Match the Actor or Actress with the three movies
NorykoAngelcry replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
Well, only person I can think of is Ewan McGregor. . I have never heard of Velvet Goldmine, so I'm going off the other two. I know Ewan was in both BHD and DWL. . so that's my guess. And I'm going to re-ask my question: X2 Braveheart Troy It's an easy one! lol -
Match the Actor or Actress with the three movies
Erg. That one is hard. Uh Answer: Liam Nelson Clues: Star Wars Episode One The Hole Bend It Like Beckham (Other Clue: She was in all the same movies as the last guy)
Wait. . Liam Neeson wasn't in Pirates of the Carribean . . however your own clues to your actress gave away Transtic's actress. . Keira Knightley, I believe is the actress that he was talking about also. .
Keira Knightley... Waterworld The Jackal Enemy of the State
This one had me stuck for a while, since Kevin Costner kept popping in my head for Waterworld and throwing the other two movies off in my head. . after thinking about it for a while, I came up with Jack Black. . this guy has more cameos then I can think of. . I know he is in The Jackal and Enemy of the State. . but I am only guessing on Waterworld. . Not sure if that's right, but I'm going to go ahead. . ignore me if I am wrong ^_^ So, I'll make it pretty easy: X2 Braveheart Troy I know. . pretty easy. .I threw in a bunch of new movies so most everyone will be able to get it.
Actually, all things electronical have load times. Some just have less then others. And PSP's load times won't be any longer then say GameCube's (in fact, they're likely to be shorter on average), as the disc's radius is quite small, meaning the laser has only a small distance to travel to find the info. (The PSP doesn't use CDs, it uses a new medium thats sorta like a minature dvd encased in plasic, called the UMD) It also has a large bardwidth from the disc to the PSP, and 32 mb of RAM, so load times shouldn't be a problem.
I doubt that the PSP will load faster then the DS. . I mean, I don't care what type of new medium they have. I don't know how well the optical reader will be, that, if I am not mistaken, the PSP is goig to be using. I know that those break down pretty easy, but who knows. I think I read somewhere about them using an optical reader, but I don't really want to qoute on that, in case I am wrong. . I think Nintendo is once again going to be hurt by the fact that they are SO commited to providing gamers with. . well, gaming machines! Sony and Microsoft seem to realize that most gamers like gadgets. . I think that with the PSP being more justly classified as a gadget over the DS being an innovative gaming machine, it is going to do well on that note alone. I am a little nervious about the screen being. . uncovered. I don't like to play my portable systems in cases. . I want to be able to toss the sucker in my pocket, go to work, and pull it out when I want to game. I keep keys, change, and other objects in my pockets. Things that normally would kill a game with an exposed screen. The DS is going to rock because, once again, they are going to have a flip open machine. A bad thing I heard about the DS is that the touch-screen gets scratched pretty easily. Nintendo said that they are working on a solution though. I know that Nintendo has said that they are going to have a slot for both the new DS game cartridges and the old Advance and lower cartridges - saying that you could pop in old games with new upgrades. This sounds a little like the N64 Disk Drive that they were working on (except this time it's being built in), except that I still don't see them using this much. Well, the biggest factor for most gamers is price and battery life. . I think the DS will be cheaper, and it's battery life is still going to rock. I have heard estimates of the PSP running anywhere from $200 - $300 (with the higher price being the more probable). . Anyways. . I will definitely pick up the Nintendo DS, simply because the First Party games again make a system worth getting. I am seriously hoping that a lot of Third Party software companies jump on board this system, making it even stronger then I feel the DS is. While I don't mind having re-hashes of classic games, I would hope that if Nintendo tries to make any of these for the DS, that they keep in mind a cheap price on them (I don't want to have to pay $20 for Donkey Kong for example). . I don't know how you guys are saying that the PSP screens are so much better then the DS screens. . Your seeing totally different styles of games in screen shots. . Show me the same game, or same types on either system and how it looks, and then maybe I'll try to make up my mind. As for right now, both have some nice screens out for many of their games. . It's just a little too early to tell right now.

I am so happy that nothing happened. I don't have any reason not to believe you, so of course, I take it as your word. . that's besides the point though. I am happy that you are ok, though, perhaps a bit shaken up at the moment. No need to get upset at anyone for not believing you. People have a natural defense to well, not believe what people say, especially if it's something that doesn't happen to them everyday. . Don't worry about what other people think. You know what happened. .

I really can't think of many of my classic glorious moments in gaming. . but one of the games I tend to play a lot with friends currently is Halo. The other night, I was playing against my older brother Chris (who is pretty good at the game), my brother David (who, himself, is pretty good), my buddies Jay and Erick (both are ok). . and then they gave me our buddy Josh (who sucks) as a handicap. . Well, I ended the game with 48 points (49 kills, but I killed myself on accident once). . it was pretty awesome, the next closest point count was 13 points. . it was a lot of fun. We also played a shotgun only game in the Tombstone level, where me and Josh just pwned everyone! lol, it was a lot of fun, and they couldn't believe that we could pull off a victory (it was like a 3 point game, and was going back and forth for the whole game. . )

I really enjoyed the movie. Sure, parts could have been different, but overall, I was happy with the end result. I think some parts were over-acted, but it's not like it was THAT many scenes. I think there were a bit too many screams going on. . I mean, when I scare someone woman or man. . they don't scream like that. Granted, I don't have 4 giant metal (though, non-magnetic) tenticles coming out of my back. .but my point still stands! I would have liked for them to work Harry's descent a different way. . but it's obvious that it would have happened someway like that. The movie seemed to drag on a little bit, especially the scene with the scene where he eats the chocolate cake. . O.o Maybe I missed something there. I mean, I know she likes Peter. . but was that all that was supposed to show? I really enjoyed Aunt May's speech to Peter about a Hero. . it was really well written. The biggest gripe I had about this movie is that they tried to go away from making the movie for the comic book fans to attract more people. It wasn't that big of a deal, but too much talking in an action movie tends to make it a slow movie. The two hour movie felt more like a three hour towards the end. . On a side note. . Transic, you mentioned something about Spiderman 3 having Green Goblin. . did you mean the Hobgoblin? Or did you actually mean the Green Goblin? I am a little rusty on the Spideman stories, so I don't know if Harry is going to become Green Goblin after his father, or Hobgoblin. . it's been a long time.

I have a few favorite teachers, but the best one I have ever had would be my JROTC teacher, First Sgt. Quarterman. He passed away this year, and I am sorry to lose such a good teacher and a good friend. I really enjoyed him as a teacher. He was a great guy, and an excellent educator. I think he was probaly better then most of the other teachers I have ever had. I mean, he challenged us, no matter what the situation. If we came to class late, he made us do a 5 minute speech about whatever random word that he would think about. . I think I probably got more comfortable speaking in front of crowds from his class then with any other class that had me make speeches. His exams, for an elective class, were much more difficult then any of the other classes I took. He didn't give the all-to-easy multiple choice tests that other classes gave. He gave essay tests, or short answer tests. . It was difficult, but all the better. . I will truly miss him, both as a mentor, and a personal friend. Many of my brothers have had classes with him, and quite a few close friends also. . We all hold him in high regards, and the school and community suffered a great loss. .

Not the biggest Rockstar fan to say the least. . but I will admit that I was impressed by the game. Sure, it could have been a lot better, but there were quite a few levels that kept my interest, the 'bounty hunter' game (replay old levels to unlock people/cheats) was pretty fun, and added a new challenge. . I enjoyed playing the multi-player levels. . we would just sit around for hours playing the 'hold-em' style match. . whatever. . vs. a couple computer characters. It kept us entertained for the night (I say us, because my friend rented it to test out). Anyways, I would recommend people to rent the game. . some of the levels get stale fast, but some of them are entertaining. . I especially enjoy how they use western weapons from around that time. Nothing really fancy, and the accuracy isn't always dead on, unless you stand totally still. . it's a nice change from the 90 shot (or whatever) clips in most modern/futuristic games. . I particularly like how some of the two shot shotguns really make you appreciate using cover. . I don't really use cover in most games now, so it's nice to be reminded what those boxes and windows and sides of buildings are for ^_^

Gaming The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
NorykoAngelcry replied to Desbreko's topic in Noosphere
Most of the people that I know that are really interested in this game already have a GBA SP. . so, I'm not too worried about this game. I do agree with you though Sciros, that for younger gamers, this may be a bit high priced to partake in the game, however, I see so many people running around with GBAs. . that it doesn't seem as far fetched as some may believe. As for being a bad controller? . . I have played the GBA on a drive to Texas (16 hrs to, and from). . I didn't mind it at all. Want a bad controller? Go with a PS1 or PS2. . I can't play with one of those for longer then a few hours before I get cramps in my hand. . So, GBA SP might not be the BEST, but it sure beats out a lot of them! -
I really enjoyed it. I thought that because it was so long, it would be like Titanic and be very patchy at times, but I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I'm probably going to see it again soon.
Never compare Troy to Titanic again . . . Ok. . my thoughts? I loved the scenery and costumes of the movie. The movies scope really seemed to be huge, and beautifully done, CG or not! Troy actually seemed to be a real city, and all of the locations inside or outside of the buildings really seemed to put me into the movie that much further. I appreciated the majority of the costumes that were in the movie. The suits of armor really didn't seem overly ornate and the majority of the weapons seemed pretty dull and ordinary. Even the more extravagent weapons and armor/outfits seemed toned down a bit, it was really nice to see. As for the battle scenes? They were really exceptional. . I found myself in awe of a few of the scenes -- especially the first attack on Troy by the Greeks. The battle between Hector and Archilles was one of the best I have seen in a LONG time in movies. I really liked how it wasn't just a battle with these heroes going for instant kill shots.
I would have liked for Achilles death to be a little better done though. . But I won't go into details, I'll just say it was . . weak! ^_^ lol
What else. . Well, I really enjoyed the 'slow' parts of the movie. It tended to give a little bit of insight as to what some of these people were going through. I also enjoyed the acting in the movie. I think people that don't like the acting are really going to the wrong types of movies out there. . go see something like House of Sand and Fog. My own thoughts on that though. . so, whatever ^_^ I give the movie an 8 out of 10.
Actually, NorykoAngelcry, David Wenham was the entire reason I went to see the movie. ¬_¬ On the lighter note, I thought Dracula was adorable. Who played him? I want his phone number! ¬_¬ ~Lumi ^_^
You make it seem like it was a bad thing that you went just to see David Wenham? Or am I misreading the face that you used? ^_^ As for Dracula, he was played by the very talented Richard Roxburgh -- Most known, I would think, for his roles in The League of Extraordinary Gentleman (he played M) and Mission Impossible 2 (he played Hugh Stamp - henchman of Sean Ambrose) and Moulin Rouge (as the Duke). . As for his phone number, he told me not to pass that around, sorry Lumi..
*twitches* I think I'm the only one on earth who doesn't like the Princess Bride. I did not find it funny at all...the only thing that made me laugh was the ROUS. Like, seriously. I hate this movie. O_o. My friend kept on calling me insane that I haven't watched this movie before and they forced me to watch and I fell asleep at NINE O' CLOCK because I thought the movie was so boring. I was sitting there the whole time asking my friend when the movie was going to end. I mean...*fidgets* I need to prepare to get attacked by millions of people.
Who is going to yell at you? You like your own stuff! That's a good thing, there isn't anything wrong with that. Now if you said you hated Star Wars. . (lol, just messing around!). . Anyways, I know some people who don't really like the movie either. They admit that they don't hate it, just think it gets boring at some parts. . It's all good Maladjusted!

(scene where the masked man is climibing the rope, chasing after Vinzinni, Inigo, Fezzik and Buttercup. Vizinni cuts the rope, and peering over, they see the masked man still hanging onto the ledge) "He's got very good arms." - Inigo "He didn't fall! Inconcievable!" - Vinzinni "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. . ." - Inigo Montoya I used to sit at work with my buddy Jay. We would pass the time (LONG 10hr shifts) by qouting this movie. . It was a great way to spend time, I mean, everything about this movie just makes you laugh! The whole scene with Billy Crystal and Carol Kane. . . it was just brilliant! Inigo Montoya was just the best part of the movie. . He had some of the best lines, and was just a riot to watch through the whole movie. "I am waiting for you Vizzini! You told me to go back to the beginning, so I have. This is where I am, and this is where I'll stay. I will not be moved." - Inigo "Ho there!" - Angry Brute "I do not budge. Keep your ho there." - Inigo I could go on for hours. . I am almost ashamed that I don't have this movie. . I don't know why, I just never remember to get it!. . maybe because I have almost the whole movie memorized, I don't see a reason to? . . *shrug*

The Simple Life and The Simple Life 2:Dumb Blondes
NorykoAngelcry replied to kenshinsbabe's topic in Noosphere
Well. . sadly, sex sells. . as does stupidity. Why do shows like America's Dumbest Home Videos and Cops do so well? Because they are often a mixture of the two. . The Simple Life is just the culmination of those things. . Put two beautiful (sorry if that word is too strong for some. . I don't like them, but you can't deny it) women in normal - yet, totally unnatural - situations for them, and you have the Simple Life. . .A pathetic show that hopes on a few big factors. . 1) young girls will watch it because they want to see these 'role models' and how to dress/act/look like them. . 2) males of all ages, who by watching the show, think that by hoping hard enough, that they have some chance with these women. . I have never watched either, so perhaps my perception on the show is off? . . But I think I have the basics of it! I will again, NOT tune into this program. I like a lot of what FOX puts out. . but this is just one of those shows that I stay away from. Sorry if this hurts anyone's feelings, but I don't think that just because you are rich, that you deserve the respect of everyone, it takes a little more then that! -
I think the reason I enjoyed it so much, was probably because there was a monk, and he always had these funny lines! ".. okay well, you guys can tell me how that goes when you get back.." - monk
That FRIAR (remember, he wasn't a monk yet!) was played by David Wenham, you kids might remember him from such movies as Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers or Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. . he played the very important Faramir! ^_^ My buddy and I both recognized him immediately, and turned to each other, "Dude, it's Faramir!" . . it was pretty funny. . :D
-
Charles, now, by 'people' do you mean 'monkeys?' Because monkeys look pretty funny riding little bicycles. . rofls~ I'm sure I will see tons of 10-15 yr olds buying the game, looking for blood and violence, picking up hookers then beating them, and stealing cars and shooting people. . Whatever though. Everyone has their own taste in games, it would just be nice if they had GOOD taste.
-
how you can now use bicycles
Good. . because after playing the easily boring games of GTA and GTA Vice City, I was like. . "Man, I sure hope the next one is going to have bicycles!!" Well, another GTA game that I will pick up from a friend, race around a few cars, punch in cheat codes to get guns and see how long I can kill people before I am taken out, then proceed to systematically grind the game into a fine powder which I poor into people's gas tanks. . Sorry, did this reply seem ill?

Woah. . way too overwhelmed with E3 this year. . didn't think about posting any of my thoughts. Thanks for the vid Semjaza. . this game looks really incredible. I love the beauty of this game already, and it seems to be a lot of puzzles, outside of the normal dungeon puzzles, to get around in the world. . Definitely going to pick this one up. Nintendo just keeps on delivering! Especially with Zelda!! =P

You guys REALLY need to stop expecting so much from action movies. . if you want something really artsy or dead on accurate, I think you are looking in the wrong place. . If you want to have some fun, go into the movie expecting to just have fun with it! I dont really want to get into any fight here, but to say that perhaps you guys set yourselves up for a fall? Whatever, each person is entitled to their own opinion. I really enjoyed the movie. . on a 10pt scale, I give it a 9 out of 10. I had read many reviews prior to watching this movie, so I think I wasn't really expecting it to be any good. I was pleasantly surprised with how good it turned out. I really enjoyed the originality of the movie, mixing so many characters into a pretty good storyline. I guess I expected it to be Hugh Jackman vs. everyone. . but was happy that it was much more diverse then that. I was a little dissapointed in the lack of skill with Kate Beckinsale, but then again, she is just a human versus much stronger monsters. . The acting could have been a little better, but I didn't even really notice it. I of course enjoyed the special effects. I also liked 'Faramir' (from Lord of the Rings) as the Friar, and his comic relief served pretty well to pass some of the slower moments. I also liked 'Benny' (from Mummy) as Igor. . he was also a nice comic pace for the evil side of the movie. I also enjoyed the characters of Dracula and Frankenstien. . both really seemed to just BE their characters, and I even sympathized a little bit with both, at different times. I of course loved how the Werewolf changed his shape, and was really surprised at Mr. Hyde's character, I didn't even expect him, but it of course made sense that he would be in there. I won't go on, for fear of spoiling anything. . just to further state how much I enjoyed this movie! ^_^

I am personally looking forward to HALO 2 . . No, I am not a huge fan of the single player game, though I am hoping for some real intense levels. I am instead looking for more multi-player levels. . The only reason why I enjoy Halo right now is the fact that I can get a bunch of friends together and just go crazy. . Other then that, I suppose that I am looking forward to the single-player modes of Half-Life 2 and Doom 3. . but it's not really that important, since I don't know when I will have A) a computer that can run either, or B) enough time to play Doom 3 on X-Box. . *shrug* Whatever though, lol.
-
I am intregued by the premise of the game. The ideas that they are planning seem pretty original for a game. . but who knows. My biggest problem comes from the fact that they are using Goldeneye's name. In argueably one of the best multiplayer FPS games, I just feel that they are giong to ruin the name of it by EA getting it's hands on it. Perhaps that is rather bold of me to say, since I have not even played a sampling of it. . But from all of their other 007 games, I am not really holding my breath on it.
-
This will definitely be a movie that I watch once it comes to video, unless I decide to take some girlfriend to it to make her say, "Awwwwwwwww, tiger cubs. . " (What were you thinking. . perv!) This movie will be pretty good, I will be especially interested on how they interact the tigers with the humans. Like Charles said, this isn't going to be your typical movie with a cat and dog, or whatever. These are a little bit more dangerous animals, and not really the easiest to train. Who knows, perhaps they borrowed these tigers (and cubs) from Sigfried and Roy? . . *shrug* Anyways, I saw this preview a few weeks ago, on Quicktime, so I figured I would post my input here, lol.

I watch the show, but not because it's the best thing out there. I record the whole Thursday night run. . I don't remember what other shows they had on it before, but lately, I was really interested in watching Apprentice. Also, I really enjoy ER. . sure, it's old and a lot of the main characters are gone, but it's still very good in my opinion. As for Friends, the show is a decent sitcom for me. I watch it, and usually get kicks out of it, but it's strangely only from one person, Matthew Perry. He is one of the funniest people on the show, even though his character is just as overdone as everyone else's. . I find myself thinking that I am going to miss the show, but at the same time, I have gotten a little tired of the writing in it. It just seems a little stale to me now. Don't get me wrong. . congrats for all that they have accomplished, and how long they have lasted, but I just don't think that I am really going to miss it THAT much. If anything, it's another show that I won't be able to watch anymore that I usually record. . lol. Oh well, I still have my Scrubs. . one of the better sitcoms out right now. ^_^ Sorry if this post wasn't the most upbeat for friends =P

You know. . I wasn't going to compare Christina with Brittany. . but I would choose Christina anyday. To be honest, I thought she lost a lot of credit in her 'Dirty' video. . but then I saw her 'Beautiful' video and didn't even know that was her. . it shocked me! I have a little more respect for people trying to sell music when they are dressed when they do it. .
-
I have to agree with what some of you have already said. . Sure, she has a good body, though, I am sure she pays a lot to have trainers come and MAKE her work out, and a nutritionalist to MAKE her eat the right food. . As for her voice? I have never thought it sounded good, and always guessed that she has had a lot of work done to her albums. I don't listen to her music so I really can't say anything more then that. As for her marketability, there is like 3 out of ever 4 guys that I have talked to that I know of that want to 'do her' or that think 'man, she's so fine!' . . I am just not one of them. I don't listen to her music, I probably will do my best never to. I hear her music on at work from time to time, but I just ignore it, or walk away. . whatever. I sometimes hear music that I hate, then listen to it a few more times and really like it, I just don't see me thinking that same thoughts with Brittany Spears' music. . something about her voice really annoys me. As to wether she is a slut or not? . . no comment on that. Who am I to judge people? The only name calling I do is either when I am driving or if I am just kidding around with people. lol
