1.
Chapter 233! I'll just spoiler-tag this whole thing.
Maybe I am going insane, but I detected some shounen-ai undertones in that last chapter. Nothing big, of course, and that's not what made that chapter so great, but still. When I saw that giant ball of "ceramic" (hey, it looked ceramic : / ) chakra, I actually said, "Holy ****!" I told any one who commented on the length of the battle to me that I knew Kishimoto would end it on a very emotional, touching note, without dragging the battle on into the horizon. I guess Sasuke was a lost cause, after all. Maybe he'll turn to unrestrained, arbitrary evil like his brother? ^__^
Oh. Sorry for double-posting. I didn't realize I was doing it at the time. The thread needed revival, anyway, methinks.
Spoilers up ahead, do not read if you are not up to date with the manga
Sasuke decided he will try to get the Mangekyou Sharingan a different way than his brother, his fight with Naruto made him realise this and in the end he just couldn't kill Naruto, so the end of that arc was Sasuke walking somewhere to try and find how to get the Mangekyou Sharingan all on his own
2. I have to agree on the bad AI your teammates have, like when they repeatedly use elemental attacks or spells which the enemy ABSORBS and gains hp from, or when they just don't do anything, and just stand in a corner during the battle My biggest gripe about SO3 though are the dungeons, it seems as though they were purposely created as to greatly anger the player, I mean too many times I end up just running around in circles because I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to be doing, and after doing this for a few hours it turns out to be something stupid, like pulling a lever which you could barely even see, and was only pulled because you got so frustrated you ended up just pressing X on everything hoping something will happen Apart from that though, it's a good game, but not quite as good as the high recommendations its received
 3. Heihachi is still alive, lol, though the story makes it that he is dead, it's been leaked from Namco that Heihachi is in fact still alive http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/images/news/2004-08-30/notdead.jpg The arcade release date of Tekken 5 is October/Nobember of this year, PS2 is going to be released roughly around summer 2005 In regards to Charles comments I kinda agree with you there, even Namco thenselves have admitted that they messed up with Tekken 4, it's still a great game, but we all expected more from it after what Namco showed us what they can do with Tekken 3, Tekken Tag was just a side project for Namco (its still insanely popular though, 2nd best Tekken game) Many people, even the hardcore guys like myself, grew bored of Tekken 4 after 6-12 months, it just stopped being fun, but we still played and practiced and continued to get better because it was the newest Tekken out, but we all still religiously played Tekken Tag (I play both VF4:E and TTT, they are both equal in my opinion) It's like all anyone did with T4 was "play it for business" and T3/TTT became "business and fun!" kinda like with VF4:E Worry not though people, after giving T5 an extensive playtest, you will not be disappointed, expect T5 and VF4: Final Tuned to lock horns with each other to become the no.1 fighter, and it ain't gonna be easy for either of em, hehe ^_^
 4. These were the playable characters (and will become the standard characters when released) Jin Kazama Lee Chaolan Julia Chang Yoshimitsu Bryan Fury Lei Wulong Nina Williams Steve Fox Kazuya Mishima Ling Xiaoyu Asuka Kazama Feng Wei Christie Montiero Paul Phoenix Jack-5 Craig Marduk Marshall Law Hwoarang King the 2nd Raven So far the confirmed time released characters are Bruce Irvin Anna Williams Kuma/Panda Namco has hinted that a "sumo" style character will be in the lineup as well, Ganryu to return perhaps? In any case, at least 10 time released characters will be in T5 I'm very upset with what they did to Paul too, in T4 I was the best T4 Paul in the whole of Europe and to see this happen to him is ridiculous, even the demolition man sucks in T5, it's become like TTT where if you block the kick Paul is stunned enough for you to punish him Ah well, in any case Feng Wei shall become my new tournament character in T5, I loved using that guy in the beta test! Edit-Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention, on T5 arcades there will be PS2 Pad Ports, so you will be able to bring your PS2 joypads or joysticks and just plug them into the T5 cabinet! This way even if you can't play on stick on or machines sticks are bad, you simply use your own tools to play under any circumstance
 5. I just got back from my trip to the US just over a week ago, I really did enjoy my time over there, not only did I do very well on Tekken 4 and Tekken Tag at the Evolution 2004 tournament, I also managed to play test the beta version of Tekken 5! Here's me playing (red hair guy) :) http://photobucket.com/albums/0803/Buttermaker/veggy/?action=view¤t=evo09.jpg http://photobucket.com/albums/0803/Buttermaker/veggy/?action=view¤t=evo02.jpg The game is simply amazing, I believe it will become the best Tekken game to date, and will give Virtua Fighter 4:Final Tuned a serious run for it's money from the fighting games aspect of it. Best of all it was the beta version, hopefully the final version will not get worse (as it did with Tekken 4) Just some quick FYI before I tell you guys about the playtest There will be 20 selectable characters, and at least a further 10 secret time released characters It has gone back to it's old T3 roots, back is the insanely fun gameplay and high damage, fast paced rounds Card system which allows you to purchase a "card" (like a memory card) which you insert into the arcade cabinet, with this you can customise your favourite character, their costumes, hair, footwear, add-on's, etc. it's a really cool step in the tekken series and has been seen in VF4Evo Now before the playtest, here's a random (Sephy in the US) image http://photobucket.com/albums/0803/Buttermaker/veggy/?action=view¤t=evo06.jpg Stages-absolutely beautiful, especially the dragon stage, there are stages with walls and endless floor stages (like T3/TTT), damage is caused to the background and ground (it looks stupid sometimes though) Characters-at the time of playing, the game seemed balanced, there were only 3 characters who did not seem as good as the rest (namely paul, xiaoyu, and hwoarang) everyone does half bar damage and can compete....for now Sidewalking (like in T4) is still in the game but is not as good anymore, Side Step has become good like T3, you will be sidestepping more than you will be sidewalking Low parrying is universal, everyone can low parry by doing d, d/f Many characters still have their movement, some have new movement, King has a new step called "Jaguar Step", Back Dash is back in T5 but covers less range, the range of a forward dash has been increased, Lei has his HaHa step back, but it cover's less distance and is harder to execute than before The new characters-I absolutely fell in love with Feng Wei (the monk guy), since they made paul rubbish in T5 so it looks like Feng will be my new characters, he has 2 stances (we couldn't figure out a use for one of them, needs to be further playtested when the game is released) and is kinda similar to paul too with the killer one time damage, except he has other assets too Raven was.....interesting, he didn't seem like a tekken character at all, but he seemed very strong, many mid and low moves, even from backturned! He has a teleport type move where he disappears after you try to hit him and hits you back Asuka is very similar to Jun from T2/TTT, with more moves of course, I didn't play her so I can't tell you much about her, but from what I saw, she seemed strong, she even has a throw which is a juggle starter! Throws-throws have been changed in T5, well, the throw breaks anyway, in previous tekkens when you broke your opponents throws you just push them away and that was it, in this however, depending on which throw you break you end up in a different position, for example, with one throw we discovered that if you break it you will end up BEHIND your opponent! Again, this is very virtua fighter I'll post some more stuff later, if you guys wanna ask me anymore stuff then feel free to do so! ^_^ A farewell pic http://photobucket.com/albums/0803/Buttermaker/veggy/?action=view¤t=evo12.jpg Merged your two Tekken 5 threads. - Desbreko
 6. My parent's did have a problem with it, but I'm going back 9-10 years here (that just made me feel old  They would keep calling anime "cartoons", and say stuff like "how can you still watch cartoons, act like a grown up, etc" and I'd have to keep listening to it at least once a week Fortunately I don't have to hear that anymore
 7. GunGrave
Most of the death's in GunGrave were sad because when they happened you kinda cared for the character's that died, knew some of their past, etc, but most noteable is the ending to GunGrave, really sad when Brandon and Harry kill each other
DragonBall Z
Both of Vegita's death's were sad, the first time he dies you learn of the past and can understand why Vegita came to be as he is. The second time he died it was just plain sad because he was sacraficing himself to saved the people he cared for
Naruto
The Haku/Zabuza death scene was sad because of the way the whole thing was done and presented, and the snow effects at the end were a very nice touch
Rurouni Kenshin
The whole ending to Kenshin was very sad, having him die of lepresy in his wife's arms in a field full of cherry blossoms, that's one of my favourite death scene's

 8.
ive only read one volume on this but it is one of my favorites so far. i like zoro the most, but the chef guy is funny too, sanji right? he gets into some funny stuff. i dont like this 4kids thing either. it takes away the soul of it. if they are going to edit it down they are going to take out alot of the best stuff.
How would you even know anything about Sanji if you've only read Volume 1? I'm currently on Volume 34 of the Manga and I'm still loving this series, it's just too awesome!
 9. I have not watched the anime but I have read a lot of the manga, currently on Volume 16 To be honest though, I find the series to be pretty boring, there are some cool elements and a few interesting characters, but most of the stuff in the series have already been done in other series, and better too Gon has got to be one of the most boring main characters I have ever seen, though I thought Hisoka and Kurapika were pretty cool Overall, Hunter X Hunter is at the bottom of my "to read" list of mangas, I'm currently enjoying better titles such as Gantz, One Piece, Hajime No Ippo, Bowling King, and Midori No Hibi
 10. Behold, a pic of the 3 new characters in T5 http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/news/viewer.php?file=2004-05-10/new_characters.jpg From left to right their names are Asuka Kazama, Feng Wei, and Raven Here is a better shot of Asuka Kazama http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/news/viewer.php?file=2004-05-10/new_female.jpg And one of Raven http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/news/viewer.php?file=2004-05-10/new_male.jpg Here is some of the info from TZ It appears somebody on the construction crews at E3 snapped some picture of the Namco booth, revealing a couple of the new characters in Tekken 5. We put tensaikun to work and via his contacts in Japan who are apparently close to a source in Namco Japan we have learned the names of the new characters are (left to right in the image) Asuka Kazama, Feng Wei and Raven. Aside from the new characters names we also learned Tekken 5 will introduce move buffering for the first time in the series. Move buffering is a technique that allows you to input commands during recovery frames of previous moves. Now before you get all worked up over this, no doubt you can think of some broken situations with this feature, just realize this is far from revolutionary and has been a widely used technique and 2D and other 3D games for years without breaking the game. This surely will be an interesting development and add to the learning curve of Tekken 5, so let?s not jump to conclusions before actually seeing it. I will post more pics and info in the next day or two as the game is finally unveiled More T5 goodness ^_^ http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/news/viewer.php?file=2004-05-11/promo_panel.jpg http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/news/viewer.php?file=2004-05-11/burning_stage.jpg http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/news/viewer.php?file=2004-05-11/falls_stage.jpg http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/news/viewer.php?file=2004-05-11/raven_intro.jpg http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/news/viewer.php?file=2004-05-11/raven_stance.jpg Game isn't playable, just a trailor which I will post soon, here's some more info about the characters from TZ Where to begin? how about the new characters? The trailer revealed three new characters but only two are completely new styles, Asuka Kazama is Jun re-incarnated with moves such as White Heron (1+4,2), Mist Palm (1+2) and Can Can Kicks (d+3+4). One of her outfits is a consists of a blue top and shorts with elbow and shin pads, the second outfit is a traditional black and white Aikido outfit. A completely new character is Raven, his style is not obvious at first but his pre-fight animation and moves resembling Kunimitsu Manji Rana (f+1+4) and Ninja Jewel (BT 3) leads us to believe he uses Ninjitsu. The best way to describe Raven?s look is Wesley Snipes in Blade but with bleached hair. The third new character is Feng Wei, a Kung-Fu style monk sporting a colorful outfit and long pony tail. Some of his moves can be best compared to Gato's Shin-Ga and Fuu-Ga (Mark of the Wolves) and he also has a Paul like Iron Mountain (d+1+2). Other characters confirmed at this point, either seen in the trailer or screen shots, are Jin Kazama, Lee Chaolan, Ling Xiaoyu, Bryan Fury, Nina Williams, Paul Phoenix, Yoshimitsu, Steve Fox, Craig Marduk, Christie Monteiro, Hwoarang, Kazuya Mishima, King, Marshall Law, Kuma, Julia Chang and Lei Wulong. Also returning to action is a Jack. Both outfits, green army attire with mohawk and black armor with red trim, suggest this is a new generation Jack so we'll dub him Jack-3 for the time being. An army of Jacks is also featured in the game intro. All the outfits we saw so far are going back the old roots, way to go Namco! Let?s face it the Tekken 4 outfits weren?t all that. The outfits have been redesigned of course, they just feel very familiar. We only saw the majority of the characters in one outfit, below is a list of all the outfits known so far except for those mentioned already. Kazuya Mishima: purple pimp suit and white pants with new print Lee Chaolan: black tuxedo and blue shirt with white stallion Yoshimitsu: old school green sword style? he looks super buffed by the way Jin Kazama: shirtless black and white pants... that should make a lot of fans happy Ling Xiaoyu: original blue outfit style but the shirt is pink, she looks also more mature this time around Bryan Fury: dark blue pants and ammo belt Nina Williams: cross between her latest blue attire and classic purple outfit Paul Phoenix: orginal red judo gi and scorpion tattoo Steve Fox: boxer outfit with short trunks this time Craig Marduk: both outfit are pretty much the same, defferent print on the lime green pants Christie Monteiro: the shiny pants outfit, hair up in a pony tail King: classic purple spandex Marshall Law: black pants but with a nice dragon print on the side Julia Chang: indian attire with denim skirt Hwoarang: traditional blue, red and white taekwondo attire Lei Wulong: short silk blue kimono and black pants All the game play footage in the trailer uses quick short transitions between moves so it?s rather hard to notice any new moves at this point, but one definitely catches the eye. Craig seems to have a Giant Swing type air throw that can be executed as part of a combo, it just looks wicked! Marshall finally got a flying kick and Lee links the Acid Rain (f+3:3:3) just frame into Violet Screw kick (SSL+4). The official story is unknown at this time. But from the intro CG scenes included in the E3 Tekken 5 trailer we can assume it takes place immediately after Tekken 4. Heihachi Mishima and Kazuya Mishima are in the Honmaru Dojo, with feathers still drifting down from the ceiling (Jin Kazama's Tekken 4 Ending). An army of Jack robots invades the property, Kazuya seems to escape during the ensuing battle but Heihachi is not so lucky. The Jack robots capture Heihachi and initiate a self destruct sequence, after the massive explosion we see Raven reporting back to his superiors... "Heihachi Mishima.... is dead!". Also seen in what we assume will end up being the arcade intro CG movie for Tekken 5 are two short scenes with the other new characters. The Asuka cut is pretty non descriptive as to her motives for entering the tournament but Feng Wei is clearly out for revenge after one of the monks, perhaps his master, seems to have been killed in the monastery. The E3 Tekken 4 trailer is roughly 3:45 minutes long and the presentation after the initial CG intro is split up in 5 segments, first introducing the new cast members with their names, CG renders followed by a sampling of their moves. The second segment is labeled ?Over The Top Action?, showing some of the returning characters in action on various stages and more of the same in the next segment labeled ?Huge Character Selection?. Assuming Namco sticks to the tradition of 8 to 10 time release characters, who would definitely not be revealed at this point, Tekken 5 could get near the 30 character mark. Huge indeed! The fourth segment ?New Graphics Engine? shows various stages without any fighters present while the camera pans and zooms. The stages shown so far all have more of a fantasy feel rather than the realistic modern environments of Tekken 4. They include a cliff near a waterfall, the destroyed Mishima Castle engulfed in flames, a rooftop at sunset (slight similarity to Soul Calibur clock stage), a flower field with ruins in the background, a stage inside these ruins from the looks of it, a fight pit, a stage with a large stone dragon (perhaps inside Feng's monastery) and a renaissance city themed stage. Towards the end of the trailer there is a short clip of Kuma dancing on an arctic ice field amongst some penguins, this could be another stage as well? going back to the original Tekken roots! The final part of the trailer, titled ?Revolutionary Graphics?, shows various characters standing still while the camera pans around. The trailer closes out with the announcement of the Tekken 5 arcade release in 2004, the consumer release in 2005 but no actual dates mentioned and the URL of the Tekken 10th anniversary site, called Tekken Official. I don't know how the hell Namco kept all this stuff secret for so long  EDIT: Just merged your posts, Sephy. - James
 11. FF is not an "anime" game When people talk about "Anime" games, they tend to base it off the Anime, like the DBZ games for example, those are Anime games In my personal experience, games spawned from the anime usually are mediocre at best, take the DBZ games for example, I hate all of them, even Boudakai 2 (which many people hail, and this is coming from a beat em up fanatic) I have not played the .hack// games yet, though I am looking forward to it The YGO card games on the GBA are ok if you have someone to play against, it gets boring if you just repeatedly play against the CPU Gungrave is pretty good but is extremely short, you can complete it within an hour, looking forward to the second one though Victory boxers, based on my favourite anime of all time, Hajime No Ippo, is absolutely rubbish There are many more games for me to list, but I have nothing good to say for the majority of them
 12. When I'm down I just watch funny shows or funny anime, anything funny to cheer me up Funny shows would include The Chappelle Show and Bo Selecta Funny anime would include Love Hina and Great Teacher Onizuka To be honest though, most of the time it's best to just hang out with your friends, they tend to cheer you up the best
 13. The name Sephiroth was not my original Username, I first joined under the name Safer Sephiroth since the name Sephiroth was taken Sephiroth is the bad guy in the game, Final Fantasy 7 Safer Sephiroth is his ultimate form Anyway, when the boards went down due to certain reasons, everyone had to register again, and since I was part of the OB staff back then I got to make my name earlier than anyone else ;) Thus the name Sephiroth was chosen (the original Sephiroth had 0 posts :-/ )
 14.
Good observaton Hitokiri Zero. But anyways, I just recently downloaded some of the manga (up to chapter 30, I think) and downloaded some of the fansubbed FMA episodes. All I don't understand is that,
why would Ed take part in a taboo ritual ,where he had to sacrifice half of his own body, and the intirity of his brothers body, just to revieve his dead mother.
I am currently getting interested in the manga, more so than I am the anime, it is simply amazing! Thank you for your time, and Dzey Jenn. :D Even though what you described happened in the first episode, I added spoiler tags to be on the safe side. -Solo

What happened was the brothers did not obey the law of conservation "To gain something you need something of equal value" They did not know this when they tried to revive their mother, they tried to gain something (their mother) and did give something of equal value That's why Ed lost his arm and leg and Alphonse lost his body
15. I really like GunGrave, strong story, good character development, and nice artwork Though it is based on the game, there's quite a few things different from the game, the ending to the anime is different, for a start (and MUCH better might I add) Episode 26, which is the final episode of GG, was aired last night in Japan, and it has a sad (but good) ending, a nice way to finish off the series
Oh yeah, and by the way Gendou, Brandon (or Grave) never betrays Harry, Harry betrays Millennion, and Brandon was just doing his job, as there is one iron rule of Millennion
I'm just sad it's all over now :( Ah well, time to start watching Tenjou Tengu
 16. D&R isn't supposed to be a movie, EoE is the movie, D&R got classed as a movie because of ADV (or was it Manga? Can't remember) First and foremost, D&R is bought because of its features on the disc, one half of EoE was thrown in there just for the hell of it, remember, in Japan D&R was released AFTER EoE
 17. Personally I don't agree with a live action Eva movie at all, not only would it be hard to pull off, just how exactly WILL they pull it off in 90-120mins? The story is just simply too deep unless they turn it into a Godzilla movie or something with big robots just beating the crap out of each other for some reason. Unless of course they are working on a trilogy which will be at least 2 hours each, that's the only way I can see it work, and I don't think it will do well either, nor will it project much cash at the box office.
 18. I would strongly recommend Hajime No Ippo as it has a strong blend of action/comedy/character development but unfortunately its not out in the states yet, not for a few more months I think, it will be released under the name Fighting Spirit, which has nothing to do with what the real title is called (The Next Step) but.....whatever. For comedy I recommend Ranma 1/2 or Love Hina For action I recommend Rurouni Kenshin and maybe Hellsing It really does depend on what type of anime you are looking for, just saying you like funny anime and action with blood doesn't really help. Like if you had said "I'm looking for an anime with a lot of action, set in medievil times-ish with swords, etc." then I would have instantly recommended Berserk
 19. *Sephiroth predicts that this thread will turn into a religious debate -_- * Regarding the topic at hand, who know's what will happen after you die, maybe there's an after life, maybe reincarnation, maybe it's just simply the end, who knows really? Which is why it's best to live your life to the fullest with the time that is given to you, and worry about what happens after death when the time comes.
 20. I have not had a dream in a very long time now that I think about it, I wonder why.... In my last dream I dreamt that I was moving around some furniture......the next day it actually happened!
 21. At home-I'm as much myself as I could be I guess :wigout: With friends-Twisted sense of humour, but will always help a friend in need Boxing-Transform into the maddog killer type with a good heart lol Online-Hmm, I just noticed I have a few personalities online, lol, in places like OB and online games I guess I could be called Mr Nice Guy. However on Tekken sites I tend to act like an asshole with a twisted sense of humour (it's ok though because they know me in real life lol) Tekken Tournaments-The funny nutcase, always making jokes even when I'm kicking your ***, I tend to "dress" up in tournaments, last time I went there as a terrorist with a ski mask over my head and stuff lol, in the next tournament in April I'm going there as a pimp :mrt:
 22. List of Roomies/Non Roomies Yay Takamura from Hajime No Ippo, the guy is the funniest anime character I have ever seen! Not only that but he's a really great boxer so he could teach me some boxing tips too lol Kakeshi from Naruto, cool, funny, and I'd like to take a glimpse at that book he's always reading Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo, she just seem's like she would be a hoot to be roomies with Nay Arucard from Hellsing, as much as I like him, he would probably suck my blood :( Kuno from Ranma 1/2, that hairdo ain't doing anything for him, and he'd probably try to hit on any girl that step's into the house Asuka from Evangelion, her dub voice is just too goddamn irritating
 23. 1. Regardless of whether or not you download anime, do you believe that doing so is wrong? Well yeah, I do think it's wrong, but I live in the UK, and regarding obtaining anime it's a pretty poor place to be, there are some decent dvd's yes but most aren't released here. Buying dvd's from Japan is also way to expensive, I was interested in buying Hajime No Ippo dvd's after downloading and watching the show's and I was disgusted with the price..... £35 per dvd (around $55-$60) 3 episodes per dvd, 76 episodes in the series, 1 movie, 1 ova (so far) now tell me how many UK'ers can afford to but the series? I'm just thankful that Pioneer (I think it's Pioneer) have bought the rights to it and are releasing the dvd's in the US (under the name "Fighting Spirit" which isn't what Hajime No Ippo stands for (The Next Step) but.....whatever) which means I can at least buy the dvd's at a decent price (around £15-£20 per dvd) which as you can see is far more preferable Downloading is still wrong though, licensed or unlicensed but people still do it, including myself 2. Do you think that you'd buy more DVDs if you didn't download any shows? I buy dvd's anyway, not downloading show's wouldn't really make a difference 3. Do foreign (not Japanese) anime companies pay attention to the popularity of various fansubbed series? I don't think so, otherwise they would have released more products lol
 24. Heh, I love TTT/T4 and am a very well known Tekken player (search for me ;) ) though I prefer TTT's gameplay overall, T4 is my main game Main reason is the level of play for TTT is too far ahead for me to catch up with anytime soon (though I still play well vs them), whereas with T4 my level of play exceeds the UK's current T4 level of play so it's all good! ^_^ In TTT my main Team is Ogre/True Ogre but I am also very adept at using Mishima's, A.King/Bruce, A.King/Ogre, Lei/Bryan, GunJack/Bryan, Michelle/Julia and some others I have many TTT/T4 match video's of myself playing many European players if anyone is interested in watching then send me a PM and I'll see what I can do
 25. Onizuka is my hero! *German Suplexe's Principle* I need to rewatch it again, it's been almost a year since I watched it
