If were living in a perfect world where animes made into games would actually be worth playing (minus a few exceptoons which are already pretty good like the naruto games for PS2 and FMA: crimson elixir) then i think Scryed would make a real kick *** RPG. The attack graphics would rule with the variety in alters and their forms and the attacks. You got a great cast of characters both the obvious playable ones and the non-playable ones. Evangelion would make a great game with a cool free roaming battle system against the angels with the eva units. There would probably be some fan service mini games like dating asuka and rei or having a girls hot spring gathering or something. I know they've made countless gundam games, but i don't recall a single good one so the anime Gundam Wing especially has great potential to be a great free roam adventure style game with great venues like space, land, etc...so if any other companies try to tackle any more Gundam titles it would help to put much more thought in them. As for games into animes, i think most every FF game will be a popular answer amongst everybody, but aside from those i would massacre my way through any line to get any OVA, series, movie, whatever it may be of Xenogears. The cutscenes were primarily anime style in the game already so no reason to get anything wrong with it. Also i would love to see a Dynasty Warriors anime, i've been a fan of that series since 3, i've played through the ROTK games multiple times and read the full 4 book novel. It would be a great long running series if given the right amount of attention.

Anime American Anime or Japanese Only??
TheResplendent replied to AnimeHeroX's topic in Otaku Central
Hi everyone im trying to get into the anime cartoon and manga business and was wonder just because a anime is made my an american that study the art form do you think that make's any less of an anime :( then if it was made over in japan? :( casue i remember this jerk  who was on g4 and say if it'a not made over in japan it's not an anime  . i know their has to be people who has to have opinion about this. :D I mean how many of us haven't wanted to see your ideas come to anime life or to be made into a great manga :D . like naruto :animesmil , one piece :animestun , or :animeblus girls bravo... these are cult classic to me. but what's your take on this issue? :smirk:
I not only support your goal, but share it as well. As far as the hope factor goes. I'm not great at artwork but i'm an expert at fiction/story writing. As far as the differentiation between japanese and american anime, i personally associate the word anime specifically with japanese animation but it isn't a travesty to use it in a more prevalent manner, but as far as whats conveyed through each they can very well be on equal terms. See my article on anime and the imagination to get a better idea on it, but most any story can be told through both styles of animation despite each one's track record (which i aim to mean that i've enjoyed more japanese animation than american, but there have been some seriously good american animation). Both styles have the same tools and ability to go to the same extent. So don't give up only because other people are telling you what your looking to create dosen't fit under a specific label, rather prove to them that it dosen't matter as long as the talent and drive are in the right place. -
Manga Naruto Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
TheResplendent replied to Ryo the Tactician's topic in Otaku Central
wow Tatsubei Yagyu you know loads about naruto i have now found a mission in life to find out more then Tatsubei Yagyu about naruto if it is possible lol anyways does anyone know in chapter 311;
1) what kind of training kakashi is talking about? 2) how naruto will be able to supass kakashi? 3) why is it only naruto who can do the training?
any help in my mission will be most appreciated
You can find out all you want if you look up the right place. Plus the story behind the 3 siblings that the mangekyou sharingan's attacks are named after (in suasnoo's case, possibly named after since we haven't really seen it yet) isn't really Naruto knowledge, its knowledge of the legend involving that story. I've been interested in that kind of stuff for years, if you ask me it's a lot more interesting then the actual historical events that are commonly taught in high school and college. As for whats about to revealed about the training Kakashi was talking about, it's probably very doubtful but it would be interesting to find out that Naruto all this time had a blood line limit. That or learning some more hokage level jutsus...Naruto's attack techniques kind of went stale with me a while ago so i'm not really concerned bout em. Though i am interested to see what Sasuke has learned besides being able to
discharge chidori throughout his body
. But i'm most interested in seeeing the other
former genin's abilities, more specifically Kiba, Lee, Neji, temari, and if shika has one besides his shadow ability that he used to destroy Sai's drawings
-
If I remember right in one episode they hinted at it but never really said it, but from how I took it I think his
original name was Al O.o
now I could be wrong considering they never ACTUALLY said it. It was one of the episodes near the end, Scar was in a flashback with his brother I think, Hmm I think it might be when he was explaining how he got his scar O.o Someone correct me if I?m wrong though .
I really don't think we are meant to know. I remember that episode pretty well and i don't think there was anything that was meant to hint it to us. The only thing i can think of is if it's hinted in any way it would have been during the flashbacks involving his brother and
lust's former self
. I would have to go over those episodes again though.
BKstyles, I added spoiler tags to your post. You'd need to use spoiler tags in this case because what you were talking about wasn't revealed until later in the series. -r2

Art Anime banners up for critisizm
TheResplendent replied to TheResplendent's topic in Creative Works
Uhh...did i say critisizm? I meant, uh...praise...yeah.... J/k, i dont mind. I asked for it. About the temari banner, yeah i tried to cover up the cut off part on the right but i was a bit lazy to redo the thing at the time i finished it. I tried to theme the naruto banners similarly. I believe the effect on the termari pic is a stamp effect and the one on the hitsugaya pic is a freeze effect, i thought they looked rather decent but i know that it also adds a sense of blurryness to it. I am also guessing that so far theres no problems with my sig banner since no comments have been made about it? As for my sizes...i normally do anywhere between 350x100 to 400x200. Though i've come to enjoy doing the smaller sized ones better. Thx for the comments so far. Hope to get more. -
Just started doing some gfx work some months ago, had a few tips and whatnot from a few friends. Art isn't really my thing (though i appreciate art, i can't really draw to save my life) so i figured it would be easier to create works that didn't involve me needing to use any god forsaken artwork by me (cutting the pics is about as close to making the pictures myself as its gonna get). Was hoping for some comments or tips, open for anything. This batch is Naruto/Bleach based, they are my latest though i have others (theres a whole boatload on my myspace). Linked from imageshack since they exceed allowed size limits for OB.
well, in the anime, not yet. in the manga, which is wayyyy ahead, they have "Naruto", and something called "Naruto II". ya see. at one point in the series, Naruto goes with
Jiraiya in seclusion to train for about 2.5 years.
the same goes for Sakura and Tsunade. what they did with the manga is called a time-skip, where they dont show you anything that goes on in those 2 or so years, so when the next issue comes out, 2 and a half years have past since the last chapter/episode. they consider the period after the 2 years "Naruto II". i wont spoil it anymore for you guys, unless you already know this stuff. but i will say this for those who dont know-all the characters have changed dramatically. stronger, more mature. and they learn plenty new things too! ok, i'll stop now...
KyuubiKhaos, I added spoiler tags to your post, please use spoiler tags. Not everyone is familiar with a particular anime and it's no fun to know what's going to happen even if it's just a small reference. Instructions on how to use spoiler tags can be located at the top of the Anime Lounge. If you have any questions feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. ~Aaryanna

Sounds like my explanation... :animeangr But to add on to the general idea, the story of how kakashi got his sharingan is also explained in the mangas as a side story flashing back to when kakashi was first being promoted as jounin. This may hit the anime before the "Naruto 2" stories do since it was meant to be a bridge between the two parts. Kind of like a halftime show if you will.
-
In other words. The second part of the manga (which is considered "Naruto 2" is when Naruto and crew grow older.
It takes place 2 and half years after the last arc of the naruto episodes currently released. Everyone is a chuunin except Neji, Temari, and Kankuro who are jounin and gaara is kazekage of the sand village. Naruto is the only one who is still genin.
When it comes out as anime, it will be portrayed as a giant gap and then years later in time unless they decide to make a filler to lead up to it.

I'm most certainly not hopeful of the english dubbing. I've seen very few animes where the english dubbings were acceptable and maybe 1 or 2 where they were actually rather good (FMA and Cowboy Bebop). But it always seems like the ones that sound really good in japanese like Naruto and Bleach are destined for less than stellar dubbing. It's important atleast that they dont mess up Ichigo or Ishida's voices.
-
Well, i finally started watching the series and i'm absolutely suprised at how much better it is turning out to be than i thought it would. So far i've seen up to episode 26. The way the main theme and story is moves a long with the details in between is great and the action is awesome, not better then say Naruto but i very much like the fights between
the deathgods, seeing the different types of soul slayers at work.
Gotta say so far my favorite soul slayer is Zabimaru. Characters are great, i've mentioned before that it is rare that in an anime the main character is one of my favorites in the series. Now along side Ed from FMA and Vash from Trigun is Ichigo from Bleach, he is a great main character. For some reason i am also very partial to Rukia, out of all the females so far her personality is the only one that really appeals to me and her role and character are much deeper then the others (from what ive seen so far anyway). Ishida is a cool character too, his couple of episodes with Ichigo were great to convey his personality type. Though i'd take a soul slayer over his power anyway, i've always been partial to the cocky intellegent character types. With as many episodes as the series has though, i'm dreading an eventual decrease in quality. Kind of what Naruto hit around the 140s. Hopefully it won't be for a while (or maybe not even at all).
Funny...I made the game, but quite frankly I suck at it. :animesmil [/B'] *Thinks about all the blue-haired girls he's seen* I've seen her before...Wait...Is it Fullmetal Panic?
You may have seen a lot of blue haired girls, but kaname's the hottest, hehe.
Close but i dont know if you I can give you credit because its from an OVA. If you can name the OVA/Movie its from then it would be correct but Ill leave it up to Nomura to decide.
In that case, Samurai X.
Well, the "legit" DVDs that are out aren't boxsets they've only released eight episodes (on two disks, sold sperately). Anything else is a bootleg. Any box-set up to episode 148 is a bootleg. If that's what you meant, you weren't very clear with what you said. Maybe the "As far as legit sets go," line threw me off, because I'm not sure what you're referring to. -r2
The "as far as legit sets go" and the "the rest would be obtained as bootleg" lines are together in one sentence seperated by a comma. Which means the latter refers to the former...it's another way of saying there aren't any legit subbed or dubbed sets out there. The first line talking about a box set up to 148 is referring to what i've seen as the most up to date set that can be found fansubbed, where as other volumes are sold seperatley (or in sets with one another not including the first group of episodes). The second sentence actually serves as an insinuation that the subject of the "box of 148 episodes" is being trumped by the line "as far as legit sets go" which would lead the reader to come to the conclusion that the box must not be legit if it's being referred to as a contrary. Sorry if the sentence structure confused you. But anywhoo, the enlish voice overs are so abysmal so it's no skin off my back that we have to wait until forever to get a full box set out in the U.S. Even with the option to turn subs on with japanese audio, it wouldnt make it too much dif from whats out already with the exception of the source.

Are you sure it's from an anime and isn't original artwork?

Manga Naruto Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
TheResplendent replied to Ryo the Tactician's topic in Otaku Central
309 was the last chapter i read up to, and i don't recall sasuke having the ability. He said that he could have but he didn't want to play by itachi's rules pretty much. As for kakashi i don't have a clue why he has it, but it could be that itachi was overselling the means to get the ability so he would draw the hatred from sasuke by making him
kill his best friend
. I'm sure it will be explained...unless he killed Gai and we don't know it, lol. -
Legitimately, Naruto hasn't come out subtitled yet. The first boxset is coming out in July, but don't expect them to be near Cartoon Network, since it will only contain 13 episodes. Any Naruto DVDs with subtitles that you see on the shelves today are bootleg, and illegal. The boxsets differentiate in number, as does the quality, because they're done by different groups. Buy bootlegs at your own risk, but don't complain about quality when you do. I always wondered why people would pay for HK Subs when they can get them for free. If you're going to be so cheap that you wont buy the official DVDs, get the fansubs. If you're going to shell out money, you might as well support the companies that are making the products. Link -r2
I never said there are legit subtitled box sets...i said there were legit boxsets. The bootlegs are fansubbed which to me make little difference. I've seen multiple providers with good quality.
-
So far I have only seen what cartoon network has shown. But I do think its a good anime.I do plan to start buying the boxsets soon.I found one place that sells it subtitled. It comes on 8 boxsets all the way till episode 106.Is that the end or are there more shows?I know there's a movie. Also need to see that. And I didn't get to vote in the poll. But I would say Rock Lee.Just because I have only seen Gaara in action once so far. And I'm not really into Sasuke.
There is actually a box-set up to episode 148. As far as legit sets go, the rest would be obtained as bootlegs, but from what i've seen they are of rather good quality. I don't have much love for a majority of the fillers after the
rescue sasuke
arc, with the exceptions of a few comical episodes and the scent bug mission. It is an ongoing series so episodes are still being released. According to the manga there are atleast 2 more arcs to be created, as i'm sure will come with plenty of fillers. As of now there are 188 episodes.
