Ehhhh.... Well, I think that e-dating is okay, but is mostly fruitless. True, I know a girl back home who ended up getting married to an internet buddy, but how often does that happen? To me, it's really no different from the personals in the newspapers. As long as you're careful with the meeting process, everything would be fine.

What is your favorite part of celebrating birthdays?
Darkness replied to Cora Jane 2's topic in General Discussion
Well, who doesn't love being "King" for a day?!! My birthday was last weekend (April 5th) and I basically drank for free all weekend, and had a party at Hooter's. My gifts weren't bad either. My mother used to take me to the ihop the morning of my birthday every year (i know it doesn't sound special, but i don't see my mother very often) and she'd read me my birthday horoscope. I actually miss those days, but I'm getting old now (22) so I just think a day free of work is reward enough. -
I was just surfing for anime pics and whatever else interesting I could find. I ended up on theotaku.com and clicked on the message boards link out of curiousity. This is my first and only message board to date. (I was elated when I saw there was a place where other people liked anime as much or more than I did!)

This is my all time favorite anime so far. All of you that haven't seen it should take the time to watch. Also, the eva-r site has a continued storyline that is also good.
-
I actually am considering going to animecentral this year. I've never been to a convention though, and I don't really want to go by myself, but I have no one to go with. So who knows?

Anime What makes an Anime Charachter a Good Charachter
Darkness replied to tabmow's topic in Otaku Central
Growth. Provided the character has any personality what-so-ever, it is important to see how s/he learns from and reacts to the situations that occur. It helps you to identify with the character on a more personal level. I love it especially when they make it easier to identify with the villian. -
Eva is my favorite series, it makes you think alot! I found a site the other day (www.eva-r.com)that disregards the movie ending to nge and continues the story. If you're an eva fiend like I am, you'll enjoy it. Anywhoos, I'm glad that CN is giving a glimpse of NGE to people who haven't seen it. But I thought that they were only showing it on CN for robot week. For those who want to see it: GET THE UNCENSORED SUBTITLED VERSION PLEASE! It is 20 times better than the dub.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Darkness replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Yeah, it's 3:40pm (central time) and I'm watching NGE. I think I finally understand why everyone bashes dubbing. This is just horrible. Evangelion is my favorite anime, so I think I'm personally offended right now. Otherwise, I'm glad more people will get to see it. Is it on only for this week? -
You mean Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion, right? I have to agree. Also, getting honorable mention is....what the heck is her name?.....oh, i can't remember. The girl from X who carries the sword in her body.
-
I understand him being protective, but I don't think that it's right for him to read all your personal stuff. That's like him opening up your mail or coming into your room without knocking. Parents sometimes get all high and mighty and forget to respect you in little ways. Here's what I would do.... Stage a false Private message in which you tell someone how you feel about how he's acting, he'll read it and realize that he's been a jerk about it.
-
That's easy. I'd want to be an R&B singer or a CEO (I'm a marketing major). I promised myself that I'd write a fantasy/fiction novel when I get a little older.

Is there no one else who lives in Illinois? It's kind of strange, it's not like there are no big cities around here.

Just think of it as a means to an end. You won't be stuck there forever, unless you want to be. I believe that people have dreams and they have goals. Goals are easier to reach, but nonetheless important. And dreams are more desirable but harder to achieve. Being successful in your career is a goal and music is your dream. (Actually, your goal and dream match mine exactly!) Use your goal to support your dream and eventually you'll be happy!

Oh, well. The answer is Lucian. In the Legend of Dragoon, what is the 107th race?
-
Wrong. Lezard is not an einherjar. Try again.
-
Hugo, Chris, and Geddoe.
lulu has a meeting with the sharp end of chris's sword in the village
. In Valkyrie Profile, which Einherjar loves Lenneth?

Well, I like just leveling up, but FFX's sphere added to it. The only thing is that with Kamari (sp?), it was impossible to really make him good. True, it allowed room to customize to a point, but veering from the beaten path usually made your character worse. So I think that straight leveling up is the best

I thought that the people who are into politics would get a kick out of this e-mail I got earlier:Bush's anthem..... > > > If You're Happy And You Know It Bomb Iraq by John Robbins > > If you cannot find Osama, bomb Iraq. > If the markets are a drama, bomb Iraq. > If the terrorists are frisky, > Pakistan is looking shifty, > North Korea is too risky, > Bomb Iraq. > > If we have no allies with us, bomb Iraq. > If we think that someone's dissed us, bomb Iraq. > So to hell with the inspections, > Let's look tough for the elections, > Close your mind and take directions, > Bomb Iraq. > > It's pre-emptive non-aggression, bomb Iraq. > To prevent this mass destruction, bomb Iraq. > They've got weapons we can't see, > And that's all the proof we need, > If they're not there, they must be there, > Bomb Iraq. > > If you never were elected, bomb Iraq. > If your mood is quite dejected, bomb Iraq. > If you think Saddam's gone mad, > With the weapons that he had, > And he tried to kill your dad, > Bomb Iraq. > > If corporate fraud is growin', bomb Iraq. > If your ties to it are showin', bomb Iraq. > If your politics are sleazy, > And hiding that ain't easy, > And your manhood's getting queasy, > Bomb Iraq. > > Fall in line and follow orders, bomb Iraq. > For our might knows not our borders, bomb Iraq. > Disagree? We'll call it treason, > Let's make war not love this season, > Even if we have no reason, > Bomb Iraq. > > > > > > > > > > I think that this pretty much sums up a lot of what is going on today. Agree or Disagree? :)

I actually just think that this is all about Bush. Election time isn't all that far off and this is just a ploy to keep him in office. His father pulled the same stunt when he was president. The thing is, Bush doesn't have any strong competition for the presidential race. But, we all know that Bush has a history of bloodlust, so I was already expecting something like this from him. As for the oil stuff, the main reason prices in America are high is because of the economy in Venezuela. They provide a significant amount of our oil.

I actually borrowed this game from a friend of mine over the winter break. I love it! It's really long, so it will take awhile to beat, especially if you try to get all of the 108 stars of destiny (like I am). There are a couple of things I don't like (only being able to control three of the six characters in the battle and only being able to play out the last couple of chapters with your flame champion's story). Otherwise, this game is awesome. I'm fighting the last boss (I think)now, so I hope the ending is as good as the game.
-
At home, I don't have a computer. That is the reason I don't get to go on the boards hardly at all during the breaks. Really, it sucks. Anyhows, What's new? I see that we have some new things. I read about the banner and the color and tags, anything else I'm missing? Also, did anyone do anything exciting over the Christmas stretch? How was Christmas for everyone? New years eve? I just need to get back into the swing of things. Holla! What's up with the anime superstar?

.....but the jerk from the engines knocked her hand on to the button. Seth: (feeling the lurch) What the... (he pulls his swords as he sidesteps his opponent) Seth: Hey tin can, you're pretty slow. This will be easy. The robot advances once more, and Seth sidesteps again, but this time he takes a nice size chunk out of the robot's casing. Seth then turns up the heat. His swords glowing red hot, he buries them inside the area where the flooder brain was placed, and pushes the "tin can" off to the side. Seth: Like I said. Simple. The robot falls to the ground and starts to convulse as if it were human. Once it stops, Seth feels the power surge from the flooder. Seth: That confirms it. The last flooder has died. My individual mission is complete. Now I have to find out were this ship is about to head. Seth leaves the lab and heads back to where Rae was trying to help Siren. Rae was now just sitting outside of a locked door, knees drawn to her chest. Seth: Hey cutie, tell me what happened. Rae: She pushed me out and started some kind of lift-off sequence. I have no idea where this ship is heading, and I'm not to sure that I want to find out. Siren will go into a psycho-berserker type mode soon, and I don't know if she will attack us or not. I don't know if we will be able to even scratch her, in that state. Seth: Come with me to the lab. Maybe we can find some answers.

Elise: (smiling) You have alot of heart kid. (assuming a stance) This ought to be fun! Celest: Bring it! Elise starts to attack. The speed of the action is blinding. Celest has a counter for every move and every step, but Elise is the better attacker. After five minutes of stalemating, Elise jumps back. Elise: This is pretty pointless. Tell Seth that I love him and to teach you some better attacks. (a tear rolls down her cheek) We were never meant to be together, anyway. (She charges at Celest and leaves an opening that a blind man could hit. Celest takes advantage and sends cold steel through her body. Bleeding heavily, she looks up at Celest.) Please tell him. And with this last statement, she dies. Celest wonders why she did it. Elise was a tortured soul that was in love with a man that she could never have. Celest understood that much, because she had been the same, once ago. Why kill yourself? You're supposed to get stronger and move on. But all people aren't as strong as Celest is sometimes. She looks around at the bodies, and then looks out towards the east. Celest: I'll deliver your message.
