2. I think Matt was originally designed as a character but never new where to put him, so they just randomly threw him in the story as Mello's friend. I think he's from Wammy's house 2 and like L's sweet tooth, Mello's crave for chocolate and Near playing with his hair, I think I remember reading somewhere that Matt's addictions were cigarettes (obviously) and playing video games. Though I was kind of mad at how
he was killed
. I mean, 1st of all unless your part of a law enforcement "group" let's say, you can't carry guns in Japan, so for bodyguards to have guns is weird. And even if being a bodyguard is sufficient enough to carry guns, how can you just
shoot a person that's under suspicion of a kidnapping even when he admits to it, just killing him right then and there mid-sentence seems a little extreme just because he "defied Kira"
3.
I kind of got use to any of the poor humor as far as things like nose bleeds and falling over when an attractive female character presents themselves. That isn't what bothers me the most, actually I'm fine with that. The main thing that bothers me, and it's in just about every one of my favorite Anime, is the fact that characters like Sesshoumaru, or Legato, look way cooler, act way cooler, and are much more badass than the main character, and they always lose when they battle the main character and sometimes die. It's okay though, someday I'll just have to create my own Manga, and I'll make the main character like Sesshoumaru.
You are so right my friend, I look forward to reading your manga.
  4. I got to say, 1 of my favorite things about the show is how they act like "commoner" stuff is something you foreign or you learned on the discovery channel. Tamaki: "I know it's small men but sit down while holding your knees close to your chest, commoners specially developed this technique to conserve space." This show is hilarious. Also, a question, how different is the manga from the anime? Does it go on? Does it cover something the anime doesn't? Anything like that?
  5. My recommendations for you judging your taste in anime based on what you posted, Outlaw Star Death Note Gungrave Rurouni Kenshin Hellsing I recommended Hellsing, Gungrave and Outlaw Star because you posted that you have watched Trigun and Cowboy Bebop, so I'm assuming that you like "gun action" anime. The reason for recommending Death Note is because you watched Fullmetal Alchemist, and though Death Note isn't at all an action anime, the suspense even surpasses that of FMA, at least in my opinion. I don't know if you're at all into sword fighting/samurai anime, but if you are Rurouni Kenshin is a great start for those types of shows, there is more but that's probably 1 of the best for me to recommend to you. I'm not really sure if any of the other anime you posted is a fighting/martial arts anime, but if they are and you do like those kinds of shows I strongly recommend the following, Kenichi, History's strongest Disciple Hajime No Ippo Hope I was of help at all.
  6. You know, I was really into this anime until
Kamina died
then I just couldn't get back into it, I grinded through like 3 more episodes and then I just stopped. Can someone give me the faith to watch this again? Does it get better?
  7. Quick recommendation, I could probably give you 100 cause it seems you and I like the same type of anime. I've been watching Death Note, I'm like 10 episodes in and I'm not going to lie, it's pretty darn addicting, but it's pretty disturbing in a weird way. I'll drop by for more recommendation a little later.

    Digimon

I never watched any of them except Adventures, I used to watch them when I was younger, and 1 day I suddenly got the urge to watch them, so I watch adventures 1 and 2 which was like a total of 100 episodes all together. Never tried the other ones, what do you guys say? Should I watch them? They any good? Better?
  9. Yea you definitely missed it then. Watching anime is part of who you are, if you hide it from people i.e. someone asks you if you watch anime and you deny it you're putting up a front because you are ashamed. I don't know about where you are from but I don't know too many people that like fake people so.........whatever, do what you gotta do to be cool.
  10.
And here I thought it was because people (some people) just don't want folks to know they like anime. So what type of personality is being hid in the first place? You say that as if watching anime defines a persons personality. You might want to reword that.
"Pictures a gang banger who watches anime"
"Coughs" [/randomness]
You completely missed the point. As I said in my 1st post, I never hide the fact I watch anime and no one is yet to say anything to me and again, partly because they don't got the cajones to.
  11. Hiding it from people is hiding your personality, out of all the friends I have few watch anime. So your theory is incorrect. If you hide it, it's because you are ashamed and that's what makes people not like you, the fact that you are putting up an act. The don't ask don't tell is respectable though.
  12. Valentine's day? pffffffffff......as if having a girlfriend isn't enough of a waste of time and money. Valentine's day is a marketing scam, there are people who literary go out for like 2 days during that period. In my opinion relationships are dumb, waste of time and money unless you're getting action, then you can't complain. I say this and yet, I've had 3 girlfriends just in 08. Sad.
  13. Lol I read some funny things.... anyways, most people don't know I like anime, I don't hide it but I don't go around telling everyone, as a matter of fact it depends on people, 1 of my girlfriends thought it was attractive that I was "unique" not only because I watched anime but that was 1 of the things, another girlfriend thought it was totally weird and didn't want to talk about it. The only person that "guessed" that I watch anime is 1 of my good friend's girlfriends, apparently my "funny faces" make it seem like I'm an anime character, so she assumed I liked anime. I don't understand why people would say anime is a waste of life, most people watch t.v., some people may watch Real World, some people may watch sports, some people may watch the animal channel, whatever, we can't all like the same kind of food, music, shows, sports and everything, there wouldn't be such a thing as individuality. If you eat, breathe and sleep anime then that's called no life, but then again if you do that with what ever the hell you watch it could be said for that 2. Most people I know don't have the balls to call me a loser or a dork, and even if they did I'd laugh in their face, the kids that drink, smoke weed and watch MTV all day are losers in my eyes, so what's a loser anyway? los⋅er –noun 1. a person, team, nation, etc., that loses: The visiting team was the loser in the series. 2. Informal. a. a person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor or, esp., a felony: a two-time loser. b. a person who has failed at a particular activity: a loser at marriage. c. someone or something that is marked by consistently or thoroughly bad quality, performance, etc.: Don't bother to see that film, it's a real loser. 3. Slang. a misfit, esp. someone who has never or seldom been successful at a job, personal relationship, etc. Would you look at that, those amazingly cool people that go get drunk off their *** and get convicted of crimes are called two-time losers, yet it says nothing about watching anime. I guess in a few words I'm trying to say that if you're not skipping more important things like work or school work it doesn't make you not have a life. You can go to school all week, work a few days a week, go out with your friends and still have more then enough time to watch anime, trust me. I wouldn't be surprised if I watched anime the rest of my life, but 1 thing I'm sure of, it won't get in the way of my school, and definitely not my career once I start it. Japan_86 said, it can be a healthy hobby, as long as it doesn't get in the way of your responsibilities.
  14.
By the time I started watching any anime, I was already living out on my own and attending college. So the parent approve/disapprove deal never came up. And I honestly can't remember if they cared if my siblings watched stuff like that or not. I'd have to ask.
Well, that's one way to beat the system =P
