1. Name: Shinzou Tanaka Gender: Male Age: 24 Demon Form: Loure Weapon: Freyr Rank: The best information retriever (AKA Spy) Physical description: Shinzou Personality: Shinzou is a well spoken individual who has truly mastered the arts of sincerity and deception. Both of which make him an excellent spy and recon worker. His quick tongue will often get him out of trouble but can just as easily get him into it. He is used to being alone and knows well how to survive based on self-reliance, hence the skills he has chosen to develop. From the perspective of anyone from the outside he appears to be a very well put together person who is a master of his trade. Deep inside however while Shinzou lives his life the best he can now, since he suffers from an ailment which effects his respitory organs. It was a result of the light as much as his new capabilities were...he dosn't understand the nature of the disease nor does he know exactly how it came to him. Outbreaks of symptons are rare, but it is always present within him. Normal symptons include shortness of breathe, decreased mobility, and occaisonal coughing fits including blood and phlegm. More serious outbreaks will see Shinzou writhing on the ground unable to control himself in fighting against the disease, he expects any moment could be his last and lives only to make the remaining moments worth it for himself. The disease does not normally hinder his combat abilities, but inoppurtuned outbreaks can be quite detrimental. He also finds that when in the form of Loure his ailment seems to supress itself as he gains large spikes of increases in many attributes. It however does not actually prevent outbreaks or symptons, it is merely less likely. He never questions life or why he is afflicted with what he is, he simply makes up his own rules to how to live with it. His adaptability and cunning nature makes it much easier for him to survive, and often he completely forgets that anything is wrong. Combat Tactics: Stealthy and cunning, Shinzou excells at his knack for spying and recon work. His deceptive nature allows him to befriend others falsley and find out what he needs to know in addition to the traditional style of eavesdropping spy work. He is swift, flexible, and talented in most forms of close range combat. He works well by himself in all aspects of his life's inclination, which normally involve sneaking, escaping, and fast-talking. When faced with a fight he can't avoid, he depends on his in the fray battle skills and advanced knowlegde in ice magic to defend himself. Often he will kill as many as he needs to in order to send anyone else looking to get a piece of him running, when faced with large groups he will try to split them up as best as he can. When faced with a single opponent he will drag the fight out to gain an advantage in patience and thinking. Victory however for him does not always entail defeating the other person, a quick escape or achieving his goal without bloodshed even is acceptable to him. Skills: Shinzou enjoys and excells at strategy based games (similar to styles like Stratego or Chess) and is a great appreciator of music eventhough he has no particular talent himself to create it. In addition, he has an excellent and near-perfect sense of hearing; something that also greatly helps him in his trade. Domestic skills include him being a neat freak, which may also contribute to proficiency in classifications and organization. Phobias and Weaknesses: Shinzou isn't neccesarily afraid of anything in particular, but overall he fears that he may not be able to accomplish many things in the time he believes he has to live. His weakness is clearly his disease when he begins to have outbreaks, it can be extremely inconvenient when in the middle of a mission especially. Pet Peeves: -People who take life for granted, as well as people who act as if the laws of life do not apply to them. -People who are afraid of death -People who pick fights for no logical reason but merely to fill their own ego. 2. Well, getting back on track. I believe in god and i was raised roman catholic. I have taken with me the ideals and values i deemed sense-worthy as i matured through my life and I have had plenty of situations that give me plenty of personal reasons why my choice to have faith in god is true. By no means am i a good catholic in terms of "by the book" since i havn't been to church since last easter and do not attend on a weekly basis. I have broken a few commandments and there's was no way i was gonna save sex for marriage. I often feel unworthy of being acknowledged eventhough i have faith because of how loosely i follow the actual religion...but i've gotten through a lot of tough times thanks to my faith. It's funny the one big discretion i have involves not saying a single curse word (especially the lords name in vain) when in a church or the presence of a church. Dunno why that's such a big deal to me but i can't bring myself to do it. My apologies to all the atheists who think this is all just mindless babble and whatnot. I'm posting in here with confidence this thread won't turn into a giant bash thread for people who are ignorant to ideals other then their own.
3. On the transport: Team E6 - - - - - - - - Kyosuke looked around at everyone else in the transport with him. Himself, Lazarus, Blaize, Aaron...even the marines accompanying them were quiet. Since leaving port neither of the 4 members of the squad had very much to say to one another. Everyone pretty much kept to themselves, thinking either about what was ahead of them or the events of the day before today. Time had fled by so fast, the 12 students who spent years training to become risk breakers have finally reached the day where all of their hard work would finally pay off. Kyosuke sat quietly with his head down, deep in thought. It was the hardest for him to accept the fact that they had to go through with this mission, when he heard that it was the forces of Archadia they were to oppose. He still knew people back in Archadia from when he was a child, and of course his father who still resided there. He wasn't going to pretend to know everything about the situation, but he knew that there was no turning back now. Morrie was paying the academy for their services, and it was to be their final exam, as well as first mission. He knew however that his Father often served as an advisor to Javiar Galdue, he couldn't help but wonder how much his father actually had to do with this decision. He wanted to believe none, but he could also see things from Archadia's point of view, considering the danger involved. However, the students weren't there to express their opinions. A part of being a Risk Breaker was being skilled in the art of trained incapacity. A marine looked over at Kyosuke and notices his uneasy expression. "Hey kid, don't worry so much. Things are going to go pretty smoothly if we have anything to say about it." Kyosuke didn't look up, but sneered a bit inside at the soldier's ignorance. He knew he was only trying to helpful, but remained silent. It wasn't his nerves that was the issue, and eventhough there was no way for the soldiers to know that he ignored them rather then correct them. His thoughts began to focus on the previous day, the student's last day together until after the mission...and that's if everyone survives. The day before... - - - - - - - - The students had gotten together for an informal get together before their final exam. It was late into the evening already, Kyosuke had wandered off onto the nearest balcony which overlooked the water bordering the academy. He took a few sips of his drink and placed his glass on the banister. Footsteps interuppted his train of thought as he turned his head slightly to see Aaron approaching him. "Hey, everything ok man?" Aaron asked, leaning on the banister beside Kyosuke. "Yes...everything is fine. Just doing some last minute planning before tomorrow." "The gears never stop turning do they?" Aaron responded in a joking tone. Kyosuke smirked a bit. He realized that he never really had the oppurtunity to finish up talking with Aaron, but he had lost motivation suddenly. All he could think about at that moment was the next day, what his father told him about his cross, and for some reason both Ayame and Sakura were on his mind. He noticed Ayame was spending more time than usual with Stephen, and he couldn't help but feel like he had done something to create a distance between them. The whole night he had wanted to approach her but for some reason he couldn't think of what to say to her. At the same time he had been spending more time with Sakura...he knew he didn't have to worry about her...but he did anyway because he knew they weren't on the same squad. Kyosuke looked over at Aaron, realizing that he had not responded yet to his last comment. "No...i suppose they don't..." Kyosuke responded, not able to say much but not wanting to be rude either. Aaron glanced over and noticed Kyo was a bit short on words for the time being, he understood and didn't want him to feel forced to conversate if he didn't want to. "Hey, look. I don't want things to be awkward, you and me don't have to speak right now. I know there's probably a lot on your mind. But before i leave i just want to make sure you know one thing...and that's I trust you. Tomorrow, we're going to make a hell of a team." Aaron said confidently. Kyosuke turned to him, and nodded in acknowledgement. He knew he was most likely not going to have a problem working with Aaron, he had little concerns. Aaron walked away as Kyosuke fully turned around himself and went back into lounge where everyone was to rejoin his friends. He sat down with Havok, Rinoa, Sakura, and Blaize and joined in a conversation. He drowned out a portion of it as he turned his attention to Sakura for a bit...looking into her eyes. They always seemed soft and gentle, oddly enough they did then as well. Kyo knew Sakura always got restless before big exam, and tomorrow was as big as they come. Kyo lost himself in thought, still staring at Sakura. He didn't notice when Sakura turned her head and looked his way. He snapped out of it and noticed her eyes locked onto his. For some reason it took Kyosuke by surprise and send a chill down his spine. Kyo and Sakura looked away from each other at the same time so not to draw attention to them since they were being addressed in the conversation. Kyosuke wondered why Sakura's gaze had never made him feel that way before. His head was too full to give it enough attention, as it usually was. For one reason or another though, he found it difficult to get Sakura out of his head for that night. Present day... - - - - - - - - "She'll be ok...I know it..." Kyosuke thought to himself, trying to relieve himself of one of his many concerns at that time. 4. Injections is most certainly more humane, but not cheaper then simply beating them to death. That couldn't be more obvious. It's as i already stated in one of my last posts...whether it be through domestic or international means acquiring the injections or establishing clinics to give them in if the supply isn't the issue will cost a good mount of the government's money. As for alternative means to killing them, as far as i'm concerned i don't see any method of murder of these dogs as "humane". My opinion and feelings wouldn't change much if the method of killing were gas chamber OR lethal injection...it's still mass killing and it's still cruel and unnecessary. But the beating them to death (especially with those pictures that were with the article) did strike a very bad nerve. Again as i've stated it makes it look like some sick game.
5. #8 Not quite lunar, Not quite bipolar Gonna go with Eclipse on this one. Seems to make sense in context though it's very possible i'm wrong as well.
6. The night was practically just starting when the meeting between the 3 organizations came to an end. The subtle beams of light shining down from the moon lit the ground making it a brighter than usual night. Virgil looked out the nearest window from his seated position inside his apartment complex. Very rarely did he get to enjoy the moon at it's current phase, more times then often he would be carrying out missions or handling other business between the AVC and GSD. Now was during different times, the AVC headquarters was under light security for the day only and most of their dedicated operatives and members were allowed free time to themselves. It was clear a great bloodshed could occur at anytime between the Blood Brood and the alliance of the other 3 organizations. Everyone had to be as ready as they could be, even if it was ready to die. His apartment was messy, he rarely ever spent time there however. He had befriended another tenant of the complex who lived below him, his name was Jack Glauer. Jack wasn't aware of Virgil's true indentity, he kept nothing representative of his vampire life in that apartment. Virgil had met Jack after he saved him from an attack in a nearby allyway. They were two vampires, and Virgil knew what would have happened if he didn't step in. It was another human life saved, he lost count of how many over the course of his long life that made altogether. Virgil lost himself as he gazed outside...he found himself wondering when all hell was going to break loose, but was quickly brought back to reality by the person sitting across from him. "Virgil! Hey man, it's your go." Virgil turned and looked infront of him, seeing his friend with 5 cards in his hand. Virgil looked down at his own, seeing something that pleased him so he refused to draw. "Don't rush me...besides, i'm good." Virgil responded. "Alright man, you asked for it!" Virgil's friend responded, laying down a full house of 2 nines and 3 jacks. Virgil shot him a grin and threw out a straight flush. "What the...there's no way!" "I win again, Jack." Virgil said, as he glanced down at his watch impatiently. Virgil noticed how close to 11 it was getting, and he stood up in his place suddenly. Jack looked up at him in confusion wondering what was wrong. "Something wrong?" he asked, gathering up the cards and reshuffling them. "It's almost 11. Time for me to go buddy, do me a favor and lock up when you leave." Virgil said tossing Jack a copy of his door key. Virgil knew the Arch Duke and Amelia were due back anytime. He hopped into his Tribute and started the ignition. It was his normal travelling car, he kept any others at the AVC HQ. Tonight he kept himself on alert to make sure that both Amelia and the Arch Duke arrived back safely. He had am ample amount of trust concerning the GSD, especially since he is familiar with many of their normal members from joint operations in the past. It was the lowendove brotherhood however whom he was suspicious of. Since his joining of the AVC he has held Arch Duke Richilieu in very high esteem, and respects him greatly. He is reminded of his old master in many aspects...thinking of that in the middle of his drive, it reminded him that he must make his monthly visit to the cemetary in which his old sensei was burried in. Amelia on the other hand, it wasn't so much about respect. Eversince the incident which tore Joseph away from her and the AVC, Virgil had been appointed as her new partner. The two rarely got along, but Virgil constantly tried his best to cheer her up. Regardless however, she was an important ally. It was an important night for the AVC as a whole, and Virgil wanted to personally make sure that everything went smoothly. Virgil pulled onto the turn leading to the somewhat hidden roundabout where the AVC's HQ building was located. He didn't see Amelia's mercedes and he started to wonder if everything went smoothly or not. He parked and was greeted by one of the door guards to the mansion. "Mr. Kingston! Welcome back." the guard said, waving as he walked out from the door. Virgil nodded at the guard as he threw his trenchcoat on over his normal black clothing. "Have the Arch Duke and Ms. Bernadette returned yet?" Virgil asked the guard. "Not yet sir." Virgil nodded in ackowledgement and waved for the guard to go about his business. He went to go inside the building, but was distracted by a pair of headlights pulling into the lot.
7. Name: Adrian Braddack Age: 28 Class/Job: Vanguard Commander of the military Weapon: Dual customized sabres with guns built into the guards, capable of firing 2 rounds each. They are sheathed on both sides of his waist when not in use. He also has an extensive knowledge in man made explosives, and carries several types of grenades with him at all times. Appearance: Adrian (minus the cig, Adrian does not smoke). His normal uniform is a an open black jacket with gold trim, with the insignia of his military and rank on his left chest area and right sleeve (4 gold stars over the flat end of a half circle of red and blue color standing for the military on his chest, red/blue/gold coat of arms with a sword through middle standing for Vanguard Commander on his sleeve). Underneathe the jacket, the basic jist for his attire can be seen here (minus the boots, replaced with normal length boots). Skills: An accomplished swordsman whose speed and movement in the fray is his best feature. He can fend for himself unarmed (especially with his new genetic variation) but is considered very lethal when wielding his sabres. His knowledge of explosives it top notch and is good at incorporating them into his techniques. Genetic Variation: -Adrian has gained the ability of instant flash. This is the capability to leap/step from one area to another with superhuman speed. It is an excellent evasive and battle tactic and can easily be used to get somewhere much quicker then most vehicles and most certain normal walking. -Adrian also has the ability to manifest fire throughout his body. It can be used to burn and incinerate enemies and he often coats his sabres with fire to make them more intimidating. This ability has consequences to the body however and weakens him with a great deal of excessive use. Adrian also will not be able to use instant flash when in this weakened state. Personality: Adrian is the epitome of loyalty to those he cares for and those he served as a high ranking officer of the military in his time. He is a model leader and his position as Vanguard Commander is an example of his fearless nature. He will see things through to the end and often becomes quite passionate about his goals. He treats people with respect and expects to be treated with the same respect. Adrian is known for susceptibility to lapses in judgement when overly emotional, but it does not happen often enough to effect his credability as a leader. Despite that, quitting and being regretful is not in his nature, though at first he will be reluctant to admit he's made a mistake. His charasmatic look with his orangish hair and eyes attracts a lot of attention, which he often ignores unless he is approached. Adrian is not known for random violent outbursts, but is extremely efficient in fighting and wastes no time with unnecessary movements or fanciness. Motivation: Adrian joined the military and accended the ranks for one simple reason, and that is his same reason for wanting to end Helena's terror. He wishes to make a difference in the world, to promote righteousness and peace for everyone. This is why Helena must be stopped, for she is the ultimate threat to our peace and our right to exist freely. Biography: Adrian joined the military at a very young age, and excelled through the ranks to become Vanguard Commander. It was his responsbility to lead the front lines into battles and hold nothing back. The scientist Helena of his reality worked closely in conjunction with the military for much of it's scientific conquests. Though he did not know her personally, they were both aware of each other's names because of their importance. Braddack was among the guest of honors at the ceremony during Helena's unvailing of her new machine that would allow for dimensional travel. The presentation went haywire and the incident caused massive destruction to the surrounding area. Adrian tried his best to save as many of his men as he could but came out with a very little number. Managing to escape on some unharmed military airships with other officers and a number of soldiers under the 200 mark, Adrian was later informed by the Major General of the army that his wife had come to the base to suprise him after the ceremony. Adrian pleaded for the ship to be set down but there was no hope of finding any survivors in the debris after the incident came to a conclusion. All 4 ships were brought down by an incredible change in the planet's gravitational pull. Nobody alive knew what was really going on, what Helena's experiment gone wrong was causing to their reality. The ships crashed and there were even fewer survivors. Knocked unconscious, Adrian did not wake until everything had settled down. He awoke within the debris, but to a slightly different atmosphere. Digging himself out he looked for other survivors, but anyone else had either been killed or had run a stray. Upon taking whatever supplies he needed from whatever lasted through the crash, he set out toward the nearest signs of civiliation, which looked nothing like an organized town of any type. It seemed as if the world had regressed as well as transformed. Not 2 miles into his trek, he was attacked by a strange beast with giant horns and a spiked tail. It looked like a cyborg, with metal parts in several area of it's body...it stood nearly 30 feet tall. It was completely unfamiliar to Adrian, he tried to run but it was futile trying to get away from the beast. Coming close to death Adrian drew his sabres and tried desperatley to defend himself. His thoughts were simply on surviving at that point, and he first discovered his ability to move from place to place with incredible speed when dodging out of the way of being nearly stomped on. Adrian looked around him with shock wondering what had just happened. His thoughts focused even more and he found he could do it at will. It was not consistent running super speed, but speed for single steps and leaps. He overcame the giant behemoth by using this instant flash ability to scale the beast and stab it's neck with both sabres, bring it crashing down to the ground. Since this incident Adrian has matured his ability and learned how to time it into perfect evasive and advancing tactics. His ability to manifest fire came after a burning sensation throughout his body, he feared death from exhaustion but after noticing his hand set ablaze, through very similar mental means he put it out because of his desire for it to do so. He matured that ability as well and made it a point to learn about what had happened. He continued searching for population, for answers...and for a new meaning to live...now that he had been bestowed new powers and a second chance at life. - - - - - - - - ooc: The bio is really crappy, i tried to fill up as much as i could but it turned out to be quite narrow. Hope it will suffice until i have the oppurtunity to explain in better detail throughout the RP once it starts. I may change this or that at a later time however.
8. Kyosuke stopped a few feet away from the Headmaster's office, he looked over at Aaron who was looking back at him expecting an answer to his question. Kyosuke figured it to be bad timing to be summoned as he was since he wanted to spend some time getting to know Aaron a little better. Had Sakura been with them she would have recognized right away what Kyosuke was trying to do. She had seen it before, Kyo would try to find out as much about someone as possible so he could gauge their potential and enough of their personality type and abilities to figure out the best way to incorporate them with his plans. He did it everytime their class would undergo major team based exercises or exams in the past, and even a couple of times before spars. Kyosuke was like a psychologist in terms of analyzing the people he spoke to and was good at telling how useful someone would be. He very rarely ever made any actual friends like that though. Kyosuke returned his look toward the Headmaster's office and spoke again. "My apologies for having to cut this short, however I have a meeting with the Headmaster. After it concludes I hope it would be ok if we met again to speak further." "Oh, no problem at all. Hope everything goes well!" Aaron answered. Kyosuke walked away and knocked on the Headmaster's door. Aaron watched him a bit longer then turned and continued back on his way. Kyosuke kept his head down awaiting the answer from behind the door. Something compelled him however, he placed is hand over on the shoulder that still hadn't completely healed for months and yet the soreness had been almost eradicated by Aaron's spell. He didn't want to tell Aaron about the wound he had suffered from the trial, eventhough he figured if it worked wonders on his shoulder it would be a great help to his left side. Kyosuke turned around before Aaron was completely out of sight and called out to him. "Aaron! Again...thank you." He said, feeling the need still for some reason to express his thanks. "Heh, it's like I told you! No thanks neccesary man," Aaron repeated, with a slight smile on his face. The two nodded at each other, as the Headmaster's door opened up before him. "Kyosuke Orias? Well...it's a pleasure to finally meet you face to face! I'm Headmaster Enteri's assistant, Teyla Enteri..." the very young and attractive looking girl said. Kyosuke practically stared in amazement at her, she looked no older then he was. She looked like a student rather then an assistant...she was very cute though. He wondered how she had procured such an important position...that's when he finally took notice to her name. "Enteri...? You mean you're..." "The Headmaster's daughter, yes." she said, giggling as she eyed Kyosuke up and down. "Oh...I didn't know he had a daughter...you look so young i would have mistook you for a student!" Kyosuke said, adjusting his glasses. "Well, I AM a student. I'm in the junior class, right below yours." Teyla responded, moving a bit closer toward Kyosuke. 'She's 16!? No way...' Kyosuke thought to himself. He tried to look over her to see inside the office but the whip of her hair spinning diverted his attention as she spun around with her back now facing him. "Please come this way! The Headmaster and Sage Orias are waiting inside," Teyla exclaimed as she lead the way in. Kyosuke was taken a bit by suprise hearing his father referred to as "Sage Orias". It had been so long since he heard that, not since his last trip with his father to the eastern continent so many years. He was referred to by everyone as Sage...a very powerful and pristigious title. The academy library even had some books written by him on hand for students studying certain elements. But even so, hearing it at that time brought upon notalgic feelings within Kyosuke. Kyosuke followed Teyla as she walked in a sort of cutsey manner which involved wiggling her butt and weaving a pen between her fingers. She stopped short by a door way and spun around to face Kyosuke. "So tell me...what was it like? Going through the trials...all the work involved in becoming a Risk Breaker for that matter," she asked him. "Oh...um...well it was tedious at a few points I suppose...but for the most part it was all rather simple. The trial..." Kyosuke said, ending off with his last word as flashbacks of his trial zipped through his head of him fighting for his life, the type of atmosphere, the anger he felt, the giant Chimerageist his father had summoned on him trying to kill him...everything in contrary to the atmosphere in the Headmaster's office at that time...it seemed hard to believe that outside of a battlefield these students who would become Risk Breakers are capable of such things. He wasn't quite sure how to explain the trials to a junior student...especially one that didn't look like she was cut out for battle at all. Kyosuke went on to continue but a voice came from beyond the doorway distracting him. "Kyosuke! Stop flirting with the Headmaster's daughter and come in here!" his father's voice said. Kyosuke looked inside and saw him standing there, and alongside him was Headmaster Enteri. Kyosuke wore a concerned look on his face and started waving his hands infront of him feverishly trying to dispell what his father had just said, hoping that the Headmaster didn't really think that he was trying to hit on his daughter. "Wha...what!? Don't be silly! I'm doing no such thing! I would ever...it's so disrespectful! I can't believe you would..." "Hahahaha! I'm only kidding son, come on in here now!" his father said again, getting a good laugh at his son's expense. Kyosuke narrowed his eyes and sighed with frustration. His father hadn't changed one bit. He may be a genius and the most talented wizard and alchemist of the two continents, but he acted like a damn child infront of people that he knew. Kyosuke was easily unamused by his father's jokes, and it didn't seem to change much. Kyosuke walked in a bit before turning to Teyla and bowing to her slightly in a gesture of thanks for seeing him in. She put her hand up to her mouth and giggled as she turned and walked away leaving the three of them in privacy. "Headmaster, sir...what is it you have summoned me for" Kyosuke said in an extremely respectable tone, as he bowed to him as well, only much more formally then then the bow he did to Teyla. Kyosuke looked up with his irises though his head was bent. The sight of Headmaster Enteri was the picture of officiality. He was a tall and broad man, someone who looked like he would be a general in the military. He was well groomed and dressed in an expensive suit, someone who truly looked like he commanded the respect and loyalty of many. Kyosuke felt a hand slap his back while he was bowing, he looked over at his father who had a big smile on his face. "I had Aramis call you here so I could talk to you. Afterall you passed out coming out of your trial." his father told him. Kyosuke knew that his father and the Headmaster were close friends and went pretty far back, it was no suprise that he called him by his first name. "Yes, Kyosuke. Your father has something important to tell you before he leaves. Before that however, allow me to congratulate you on passing your trial. I have no doubt that you will excell incredibly as one of this academy's top Risk Breakers." Headmaster Enteri said, as he nodded toward Kyosuke with sincere eyes. Kyosuke was overcome at those words as he bowed his head again and thanked the Headmaster deeply. "Anyway! Son listen, the way I was during your trial...you have to understand that I had to do what was neccesary to truly test you in every way. I love you Kyosuke, I always have...and your mother would be very proud of you as well..." Vidale started to say. Kyosuke lowered his eyes after hearing his mother referred to. There were plenty of times where Kyosuke also wished she was still around. "Your going to do great in your final exam son, but i thought you may be interested in this!" Vidale continued, as he reached out and took Kyosuke's cross in the palm of his hand as it hung around his neck. Kyosuke looked in confusion as his father held his cross, as if he were giving it to him for a second time. "My cross...wait! What was that during the trial? You summoned that beast out of my cross didn't you?" Kyosuke asked, suddenly remembering what had happened in that chamber. "Yes...the power of the Chimerageist. My most prized relic acquisition. After years of research i found a way to reseal it's power into this...the cross...before you left for Argo Arx Acanum. I knew it would one day help you when you got older, i'm happy to say that i know full well that you are worthy of it's power Kyosuke." Kyosuke looked at him wide eyed in suprise, figuring he knew what his father was trying to tell him. "You mean...the Chimerageist..." "Yes Kyosuke, you now control it's power. You are it's new master, and it is your new summon. Call on it at anytime for it's power and it will assist you." his father said, placing both hands on Kyo's shoulders. Kyosuke thought back to the trial and remembered how he beat it. It gave him a huge fight as well as the huge injury he sustained. He remember how it controlled multiple elements at a time, each head and his double snake tail seemed to control each one...he saw an example of every element in attack except for earth. He then remembered what the conditions were for him to beat him, had he not bothered to save the fake Ayame and Sakura. "...Wait a minute...why would I want a summon who could be defeated simply by striking it's chest area?" Kyosuke asked. "Haha! I only made that his weak point for the sake of the battle Kyosuke. It was meant to entice you to take the easy kill, to see if you could be tempted to forsake your friends. Trust me, it is much more difficult to defeat it in actuality...oohhhh....another thing though....he kind of has a bad...well...attitude." Kyosuke raised his eyebrow wondering what his father was trying to say. "Bad...attitude? What do you mean by that?" Kyosuke asked. "Oh...nothing! Don't worry about it son...just know that no matter what, his power is at your disposal. I have made sure of it." his father said, in a not so assuring tone. "But..." "No buts! Everything will be fine! Now, get out of here. Me and Aramis have some other issues to talk about and then i gotta get back to Archadia." Kyosuke nodded and was about to turn around, when his father once again stopped him. "Oh! By the way...those two girls from your mind in the trial...which one is your girlfriend?" his father asked, leaning in and giving him a few winking gesture. "What!? What are you talking about...neither! I mean...we're friends..." "Oh please! Don't try to fool your old man...i bet it's the one with the short brown hair...shes a real cutey! You lucky dog you....or wait! Is it the one with purplish hair? She's real pretty, you better look after her! Hey, is that the Sakura you always used to write home about? Hm, your really popular with the ladies here aren't you!?" Kyosuke fumed inside at how his father was endlessly trying to embarrass him. He gave his final bow and stormed out of the room without answering. His father got a good laugh and turned his attention to Headmaster Enteri. "Hehe...he's a good kid. It was really good seeing him again...and i'm rather glad i didn't have to kill him! Hahaha!" Vidale said as he and Headmaster Enteri enjoyed a drink with each other. Kyosuke passed by Teyla as he opened the door to his office, he was prompty stopped though by her grabbing his arm. "Hey...maybe after you guys take the finals...i'll see you at the dance afterwards!" she said giving him a sexy wink. "Oh...uh...s, sure! I'll see ya there...Teyla." Kyosuke said a bit embarrased by her advances, as well as fearful for her father walking out to see him. He frantically tried to pull himself away from her, as she finally let go and saw him out with a little wave. Kyosuke waved back and walked a little faster toward the elevator. Kyosuke thought to himelf intently about what his father told him about the cross. He was curious to know how to handle it properly. He was hoping he'd get an oppurtunity to try it out before the actual final. He then remembered that he wanted to catch up with Aaron, as well as needing to get his official release from Nurse Mallon...and he wanted to look for Ayame as well to check on her. He was still a bit worried about when she ran out of the infirmary. He figured he had a lot to do and put off his Chimerageist test run for another time. ooc: Yep, Kyosuke has a new summon now. Can't wait to start writing some scenes about that...hehe. ooc2: Sorry bout the short interaction at the beggining Acheron, the whole idea was for it to be poorly timed though. I sent you a PM with more details.

Wish I Had an Angel also happens to be my favorite song from them (I got a lot of #1 favorites on this little shuffle expedition). I'm still looking for more similar bands to them, i'm really into their music. Other favorites are Everdream, Phantom of the Opera, and She is my Sin. -I'm a fan of Linkin Park so that's what made me DL Fort Minor stuff. Most of it is pretty good, Believe me is also my top favorite from them. -Bohemian Rahpsody just happens to be one of my all time top favorite songs, simple as that. -Disturbed has been a long time favorite band, Ten Thousand Fists is on the list along with most of their older stuff.
10. Ill finish up what i need to do with the headmaster post tonight. Just got a few things i need to include, but if you want to start it earlier i can always make it a flashback during an exam post.
11. Hm, well I can actually respond to this thread now since i know quite a few people :P. So let's see, my list: -Kitty - She's probably my very first friend on OB, the first one i had PM convos with and the first one i IMed. She's one of the sweetest people i've ever had the pleasure of talking to and one of my favorite people to RP with. She's also known as MLR (she knows what it means :P). Revey = teh awesomeness :D (and her chibi doodles rule too) -Sakura - Also one of my first friends from OB who i enjoy speaking to via IM, as well as my unofficial OB history teacher. She got me reading the old OB Survivor and told me about all the good ol days before my time :P. She's also another great RPer who i'm looking forward to doing many more with. -Keyblade Wielder - Another awesome person to talk to, and the first person to express appreciation for my RPing  She's also my fave gfx maker on OB, and my hawaiin tour guide :P. Looking forward to more RPs with her as well. There are a few other people that i'm interested in getting to know more about so until then i won't put them down so i won't have a short little section only saying "I wanna meet him/her because they seem cool". Don't wanna make anyone feel unimportant :P.
12. Kyosuke barely made it out the door, but he was determined to get to his dorm room to atleast change back into his school uniform. It took 5 minutes for him to get there, but he did make it. Kyo tossed off the infirmary's robe and started to change into his uniform. He was relieved that he chose not to wear the normal uniform to his trial. He sat down on his bed and hunched over still in a good amount of pain. He started to regret leaving as early as he did but he needed to be prepared as early as possible for the final. In Kyosuke's mind, that involved getting his team on the same page as quick as possible and clearing is mind rather than heal his body. "Ugh...you would think with magic there would be no pain either..." Kyosuke mumbled to himself as he stood up. He walked over to the door but before he could open it back up, the door swung open and Sakura and Kyosuke were just able to avoid a near collision. "Oh! Um...hiya...i figured you might have come here first." Sakura said, feeling a bit embarrased that she almost ran into him. "Sakura? You shouldn't be up, hows your arm?" Kyosuke asked, obviously concerned. "Ha, your one to talk. I got clearence from Nurse Mallon to leave, you on the other hand need more rest. But, i know your not going to listen so I figured i'd come and at least give you this" Sakura said, handing something to Kyosuke. Kyo took it from her hand and looked at it, it was a vial of ointment that she took from the infirmary to numb the pain of open wounds. "Wow, this will really help actually...i wonder why Nurse Mallon held out on me." "Well...it's really best if you let it fully heal instead of fooling yourself about it...but like I said...you're not gonna listen to me" Sakura replied with a smile on her face. Kyosuke wasted no time figuring the ointment would make it bearable to atleast walk. Kyo flung his jacket off and pulled his shirt off revealing a very well toned body. Sakura widened her eyes a bit suprised at the shape Kyosuke was in. She knew that he had to be in good shape with all the working out and training involved in becoming a risk breaker, but it was rather deceptive from the way he looked with clothes on. But then again, the male school uniforms weren't really designed to hug the body. Kyosuke's wound looked almost completely healed, that was thanks to the magic. The pain on the other hand still pretty much had to be handled with medicine. He applied the ointment as Sakura couldn't help but stare at him, enjoying the sight. She felt kind of embarrased but wanted to avoid making a scene by turning around or closing her eyes...not to mention she didn't want to. She tried to control her body as best as she could but she was clearly turned on. It was nice even with the wound.'Oh man...does he have to do this now? and we're alone in his room....ack! What am I thinking?' she thought to herself as she snapped out of it and looked up only to be startled by Kyosuke who was finished applying and looking down at her rosey red cheeks. "Ah! Hi! Is...something wrong?" Sakura asked hastily, as her cheeks got redder. "No...you just look a little worried...is everything ok?" Kyosuke said, putting his shirt back on. Sakura shook her head wildly trying to dispell any misunderstandings Kyo had about her. Kyo put his jacket back on and suddenly took notice to the floor near the doorway, behind Sakura's feet. "Hm? What's this." Kyosuke said, walking over and picking it up. He opened the white envelope and noticed the stationary from Headmaster Enteri's office. He figured it must have fell out of his room's mailbox, and read everything carefully figuring it might be something important. "Oh...i didn't even see that. What is it?" Sakura asked, adjusting her skirt. "A letter from Headmaster Enteri...It looks like anything else will have to wait. I've been summoned to his office." Kyosuke said in a low tone, his eyes focused on the letter. "Summoned? It must be really important...you didn't do anything wrong did ya?" Sakura said in a joking tone. "Hehe, no...nothing like that. I have to take care of this though..." "Oh! I'll come too...." "I should go alone...sorry. I'll probably stop by the infirmary afterwards though...I need to get official clearence from Nurse Mallon to be up and about anyway...she probably already knows that i didn't go to the bathroom." Kyosuke said, cutting Sakura off. Sakura frowned a bit but quickly changed her expression to she didn't give off any vibes. "Ok..." she said softly. "Oh...if you see Aaron...tell him that I want to speak with him. ok?" Kyosuke told Sakura, as he walked out of his room toward the elevator. Sakura went to respond but he was already gone. She always seemed to end up watching him leave her. She wondered why Kyosuke was so secretive about the letter though, what was it about? Why did he want to go alone? She sat down on his bed and layed on his pillow as she drifted into thought.
13.
Thanks for starting this thread, Aaryana; this topic had to come to light here. I don't see how anyone with a heart could argue that this method of brutally slaying dogs can be justified. I mean, look at this: Look at that sick bastard having fun twirling the stick. That poor dog didn't stand a chance. The dog probably throught he was in for a grand game of fetch before the brutal clubbing ensued. Simply awful. Some of you insist that cheaper is better, but my stance is that if China does not have a humane method of dealing with this problem, they should find one before taking such harsh action. But, I do not believe that is the case. China is fully capable of dealing with this problem in a better way, but instead they choose to take the easy, albeit cruel way out. Beating any living creature to death with a stick is one of the most savage, primal, and sadistic measures one could resort to. Also, let's not forget that "dog" spelled backwards is "god." So, in short:
All well said. I couldn't agree more. As for that picture it made me sick to my stomach. Another reason it's so rediculous...when dogs are put to sleep for reasons that aren't inhumane it is done discreetly and with injections to ease their pain by putting them to sleep (meaning death) BECAUSE they are extremely sick and in pain. Those choices alone are hard enough as well despite it being the best choice for the dog's well being. What the hell is with this beating the dog with a stick crap? It's completely unnceccesary and demented. This dosn't do much justice for an argument against this being for some kind of sick game.
14. The key thing here is they believe it to be the cheapest way of going about this problem. There are many other ways of going about this, and yes it costs money but because of the way dogs are seen i guess they feel it's unneccesary. Dogs do not provide us with life sustaining materials like other animals which are killed for them and still therefore considered useful and important such as cows, chickens, sheep, etc etc. So i suppose in the eyes of many that makes it ok, but it sickens me to my stomach. I'm a dog lover and it may seem biased, but it isn't devoid of logic either. A lot has already been said in this thread about better methods, and i agree with them all but the key factor here is that this method is not only the cheapest but the easiest as well. No hassle, no harm to us, it's a win/win situation for humans regardless of how they approach it because if done right, money invested into the establishment of vaccination clinics as well as the vaccine itself whether it be through domestic means or international will ultimatley prove to solve the problem and create a drastic decrease in mortality rates due to rabies from dogs. There is no consideration what so ever in a decision like this concerning the lives of the dogs, and people may say "so what" and not understand where i'm coming from but i see it as a big problem. Then people say that humans are more important then dogs so when i make a comment like "Well why don't we just mass murder all of the STD carriers so they can't run the risk of spreading it" people will say to me "But they are still human, and it is important that we take preventative measure that are humane"...makes sense, sure (note: i am not in favor of killing off all STD carriers for the aforementioned scenario, i am simply against both but making a comparison to a similar situation). But the reasoning most of the time for that to be acceptable is because animals are more expendable then humans are, and therefore as we have strict laws against violence and killing toward humans it seems to be fine against animals. In response to that, if you ask me, humans deserve the violence they receive much more often than animals do. Humans commit acts which induce a justified karma in theory and give reasons for retribution. Animals aside from those needed for in order for us to live on a normal basis are arbitrarily hurt and killed for the fun of it or because they are seen as inferior...it's no different from genocide. In this case it may be a preventative measure, but it might as well be an excuse for killing 2 birds with one stone rather then taking another measure that would still benefit the human race on the other hand, minus the contraversey caused by this disgusting act. Again, i am not devoid of seeing the purpose in this and i know many people will agree with this method and not give a second thought to the mass murder part. Again as well, i am a dog lover and that is where the motivation for this rant comes from. I couldn't disagree with what's going on here, more than i already do. My apologies if by some way, somehow...dunno how...i offended anyone.
15. This has my interest as well, i look forward to elaboration. This will also save me the trouble of finding a good picture to go with my char as well.
16. Lazarus walked away toward Ayame's bedside, Kyosuke watched with disdain as he was unable to muster the strength to say anything after Lazarus's request of him. Sakura looked over as Kyosuke clearly had an annoyed look on his face. "What nerve! He speaks as if he knows what is best, simply because he walked out of his trial uninjured. If he wishes to pass the final then he better start learning how to listen to me." Kyosuke said, fighting through the pain enough to finally adjust himself so he could see over the main desk. "Kyosuke, don't let that kind of stuff bother you now. It may be unfortunate for you, but you have to work together." Sakura said. Havok nodded in agreement. "She's right. First worry about healing up, then you can worry about the rest of your team." "Hm, that's easy for you to say. You don't have to worry about any of your squad members..." Kyosuke answered back. "Well, I guess so...but I will probably have to put up with Carrot's attitude!" Havok said in a joking way. Havok stopped laughing and looked down at Sakura and Kyosuke who look like they've been pointing behind him for some time now. Havok put two and two together and realized what had just happened. "Boy! You are LUCKY you aren't injured! But I can change that if you really want!" Carrot said in a slightly angry tone as she grabbed Havok by his ear and dragged him out of Kyosuke and Sakura's room. Sakura giggled a bit, but then looked over at Kyosuke who still had a determined and upset look on his face. "Kyo...I..." "Don't worry about me... Sakura. We promised each other we would become Risk Breakers...I won't do anything to void that." Kyosuke said, cutting Sakura off. He knew she was worried that he would do something irrational, but he was determined to make the best out of the conditions. Kyosuke whipped off his blanket and forced his body to turn so his legs were hanging off the bed. Sakura saw this and tried to move but she hurt herself by attempting to pull her arm away from the sling. "Kyosuke! What are you doing? You shouldn't get up..." Sakura said, feeling helpless because she herself could not get up yet. "I'm going to go speak with Aaron. That is all...i'll be back." Kyosuke said, as he stood on his feet, but quickly stumbled over. He caught himself on Sakura's bedside, his hand crushing across her arm and her hand gripping onto his. Kyosuke looked up at Sakura who was already gazing into Kyo's eyes. She hadn't seen them without his glasses on in a while. Kyo brought his hand brushing down sakura's arm as the feeling sent chills up her spine, Kyosuke as well noticed how soft her skin was. It felt good against his own, but he tried his best to catch his balance so he could stand on his own. Sakura wanted to move so badly but even the good parts of her body froze up. Kyosuke stood straight and with gritted teeth and closed fists he forced himself to fight through the pain and move. "Um...just...tell Nurse Mallon that I went to the bathroom, will ya?" Kyosuke said to Sakura, suddenly realizing that Nurse Mallon would probably beat him senseless if she found out Kyosuke was walking around against her will. ooc: attack of the short lengthed posts! Acheron feel free to take off from here if you want, lets get Kyosuke and Aaron some interaction so they can get ready to conquer the final.
17. Infirmary post-trial: Caught in the middle - - - - - - - - Kyosuke lied in his bed, staring in shock at Sakura and Ayame. He couldn't understand what had gotten into both of them, but he figured the trials must have had something to do with it. After all, his trial was intended to torture him emotionally, he figured the others must have faced similar challenges. "Kyosuke! I feel so terrible! I...i don't know how it happened..." Ayame pleaded, feeling as if she needed to regain his trust. "The both of you need to stop this..." Kyosuke said in the loudest voice he could manage in his condition. "I don't know what happened with either of your trials...but none of it has any effect on any of the 12 of us unless it was our own personal trial. I saw you both there in mine as well...my fath...i mean...they were nothing but fakes..." "I know...it just seemed so real...I saw her try to kill you!" Sakura said, pointing at Ayame. "I...tried to k...kill Kyosuke in YOUR trial? But why? I could never..." "I know it wasn't you! But...did you say you killed him in YOUR trial?" Sakura asked, interuppting Ayame. "N..no! I mean...yes...but i don't remember anything about it..." Ayame said, as she sunk to her knees with tears in her eyes. She had never felt so scared and insecure before. She really didn't remember anything before smashing the shape shifter's head in with her sledgehammer as he wore Kyosuke's face. What scared her the most is knowing that she would never do anything to hurt Kyosuke...yet despite that something drove her to do what she did. "Ayame..." "I'm sorry!" Ayame yelled, cutting Kyosuke off as she took off running as far as her strength could take her. On the way out of the main door of the infirmary she tripped and landed at the feet of another student. She looked up to see Carrot looking down at her. Carrot saw the tears in Ayame's eyes and was taken a bit by suprise at first...she knew Ayame had injured though and her role as a support magic user began to take over. "Ayame! What are you doing? You can't be running around like that in your condition..." Carrot said, helping her up off the ground. "I...I just need to be alone right now..." Ayame said, trying to wipe her tears away. "I'm sorry, but you can have your time alone as long as it's in the infirmary's bed. Come on...Ayame." Carrot said, feeling a bit sorry for her but making sure she layed down the law at the same time. Ayame lied back down in her bed where Daiya had just woken up. The spirit cat looked over at Ayame and was about to speak before he noticed how bloodshot her eyes were, and the frightful look she had on her face. He simply waked over to her and cuddled up to her face in an attempt to comfort her. Back with Kyosuke and Sakura, Nurse Mallon had overheard what happened and walked through their curtains. "My, what's with all the rukus? The both of you are way too hurt to be making such noise." "Sorry Nurse Mallon, we were just...trying to talk things out..." Sakura said, trying to convince her. Nurse Mallon gave them both serious looks as if to say "Pipe down and get better". Kyosuke tried to sit himself up, but was shot back down by the pain from his injured side. Sakura looked over with a worrysome look on her face. "Kyo...just relax. You have to heal up...I couldn't believe the injury you sustained when i watched them pull you out of the chamber..." Sakura said in a soft tone. "You...were there?" Kyosuke asked, not remembering a thing since he was passed out shortly after his father revealed the workings of his trial. "Yes...i came straight from my trial...I'm so glad you're alright." Sakura said, as she adjusted herself in her bed. Kyosuke looked over at her and it just hit him that there must have been a reason Sakura was laying next to him in an infirmary bed herself. He noticed her arm up in a sling and all wrapped up. "Sakura! Your arm...what happened?" Kyosuke asked suprised to see her injured. "Oh this? Heh...I guess you could say Ayame did this to me. In my trial...i was fighting her trying to save your life...it was her...and my mother..." Sakura tried to explain, but found it difficult to want to recall. "These illusions...the academy is more than proficient in those arts. They were all so life like..." Kyosuke said as he went to push his glasses up, but noticed that they weren't on him. He looked around but couldn't find them...he figured it made sense that Nurse Mallon was keeping them for safe keeping while he rested. "Kyo...Can i ask you something?" Sakura asked rhetorically. "During your trial...did you ever question whether...it was worth it? I mean...half of the students who took these trials ended up in here with injuries. Even you and I...not only that but everyone must have gone through some sort of mental torture. What...are they trying to do to us?" Kyosuke wasn't surprised that Sakura felt that way as well. He felt that way quite a few times, especially when his father told him that his friend's only purpose was to die for his success. "This is what we have to endure...we can't say we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into when we enrolled to become risk breakers. But i understand what you mean...it is a little disheartning." Kyosuke said. Suddenly both students looked up as two more people walked past their curtain, they recognized them both. It was Havok and Rinoa, they had come to visit. "Oh man...Nurse Mallon wasn't kidding, are you two alright?" Havok said, noticing the serious injured Kyosuke and Sakura had sustained. "Heh...this is nothing...i'll be on my feet in no time" Kyosuke said again trying to sit up, and again was forced back down with a painful expression on his face. Rinoa wore a very concerned look on her face, but Sakura made eye contact with her, as if trying to ease her worries. Rinoa ran over to Sakura's bed and she hugged her as tight as she could without hurting her. Havok walked beside Kyosuke's bed and knelt down. "Havok...did you and Rinoa pass?" Kyosuke asked. "Yeah, we did alright. I also heard that Carrot, Alex, and Lazarus passed. I havn't seen anyone else yet." Havok responded. "By the way, when we came in we saw Carrot helping Ayame to a bed, she looked really upset about something...is she ok?" Rinoa asked, breaking from her private conversating with Sakura. "Ayame...i should go check on her..." Kyosuke said, trying to move for the third time. This time he was pushed back down by Havok. "Didn't work the first time, don't think it's going to the second." he said, as Kyosuke was too weak to fight back. Sakura looked over at Kyosuke after hearing him voice his worry about Ayame. She couldn't believe that she still felt jealous at the mention of her name...she thought back to the short verbal squabble they had moments ago...she couldn't believe it happened. It was so uncharacteristic for her, but after what she experienced she chalked it up to the uncertainty that she felt. She didn't want Kyosuke to check on her, she felt horrible for feeling that way too knowing how unfair it was...but she also felt that she wanted so much more time to talk with him about everything that had gone on. Rinoa stood up and walked over to the curtain, and turned to them. "I'll go and check up on her...Havok will stay here with you guys and make sure you behave" she said with a giggle, trying to lighten up the mood. The room got quiet for a few seconds, before Kyosuke and Sakura came to common realization. "Hey! Do you still have your cross!?" "Hey! Do you still have your pendant!?" they said at the same time. Havok had a confused look on his face, as he backed away a bit from the harmonizing of their voices. He peered at both of their necks and answered for them. "You both have your...jewelery...what was with that weird scene?" he asked in confusion. "Ahh...nothing..." was the common reply again. "Oook...by the way, what you guys think of the squads?" Havok said, changing the subject. "Squads? You mean for the final exam? I didn't know they were announced." Kyosuke said. "You were still out...they split us into groups of 3..." Sakura said. "Your with Lazarus, Blaize, and Aaron....Sakura is with Rinoa, Carrot and myself." Havok explained. "Lazarus...that figures. Aaron...he's the supporter right?" Kyosuke asked. "Yes...one of the best in the academy. It's good that he's on your squad." Havok answered, "...and Blaize...i believe i've heard his name before. I'm not familiar with him though." Kyosuke continued. "Ehh...you may not be too excited about working with him...but hey you gotta do what you gotta do." Havok said with a shrug. Kyosuke contemplated his team, wondering how it was decided. He looked forward to working with Aaron Corvais...but wasn't as excited of his other two teammates...even despite not completely knowing who Blaize was. 18. Kyosuke's Trial: The Conclusion - - - - - - - - The area directly around Kyosuke began to grow very cold in temperature. Vidale Orias looked on as he witnessed his son's incredible technique with elemental control. Kyosuke screamed out and created a small ice barrier infront of him, as well as spreading the frost in the air all throughout the room. Vidale nodded toward the Chimerageist, and he took action. Kyosuke motioned with two fingers in a waving position while concealed behind the barrier, he then looked forward expecting the Chimerageist to try to burn through the barrier. 'It ends now...i'll have it both ways whether you like it or not...father.' Kyosuke thought to himself, as he began to concentrate the frost closer to the ground now. The Chimerageist charged forward, stopped short and lunged a giant fireball from his left hand at the ice shield, shattering and melting it at the same time. The barrier was now gone, but...Kyosuke was nowhere to be found. The chimerageist looked around him but was unable to locate him. Vidale just smiled to himself, 'you've become quite fast as well as smart, my son...but your decision still must be made!'. The chimerageist let out a roar and tried to move his feet, but was unable to. It looked down and saw his feet up to ankles completely encased in ice. Kyosuke had concentrated the frost toward the ground in order to root the beast in it's place. Still surrounded by frosted particles in the air, it charged up it's hand again to melt his way out before the atmosphere would render it impossible. It raised it's hand to begin the flame but it was promptly wrapped in a shackle of ice by Kyosuke who sped by using the frost as his smoke screen. Kyosuke attached the other end of the ice shackle encasing the beast's whole fist to the library shelve, now rendering his fire making arm as well as his legs useless. Kyosuke stopped moving and just stood there staring at the beast as it was rooted in place. "It won't be long now...even your body must not be able to withstand this kind of temperature for too long...i think i'll leave you there for the time being." Kyosuke said in a cocky tone, realizing he had cut off the Chimerageist's major mobility and slowed the heads down with the heavy concentration of frost. The beast shook and cracked enough ice around his middle head to reveal that it could speak. "Vidale! Release me from this prison if you wish me to eliminate this child!" it screamed up to it's summoner. Vidale merely stood there and did nothing. The Chimerageist grew angry and went to speak again, but Kyosuke beat him to the punch. "Father! Are you watching? This...is my decision." Kyosuke said, as he concentrated the frost heavy on the chains of the captive Ayame and Sakura, diverting it from the area of the Chimerageist. Vidale watched in suprise, wondering what his son was trying to accomplish. Kyosuke then extended his hand out toward the beast his father had summoned on him and created up to 3 ice portals to surround it. Kyo's father's eyes grew large as he realized that Kyosuke was indeed making his choice. He grinned, and soon anticipated his son impaling the summoned creature with his Barrage of Icy Death spell. "Boy...have you got the stomach to make this decision?" the Chimerageist taunted. "If killing this beast to become a risk breaker is choice A, and saving my friends and failing is choice B....then i choose choice C." Kyosuke said, as he squeezed his hand and the chains holding up his captive friends shattered thanks to the ice's encasement. The platforms with Ayame and Sakura fell backwards off the island, as they plummeted to the death that would have been theirs at the hands of Kyosuke's father. Vidale wore a confused look, thinking to himself 'What? I never expected to him take his friend's death into his own hand...what are you trying to do here Kyosuke?' Kyosuke looked up at his father and spoke again. "Now you lack the control over their lives....father...and i will still defeat this monster and become a risk breaker!" he shouted. "Haha, you must not realize what you've done...your friends are already dead! It matters not if I have control over their lives now. Now finish the task." his father shouted back. "Gladly." Kyosuke said, as he stretched out his left arm toward the Chimerageist, and motioned with his right hand with his fingers waving upwards. On the right hand's signal, Kyosuke's Fenghuang rose up from the cliff with Ayame and Sakura riding safely on top of it. Vidale and the summoned beast both gasped, but it was too late as Kyosuke's left hand initiated the spell, as the three portals shot out razor sharp icicles impaling the Chimerageist in nearly every part of his body, including the circle on it's chest. The beast fell from his icy shackled, looking like a pin cushion. Kyosuke looked up at his father, who wore an unprepared look for what had just happened. "Both deeds have been done. You failed to specify whether or not i could accomplish both, but since both the beasts's life and my friend's lives are in my hands now...I'd say i'm calling the shots. A Risk Breaker does his job without any distractions, this is true. But a Risk Breaker as talented and skilled as I am, finishes the task and protects his allies as well. The code of the Risk Breaker says Strength, Loyalty, and Death before Dishonor. Accomplish thy task, honor thy ally, Risk Breakers fear not adversity. I have done what is needed of me." "Hehehehe...excellent work. You really have taken control with your own hands my son...do tell me how you managed this plan of yours?" "The ice barrier simply acted as a distraction so i could set Fenghuang up in position" Kyosuke stated to say, referring to the motion he made with his fingers right after putting the barrier up. "The next part was easy, i simply hid by hanging off of an icicle i made off the edge of the cliff until the Chimerageist was fully rooted. I then neutralized his fire casting arm and slowed all other movements with the frosted air. I set him up for the kill shot as i put Ayame and Sakura in safe hands where my summon was waiting." Vidale melted the remaining ice with his outstretched hand and returned the Chimerageist to the cross around Kyo's neck. He smiled as the illusion dissapeared, leaving only himself and Sakura and Ayame. "Very good. It's not official coming from me, Kyosuke but you've passed your trial" his father said, smiling down at his son. The door opened up on the other side as Instructor Uzume walked in. "It's official now, that was quite exhilirating to watch Kyosuke...you've passed." Instructor Uzume said. "Wait...what's going on here...the illusion is gone. What are my father, Ayame, and Sakura still doing here?" Kyosuke asked in confusion. "Hehe, we called in a special favor for your trial Kyosuke." Instructor Uzume answered. "Wha...what? So...he's really..." "Kyosuke, who else would know how to extract the power of that cross other then myself?" Vidale said, putting a grin on his face. Kyosuke's eyes got wider with shock. He hadn't seen his father or even spoken to his father in almost 8 years. He couldn't believe that he was standing right before him. "I must apologize for all that i've said during the trial...it was to test you thoroughly. I had faith the whole time, but i have to admit you had me scared there with your injury. The conditions were very real, had things not gone so well...it was possible for you to die in there." Kyosuke quickly looked down at his side and noticed the injury that was still there. It had stopped hurting momentarily because of the intense cold from his tactic, but it didn't change the fact that it was a very deep gash that still had not completely stopped bleeding. "I completely...forgot..." Kyosuke began to say as the realization almost acted as an activation for the injury's long term effect. Kyosuke uncontrollably fell to his knees, but caught himself with his hands. "Speaking of which! We should get that healed right away..." Instructor Uzume said as she motioned for the infirmary's staff to enter. "Wait! I'm not going anywhere yet...Ayame...and Sakura....they didn't..." "Again, my apologies Kyosuke. I replicated the ingredients that make up most of the human blood...afterall you don't need to be a savvy alchemist to get a hold of water." "Smart ass..." Kyosuke thought to himself. "I made it seem as if these dummies were as human like as possible, complete with blood and everything. The only things that were illusions was the terrain. But even in effect they are as tangible as humans are. You know that already Kyosuke." Vidale continued. "Then...the pendant...and the bracelet...?" Kyosuke asked, pulling them out of his inside jacket pocket. "Replicas...again...transforming metals is probably the easiest task for someone like me." Kyosuke's father explained again. It seemed like it was a solid plan from day 1. Kyo knew that his father was good friends with Headmaster Enteri, but he never expected him to take such a large role in his trial. Kyosuke felt relief, even still figuring the whole time that they weren't real...it was nice to have it confirmed. Kyo's thoughts began to fade as the blood loss was seriously getting to him. "Hurry!" Instructor Uzume yelled as the infirmary staff now began to load a 80% unconscious Kyosuke onto a stretcher. "I was able...to...showcase my skills infront of my father...I wonder if...he's proud..." were Kyosuke's last thoughts before fading out completley. "ooc: Trial complete, didn't come out as well as i had hoped but i don't think it's too bad :P."
19. If you liked Outlaw Star and Hellsing, chances are you'll like Trigun. It's a great series with similar aspects with a lot of great comedy and action. Lot of great characters if you give them a chance, takes more focus then usual to see the depth in a lot of their personalities. Another reccomendation based on the same group would be Gungrave. If you haven't seen anything from Naruto, you should atleast watch up to atleast episode 138 (or whenever the RS arc ends, it slips my mind atm). Naruto is one of the best animes for character variation mixed with great action. Bleach as well is awesome for it's characters. It's hard to say which one is better, because they both offer a great variety, but in different fashions. I see your big into mech animes, but i can't really reccomend any other besides the ones you have listed, you pretty much have the best ones watched already.
20. Kyosuke's Trial Part 2: Father and Son - - - - - - - - The towering Chimerageist...it was his father's prized and most powerful summon. He spent years researching it, and it seemed to have been sealed away within the cross Kyosuke wore. But would that be information that anyone would know? Would his father divulge such secrets? Did this mean that...no, it had to be an illusion...why would his father be here? Why would his father put Kyosuke's friends in such danger just to prove how good Kyosuke is? "It's very simple actually Kyosuke! I've marked the Chimerageist's chest with an alchemic circle, strike it there hard enough and you will defeat it. Saving your friends would be a much harder task, and for no reward at all since it will mean your failure." His father explained. Kyosuke was still having trouble accepting the situation, he could have sworn that it would all have just been an illusion...but why did everything feel so real? What about Ayame and Sakura's posessions he held in his hands. Kyosuke stood with a pained look on his face as he materialized a giant icicle on his hand in a matter of seconds. He looked toward the Chimerageist and narrowed his eyes. "You think you're making a decision? Perhaps you still don't believe how real this is...allow me to show you." Vidale Orias said as he materialized his own Icicle and threw it toward Ayame as it sliced threw the skin on her arm. From the wound blood began to flow, kyosuke saw this and became extremely concerned. "N...no...it can't be real..." Kyosuke told himself again. "By all means, if you still do not believe they are real...why not go over to them and touch them. See how real they are, but be careful not to fail your trial." Kyosuke figured it was worth a shot, since technically the conditions were he would only lose if he freed them. Kyosuke reacted quickly and threw the icicle he formed at the Chimerageist's head, but it was quickly incincerated by a stream of fire from it's left head. Kyosuke took advantage of the oppurtunity and ran as fast as he could toward the island. Kyosuke made it to the edge and leaped over but was quickly batted backwards by the Chimerageist's large paw. Kyosuke tumbled on the ground rolling right into a tree. "Arg!...how fast is that thing?!" Kyosuke said, gripping his left side. Kyosuke looked up and saw the beast running toward him again. Kyosuke struggled to move out of the way. The Chimerageist rammed hard into the tree, breaking it in half as Kyosuke barely managed to roll out of the way. "Not going to make it easy for me eh? Well that's fine. I can mess this thing up fine without killing it. Fenghuang!" Kyosuke said, motioning for Fenghuang to missle himself into the Chimerageist. The menifested spirit of Fenghuang engulfed himself in blue flames and barreled toward the beast's heads. Kyosuke again took the oppurtunity to run toward the island, but the Fenghuang as promptly whipped out of the air by one of the snake tails. Fenghuang recovered himself and managed to graze a leg burning it slightly. The Chimerageist stumbled slightly but formed a ball of ice in his right hand and flung it toward Kyosuke's legs. "Looks like i'll make it this time..." Kyosuke said as he reached the edge again, only to have his leg taken out by the ball of ice. Kyo fell backwards and rolled a bit while gripping his left knee. He tried to refrain from expressing his pain outwardly, he couldn't believe the extent his supposed father was going through just to simply keep him away from the island where his friends were being held. Kyosuke tried to stand but his leg gave out and he fell, his face caressing the wet ground. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed what the liquid was they he was laying in. He placed his finger in it and lifted it up to see his own blood. 'This...is....an illusion?...No...they can't be...' he thought to himself as he noticed the wound on his left side from being tossed into the tree. He began to breathe heavier as he realized that this entire trial was more then just a simple illusion. Kyosuke slowly brought himself to his feet, wondering what he should do. Was the academy really this cold-hearted? Is what his father told him true? What if his purpose really was to become a risk breaker at the expense of his friends...if that were true he couldn't possibly let Sakura or Ayame die. Kyosuke's train of thought was interuppted by the Chimerageist breathe steaming down his neck from behind him. Kyosuke froze up not knowing what to do, he reached his hand back as quick as he could and grabbed hold of his chakram but was swatted away again. Kyosuke stabbed his chakram into the ground to try and slow himself down, he detached them and threw the one not being used for an anchor toward the Chimerageist's head. Kyosuke stood up but saw the bottom middle head create a giant gust of wind, blowing the chakram back toward his way. Kyosuke pulled the other one out of the ground in time to deflect it away. He looked down to see he was still bleeding profusely from his side. 'Why would they do this? This dosn't make any sense...we all trained to hard for years for this...what is the point of turning half of us into sacraficial lambs! If this is what it means to be a Risk Breaker...do I really want to become one?...no...i can't just simply give up either! I have to do this for my own legacy...I have to prove that I can do something useful with all that i've worked hard to achieve!...UGH....' Kyosuke thought to himself, as the pain began to set in. "Kyosuke, do you not see how simple your task is!? What kind of risk breaker will you make if you cannot even defeat this beast. Why insist on saving these two?" "This....this isn't right! How can you force me to choose between my friends and passing this trial!?" "That question alone is proof enough that you are not ready to be a risk breaker! You must look at both of them as hindrances and not allies!" "They aren't just allies to me! They are my friends! They are both important to me! As are the others...I would never sacrafice any of them for my own sake!" "Hahaha, how mature of you! But unnceccesary i'm afraid, I know you feel much more strongly for these two...that is why they are here. If you can overcome your foolish need for them your legacy will be within your grasp...don't you understand?" "I won't do it...you won't force me to..." Kyosuke tried to regain his composure as he once again began to start manipulating the particles of air around him. "I'll show you what MY solution to this is!" Kyosuke yelled as he fought off the pain he felt for the sake of his concentration. 21. Kyosuke's Trial: The prodigy faced with a decision - - - - - - - - Kyosuke walked into the main room which contained the giant double doors that would lead to his trial. Kyosuke focused on everything he trained in the past 4 years specifically in preparation for there trials as well as the final exam. He wondered what would await him inside, not a fan of being hesitant Kyosuke walked up to the doors, and pushed them open. A bright light consumed him as he walked in, but as the doors closed behind him the room went completely dark. Kyosuke looked around him but saw only black. He took a few steps forward and still staring straight was like staring into a starless night sky. Kyosuke became doubtful that he was to be truely challenged, but kept his hands on his chakram so he would not be taken by surprise. Kyosuke spent minutes just wandering with nothing happening, he was very patient, but grew bored easily. Finally, from the darkness came a voice that addressed him. "So, you've made it." the voice said. Kyosuke stopped in his tracks and pulled his chakram off of his back. He looked around for some signs of light or anything that may help figure out where the voice came from. "This is your will...is it not? Once you pass this trial, surely you intend to pass the final exam...then you will become a risk breaker. Is this...how you wish to create your own legacy?" the voice said again. Kyosuke narrowed his eyes, and felt a faintly familiar tone to the voice. Faintly familiar began to evolve into familiar. "Theres no way..." Kyosuke said to himself, still looking around him. "Is this your way of upholding the Orias family name? Or is this simply your narcissistic way of fortifying a perfect balance?" the voice continued. "Perfect balance...what are you talking about? Where are you?" Kyosuke said again, not able to shake off the feeling that he knows the voice well by it's sound. "You are so self-absorbed. Eversince you joined the academy you looked down on everyone else secretly, and outwardly to many others. Is it their fault they lack your natural inclinations? You were smart enough to realize what it took to mature the balance...even the shadow that reflects the opposition your self. Your mind has an incredible capacity Kyosuke...but what is your purpose here!?" Kyosuke grew slightly annoyed as he pulled his summoning magi out and called out his faithful spirit. "Fenghuang! Come forth!" Kyosuke yelled, as the massive spirit of his Fenghuang bird eminated from the magi and took form before his eyes. It's wingspan was nearly triple that of a normal Fenghuang, as it served for adequate travel it also served well for what Kyosuke had called him out for. "Fenghuang, illuminate this room with your blue fire!" Kyosuke commanded, as the Spirit of Fenghuang obliged. The room lightened only in the general vicinty of the bird, still nothing could be seen as if the room were actually empty. "You still refuse to answer me? Are you that confident? More like it, are you that egocentric!? You believe you are prepared for this step? The balance in your mind of being able to Think and Feel, or for Sensation and Intuition...or the solidified image you have of your self...you consider yourself special because of it? You believe yourself to have transcended what it means to have a generic human mentality. Is this where you draw your motivation and power from? Is this why you think your good enough to become a risk breaker!?" the voice said again, becoming more aggresive now. "Transcended!? You know nothing of me...how dare you claim me to be that ignorant." Kyosuke said now getting even more annoyed. "I will become a risk breaker to fulfill my own legacy, this is true! But it isn't because of delusion nor is it because of my unsatisfactory sense of distinction or even a misplaced sense supremacy! It's because it's what i've worked so hard for years to be, I will not only engrave the name of Orias into the pages of history, but the name of KYOSUKE Orias." "Then you feel you are ready...based on your physical and magical capabilities do you think yourself to be capable?" the voice asked. "Of course. I have mastered what needed to be mastered and I have become quite proficient at all of it! But contrary to what you may think, it will not be my cane of dependence." Kyosuke answered with a stern and confident tone. "Then, you are also ready mentally and emotionally? You truly know what it means to be a risk breaker!?" "Yes. Now cease this unproductive game and show yourself if you are to be my opponent!" Kyosuke demanded. "Hmph, very well...show me the truth and value of your resolution, prodigy!" At that, the lights in the room came on, temporarily blinding Kyosuke who had gotten used to the darkness for the past 10 minutes. He looked around and saw what seemed to be a fusion of a library and a courtyard. The outdoor nature seemed amazing real, though Kyosuke couldn't understand how it could be. Wasn't he still inside? Is it all just an illusion? He looked again and saw a desk on a balcony hanging off the library shelves. He saw a figure standing there, as he closed a book and turned his glance downward toward Kyosuke. Kyosuke's eyes broadened as the figure came into focus for him, he stood speechless realizing now that his suspicions were true...but...It couldn't really be him, could it? "Kyosuke...your failure here will end in your death! You have made your decision, now prove that you deserve to have your name in the pages of history!" the figure said to him. "F...father? This...this must be another illusion...why would you be here? Such childish tricks, i wonder how many of the other's have been faced with such unimpressive illusions!" Kyosuke yelled up, doubting the image of his father before him. Before he could say anything else though, he heard the clanging of chains and the shuffling of two people coming from behind him. He turned his head to notice Sakura and Ayame chained and muzzled to 2 platforms on an island only about 3 feet or so away from the main landmass Kyosuke was standing on. He looked at them both and felt a tension, but got a hold of himself and turned to the image of his father. "M...more illusions! Do you think you can fool me with those? You don't know who I am do you?" Kyosuke yelled, feeling insulted. He took one step forward, but the man who appeared to be Vidale Orias tosses forward two things landing infront of Kyosuke. He looked down at both of them and felt a strong sinking feeling in his stomach. "You....but....this is a trial...this is MY trial? It can't....be them, can it?" Kyosuke said to himself as he picked up the silver heart pendant that Sakura always held on herself. It was her secret keepsake that she hardly let anybody see. The other object was Ayame's bracelet that was also the instrument for summoning Daiya. He held them in his hand, they were real...they couldn't be illusions...but if they weren't illusions...did that mean that the Sakura and Ayame tied up were also not illusions? "Kyosuke...listen to me. Yes, this is your trial...but you have to realize something. Argo Arx Arcanum is only interested in the absolute best. Kyosuke everything i said about you is true, you are special, you are a prodigy, you will be a great addition to this academy's Risk Breakers. These two before you are weak and insignificant to the academy." "Thats not true!" Kyosuke yelled. "My son! You knew this when you enrolled...you knew that you were of great interest to the academy...you will make a fine addition to the Orias family name by becoming a risk breaker...i merely had to hear it from your mouth my son." "Is this what the academy is really about? Discarding people THEY feel aren't worth anything!? In exchange for the services of those like myself, or according to YOU atleast!? You can't possibly expect me to kill them do you?" "No, of course not Kyosuke. Your true trial begins here...If you wish for all of this to end, save your friends and become a risk breaker you must do as I say. Your cross...take it in your hand." Kyosuke looked at his cross, he now knew what all the inscriptions were...but was he to find out the purpose now? He took the cross, as his father extended his hand and channeled his energy into it. "What...what are you doing!?" Kyosuke yelled as the cross began to glow. The cross broke away from his neck and shone a light brighter than the one that first shone when he entered the room. Soon, before him a massive monster had taken form...no...not just any monster. Kyosuke recognized it...his father had done so much research on it...it was a chimerageist! Kyosuke's eyed broadened again at the amazing sight of a real Chimerageist. "Kyosuke! This is your trial! Kill this chimerageist and you will pass, but on the other hand if you do, Your friends there will die. If you wish to free your friends rather then fight, you will fail this trial!" his father said, pointing toward the island. Kyosuke turned and saw that the platforms were only supported by a single chain. His father motioned that he would shatter the chain with his magic. "What!? How could you make me do this!? I can't...What kind of decision is that!?" Kyosuke yelled. "Risk Breakers accomplish their task no matter what! I told you! You are the academy's choice! Do NOT disgrace our name now Kyosuke! Make me proud and begin your own legacy like you've always dreamed!" Kyosuke looked up at the Chimerageist...he couldn't believe what he was being forced to do. Was this really his trial? What must he decide...could he kill his friends? Of course not...but could he stand to fail now...what would everyone think of him or the Orias name if he was the only one not to become a risk breaker? Kyosuke's mind sunk into itself as he thought deeply a way out of this.
22. With little time before the start of the trials: Last minute words and promises. - - - - - - - - Kyosuke and the others met one last time before they were required to enter their own respective trial. Everyone voiced their determination to pass and take the next step to becoming risk breakers. Alex took his leave first, glancing around for a few seconds. He wished to go alone, but had no objections to other's watching if it was their wish. Kyosuke hoped in his mind that Alex had the right state of mind to pass his trial. Kyosuke turned to Ayame who was standing next to him, Daiya on her shoulder. "Your ready, Ayame. Let's make sure this isn't the last time we will see each other...work hard to pass your trial, and i'll see you in the final exam. We all will...because nobody is going to fail" Kyosuke said, noticing that Ayame had her eyes closed trying to regulate her breathing. Ayame looked up at him, and looked at his smile...the one she had become so accustomed to liking. "Uh huh!" Ayame said with a smile on her face, reacting to Kyosuke's words. She didn't have time to wonder if she was ready, she knew she wanted to go through with it no matter what, she wanted to be with everyone. She wanted to prove that she could be strong and be with all of her friends after the final exam. She was also looking forward to the big dance after the final exam. Especially since she wanted to put the gift Kyosuke gave her for her birthday to good use. Sakura looked slightly away after hearing Kyosuke's pep talk to Ayame. Sakura hid very well her clouded mind, though inside she feverishly tried to fight for clarity, or at least enough focus to make sure she passed the trial as well. She knew all of her training sessions would pay off deep inside though, she was ready to take on anything the trial would throw at her...it was how to feel after she got out that concerned her. She wanted to be able to look forward to being teamed with Kyosuke in the final exam, but figured they were both good candidates for team leaders and the chances of both of them being together were slim. Aaron and Stephen looked at each other and nodded. They were ready to take their leave as well. "Well, we're off...hopefully it's just like you said Kyosuke, we'll all pass...and see each other again" Aaron said, hoping it with all of his heart. He still considered Stephen is one real true friend in the academy, but has become comfortable with the company of the rest of the group over the past months. Aaron was happy to know the people he did, and to have atleast one true friend. "That's how it'll be, cause I said so!" Stephen added, giving a thumbs up. Aaron and Stephen said their goodbyes. Stephen went to give Rinoa a hug, but quickly changed it to a handshake after seeing Havok take a few steps toward him. It didn't take long for Stephen to recognize the signs of a jealous boyfriend, and knew when to bow out gracefully to avoid any problems. When he walked over to Ayame however, she threw him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Stephen returned it and they giggled at each other. Aaron rolled his eyes, waiting for Stephen...Kyosuke on the other hand felt a little tense but eased himself as quick as he could...he didn't want to seem unfocused infront of everyone. He couldn't help but dislike Stephen's grin everytime he and Ayame hugged though. The two support magic users made their way, leaving Kyosuke, Ayame, Sakura, Havok, and Rinoa. "Hey, wheres Carrot and Lazarus anyway?" Rinoa asked, wondering why they didn't come. "Lazarus preferred to go straight to his trial, he wished us all luck though...he seemed pretty determined so I wouldn't worry too much about him" Kyosuke answered. He didn't anything about Carrot's whereabouts and didn't really care much either. "Well, I saw Carrot running to the infirmary before i came here...i don't know where she is now but i'm sure she was just doing some last minute preparations." Sakura added in. The 5 students looked at each other for a few moments, they knew the time was here. They had to be on their way like Alex, Lazarus, Aaron, and Stephen already were. Kyosuke let out a sign and stepped forward out of the circle. "It's time...i better get this over with." Kyosuke said, wanting to keep his words short. Everyone stayed away from saying goodbye, because they knew in their hearts that it wasn't neccesary. Havok was the first to walk over to Kyosuke, the two firmly shook hands, looking sincerely into each other's eyes as if mentally making each other a promise that they would conquer the trials and become two of the best risk breakers the academy has ever seen. Rinoa ran up to Kyosuke and gave him a big hug, almost with tears in her eyes. Havok had no problem with it since he started to know the type of person Kyosuke really was. There was a strong trust between the two, not to mention Havok understood that Kyo and Rinoa were friends just as much as he and Kyo were. Kyosuke returned Rinoa's hug and they made the same mental promise. Sakura stood there and watched, she knew already that Kyosuke was going to pass the trial. She knew him well and there was nothing the academy could throw at him that he couldn't conquer. 'How easy he must have it...not having such distractions from his goal...if only i knew how to feel...' she thought to herself, realizing it to be a bit unfair since Kyosuke had plenty to overcome himself, despite his natural talent and intellegence. She knew it was, but she couldn't help but feel that nobody's mind at the moment was in as much thought as hers. She looked up to a not so helpful sight, as Ayame was already embracing Kyosuke saying her goodbyes. Ayame got up enough courage to give Kyosuke a little peck on the cheek, but turned all kinds of shades of red afterwards. They smiled at each other, as Daiya jumped over to Kyosuke shoulder and gave him a big hug with his tail and started purring. "I guess he's still enjoying the gift that he got, huh?" Kyosuke said, laughing a bit. Back when Kyosuke had given Ayame her birthday gift, neither of them really knew when Daiya's exact birthdate was so he just considered giving Daiya a gift the same time as Ayame. The gift Kyosuke gave to Ayame's faithful companion was a large box full of his favorite ice cream flavor from the academy cafeteria. Ayame giggled a bit and called for Daiya to come back so Kyosuke could leave. At first, Kyosuke had always thought that Ayame wasn't the type of person he could see becoming a risk breaker. But over time, he saw how determined she was to prove that (which was probably a common thought amongst many other students ) wrong. She improved her magic and weapon skills greatly since they first met. Kyosuke had also noticed the change in behavior from Ayame when it concerned him...she seemed less hyper around him the past few months but never actually avoided him. Ayame always assured him that she was having a good time whenever they were hanging out, or even training. Kyosuke never thought it would happen, but over time he had become quite fond of Ayame, she made him smile a lot, and most of all made him feel like an individual. Ayame never brought up Kyo's father or his family name, and never judged him because of either of them. He felt, she genuinely liked being with him. Sakura stood there almost frozen, she didn't know how to see Kyosuke off. He walked over to her and they stood across from each other for a few seconds just looking at one another. "Sakura...i won't wish you luck because I know you won't need it. Your one of the people i know...i know i'll be seeing in the final exam. Even if we're in different groups...we'll both become risk breakers." Kyosuke said confidently. Sakura couldn't say anything all of a sudden, she just looked up at him and hoped that it really would be that simple. She finally just lunged herself at Kyosuke and wrapped her arms around his torso. Kyosuke felt taken by suprise, since Sakura had never been that affectionate before. He figured she was just feeling weird because of the trial. "You better make it too...or else i'm really going to have to beat you up!" Sakura said, trying to sound as much like her normal self as possible. Kyosuke gave a confident grin, as if to say "Of course i'm going to make it". He checked to make sure he had everything he needed and waved at everyone before he began to walk to his designated trial chamber. Kyosuke was more determined then ever to become a risk breaker. For his friends, for his family, and most of all...for his own legacy.
23. Edit: Finished up the bio. Not as good as i had intended for it to come out, but i wanted to avoid making it any longer then it already is. Sign-up is done. - - - - - - - - Name: Virgil Kingston Gender: Male Age: Around 400 years old (cannot recall exact date of birth) / appearence suggests late 20s or early 30s. Race: Vampire Alliance: Alliance of Vampiric Clansmen. Works often with the Guild of Supernatural Defense as a representative. Physical Description: Virgil Weapons: -Virgil uses a version of the Kusari-gama which has a padded steel hilt in place of the traditional weight on the opposite of the chain from the sickle. The crescent shaped sickle measures 11 inches, the chain extends up to 10 feet. It is kept attached to his lowerback, behind his trenchcoat when not in use. -Attached to his back in criss-cross fashion, underneathe his trenchcoat are 2 all black (except the blade, which is pure silver) Nagamakis (sheathed when not in use). They are useful for stealthy attacks and quick unexpected attacks. The blades measures up to 18 inches each, making the length of the entire weapon with hilt included 30 inches (the hilt being custom made as shorter then traditional Nagamaki hilts in comparison to their blades). Abilities: Aside from being exceptionally skilled in the art of his two weapons of choice, Virgil posesses the common enhanced super speed, strength, and quick-healing that most vampires share. When unarmed, Virgil isn't neccesarily talented in any type of martial arts, however he has an extended knowledge in pressure points and will target them when neccesary. One ability exclusive to Virgil however lies within his vocal chords. Utilizing certain types frequencies in his voice he can cause others to become weary and fatigued by obstructing neural activity within the cells. The sound of his voice during this time changes very little, but will be recognizable as sounding like two voices in unison. Personality: Virgil is an indulgent yet diciplined invidual who enjoys intellegent conversating as his preferred type of communication with others. He keeps in good shape and enjoys some of the finer things in life, more importantly beautiful women and fancy wine. The agreement between the GSD and AVC concerning the supply of blood has always been able to quell his thirst, and he often jokes about how he once hated wine because he believed it to be a cheap imitation, but now actually rather enjoys it. He is efficient at killing and normally does so without hesitation when offered a job by the AVC or GSD. He often seems calm and collected when fighting, as he typically recites meaningful yet cryptic poems before slaying his intended targets. Outside of battle he can be a poetic individual at times as well. Aside from enjoying the nightlife 's pleasures, he also enjoys literature. He will often read most anything with historical significance whether it be fiction or non-fiction. He seems laid back and charming a good portion of the time, but has an ugly temper when a rare occaision arises which bothers him enough to bring it out. He tries not to keep too many "friends", but has nothing against gaining respect for those who earn it. Even despite that however, Virgil will often not be receptive to outside ideas or advice concerning most matters. He believes he knows what's best and will carry it out regardless of any opposition to his methods. Some may say it serves as a weakness in some cases. His only other fairly noticable weakness is his strong attraction to the opposite sex. Biography: Virgil's earliest memory was laying on the streets of 17th century Romania, the sky and ground decorated by rain, the dark clouds moving at such a slow pace. Virgil lifted his head to see a man of japanese background, extending his hand to him. His mind and vision were hazy...Virgil had no clue what had just happened, why he was laying on the streets, or why he couldn't remember anything. "If you stay...the thirst will cause you pain...and you will become a monster" he heard the man who had his hand extended toward him say. Virgil looked at himself, he saw his blood mixing with the rain on the streets, but lacked the energy even to simply panic. Virgil felt compelled to take the man's hand, he was taken in by him and came to know him as Aketchi. Years passed as Virgil and his savior Aketchi moved to a small town in England. Virgil still couldn't remember much before the day Aketchi had found him. All he knew was he was attacked by a vampire, and left on the streets. Something traumatic must have happened prior to the attack, something combined with the near death experience of being turned into a night stalker that severely messed up Virgil's mind. Aketchi became his sensei as well, later revealing himself to be a runaway from the Tokugawa Shogunate. He helped Virgil live as best he could, an helped to create a new image for himself so he could try to live as best he could while forming new memories to replace his lost ones. Virgil's mind understood things very well, he was rather intellegent in fact and adapted quickly. The only thing that seemed to be a miss was his memory. Virgil learned from Aketchi about dicipline, and the art of combat for his selected wepons of choice. Though he was often a deviant student as well as he would become distracted easily by the temptations of humanity...despite not being one anymore. Virgil enjoyed the company of women most of all, but it wasn't until one day when his thirst got the better of him did Aketchi realize it was time to work something out. After being with a woman, Virgil killed her and drained her of her blood...the packets of blood Aketchi supplied him with were too little in number. But how would someone like Aketchi come to have access to packets of blood? "It is my fault...for keeping it from you...it is time we met with an old friend of mine..." was what he told Virgil. It was then his name was decided, as Virgil Kingston was the name his sensei had chosen for him. For years they had lived with each other, and for all of them Virgil never had a name. But now, he had a need for it. Virgil was introduced to a member of the Alliance of Vampiric Clansman. Aketchi was a former member of the Guild of Supernatural Defense himself, and still had ties with the allied groups. It was how he was able to sneak blood out for Virgil's sake, though it was quite a hassle. Virgil was made a member for the sake of quelling his thirst, thanks to the good word of his sensei. Virgil however, felt obligated to earn his keep...at that Aketchi was happy for seein what he had taught him over so many years had not been in vain. Virgil became accepted and offered his unwavering services for the sake of his sensei and the chance to live a peaceful life as best he could. Still unable to recall even his name, he became known as Virgil Kingston for the remainder of his life. As decades passed Virgil became quite comfortable with his fellow AVC members and began to formulate his own resolve and own reasons for everything, he wanted to uphold the honor and goals of the AVC/GSD alliance because it was what allowed him to live as closely to normal as he could, even as a vampire. His love of the pleasures of life and a world without constant warring involving his kind was his ideal, and that is what he fights for. He kills when he needs to, if his ideals are threatened. For his prowess and efficiency in battle, as well as his intellectual verbal skills he became a top representative for the AVC within the GSD whenever they required the services of someone. Virgil despised gratuitous killing, to both human kind and vampire kind. He always remembered the ways he was taught by his sensei, and became a very crucial ally and a very dangerous enemy to anyone on either respective side. He had over 400 years to mature himself into the person he is currently, a vampire who still seeks to promote peaceful living amongst everyone. He strongly opposes the Blood Brood, and any others sharing in any way or form their goals. It had already been etched into his mind...that death will be the ultimate penalty for anyone who seeks to challenge the newfound alliance between Lowendove, the AVC, and the GSD.
24. 11:00 AM - Two weeks before the trials: Today's forcast...freezing winds. - - - - - - - - Kyosuke and Sakura stood back to back in one of the academy's major training chambers. It's where the risk breaker students were allowed to do their preparations 2 months before the trials. Both Kyosuke and Sakura spent a lot of time in them...Kyosuke more so because of his insistence on training alone. They always agreed to have training sessions with each other, especially after the day they learned to do...what they were about to do again...today. "Are you ready?" Kyosuke asked Sakura, as the students looked around them at nearly over 50 attack drones set to the highest level. It was inconceivable to have so many set to so high, 4 attack drones at a time set to level 7 (out of 10) was the reccomended for each student for a normal training exercise. Anything higher would best be done in lower number. It was the first time the two students were attempting this...but they had succeeded at it countless times in the past, it was time to master it. "Yes...i'm ready" Sakura said, as both students raised their right hands forward. Despite the protective fields around the training area to assure the saftey of the students, enough shallow injuries in bulk would prove fatal. On the highest level, the drones resistance and defense were also at max. The two tops of the senior class had one chance to get this right, or else they would have to fight off 50 attack drones on level 10, by some other means. "You're sure you'll be able to get 5?" Sakura asked, wanting to make sure of their plan first. "I can garauntee you 5" Kyosuke assured her. The drones closed in for a cohesive attack, Sakura took center stage first and began the process. "It's going to get quite breezy in here...hehehe" Sakura said as she pressed her left hand to the ground. A stong wind immedietley started to fill the area as the twirled her right finger. Sakura closed her eyes and concentrated hard, after all they were fighting with their lives on the line. The signs of tornados in several areas began to show. She manifested mini tornados and begin to combine them into one. The drones were drawn in by the intense wind, most of them fighting to fly their way out of the eye, but the tornado was too strong. All 50 eventually ended up in the eye of the tornado as Kyosuke walked as close as he could without being drawn in himself. Kyosuke raised his right arm up and pushed his glasses up with his left. "These freezing winds...will be your demise" Kyosuke said as he manifested up to 5 ice mirrors that encircled the tornado. He extended them as far as they could go extend and soon they formed a helix shape around the massive whirlwind. Kyosuke focused the particles between the mirrors and the whirlwind and began to decrease the temperature. Within seconds he had the wind inside of the tornado frozen completely, creating a giant ice cone with the drones trapped inside. "Yes! We did it!" Sakura said, looking up at the collosal "Entrap-and-Destroy" ploy her and Kyosuke had pulled off. "It's not over yet..." Kyosuke said, beggining to charge up the mirrors. Kyosuke narrowed his eyes and put a subtle grin on his face. "Barrage of icy death!" Kyosuke yelled as a barrage of icicles shot forth from the mirrors impaling the frozen tornado in nearly 500 different areas. The ice cone shattered in a matter of 3 seconds, the debris from the drones emblazoning the floor. Kyosuke and Sakura looked at each other with a satisfied look on their faces. Mixing their wind and ice elementals so well, it was a reward by itself to see it as succesful as it could be. "The only shame about this all is our chances of being placed on the same team for the exam will probably be small. But it works on our elemental control just as well. Our particle control is excellent." Kyosuke explained. "Either way, it's safe to say we're both pretty much ready." Sakura said, rubbing her arms a bit from the cold atmosphere in the training room. "Not entirely yet...atleast not for me. We should get some lunch now...but afterwards i need to..." "I know, I know...your private training sessions. I won't keep you. Though i wish i could see what it is you've been working on these past months." Sakura said, cutting off Kyosuke. "I'm sure...you'll see when the time comes." Kyosuke said, as the two students went to leave for the cafeteria. As they walked, Kyosuke took his chain in his hand again and looked at it. He found out the pattern to find out the inscriptions...he had an idea when Ayame first deciphered the one for Water. It was pretty much confirmed when he asked Havok to look at it. Sure enough Havok recognized one of them as the ancient symbol for Fire. Kyosuke knew the others must be the remaining elements, but he still didn't know which ones were which. He was even more curious as to what might happen if he found out about all of them...was it supposed to mean anything? What were his father's intentions in giving him the cross? He had hoped that he would find the answer soon. ooc: I am hoping to have at least one more post before the trials involving some more character interaction, as well as a glimpse at Kyo's private training sessions.
25. 9:05 AM - Three weeks before the Trials: Recollection. - - - - - - - - Weeks have passed so quickly, since the day of the announcement each of the 12 Risk Breaker students have been training feverishly. Once the "Mox Incident" went public, the four students involved gained a bit more attention than desired, but each one was treated differently. Alex received the bulk of the attention because of his past records. Despite several attempts on both Lazarus's and Kyosuke's part to try and alleviate all of the blame on Alex, nothing proved convincing. Lazarus accused of being overly emotional and having a falsely acquired guilty conscience because he was one of Mox's best students. Kyosuke was relieved of any suspicions and he received endless apologies and sympathies on the academy's part for the injures he sustained. Kyosuke expected that...most people would see it as a blessing to be able to instantly get out of any serious trouble because of who you were, and who your father was. Kyosuke on the other hand hated that he was unable to take responsibility for his part in everything. Ayame was also mostly pardoned, there was a collective effort on the other 3 student's part to convince the higher ups that Ayame didn't do anything, which was pretty much the truth of it. She was safe from alienation as well, while Alex served as the Headmaster's scapegoat. Kyosuke felt guilty everytime he thought about it, though the support from his friends as well as Alex saying that he didn't blame Kyosuke for anything made it easier for him...it didn't completely eradicate how he felt. A few weeks after that, when his shoulder fully healed Kyosuke was able to become focused once again on preparing for the trials and the exam. The only time before then he was able to fully enjoy his days was during Sakura's birthday. He dedicated all of his time to making it special for her. The group threw her a party and everyone got some kind of gift for her... ***FLASHBACK*** Kyosuke and Ayame were leading a blindfolded Sakura toward one of the gardens. It was an unusually nice night out, with a clear moon and a nice warm atmosphere helped slightly by a few breezes. "Hey guys...are we almost there? I keep thinking i'm gonna trip over something." Sakura said, trying to keep up with her two escorters. "Don't worry, we're almost there." Kyosuke assured as they turned her into a doorway. Inside the garden waiting for the guest of honor was Havok, Rinoa, Lazarus, Aaron, and Stephen. Carrot was more adamant about studying her support magic as opposed to celebrating Sakura's birthday, but in an attempt to show that she wasn't being completely rude about it, she sent Sakura a card. Alex had refused to show up, leaving his reasons vague...but Kyosuke understood well enough. "SUPRISE!!!" everyone yelled, as Ayame pulled Sakura's blindfold off. Sakura knew what was coming, but still felt warm inside as she looked around at her friends there for her. It was a much better feeling then the academy party she had where everyone who just liked her because she was popular or attractive were there. Sakura smiled and gave Kyosuke a big hug before running up to everyone else and giving them hugs. "We all got you something you'll probably like, Kyo knows ya pretty well so he passed judgement on all of our choices" Rinoa said with a slight laugh. "Yep...but Kyosuke has something special he wants to show you...don't you Kyo?" Havok said, looking over at Kyosuke with a grin. Sakura turned to Kyosuke who at this point was trying to shut Havok up with his hands, despite it being too late already. Kyosuke saw Sakura looking at him and he put a big grin on and retracted his hands to the back of his head not-so-casually. "Um...heh, well...i guess i do." Kyosuke said, walking over to a large open area against the wall. "Heh, actually...i have to credit Havok for the idea." Rinoa leaned over toward Havok and whispered in his ear, "Did you tell him what i think you told him?" "Hehe, hey it can just as easily be done with Ice then it can with Fire...just watch!" Havok told Rinoa. Kyosuke spread his arms out and began to focus on converting all the particles around the area. He began to cover select areas with frost and slowly freezing them into certain shapes and forms. By the time he was finished, Sakura was looking up at 2 giant angels holding a banner between them with the words "Happy Birthday Sakura!" etched in them, along with a statue of Sakura herself underneathe the banner. Her jaw dropped at how perfect and beautiful it was, she ran to Kyosuke and jumped at him and gave him a giant hug. "Oh my god...it's beautiful..." was all she managed to say, but was thinking so much more. Everyone smiled and clapped, Kyosuke and Havok gave each other a mental high five. The two male students had grown a bit closer to one another over the time after the announcement. They trained together often when it came to weapon training, and Havok found Kyosuke to be very handy with advice. On a few occaisions even Kyosuke learned a thing or two from Havok, such as the idea for elemental molding. Sakura and Rinoa would talk and laugh about how sweet it was. Sakura eventually opened all of her gifts, which included many kinds of books and a new hilt for her Gunblade which allowed for a tighter grip and easier movement. After the day was over though, everyone knew that the next day they had to study their assess off for all kinda of tests as well as the trials. ***END FLASHBACK*** ooc: i had intended to make it longer but i need to get on the road in a few minutes. Will post another when i get back. ooc2: Abel hope you don't mind us being buds :P.
