A [B]lot[/B] of romance anime tend to be about school kids, but any DVD series will cost you a good chunk of income. The average series DVD costs about $30 for 4 episodes. I suggest some movies. [I]Whisper of the Heart[/I] is pretty good. It is one of Miyazaki's films and the only one his protege directed. If you are willing to see more than just school years, I suggest [I]Millenium Actress[/I] and [I]The Place Promised in Our Early Days.[/I] Both are beautiful works of art. [I]Millenium Actress[/I] follows an actress from when she is a young girl to when she is an old woman while she searches for a painter. [I]The Place Promised[/I] is about two best friends who share a dream and a crush. It is a science-fiction-type film. Movies won't cost overly much, but almost any boxset is from $60 to $150.

Nyx gripped tightly onto her daggers as they approached Utopia. She moved closer to Azuroth, who looked at her suspiciously. "What do you want?" he asked. "Do me a favor," Nyx said. "Why should I? You were the one who said it was foolish to trust me." Nyx replied,"I think I changed my opinion of you, at least for right now. It doesn't matter to me if Rob comes, but if you see Erebrus I want to personally take care of him." "You just saw your brother and you're suddenly ready to kill him? I won't hold back if he or anyone else tries to attack me." "If he doesn't change his mind, then I'll stay out of your way. Just let me talk to him." Azuroth stared at her for a moment then nodded. If Erebrus would not change sides, then he would no longer be allowed to interfere.

"Lokin, I don't think you should trust that man!" Nyx exclaimed. " He is a Demon Slayer; they hate those who are different." She glanced at her brother. "They would kill you in a second if given the chance. They don't care..." "I can take care of myself, Nyx," Lokin replied. Erebrus stared at the half-wolf half-dragon. Lokin was not a primary target at the moment. Orders were all that mattered. Turning away from the other three he said,"Do what you want, Azuroth, but I will not tolerate those who betray our organization. I am not some child to be taken lightly; I am a Demon Slayer." Erebrus walked away, no longer caring if a fight or truce started. "Goodbye, Aether," Nyx said. Her brother stiffened at the use of his surname but kept walking.

Few series are as close in terms of art and story-telling. :box: But you have to be open-minded to enjoy it. It's my favorite manga, but most of my friends won't read it since the story deals with touchy subjects. Also, the focal point isn't mainly about gender swapping, so you have to read a more complicated plot than teenage girls getting crushes on famous guys. :animesmil

For manga I would go with Hana-Kimi. A girl cross-dresses and goes to an all boys school in Japan to be near her sports idol. At first she just admires his athletic skills, but it turns into a crush. It's a romantic comedy with a good mix of characters. The pace is sort of slow, but you don't get bored reading it. I have never actually read it, but there is another manga called Kill Me, Kiss Me that looks cute. Two practically identical cousins--1 boy, 1 girl-- switch places so the girl can be near her idol/crush. I think this is also a romantic comedy. The plot sounds similar to Hana-Kimi.(Almost exactly the same.)

Because art has no true definition, it is hard to define where games stand in what is considered art. Kojima-san thinking that games are not art does not seem unreasonable. Many video games should definitely not be called art. The Guy Game, Barbie Horse Adventure, the Superman 64 game and other similar creations fall far from being art. (In fact, you can barely call those games.) I do feel that many games, such as the Legend of Zelda series, should fall somewhere into the art category, but their makers don't necessarily feel this way. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all. (I'm really long-winded and ranty today.) ;)

Negative (-)267 is my favorite number. It has no ties to anything specific, but I just like the way it sounds. If you suffer vengeance --267 times over, would that mean you get rewarded instead of punished?

We still get 3 points added for honors and 5 points for AP classes. I plan on taking all advanced classes, too. The extra points should count because you work harder when you could be taking regular classes. I am not really experienced when it comes to what colleges look at, though, because I am an idiot freshmen.

My small town has garnered some fame for something I think is fairly unique: mules. That's right, I live in Columbia, TN, the mule capital of the world. I doubt any of you have heard of it, unless you are in the mule business or live here in Columbia. Every first Saturday in April we have a parade dedicated to mules that also deals with other farm animals, and we have a festival of sorts. I would definitely be shot. It would probly be a lot quicker, as long as I was shot in the vitals and not left to die of bloodloss from a bullet to the foot. ;) Would you rather eat ground glass or be locked in a nice, fully furnished and staffed mansion for the rest of your life being forced to watch the horrible dubbing and editing Fox has done to One Piece, Shaman King, etc.?

Sara always wears a mix of black, blue, and red. She has several piercings: four places on the left ear, three on her right, one on her lower lip, and one in her belly button. A tattoo of bloody black wings is on her back. She always wears her red headphones and drowns out her troubles listening to J-Rock. Personality: Because she was always shy as a child, she never made any real friends. To most people's surprise, she is an avid reader. Now that she is older, people do not talk to her because most of them just think she is a freak. Sara rarely does any real vandalism, but people have decided she is a bad person, so they automatically blame her when something is wrong. Currently she is in foster care. Her father drank all the time and often beat Sara. Her mother died when she was three. This made her bitter. She didn't want to hate the world, but the world wanted to hate her. All she wants is to defend herself. Reaction to Visit: It was 3:45 on a Wednesday when Belial came to visit. The demon appeared beside her while she sat in the park near her current foster family's residence. Normally, cigarette smoking demons with dark auras don't apparate right beside you, but none of the other people in the park took notice of Lucifer's messenger. You are not the type to refuse to attention. Would you like people to notice you exist?" Belial touched Sara's forehead. She felt an immense and strange feeling flow through her. "Lord Lucifer has given you something and expects to be repaid. There will be two more like you. Do not disappoint him." After saying that, Belial vanished. Sara took a few days to understand what had happened. She discovered she held impressive powers, and she liked the feeling. It started slowly, lighting a candle by looking at it, making one of the peopl who bullied her twist an ankle, but her thoughts soon turned to the man who had tormented her since the day her mother died. She made plans to leave to search for the other people with these powers. After that, she would pay a visit to her father.... *edited because Belial is definitely a guy with a chosen appearance*

Erebrus could not comprehend what had just happened. Kelvin had given him his sister and actually spoken with manners. This had never happened to him before. All he had ever been taught was that demons were horrible creatuers, but Kelvin acted kindly.[I]"No," he thought. "Demons have to be evil! They hurt Nyx! It's all I have ever been taught."[/I] He made a move to strike Kelvin, but something blocked his spear. Azuroth had blocked his weapon. He spoke to the older slayer and turned back to Nyx. Even though Erebrus felt it was his right to slay the serpent, Azuroth's reasons for fighting Kelvin did not matter as much as Nyx at the moment. "They aren't all bad, brother," she whispered. "Kelvin took me away from a battle. And Lokin didn't want me hurt, either. I cannot watch you all kill each other." Nyx's reaction stunned Erebrus. He noticed the silver band around her neck that marked her as a DDS member. His sister had left to help [I]demons.[/I] She slid her knives back under her coat and gave her brother a quick hug. Nyx kept silent, but tears streamed down her face. "You betrayed me to help demons?" he asked. "I can't betray you, Erebrus. And I can't betray myself,either. Will you leave the DSS?"Erebrus shook his head. "Then we are forced to be enemies. Just know that I can never hurt you, brother." Nyx drew her blades again. All emotion left Erebrus as he watched Nyx. "Since you joined the DDS, you have already hurt me, sister. I guess we will be enemies." Neither twin could fight the other, but they could still choose sides in battle.

Nyx felt stunned at the sudden change of events. Lokin forcefully ordered her off of the battlefield, and who was she to argue with a fully grown demon? Kelvin appeared before her and offered to take her away from the battle. At first she felt some fear looking at the impressive sea demon. Although she worked to help demons, she had still been taught to exercise caution. Some demons occasionally made young women into a meal. But when she looked into Kelvin's dark eyes, she felt strangely calm. Nyx allowed him to take her away from the battle. It did not take long, though, before she felt fear-- and oddly excitement-- rising in her chest again. As Kelvin took her down the beach, she saw her brother for the first time in two years. He was charging towards them with a black spear. She tried to speak, but her mouth would not form words.[I]"Please don't let them kill each other!"[/I] she thought. ________________________________________________ Erebrus had not seen Azuroth or Rob, so he went searching for Kelvin by himself. Strong auras led him to the beach. His communicator picked up the signals of his fellow Demon Slayers close by. He folowed the signal, but had no idea of what was waiting for him. The sea serpant he was supposed to be hunting carried his sister across the beach. Normally he kept free of emotion, but it had been so long since he had seen Nyx. Rage filled Erebrus as he saw the filthy beast that dared to touch his younger twin. Every thought in his mind focused on slaying the demon. He ran towards Kelvin drawing his spear, prepared to fight. He had not heard from Nyx in two years, so he had no idea she was in the DDS. "What in the seven hells are you doing with my sister?" he yelled.

"I said I'd wait for someone to surface," Nyx murmered,"but I didn't think it would be like this." Kelvin's form moved closer to her as she watched the demon underwater. While he moved towards her she felt another person take her back, but this presence was human. She turned slightly and saw Azuroth coming up behind her. Members of the Demon Slayer Society hated people like her almost as much as they hated the demons themselves. "Move too close and I will let my blades taste blood." She said this more to herself than to the Slayer. Nyx planned to let him move first. As long as he left her alone and did not try to kill any demons, she would not fight with him. "As if there is any chance of him leaving peacefully," she said bitterly. Nyx turned to see both Azuroth and Kelvin. Even as she took a fighting stance, she knew it was impossible for her to stop them if they chose to fight.

Nyx felt the pressence of the demon she saw earlier. They nearly ran into each other once again. They spoke briefly when she told him she was going to the beach. Much to her surprise, the tall demon picked her up and transported her to the beach. Nyx had not even introduced herself and he had already touched her twice! Most demons barely tolerated humans. She felt another demonic aura as Lokin put her down on the beach. He dove into the water leaving Nyx on the sand. She felt unsure of what to do. There were Slayers beneath the water, but she could do nothig without diving gear. Under the black clothes she wore, Nyx carried the weapon she had been given by the DDS. Nyx pulled out the twin blue daggers she hid in her sleeves. Each blade was 10 inches long with a silver and blue handle. One dagger had the words [I]darkest night[/I] engraved into the blade and the other bore the words [I]darkness of the underworld.[/I] Nyx waited for some one to surface. If she could help the demons she would, even if it meant fighting.

Nyx walked into the bar Lokin had just exited. She set to work clearing away the bodies of the dead DSS members. The young girl knew the man who had just spoken to her in the street was a demon in disguise, and she knew he had slain these Demon Slayers. Nyx refused to show any sign of pain, but she hated to see [I]anyone[/I] killed. But she had chosen a side and she would stick to it. She understood that peace would come after bloodshed. Demons and humans had a chance to coexist peacefully, and she would do everything she could to see it happen. After she finished clearing the bodies away, Nyx just prayed that she would never meet her twin this way. "I really need a break," she sighed."Maybe I'll head to the beach." The teen headed towards the sandy expanse, unaware that Kelvin was already there. ______________________________________________________________________ Erebrus felt an angry aura as he walked away from the Demon slaying headquarters. Alina must be upset, he thought. A sudden beeping alerted him to the small electronic communicator he used to stay in contact with other members. A message was displayed on the small screen. It said the demon Kelvin now topped their hit list. He did not care about the bounty, but he decided to go after the demon for two reasons. Alina lead the Slayers so he had to obey her orders, and killing demons distracted him from the fact that Nyx had been missing for two years. He grabbed the black spear with a silver blade that he used on every mission and went to look for Azuroth and Rob. [I]If this demon makes Alina so upset, it might be better to have some help,[/I] he thought.

Nadeshiko[/QUOTE] Concerning the Filler Episodes:Basically ALL of the episodes of the anime after the Kyoto Arc are filler. They never made the Jinchuu Arc with the other anime episodes, so you have to read the manga to see the real story. I think the manga is better than the animation either way. None of the last anime shows ever happened within Nobuhro Watsuki's original story. Note that I am not referring to the OVA's, but I think most of those had nothing to do with Watsuki-san's real story, either.

History:Every member of her family belongs to the Demon Slayer Society. Her childhood was spent preparing to join the DSS as well. Her parents thought of her as a tool at best. She grew up studying academics and weapons use with with private tutors. Erebrus, her twin, was her one source of love and comfort. He always paid attention to her. There was no one she loved more. When she was six, she was attacked by a demented snake demon. Before it could could strike a killing blow, a phoenix in the form of a graceful red-headed woman saved her.The phoenix used her powers to heal the wounds the snake inflicted. Nyx decided that not all demons were evil. She became friends with the phoenix who was the only person aside from her brother to ever show her love. Two months passed before her parents found out about the phoenix. Nyx witnessed her father kill the fire-bird before her eyes. From that day forward, she decided that the only demons in the world were those that killed the innocent. She still loved her her brother,even though he devoted himself to the DSS, but she could not walk the same path he did. He was never much of a conversationalist, but in the past two years he has spoken only when absolutely necessary. Erebrus devoted himself to the Demon Slayers because that was all he ever learned to do. The only family he ever cared for disappeared, and he now sees emotions as a complete waste of time. History:His parents trained him to be the next heir of his family since he drew his first breath. He always obeyed his parents--his was taught to, after all--but he never loved thm. Their relationship was pure business. Nyx, however, loved him for just being her brother. He loved his devoted sister; she did not expect anything from him as everyone else in his life did. She only wanted to play together. When Nyx was six, a demon attacked her. He never knew exactly what happened. One day she went out to explore their vast estate alone, and came back with scars covering her body. He knew from that moment on he personally wanted to kill all demons because of the one that hurt his sister. Nyx never told him why she cried over a dead fire demon two months later. The firey bird was an evil beast, wasn't it? He ordered a necklace with one of the phoenix feathers that had been saved as demonic samples to be used as a charm. He gave to his sister who loved the present. He guessed she had merely thought the bird pretty. Life continued in a predictable pattern until Nyx disappeared. The only trace left of her was the phonix-feather necklace on his pillow. He stopped feeling, stopped caring about whether he lived or died, and focused only on the art of slaying demons.

I've loved Cowboy Bebop since I saw it during its first run. Which was actually kind of inappropriate since I was only 11. I am pretty much a Bebop fangirl. :blush: The music of the show literally wakes me up out of bed at night. All of the animation is gorgeous, and the stories are well-written. All of the characters will endear themselves to you. Besides,Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV is the greatest hacker-child that ever will be. I am a crazed fangirl, aren't I?

Cowboy Bebop has the best ending that I have seen in anime. Even though it is over 8 years old it is still as good as the first time I saw it.[spoiler]When Spike dies--I know it is debatable but I still say he died-- after killing Vicious, he just calmly walks away and says ''Bang.'' That is my favorite death scene out of all the anime I have seen.[/spoiler] The song that is played after that,"Blue",is one of my favorites, and it fits the scene well. If I leave the TV on and that song plays when I am asleep,it wakes me up.[spoiler] The star that fell at the very end representing Spike is one of the simplest but most poignant scenes I have seen. I also like the part in ep.24 "Hard Luck Woman" where Faye lies down on the door step of her former home made. That made me tear up the first time I saw it. Ed and Ein leaving made me sad,too.[/spoiler] There might not be any point in the spoilers since they have had it on Adult Swim for 6 years now. If you haven't seen Cowboy Bebop, then you should definitely watch. It's still just as awesome now as it was when it first came on.
