It's revealed earlier in the series (I think it's episode 34) that if you have the remains of the person a homunculus is based off of, the humunculus can't move and you're able to kill it.[/spoiler']

So, in turn, the skull was part of Bradley's human remains, which is why Mustang used it to kill him off.

o.o......Wouldn't have put it that way, but yeah thats what you did. I try to ignore them, but one person can only take SO MUCH! Since I have been in many conversations I have been in/around have gone something like this. Fangirl1: Oh hey! Lyke do you like FMA!? Fangirl:2 OMG! Fma?! Full metal alchemist! I love that show Edward is so hot > I was high on sugar when I mentioned that. Don't mind me. XD But, I do agree with you on that bit. I can just be minding my own business, and WHAM! I get assulted with "hot" drawings of Ed and Al...yeah. Not just hugging, but full-blown...you get the idea. >>; Elricest, or any type of non-canon inscest, just irks me, especially in FMA. But I think we had better change the subject back to what it was, before the yaoi fangirls try to kill me.

Wah. D: Dagger made me cry. T_T ((Well, not really, but yeah)) ANd I agree with Panda, I love Mei-chan. I think she's adorable! And Ran Fan kicks complete and total bee-hind. Admit it. D< Not to mention, some of the anime-only charcters suck. *coughDantecough* :animeangr In any case, I do like the FMA manga, I really do. But, like Dagger, just not as much as others. I like how when
Truth takes people apart,
namely Ed and Al,
how they look like tiny bicks as they're being torn. Not to sound morbid, but I think it's a unique concept. It shows, to me, that humans in the Gate can be easily decomposed.
Not to mention, it's refereshing after seeing Elfen Lied and limbs being torn the old fashion way there. :animedepr Anyway, FMA is like the only manga I buy now, but mainly by the time I'me able to get out of this house AND have money, the newest volume is out. x__x @Ikillion - ...What, what DID we do? if its' the fangirls having orgasms over Edward, I just ignore them. XD
Naruto - Uchiha Sasuke I like Sasuke too much. I won't even talk about it because it scares people. Though, I have something to add on Sangome's point; most people seem to hate Sasuke mainly because
he betrayed the village
, not just because he's a jerk. It came as no surprise to me when it happened, so whatever..
I mainly put the jerk bit there, because my afformentioned friends hate him because of that, so I kind of retaliated against them there in that bit, but they'll probably never see it. ((I suck as a friend)) And the blurb about
Sasuke being a traitor
doesn't surprise me either. I knew it happened, but then again, I need to get off my arse and see/watch more of Naruto. ><

I'm sixteen, but people have mistaken me for older. I guess it's because I supposedly sound a lot like my mother when I'm on the phone. xD Though I don't see how, I've heard myself "echoed" in voice chats, and I sound nothing like her... That, and back when I was ten, people would think I'm sixteen. O-o I guess I consider myself to feel 21. I use big words. P= XD Words most of my friends have never heard of...

Well, I looked all over the place for a thread like this, and I was surprised that there wasn't one already! So I suppose I'll take the honor of making the first known thread like this. Out of all the anime I have seen (or most of them), I always wind up liking the least-liked character! I'm certain you've had this problem before - you go into a forum of some kind to discuss your favorite anime, and when asked your favorite character, you proudly announce: "My favorite character is ___________!!!" And you get flamed for it by n00bs and homicidal fanboys/fangirls. Anyway, this is a thread where you can discuss underappreciated characters from your favorite anime. But to keep this place from getting locked up, here's what you should put, with detail - -Your favorite underappreciated character and what anime they're from (of course) -Why do you think they're underappreciated? -Why do you like them so much? -What would you do if the character suddenly became popular overnight? Would you still like them, or do you think the popularity would cause them be be overrated? You don't have to put reasons for ALL of those categories, but it'd be nice. ^^; And please, for the sake of the thread, and my and others' sanity, do not flame those who like a character you don't like, and don't fangirl around in here, please. o_o; Anyway, on with my list of characters. Fullmetal Alchemist - Rose Thomas I think she's underappreciated for her seemingly minor role (untl near the end of the anime, of course), and the legions of Ed fangirls as well, for when
She and Ed are dancing in the city beneath Central, she tells him "I love you."
But from my encounters, they seem to fail to realize that
she was under mind controll, thanks to Dante
, and she was half out of her mind. Not to mention she was
raped
. Give the girl a break! Oi. If she suddenly became popular, I'd be happy. Very happy. I also like her because she's kind, and is able to live on with life, despite what's happened to her. Fullmetal Alchemist - Winry Rockbell I'll be the first to say I find her a LOT more tolerable in the manga, but since this is in anime discussion, I'll stick to the anime variation. I like her for her dedication to the Elric's. She'd lay her life down for them! I also find it funny when she goes on her automail spazzes. XD She needs to stop wailing on Edward's head so much with that wrench, though. o_O She's gonna give the poor boy irreversible brain damage. XD As with Rose, I think she's underappreciated because of the legions of Ed fangirls. That's not to say ALL Ed fangirls hate both her and Rose, but whereever I go, it's "WINRY MUST DIE LOLZ" or words to that effect. e_e; Fullmetal Alchemist - Hohenheim of Light Those who know me are probably sick of hearing about him, at least from me. So I'm gonna do a shameless plug and direct you *here* for my reasonings. Too long to put here. P= Naruto - Uchiha Sasuke The Naruto community is rather evenly divided on Sasu here. It's either you love the guy and feel sorry for him, or hate his freaking guts. I fall into the "I love him and feel sorry for him" category. I really do feel sorry for him! Why, I won't go into here, for most people most likely know what's happened to him. I think he's underappreciated by most because of his attitude. Granted, he has a stinky attitude, but without it, he wouldn't be Sasuke! And that, my friends, would be dull. ((And many of my friends, whom I doubt any of you know, hate Sasuke. And it annoys me to no end. Yes you're free to have your own opinion, but...)) Naruto - Haruno Sakura Why do I like her? I think she kicks butt. Alot of butt. XD I also find her "Inner Sakura" very amusing, for I can be that way myself. But why do I think she's underappreciated? Many people seem to think she's annoying. I don't find her annoying at all! Plus, every anime has to have one of those annoying characters! It just wouldn't be complete without her. XD I also like her hair...BEFORE she cut it. *cough* >_> Yeah, that's all I have for now. XD When I find the time to find more characters in need of lovin', I'll add them here.

I love talking to my friends over the computer, but much of them are otaku's, so I don't know if that counts. ^^; I also play alot of video games, which could also pertain to an otaku lifestyle...then again, people can play video games and not have an interest in anime. Lately I've been playing Kingdom Hearts II, catching up on it... Or rather, mercilessly killing the controller, seeing as how I can't get past Demyx in Hollow Bastion. =_= I also write. Lately I've been writing a fanfiction (though it honestly feels more like an original story to me x_x), and I also write articles over on theOtaku. I also draw alot, too. And that's about it. ^^

It happened in 2004, but it didn't really come into play until last year... Somebody at a different, all-purpose message board on a particular virtual pet site had posted something about how she took an InuYasha quiz at another site, and got Sesshoumaru as the result. I had put a post asking here where she got it, but I had no reply, so I went merrily on my way. A few minutes later, I got a message on the site from her, saying where she got the quiz, and it was at theOtaku.com. I went to look, and browsed around to see what they had (at the time, there wasn't much). I took a few quizzes and left. A few months later, that site stuck out in my head, so I decided to pay it a visit. And I was AMAZED at how much it grew! So I decided to make it one of my "to visit" sites. Skipping ahead a few more months, I decided that browsing did no more good for me. It was then, a few days before Christmas of last year, that I joined, with OB here soon following. And the rest is history. XD

Let's see. Three anime have made me cry. One anime made me cry twice. I shall put them in chronological order. XD In Wolf's Rain, when
Toboe died.
My gawsh, I was lying there, crying! First time an anime made me cry. Twice in Fullmetal Alchemist, once at
Hughes' funeral. Unlike the others, it wasn't his actual death that made me cry, but was Elysia asking her mother why her Papa was being buried. THAT made me cry.
The second time was in the final episode, when
we see Ed at the Gate. Again, it wasn't WHEN he died (I had actually known it was gonna happen), but it was when Ed started to cry and said "Al?" in that uber sad voice.
It ran in my head the day afterward and I couldn't stop being all mopey. XD Third time was in Elfen Lied, when
Mariko's implanted bombs are detonated, and Kurama holds her close as they both...uh...explode. I started to bawl. I'm a sucker for Father and daughter moments. ;__;
I have two. One's been recommended, but as I can see, the mod's have tackeled the post. ^^; Anyway. Fullmetal Alchemist - Ed and Al Elric attempt to bring back their mother using the forbidden act of human transmutation. Ed loses his leg in the process, and Al loses his entire body. Ed THEN uses his right arm to bind his brothers' soul to a suit of armor. Soon afterward, they burn their house down and begin this search for the cataylst called the Philosopher's Stone to restore themselves. Add great action, drama, a touch of western, good doses of comedy, loveable characters, and plot twists. Add in some wonderful songs and good animation, stir, and serve. If you haven't heard of this series by now, you need to get out more. If you haven't seen it, then shame. Elfen Lied - Two-horned diclonius Lucy has escaped from an island research facility,vicously killing numerous staff members and guards who got in her way. Guards send a bullet to her head, only to have it ricochet off her helmet and send her into the briny depths below, where one whould think she died. But, that is not the case, for she soon washes up on shore, naked, and with blood coming from her head. Two young college students, Kouta and Yuka, take her in and dub her "Nyuu", for that is all she can say. As Kouta tries to train the loveable Nyuu, who can't do anything for herself, and has to contend with his cousin Yuka's bulding jealousy twoards the two, all three are taken on many rollercoaster rides, including a bloodthirsty man who can do nothing but kill, the squads sent out for Lucy/Nyuu's capture, or possibly kill her, and others who are like Lucy - the diclonius who are meant to kill, though you soon discover not all are that way. Coupled with enough psychological and physical violence to last a lifetime, Elfen Lied is definately for the older set. But when you have stunning music, characters you grow fond of, and dealings with the tragic pasts of Kouta, Lucy, and more, you're in for a treat. Ugh, those are my reommmendations....I went on and on again, sorry. ^^;

Another thing about the afformentioned deal with
Gluttony's enhanced state, not only did he chow off of some of Al's stone-infused armor, but when he ate Dante (Thank God. >>), she still had some of the Stone remaining in her as well, which could also contribute to his state.
I guess it'd be a combination of the two. @Lunox - I figured as much that the rumors of a second movie are weak, given that the only tidbit of info I found about it was here and nowhere else. I envy the people who got to see the screening of the dub as well, but it's only a few more months until it's released. Oh, but that leads me to a question (to anyone), I've heard that the movie will be screened in certain theaters (most likely not here, given how nearly no one gives a flying flip about anime here in Hickville =_= Plus the
deaths of two certain characters that I will not name
would most likely scare everyone here XD), and that it will be screened sometime in September. But, if the movie is coming out in September (I believe) on DVD...would the theatrical release be first, then the DVD, or would it be at the same time? Or am I even making sense? o_o
Sorry for the unclear request. And thank you! That was what I wanted to know! One more thing. [spoiler'] Was the loss of his eye a result of his fight with Bradly?

No. It was a result of a
gunshot wound. There's a bit of a dispute over whether it was done by Hawkeye by mistake or Archer, however.
You'd have to see the episode to understand. ><

Darn, so there already WAS a thread made on this...I'm glad I didn't make one and make myself look like an idiot. >< Anyway, when I first heard of Elfen Lied from my net-friend, and saw screencaps of it, I was immediately turned off. Full-frontal nudity and puke-tastic gore? What on earth is this child being allowed to watch?! (She was ten at the time) It wasn't until about two years later that I would pull up an episode on YouTube to watch out of sheer boredom (or some other site...I think...), ans I was immediately hooked. For the next week or two, I would make a ritual to watcn at least three episodes a day (which would mean I'd finish it pretty fast, given that there are thirteen episodes and one OVA). I absoltuely bawled at the last episode, not because
it isn't made sure if Lucy lived through the barrage of bullets or not
but because
Kurama and Mariko died in that explosion
. I hadn't cried due to an anime event since
Hughes' funeral
in FMA, which was about a year earlier. ...Woah, I used three spoiler tags in a row. XD -points out the obvious- Anyway, I wholeheartedly love this series, and the OVA was good as well, it was able to patch some misunderstandings with Lucy's past. The first bit was funny as well. XD I thought I would be turned off by the gore, but, after getting through the fabled first seven and a half minutes, the gore became second nature and inevitable. And the nudity is actually tastefully and artstically done, though that could be argued with the case of Lucy/Nyuu. Alright, I'm done rambling, so I'll go now. XD

Ahh, okee! Thankies Dagger. =D Sangome, in the future if all you have to post about is just to say thanks or something along the lines of that, it would be better to just edit your origionaly post since one like this is more along the lines of spam. ~Ikillion

While we're at it, can someone tell me what happened in episode 12? I was forced to miss it. D:

Oh, wow. I feel smart now. XD Speaking of Eureka's voice, I hear so many complaints about her dub voie, and that it's too high pitched. I actually disagree with that - while it may be high, it's not NEARLY as high as I've heard other female voices, whether it be the original Japanese voice (-coughWinrycough-), or a dub voice (-coughMirellecough-), and I think it suits her...unless there's more about Eureka that I don't know (and probably don't xD). Then again, I guess it boils down to personal taste.

On the subject of Anemone's English VA, you said she didn't have many big roles, but didn't she do the dub voice of Haruko in FLCL? And in turn, I believe she did the voice of Raine in Tales of Symphonia. Then again...that's only two. Anyway, my cable is out, and is still out until this Friday, but I've been able to keep up with E7 online (I hope I can say that). And Anemone is indeed what I had hopes, sweet and cra-zee at the same time. :3

Anime What anime character resembles you most?
Sangome replied to PaganAngel's topic in Otaku Central
Well, let's see here... Looks - I'd have to say Tohru Honda, from Fruits Basket. I have the same color hair and eyes, though my hair isn't as long as hers (not anymore, at least). Emotions - Again, Tohru, in the sense that I am almost always aplolgizing for nearly everything. It drives people insane. XD I'd also say Haruko, from FLCL...when I'm hyper, I'm such a Haruko clone, it's scary. o_o -
This is kind of minor, but I felt it should be said none-the-less. The only near-death experience I could think of is when I was about nine-ish or so. I was swimming in what they call the "Big pool" at our local pool. I jumped off in the 6 foot zone, and I suddenly lost my footing and started to gasp for breath (ordinarily, I never had that sort of problem before). Thankfully two girls were there and pulled me to the side of the pool. I wasn't able to swim anywhere above six feet for the next four years. XD

I'd most definately have to say Hohenheim and Trisha, from Fullmetal Alchemist. Though we never see too many moments of them together, I just think it's such a sweet, beautiful pairing, and how Hohenheim could possibly love no other woman than Trisha. -le tear-

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Sangome replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Allright, here's the deal. I'm IMing my friend right now, and she claims that she saw something on Adult Swim on how Bleach is going to premire sometime next month (July). Now, ordinarily I could just watch Adult Swim tonight and see if they say anything about the matter, but I can't, my cable (most of it, that is) is out and won't be repaired until July seventh. Here's what I don't get. I looked onto Adult Swim's website, and it said Bleach will not be on until sometime in the fall. My friend swears that she saw a commercial saying Bleach was due out next month, which I find nearly impossible, since they didn't start dubbing it until a few months ago. So, the seemingly dumb question is...when on earth is Bleach going to be aired on Adult Swim? Next month, or fall? Please, someone help end this debate. D: . Sangome In the future if you have a question pertaining on when a show will come onto Cartoon Network/Adult swim, please use this thread at the top of the Forum. If you have any questions, feel free to Pm me or any other moderator -Ikillion -
Like PaganAngel said, Evangelion is a wonderful anime series that I think anyone can enjoy. The first half is your typical mecha anime, but the second half can really...how to put it...make you really think. It gets so deep into the mental and pychological aspects of man. Anyway, as for other anime I'd reccommend...hrm, I'd reccommend Elfen Lied, but you said you've already seen it! Well, in terms on pure comedy, I highly reccomend Kodocha. It's very, VERY funny, and light hearted (save for some of the later episodes). I also reccommend Angelic Layer, it's by CLAMP, and is also a light hearted anime, but it does have some of itss dramatic moments. Although, if you're a male, you may find it "cutesy". But it's not TOO cutesy, rest assured. Also, I reccommend All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku. It's also a very hilarious cat-girl anime. No, there's ecchi or hentai, but Nuku Nuku practically was a trendsetter for future cat-girl anime to come. Well, that's my list. I know, I focused alot on comedy. x_x But hey. There's nothing wrong with that, is there?

I've been looking at some of the anime netioned that need a sequel, and most of them are just fine how they are. One thing that really irks me is how people whine about wanting a sequel for Fullmetal Alchemist. There is one, in the form of a movie. The movie is a love-it-or-hate-it type movie (I myself loved it), but, a sequel does exist. So, please. stop complaining. (Although I'm just doing the same thing here. XD) Anyway, as for an anime that DOES need a sequel...I think this was already brought up, but Elfen Lied needs a sequel so badly, it's scary. They left so many things unanswered. I know there's the manga, but heck, it's not even in the States yet, and I don't know if even THAT has a concrete ending. I complained about the ending in another thread, so I won't ramble on about the ending here. But yeah, Elfen Lied is an anime that needs a sequel, most definately.
-
Well, I'm a latecomer to the thread...I guess I'll post my reasons for loving the series, like most others have. Mainly,it's due to the story and characters. The sotry is just so full of twists and turns to keep your guessing, and the characters are wonderful and so well developed! I wholeheartedly reccommend it. Now that I got that out of the way...what's this I hear about a second movie, now? I certainly didn't hear anything about it until now. And August of this year? So soon after the first movie? Hm...I advise the one who posted about it to explain where he/she got this information. If it's true, then I'd certainly love to hear more.

I was about to say something about the FMA ending, but it seems some of you have beat me to it. Anyway, as for the most confusing anime ending, to me, it's my most recently finished anime, Elfen Lied.
It looked as if Lucy was killed by the research facility, because A- the camera zooms to the sky as shots are being fried, and B- what appear to be Lucy's vectors shoot into view, as if she had no intention to fight back. But THEN, as the credits roll, Kouta appears to have that visitor, and the hadow at the door closely resembles that of Lucy, without the horns (which would make MORE sense, since both were shot off at two different times in the final episode), but since we never see Kouta open the door, the world may never know. Although, the fact that the old grandfather clock started ringing as Kouta went to the door (since it hadn't worked at all) may also hold some significance.
I know the anime follows the first 64 or so chapters of the manga, but the manga currently is not in the U.S. at this present time, and, I can not find the manga online ANYWHERE, so if the question is answered in the manga, I wouldn't know. Well, there's my rather long input on the subject. Chances are this may get overlooked, but oh well. XD
