJon's Kaizo Mario LPs are amazing, though I know he's rather tired of people sending him romhacks just so they can see him scream and swear up a storm. Outside of them, though? Retsupurae. Oh my gosh, Retsupurae...the snarkers of bad LPs have lifted up many a dark mood for me. :catgirl: If I had to list all my favorites, though, this post would go on for...like, ever. XD Hehe.
And couldn't they have imagined the trauma that this incident had inflicted on the kid for such a simple act that isn't even worthy to be called a crime? She was sent to jail, handcuffed, for what? Doodles on the desk?!
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Personally, I think if we come across a subject in the PRP that we think can be discussed more in-depth, we should make a thread for it. Then we could have (gasp) topical discussions.
This. I do love the PRP, 'cause random cracky discussions are always fun, and it's good to have a place to spew off about random crap that doesn't need a thread. But I do agree it's distilling activity a smidge, so...well, basically, what Ace said. Yeah. Edit: Indi also has a good point...I don't really see what's preventing others from making other threads if they really want to. Gah now I'm all torn @_@

Just giving a friendly announcement to everyone that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is set to air on Adult Swim in a couple of weeks! http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-02-04/adult-swim-to-debut-fullmetal-alchemist/brotherhood Now I know a lot of people have been watching it subbed online, whether through Funi's simulcast or otherwise, but for someone like me who absolutely loved the dub of the original series, this will be more than worth the wait. So for those of you that waited, happy Valentines Day indeed. And for the others, well, don't spoil!
