I'm also quite new to the whole convention scene, it's something I've always wanted to go to but never have. I am however aiming to go to NYAF in december, i live 45 minutes away from the Javits Center so I could easily commute for all three days. I'm also hoping to go to NY Comic-con next year, as I wanted to go this year but there were complications involving my friends who decided they couldn't go at the last minute. I should have just went by myself. But, this is about conventions in 07, so back to NYAF we go :). ADV, Tokyopop, Publisher's Weekly, Diamond Previews and BookExpo 2007 have already been confirmed as sponsors with more to be announced. I don't know about any specific guests or appearences yet, but there's still time. As for cosplaying, i'm trying to work out some things with me friends. We're thinking either a Bleach captain theme (in which I would go as Hitsugaya) or a Naruto theme in which i'd probably play Neji or Shika. If we decide on no theme then I may go as Squall. I am not 100% certain if i'm even going to dress up at all, but thinking about it is fun, heh. It's something I've never done so it seems like it would be bundles of fun for a couple of days, just to see what it's like.

Well, there are some familiar faces in here for me, I believe the only one of the group I don't know all that well is Shy. Looks like the competition begins anew. Guess I'll start things off, using the format of the first challenge...it would be best to treat it just like the first challenge in every aspect to ensure that it is recognized that we are taking it seriously. At least i'll go ahead and toss an intro in there since I didn't really do one for when I was brough over to the Titans (so there's nobody from my starting team currently in this one), though according to the specified guidelines of this challenge it isn't required. 1) Just call me Matt, I am 21 years of age from New York. -Despite my strengths reading out only Creative Writing and RPGs, I also believe that my strength in writing transliterates easily to my skills in speaking, and therefore I can debate as easily in writing as I can through words. Thus I feel my strengths lay with anything involving my imagination, articulation, and logical deduction and reasoning. Aside from those, based on the standards of how our strengths should be measured according to the OBS4 system, I am also essentially strong in Video Games (RPGs, FPS, and Fighting Game specialist). My weaknesses are indeed anything that involves taking physical action in art (drawing, painting, even gfx). While I have an appreciation for good art, I simply cannot make it myself no matter how hard I try. -I am a college student, majoring in Film and Media, minoring in Psychology. I typically enjoy my classes, especially if they are psych classes. I'm currently under consideration for a position as a CUNY (City University of New York) college assistant. 2) I think our first order of business should be abolishing our atrocious default team name. Just based on the members we have and whatever else, i'll throw out a couple of suggestions to get the ball rolling so we don't spend too much time on it: -The Resilience: Because in essence we are the "leftovers" of the team make-up of the ex-mercenaries. This title will represent our intent to overcome the underdog marker places on our heads and bounce back at full speed to take control. -The ACES: Little play on words, The A: American C: Canadian E: European S: Superpowers. Taken from the diversity in our member's areas of residence. Personally, i'm fond of #1. 3) We have quite a lot to choose from even with the four previously chosen colors out of the picture. My suggestion goes to good ol Teal. Why? I dunno, I think it looks cool. 4) This section has to do with the finalized flag, we'll cross this bridge when we get to it. We have a good number of exceptionally talented GFX artists amongst our ranks, so we should really come out looking good for this part. 5) Team Captain, guess we can just do this by voting. Say who you think will make a good captain, and we'll go with majority votes.
Well the results are up. I wasn't sure what to expect but what they did was not it! XD Seems like we will be on opposite teams from now on. It was fun working with all of you. ^_~ And I wanted to sneak that in here before Sandy comes along and sees their post and sets up the new threads. This is definitely going to get interesting!
Heh, on the contrary I thought the outcome was rather predictable :p. It does suck that we'll be broken up, but the fact of the matter is we're still in the game together (minus Mary though :(). So good luck to everyone once the new teams are officially formed.
-
I kinda agree with White about the challenge being shut down so quickly, but I guess Sandy wast just willing to move on already. The mercenaries certainly deserved to win, I agree with that as well. The merger should be rather interesting, but unfortunatley our team may have seen the last of it's alliance. It was great playing with all of you, and no matter what happens yous all cool in my book :p. If i make it to the final two teams, I'll keep going since I was kind of hoping we could turn out a win even with 3 active members, but we shall see what happens.

This is a very easy question to answer, as there are many things little and big that make me happy, but i'll just make note of the ones that are high up on the list : -Rain Rain will put me in a good mood almost no matter what kind of mood i'm in before it starts raining. To me rain is the ideal weather, because unlike the boring sunshine, rain adds depth, atmosphere, and mystique to your surroundings. It enhances my ability to think clearly and let's me sleep more peacefully. -Writing I love writing, it's what I do, it's what I intend to keep doing. The only thing that will make me more happy then writing is when i finally get the opportunity to bring one of my stories to life. -Sex/Cuddling Sex is good...very good. When i'm not having sex, cuddling is nice too. I think many guys underappreciate that. -Dogs I love dogs....that's good enough, right? -The Mets winning Number 1 in the NL east thus far, we intend to go all the way this year. -Time to myself I hang out with friends a lot and whatnot, but it's really nice having time to myself every so often. It's nice and peaceful and I can enjoy even simply doing nothing. -Food I love food, and thanks to my supernatural metabolism I can eat a lot and still keep in good shape. Hooray.
I absolutely love Evil Angel and Dance with the Devil from Phoba though; probably some of the best rock songs I've heard.
Correct, :p. Toss Breath in there and you have the three shining stars of the album.
Recently I got the CD Phobia by Breaking Benjamin. I only got it to listen to 'Diary of Jane' but it turned out to be one of the greatest CD's I had ever bought. Now ironicly a week after I bought the CD, thy were going to be in Canton NY. Ironic? But after going to that concert they became my favorite band. Beating avenged Sevenfold to a bloody pulp. Now I ask you all, do you like Breaking Benjamin? I'd say I do, I just explained here. But what I like is the instramentals, and the lyrics. His voice has that calming feeling to me, even when screaming. Now I know an artist is good when their music gives me cold chills. That;s exactely what the music did to my body while listening to them. Now I see that there has already been three threads for this band. But hopefully we can keep this up longer than the others.
Diary of Jane is hardly the best song on that CD, but it is a good one. Obviously as can be told by my current sig, I am a big BB fan. They are my favorite band of today by far, and have a lot of great potential for the future. It isn't that they revolutionized the genre, but more like they represent the genre magnificently. The sound is great, hes got a good voice on him, and their music is easy to indentify as each song have a similar feel to them, but at the same time each song has great individuality. They aren't my favorite band in terms of lyrics, but that's another great aspect of the band. Phobia is a great great album though, I really liked WANA, Saturate I liked for the most part as well. They've been going strong. So yeah, they're just too good of a band to say you don't like them. Everyone I know likes at the very least 2 or 3 songs from them. But, to each their own :).

I read that first post and was like "Ehhhh? Why do we get the wackos and not the other teams?" In any case, glad to see your pulsebeat grace the team thread again, White :). Things will have to be adjusted now, but we'll work it out. As i've discussed previously, i will handle my information before the day's end and hopefully my other PM went through ok.

I've been able to do quite fine without a good majority of the support skills as long as they were sacrificed for useful battle skills. Some of them are handy, but having the right battle skills is more important. You basically want a good mix of close range and short range offense in your team as a whole, not so much on one person as long as you can make good combinations. Of course your healers are obvious choices, I had Nel and Fayt doing secondary healing duty and they were pretty efficient at it for the most part. Certain characters have a great balance of short and long range ample offense (Maria and Nel for instance). For the most part, all the later skills you learn are the best you can get (the level 50+ ones, gravity bullet, dimension door, mirror slice, etc), especially the item granted skills (but don't worry about those yet since you've yet to beat the game). The only notable skills you should keep because of specific usefulness out of the mid-level learned ones are
Crescent Locus for quick short range knockdown (the knockdown effect works a good majority of the time, more so on weaker enemies), Aiming Device can confuse enemies and is a great mediation skill from long range but don't count on it for a lot of damage, Fists of Fury for pretty pretty numbers >.>....nah, it's a great skill to keep an enemy in place and if set to O it will break guard even if the enemy manages to get his fury up during, Aura Wall for MP kills if you've got a good combination of MP damaging skills going on, Flying Guiolltine for great long range multi-hit damage
. I personally didn't use Fayt in my final battle, but i'd say keep
Air Raid and Side Kick handy aside from Dimension Door
. Make some judgement calls on what works well for you, just try to remember that you can take the role of any part essential to the party, not only the big damager.
The Hauler maze is a pain. I had to do it soooo many times and then I forgot to save. T_T So I had to do it a whole bunch more! It sucked. I don't remember how to do it anyways, I just remember that my Hauler went opposite directions of what I did. Back to the Albel thing. I have only 7 characters in my party. Or at least one extra space. So do I just go to the Urssa Lava Caves? Where are those by the way. I just got back into playing the game yesterday after about 7 or 8 months.

Are 2 of your 7 characters any 2 out of Nel/Roger/Peppita
?

Anime Your "To Buy" list? (anime and manga edition)
TheResplendent replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
The other one on my to buy list, is any DVD from the Case Closed series. I love mysteries and the way things are zany in this with Jimmy being
turned into a kid
is fun to watch. And the way he has to return to grade school and gets dragged around on occasion with the other kids is hilarious . I also like how the show really requires you to pay attention to figure out the mysteries. So as long as they keep releasing this, it will be on my 'to buy' list.
That's why I love Detective Conan/Case Closed. I was really upset when they took it off CN, especially since they showed i think around 50 episodes out of like...500. I'd really want to buy the entire thing if it existed, I've looked for all the volumes and whatnot that I could find and it's so damn confusing sometimes. I don't typically buy anime in volumes since the price is rediculous for like 3-4 episodes, and i don't see a point in it since boxsets allow you to watch the series at your own pace. Typically box sets are pretty expensive too...but I guess it's my bias since I have a friend who works for a DVD shop who can get me sets for cheap. As for other things on my "to buy" list, I still want to get all the Fullmetal Alchemist volumes, since they've yet to come out with a box set. Gunslinger Girl, Berserk, Evangelion and S-cry-eD are the full sets currently on my list to get. -
I went back to playing today and I went to Peternia, but I didn't find Albel there. Does anyone know where he might be and how to get there? Right now I'm in 4D space at...Gemini? (The game place) I'm using the world transporter there to go places.
If your accessing the eternal sphere from Gemity for the first time and are at the proper point where you can recruit Albel, he is
In the Urssa Lava Caves, where you fought Crocell. You have to trigger it first by speaking with Woltar in the storm brigade's mansion though. Be sure to prepare Fayt with your best equipment since it will be a one on one fight you'll have to win.
If however this isn't the case, and you've already recruited your eight characters, then you'll have to get him the next time around you play the game.

Indeed customization and tradeskills have done quite a good job of running me down on money, heh. Though I can't really imagine what else I would have used the money on, except the usual healing items and whatnot. Synthesis, compounding, and crafting are especially handy to delve into, in fact synthesis is pretty much compulsory :p.

Alright guys, it seems the pace has really slowed down but let's stick with it until the end and show what the team's spirit is made of. It seems we have been given the roles of the human defenders against the factions of alien invaders. There's a bunch of angles we could take on for this, perhaps a military faction or we could even work off of out superhero alter-egos from the previous theme, or even derive our new characters from the super-power concept. The only specification made was that we are human and are defending ourselves, so there's liberties to be taken. Give your thoughts.

Virgil held Linett in place with his hand grasped around her throat, though not hard enough to cut off her air. He just gazed indifferently at her while her irises descended further into her own instinctual drive. She slashed wildly with her hands, her fingernails tearing shallowly into Virgil's face. Virgil healed the scratches quickly one after another as they were inflicted. He gripped a little tighter to slow Linett's motions just a little, and brought her in closer to him so that her face was just an inch away from his. He opened his mouth and began to prep his voice to forcibly calm Linett with his vocal sedation. "The loss of one's sense is the loss of one's capability to perceive themself. If you lose hold of who you are then your mind warps deeper then the reach of your hands, and furthest from the range of your ears." Linett gripped onto Virgil's collar to keep herself from falling completely limp in his arms, her eyes fluttered as she grew more fatigued with every word Virgil spoke. Virgil let Linett drape her body across his arm as he pulled her up toward him and touched his lips to hers before lifting her now completely asleep self up into his arms and carried her back toward the car. Jacob, Florian, and Helena watched on as Virgil easily subdued her. Helena knelt behind the hood of the car with one hand level with her chin, her eyes with a concerned look. She knew the kiss wasn't for romantic purposes, but she still felt like she could have done without seeing it. Her thoughts were interuppted by a sharp pain sensation from her left side, she gripped it with both of her hands now. Blood dripped onto the ground from underneathe her tank top, she tried desperately to hide the fact that she had gotten injured during the period of gunfire. Virgil placed Linett into the backseat of the car and propped her upright agaisnt the door. He looked over at Jacob and Florian who were giving him odd looks. "What? Can I help it if I know how to handle the ladies?" Virgil said jokingly, giving his underlings a joking smile as he walked around the car. Before Virgil could do anything else, from the corner of his he caught one of the assailants trying to drag himself to his feet. 'One of them is still alive? Well, suppose I shouldn't waste it.' Virgil thought to himself as he suddenly began walking over toward the survivor. Jacob and Florian followed him, making sure they were in a good position to watch Virgil's back. Virgil lifted the vampire up to his feet by his collar and held him infront of him. "You aren't Nicodemus, you seem to be nothing but a rogue vampire. What business have you attacking me and my men, or do you think you were to simply get a human meal?" Virgil asked, keeping the survivor detained with one hand as he struggled. "Answer him or you shall no longer be among the living, like your friends!" Jacob yelled. Virgil silenced Jacob with his hand and turned his attention back to the man in front of him. He began to laugh between breaths, much to Virgil's curiosity. "No...we knew who we were attacking. We were to assassinate Virgil Kingston of the SOLF." he answered, surprising Virgil's underlings and Helena who had overheard from the car. "You fool! Do you not fear for your life?" Florian yelled. "You two, quiet from now on!" Virgil commanded, Jacob and Florian bowing their heads and silencing themselves. "F...fear. Of course we fear, the country fears but for nobody to take action against the tyranny of the SOLF is a greater sin. We knew our chances of succeeding were poor, but our actions will speak loudly even in death." The words seemed to hardly affect Virgil, but he despised being thought of as a terrorist or as how many saw the SOLF. He couldn't expect everyone to take the time out of their lives to fully understand what the Augustine's vision of the future was, or what was ideal about it, especially for the benefit of vampire kind. "You can forget about your rendezvous too, the information you were to receive is a pile of ashes, just like your friend!" the vampire survivor spoke once more. Virgil just tightened his grip on the vampire's collar and hurled him with great strength into the nearby memorial statue, causing it to crumble down on top of him. Helena watched on, effected a bit harshly by the words their assailant spoke. She knew deep down that what they were doing had to be right, but she knew that Virgil was probably more upset then he was letting on. She tried to stand up to say something but before she could get to a full vertical base she fell back down to her knees. Virgil turned around and began walking back followed by his subordinates, Helena opened up the door to the Navigator and crawled her way inside to avoid being seen by Virgil. "Let us return for now. It's best that they destroyed the file rather then anything else. Even if they did look at it, nobody is talking now." Virgil said, his suborinates nodding and getting into the car. Virgil went to open the driver seat door but stopped halfway after noticing the bulletholes in the door and cracked window. Virgil's eyes widened from his normal look and he let out a small groan. "Son of a bitch! I just got this paint job too..." Virgil complained. Jacob and Florian subtly laughed to themselves, knowing how much Virgil liked his car. Virgil sighed and got in, he noticed Helena hunched over a bit behind his seat. "Helena...when we get back, wait for me in your room." he spoke, catching Helena's attention suddenly. "Y...yes sir! Of course." Helena said, overjoyed inside that she would get to spend some alone time with Virgil. Though she began to wonder if he had noticed her injury.

The room broke into spikes of chatter, breaking the silence that had fallen over the room. Not that the news came as a shock, but when the idea of The Brotherhood of Infinite Longevity going as far as pushing their prize drug within the very territory of the Jade Forest and Eternal Repose sunk it, it inspired all kinda of thoughts ranging from the stupidity of the concept to the willingness to crush the operation then and there. "Please, everyone remain silent. Our next order of business concerns the possibility of large scale hostilities with Infinite Longevity. I grant the floor to our own War Dragon to discuss preparations and what to expect." Boss Fai spoke, raising his hand to Sai. Sai nodded and rose to his feet. Luyii gave him a fleeting yet proud glance as she continued serving the guests. Sai walked to the middle of the floor and remoed his sunglasses, placing them in his suit jacket pocket. "Today's meeting is indeed favorable considering events that are all but impending. Having only familiarized myself with this Dragon's Tongue recently myself, I have consulted the good doctor on it as well as some associates of mine." Sai explained, as he turned his head and nodded in the direction of Doctor Xing. "The most obvious concern of the effects of this drug by itself is how tremendously it will enhance the physical capabilities of Infinite Longevity's people, as well as those they cater to. If an all out war were to start because their decision to step up their invasion of our territory from drug trafficking to physical hostilities, then despite the ramification of the drug we must be prepared to know how to deal with such a threat." Sai continued, the attention of the room on him. The White Prince watched on as well, though his eyes wandered around the room following the direction of the Willow Fairy. "If what Doctor Xing says about the effects of the drug is true..." Hui Dong the Dragonfly of the Jade Forest stood and spoke. "How can we expect to physically combat people using Dragon's Tongue unless we mean to match their strength" "If your implication is that we too use the drug, it would be at your own risk. You forget that even if you survive the drug's effect on you'd might as well beg for death." Sai answered firmly, a hint of sarcasm in his voice, not taking Dong's question seriously. "Well, we do outnumber them. We have the advantage in weapons and we are in no financial trouble. It seems rather possible to me." The White Prince chimed in. Luyii made her round again, standing right beside the White Prince himself. "The concept indeed seems simple, it will be the actual actions that will prove harder." Sai assured him. The White Prince grinned as if not convinced, and glanced over at Luyii next to him once again. "Harder maybe, but would the War Dragon be so skeptical when it comes to issues concerning war itself? Or has his attention been elsewhere lately, perhaps too much of a good thing can dwindle the other parts of the mind. I could take it off your hands and keep it busy if you'd like." The White Prince spoke, blatantly turning his head to Luyii who's hand tensed up as she unfortunatley understood the reference. She controlled herself as best she could, she knew how important it was to keep the peace. Sai on the other hand, made his way closer with an offended look clearly on his face. "I am more versed than anyone you could present from your whore house, whom you surround yourself in so proudly. Rather then letting the blind lead the blind I choose the path to ample facilitation, perhaps you should consider that when making your remarks." Sai exclaimed, glaring downward at the White Prince in his seated position, Luyii making her way passed Sai, a satisfied smile in her head but the proper facade on her face. "Sai, such defense is not required. Our guest is simply voicing his concerns, as we all have them." Fai stood and said. Sai clenched his fist, but turned to Fai and bowed his head in respect and embarrasment. "My apologies, I suppose it is because of how confident I am in our capabilities. I assure the White Prince as well as the rest of the Jade Forest that The Brotherhood of Eternal Repose is more then ready to take the neccesary steps to defending our collective territory. The first step is to indentify the regulars on this drug, and once found it will open up a myriad of pathways to who the dealers themselves are, and in addition to our defense we can launch offensives in order to surpress the dealing before it gets too out of hand." Sai explained, calming himself only because of his favorable position in the eys of Fai Chou. "How do you intend on finding these clients, Mr. Yuan?" Snowcat asked, using politeness despite having called him by his first name in the past. "The fight ring of course. The tournament I have been preparing for is days away, surely with the uproar of this drug it is sure to make it's way to a number of the contestants. I have my prize fighters, including myself...I don't care how effective this drug is on the physical nature of it's takers, It will be an easy task for me to find out the information I need." Sai explained, confident in his abilities. "I too am confident, but we will not make the mistake of taking this issue lightly. War Dragon has a number of preparations that will ensure the procuring of the amount of intel we will need." Boss Fai spoke, having discussed the matter with Sai prior to the meeting. The White Prince nodded in satisfaction to Fai, while Sai bowed in respect to both of the leaders. His eyes moved to it's corners over to Luyii who returned Sai's subtle glance. He repostured himself and turned to Fai. "If I may excuse myself now, I shall return shortly for the remainder of the proceedings. There is something that requires tending to for the moment." Sai explained, Fai nodding his head allowing him to do so. Sai walked passed Dead who nodded to him as he left through the door. Luyii looked to her father who as if on cue waved his hand, allowing Luyii to go after Sai.

Just noticed I've never posted in this thread...amazing how this slipped by me. But in any case, rather then go on about my experiences and what not i'll just say that i've beaten the game quite a while ago yet I still enjoy going back to it every now and run around in
the maze of tribulations or the Sphere corporation
and whatnot. A friend of mine is playing through it for the first time and I've rather been enjoying reliving the main storyline with her as she plays through it while I'm around. Indeed Albel is an awesome character, probably my favorite in the game personality and fighting style wise, eventhough generally he isn't all that terrific of a fighter in comparison to the majority of the other party members. Even
Dragons Roar
leaves a lot to be desired in terms of versatility, despite it being a wickedly cool looking move. With Albel specifically I haven't gotten any of his advanced moves yet. At the point he is at though, he is relatively still not as capable as my stronger characters so I can't imagine his item granted special attacks proving too useful for that aspect. In almost any party I use, Maria and Nel are almost always my lead characters for many reasons, including them being my favorite characters for short and long range versatility in attacks, great flow for cancel bonuses, greatest ability for battle bonus preservation, and (in Maria's case) ample battle mediation skills.
Gravity Bullet, Mirror Slice, Crescent Locus, Flying Guillotine, Energy Burst, Divine Wrath
are just some of the absolute best skills in the game for mid-high level stakes respectively. I take good care of my leading ladies :). In addition to a real fantastic story and follow through, great characters and gameplay, and fun and challenging battle system, Star Ocean also has terrific replay value. It procures quite a special place in my heart ;P.
Heh. People who spam 1 move are boring to play because they are so easy. Run up to them. Wavedash backwards. Watch them do their laggy move then punish for it everytime. One good way to beat shiek with fox is his grab. Dashdance around to get a grab in then upthrow uair them. Works at almost any %'s if your opponent doesn't DI correctly. On another note, a DK player named Bum just got 4th in a huge tournament taking out the best falcon player in the world and the best IC player in the world(who also happens to be the second best in america) Crouds were amazed! lol. Just more proof that Skill > Tiers. He ended up losing to a fox though of course.
I have a friend who's a DK player, and I have to admit I can see where DK could be a deceptively handy character. I think a lot of the bigger characters are underrated often, as I am a very skilled Bowser player and I know someone who is a skilled Ganondorf player (as in he doesn't abuse the same down B move all the time, lol). It's always a fun fight when we get together and we team Bowser and Ganon together and face my other friends who use Fox and Link. They always come close to winning but havn't achieved it yet, but there's always a ton of funny moments in those matches for some reason. We even do screenshot mode sometimes, but it's really best when in the moment ;P.
It's been a while since I popped it in, but as far as I remember (and if I'm not getting demon names confused)
you can only buy Mitamas at the store... I think it's called Rag's Goods or something like that? More and more are available at his shop over the course of the game. They're mostly good for increasing demon strength through fusion.

Yep, that seems to be the only way. I completely forgot about Rag's jewelry shop, I never really spent much time in that shop lol. I just hit level 80 and am currently preparing for the fusing of my
Ongyo-Ki in one more level. Right now i'm keeping Uriel, Dante, and Trumpeteer as my primary party, Ongyo-Ki will more than likely replace my Trumpeteer, as attached as i've gotten to him ;_ ;.
Compendium is at 85% so it seems as if I still have quite a ways to go. There's still a few strays who I still need to nab because I either never wanted one or missed the chance to do so the first time around (such as missing my chance to get a
Matador
back when he within my level range). I still need to find the fusing formula and proper Kagatsutchi phase for
The Harlot
.

That's why I used to love playing with Sheik, I would piss people off by juggling them so easily. Then it just lost it's appeal over the other characters I liked using, jus fell out of using her. I don't really care about tiers since I only play the game for fun, so if anyone ever complained I would jus say "Ok, so i'll beat you with another character". The best is when people don't understand how Jigglypuff can be a useful character, and then they get beat by him/her. Nowadays Marth and Falco are the only "top tier" characters I use, with Falco I admit being one of my best but it means very little really when playing with most gamers. If people are going to be nuts about who you play with and critisize you based on it then they don't got to be playing the game. I also happen to hate Link due to personal bias because my friend's plays ONLY with Link, he has no other characters he likes and all he does with Link is his ^b spin move. He's relies only on that move and hardly even uses A attacks. Makes him easy to read obviously and I especially have fun knocking him around with Jigglypuff, but it's just annoying and redundant.

Ok since my playlists have updated, I shall give it a go: 1) I'm Back - Dope -One of the few songs I like from the band, nothing really special bout it. Just sounds cool. 2) Beautiful Lie - 30 Seconds to mars -One of my favorite songs from the band, though not in my top 3. I've really taken a liking to the band since actually being recently introduced to them ;P. 3) The Truth - Nonpoint -One of my favorites from Nonpoint, great band. Never woulda know that the guy was hispanic though unless I heard Rabia. 4) Next to Nothing - Breaking Benjamin -Great song from my favorite band, what more can I say? I'm listening as I write this, I expect a couple more Breaking Benjamin songs to come up as they are the only band that I have every song off every album they've come out with on my playlist, heh. 5) You Know My Name - Chris Cornell -People may recognize this as the opening theme to Casino Royale, it was a pretty awesome opening sequence and a great song to go along with it too. Great movie as well. 6) Panic Prone - Chevelle -One of my favorite songs from Chevelle, a band I used to really be into, still am but not as much. This and Breach Birth are still songs that I never skip on my playlist. 7) Oblivion - 30 Seconds to Mars -My second favorite song from the band. So much runs through my head when I hear this song, it's a real imagination catalyst. 8) Petrified - Fort Minor -My favorite FM song, Shinoda's solo project was great but I definitly can't wait to get Linkin Park's new material, it's been too damn long. 9) JENOVA - The Black Mages -One of the most bad *** remixes of a favorite final fantasy theme i've ever heard. I've always been meaning to play through the game again and turn this up during one of the Jenova fights, ;P. 10) Coffee and TV - Blur -I don't care what anyone says, this is an awesome song with a halarious video. That little milk carton rules. 11) Evolution - Ayumi Hamasaki -Cool fast paced song, she's got a sexy voice and she is sexy, period. 12) Godspeed - Anberlin -A band i've really become obsessed with lately, and a great song from them. One of my favorite up there with Paperthin Hymn, Dismantle Repair, and Ready Fuels. 13) Breath - Breaking Benjamin -Was wondering for a moment if there was only going to be one of these on the list. My favorite song off of Phobia, along with Evil Angel and Dance with the Devil. I'll reiterate again, great awesome f**king band. 14) The Game - Disturbed -Love the instrumental of this song personally, but the original version itself is awesome. 15) This Fire Burns - Killswitch Engage -Awesome song, always gets me hyped up. Also, for anyone that understands what I'm talking about: CM Punk. End. Nice mix of a lot of great songs from my main playlist. Quite a few of my favorite bands up there.
Famous: Positive - for example: Johnny Depp. Infamous: Negative - for example: [strike]George W. Bush[/strike] Osama Bin Laden.
^ correct for the most part. Infamous is usually used to describe someone who is well known for a more shady or unfavorable feat, such as Osama Bin Laden in Boo's example or Adolf Hitler as another example. Where as famous isn't neccesarily only positive, but simply known for anything other then a generally accepted negative reason. An actor can be famous, but not neccesarily be viewed as positive in all cases, there could be a feeling of indifference even in the majority opinion, but that wouldn't change the fact that the person is famous because he is well known. That would be the difference between famous and popular (popular being a more overwhelming and consistent positive type of being well known, where as famous is typically positive but not always). The evisceration of your name
TheResplendent replied to TheResplendent's topic in General Discussion
Actually, that sounds more like Spanish ? "High-may", I mean. And Zeke, you can always point to Jamie Lee Curtis as a precedent. :animesmil I've never had any problems with people pronouncing my name. I mean, there's not a lot of ways one can screw up Aaron. Pretty straightforward. (It's always extremely entertaining when people try, though. That's a hard name to even mutilate on purpose.)
I guess there's a real difference dependent on the area, I know about 6 girls named Jaimie personally over here, it's not an uncommon girls name in New York. Most guys I know named Jamie actually pronounce it with the "High" sound, and yeah some of them are hispanic. -
Heh, I actually started playing it again from my save before I unlocked the
Fifth Kalpa of the labyrinth
so I could fill up my demon compendium to 100%. Still on the quest to do so, right now i'm trying to
go through the steps I need to get Metatron when I am of level to do so, and I still need Kin-Ki so I can get myself an Ongyo-Ki.
I do have a question though GNPC, is it possible to get a
Mitama?
I've only seen them during full kagatsuchis and inside the labryinth so it seems like I can't.
