im definitely not a fan of Rap, hip-hop and pop, i like songs where the lyrics mean something, and not just "ooh baby!..", random stuff about some girls 'booty' and then some other nonsense you cnt even tell theyre saying cause theyre saying it so fast
I undoubtedly agree. If I hadn't mention before, Rap is dying. Not just the genre itself but all the other categories that fall under that: hip-hop, R & B, and traditional. Remember when words had meaning? When the pen was actually stronger than the sword? When rap didn't mean bling-bling or how many ho's you had? I can understand why most of today's people are not the fan of Rap (the genre). Especially when all you hear is WHAT? YEAH! OKAY! Personally I don't mind crunk. Every now and then people just need to cut loose and go crazy. But if you're just listening to it for the lyrics, I can easily see why people are looking down on this art. Sure the art has (and still is) corrupt, but what isn't? It wouldn't be surprising in the next 50 years, todays elevator music will be replaced with lil jon' or mike jones or whoever. Nonetheless, underground rap is blooming. Great minds are popping everywhere. Intelectually productive, thought provoking, and ingeniously composed. "Rap isn't about busting caps or f-ing ho's. It's about fluency with rhyming ingenuity"

-Senate Panel approves the immigration bill- What are your thoughts? I'm not really politically inclined but this topic was the hot thing that has been going around in my school. People, namely students, on the streets walking and protesting. I haven't really taken any much thought about it until now. So what were the sides in my point of view (excuse the lack of information): 2 Sides to the coin: 1. The immigrants are taking up the jobs that we don't. (i.e. cleaning the sewers, picking up trash on the freeway). Most citizens also house them (ugh it seems like I'm referring to the immigrants as a different species >:|) so the citizens who are found associated with the immigrants are considered felons. The other side: 2. Just because the immigrants take the dirty work, they're excluded from paying taxes? American doesn't manufacture anything, most products come from 3rd world countries, unemployed US citizens should be taking those jobs. Again, excuse the lack of information/opinions/examples on both sides. I'll see if I can get any more information on this topic. This affects everyone either directly or indirectly. So what are your thoughts on it? Were you pro or con? Why?
What is the point in living if you have no goal for eyes? The goal would be to live. I myself, am not quite impressed by that goal. Why would you want to live... just to live? Where is the point?
Goals? or destination? There's a difference here. As for myself, I set goals for something to shoot for, not always reaching it. Much like the teachings of Bruce Lee. The point to living just to live pointless? Yes and no. We, as humans, all need spice in our life. Something to zest everything. But we can always choose to live in necessity. Authors such as Annie Dillard, discuss this topic a lot. We live in choice. Never. Never. Simply living life as it is. Anyway, the one thing that I would search for would be the search for passion. Not the passion as you would find doing certain activites, but the passion for living. I would go to extremes in searching for this, for this is one of the infinite reasons to why we are alive. Why we live for the things we do. "O me! O life! of the questions of these recurring, Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill'd with the foolish, Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?) Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of objects mean, of the struggle ever renew'd, Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me, Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest intertwined, The question, O me! so sad, recurring - What good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here - that life exists and identity, That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse -O me! O life!, Walt Whitman sorry for the little literature lesson :p . Dead Poets Society rox my sox!

It's worthless and a waste of time to help this guy. I remember a while back about him running away, and it's just a fruitless battle. Every post has some other contradiction of terms on the situation, or suddenly the story changes. How can anyone take him seriously? So, go ahead, try to give him advice. We all know the best way to get "revenge" is to get the F--K over it, find someone else you can devote all your love and affection and be completely happy with. In time, the other partner will realize what a dick they were, and will try to resolve things. But I'm sure Kaise here will come back with some other lame "But this that this that".

Way to lay it on Athena. But in any case, even if it was just a "lame" excuse for getting attention, I can't help but.. well, help. My ears, or in this case eyes, are always open for people to confide in. In my opinion, the world do a whole lot better if people were willing to give a helping hand whether it is need or not. I'm not disagreeing with you in any way, I feel the same as you. But. The way I was brought up and the teachings I've learned, I can't help but pity Kaise. "People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway."

Perhaps this is asked before, perhaps not. In either case, it should be interesting. What is your all time favorite food/meal? :animesmil What makes it your favorite? :animesmil Where do you normally go to get it? :animesmil When's the first time you've had it? :animesmil Personally, my all time favorite would be Fried rice w/ orange chicken! It makes me all warm inside and gives me this satisfied feeling. I don't care what I've been through aslong as I've had that meal in the end. All is right with the world :animesigh. This tops all other food (including Italian food sadly) because it's sweet, it's sour, and it's fulfilling. Excuse me for being asian but I just love fried rice. You have about almost every category in the food pyramid for the fried rice alone. You have peas, you have carrots, you have diced ham (SPAM owns), you have rice (duh), and to top it all off, it's fried! And I just simple ADORE chicken. Stereotypes say that african-americans have a special bond with chicken, well so have I.. so have I. Normally the place I would go to get it, would be at Panda Express. Most definitely. If not, then some other (for lack of a better word)asian place. My first experience with this would be when I was about 9. Pretty late into it yes, but it all happens to us at the right time. Anyway, enough about me. What about you? ;)

There really isn't any way to get your plans across to ruin their relationship. Not without getting in troubles with authorites mind you. Believe it or not, there are an infinite amount of people who do these unjust things. So what do I do when I've been backstabbed? I learned to move on and you should too. You should vent your anger out on something. Hobbies and such. I can't help you on getting back at him (or her for that matter) and I choose not to. I will however, give suggestions on how to deal with it. As I've stated above, take up some hobbies. When I get angry or just completely out of it, I train. I train all day. I train all night. I train until my body is completely sold out. It keeps my mind off trivial matters and I benefit something for it. It's a win/win situation. Take you anger/hatred out on some games. Own a couple of people. Get some headshots. Some people find it easier to deal with it by doing some work (i.e. homework, studying, chores). Even if you're still bent on revenge, please keep in mind that there are always going to be people like them. You can't live in a world without them. I hope I've helped in some way, either with the problem or with your morality. Good luck with everything

I'm going to be quite frank with you, I do not like the way you're approaching this ordeal. The way you say it, this guy took your girl but you even say that your girl also had some part in this. "she made me dump her to be with him." Sounds like they were both apart of this. oh and btw Dooxy, that is NOT the right way to do things. Impersonating another person just so you can get back at someone is not how you solve things. Anyway, Kaise. Just accept it and move on. There's no use in dwelling over something that has happened. So she dumped you, the world doesn't stop spinning for you, the sun doesn't stop rising. The way I see it, if she made you dump her, why would you want her back again if she asks. Communication and trust are key components in any relationship. I understand that you are not quite the moral person, but does that mean you'll go to extremes over one guy? Monomanicalism leads to doom, keep that in mind. You have other, greater, things to deal with. Don't let any other person get in your way. The world continues to spin, the sun continues to rise; It's time to move on.

I don't have a cell phone, but I can relate to what Ezra Black saying about how todays society has become dependent on materials rather than living life by necessity. It's sad to say, but I've forgotten how to live without a computer. Computers have been embedded into my life and now I just simply can't live without one. I completely agree with you Ezra about how we take things for granted, especially with luxury. In my opinion, our every day advances are isolating us from the world. Not literally (hopefully) but something that we can compare the world to. For me, my friends are the world to me. For others it could be something else. Almost every person I come across in my school has either an iPod or cell phone pulled out. This generation is always plugged into something. This is why I have a very deep admiration to sages/monks. They live life by necessity while we live by choice. What I mean is simply, we choose luxury over simplicity. I wished I live by their teachings, but it's something I can not do. I can't possibly imagine giving up my vices to carbonated drinks, candy, technology, etc. Someday I will find my necessities, and I will definitely not let that pass me by. Fortunately for all of us, it's not too late to rid ourselves from the corrupt mainstream of technology, we just need to be willing to. Mind you of course, this is all just an opinion not a statement :animeswea

Why do I listen to the music I do? I've no real answer to that. It's just like asking a person why do they eat the foods they do or why does a person act the way they do. We, or I, just do. I just listen to whatever appeals to me; something that tickles my soul. It can attract me lyrically or through the rhythm and beats of the music itself. I could go on and on to what I listen to and why it appeals to me. But to answer your question: Why do you listen to the music you do? I've no real answer but I listen to the music I do because that's just who I am. An individual, freely expressing myself through whatever means. :animesmil

As for myself, I enjoy most genres of music. I listen to (in alphbetical) alternative, classical rock, classical, dance, eurobeat, freestyles, hard rock, hip-hop, jazz, metal, musicals, new age, oldies, pop, R & B, rap, rock, slow jams, techno, and trance. Another list I'm sure. For my favorite band/singers of all time, it would have to be Linkin Park, Metallica, SOAD, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Gorillaz, E.S. Posthumus, Yoko Kanno, Ayumi Hamasaki, Tupac, Michael Jackson, Queen, Guns N' Roses, Josh Groban - to name but a few :animeswea . Also a side note: I don't understand why some people "hate" on other genre of music. There's no such thing as one type being more better than the other. Music, by human definition, is an art that harmonizes melody, rhythm, and timbre. It is much like poetry; The soul thrives on it. So long as the song has fluency of words, ingenuity, and enriches or soul, there's no point in fussing over trivial things as putting down other music just because of your own personal preferences. Sorry for that rant but I just wanted to get that message across :animesigh :D
