:love2: Consider yourself loved. ^_^ As for actual articles... I'll take the Graphic worm since I think it would be fun to point out how it ran last year and earned an official spot at OB like Otakupedia did. With it's own link for viewing last year as well as the contributions being made this year. ^_^ And I must say, that Sci-Fi challenge up between BKstyles and SunfallE has me wanting to challenge someone to a similar duel only in Fantasy! Hehe, I just need to find a victim! :catgirl:
:animeblus. Hehe. Looks like we started the trend, SunfallE. Wonder who's gonna step up to Aaryanna's challenge :p. Also, you could have done the article if you wanted. I really wouldn't have minded...but since you've already picked another one out and A_M has me down suppose I would just be complicating things further if I didn't go through with it, heh.
Well since I commented a few times in the thread I'm a little confused before it was removed I'll take those last two. Since I remember enough to give a little bit of a summary. as to what went down. I'll get started on it. ^_^ As for suggestions. I really don't have any since I thought the first edition looked fantastic. :catgirl:
Damn you sunflower, you have no idea how glad i'd be to write an article on those. and @ Aaryanna: No problemo, makes things easier for us :p

Hm, don't really keep a bag on me at all times...only when I go to classes. But i have a usual routine with what pockets hold what. Usually the only thing in my bag you can find are books for school, maybe a magazine or newspaper to read while i'm bored. In my pockets I usually carry my phone and my keys in my front right pocket. In my left front, my Ipod. My Wallet which has my Bank cards, NYC driver's lisence, Gamestop Edge card, College ID, Metrocard, and of course money in my right back pocket. In my left back pocket I could be carrying anything from receipts if i'm lazy and just wanna shove it in my pocket to stuff that I get that I wanna keep for later viewing and it can fold up enough to fit in the pocket.
Am I the only one who while watching that silly opening feels like my IQ is dropping with every second that it plays? LOL
Actually, that's exactly how I described the entire experience. Each episode has a moment that finds me with my head bashed up against the desk half the time. Yet there's some kind of cuteness factor that keeps me sucked in, I've been trying to fight it but i've already gotten to episode 10 :animestun

Alright, I'd like to get this up within the next day. I believe only White and Sakura need to finish their sign ups in order for me to be able to start with every adjutant taken. Though i'd gladly get things started if White would just fill in the Adjutant skills. Anyone that still has to fill in some skills, don't worry about it...since in the first chapter your adjutant will only know two skills, so you'll have that time to think of others. Accepted list as it stands now is: -Sakura / The Rogue -Keyblade Wielder / The Valkyrie -Disenchanted / The Arcanist -Anomaly / The Sniper -SunfallE / The Shinobi -Kitty / The Halberdier -White / The Myrmidon (granted he creates his adjutant's skills) -BKstyles / The Reaver Edit:In the interest of getting things started i'm putting the thread up now, we have a full cast as long as White can put together at least 2 skills before he posts. The simple answer is Copycatalyt was banned for throwing his psuedo-intellectual bull around for too damn long, and berating others for not thinking as narrowly and idiotically as he does. Someone who relies on pure linguistics and the hope for the inability of others to call him on his crap because he figured they would be too dazzled by his vocabulary, to get him through to being able to sound intellegent and like he had anything worthy to contribute. To those who actually had the painful displeasure of reading that crap and realizing this, it's a relief. After the first few times, I just stopped assuming that he would have anything worth reading to write...which from what I hear is pretty much the case. Anyway, good things about OB...well probably all the RPs i've taken part in. I've most definitely have had a hell of a time with The Panopticon, and further back in history, Citius Altius Fortius. A lot of the parts to Otakuboard Survivor 4 were also fun, though others were plain tedious. A lot of my fondest memories can be found in the Adventure Square, as it's where many of my friends from OB have been made. I'm sure what will become another one of my favorite moments will be coming up soon, in the form of my new duel with SunfallE in the anthology :p. Shameless plug, wooo.

Just got back from seeing it, and despite the fact that not every little thing was textbook...this has to be one of the sickest movies I have ever seen. Summer is really breeding some seriously bad *** movies with Pirates, Transformers, Die Hard, etc. The comedy was halarious, Bumblebee is a bad *** pimp no doubt ;P. The action was sick, one of the most exciting movies I've ever seen. It was like nostalgia meets pure awesomeness. One of my favorite scenes being the early chase scene between
Barricade and Bumblebee
. So much went on in that movie, and eventhough I disagreed with some of the choices they made for who to put in the movie, it worked out great. As much as I loved it though, it wasn't without it's flaws from a transformers fan POV. Making my judgements based off that, some things that made be go "ehh" was
Devestator being a single robot. The tank they depicted I believe was meant to be Brawl, the tank out of the combaticons who fuse to become Bruticus, not Devestator. Brawl is my favorite of the group, so it was awesome seeing him despite everything. In any case, in addition to feeling he was defeated a little too easily, I am hoping that in the sequels to come the constructicons and other combiners will make full appearences.
Another one, and probably most obviously is that
Megatron transformed into a jet rather than his gun which honestly didn't bug me that much considering it was a hot looking jet.
That was me looking at it from a movie goer's POV. The designs were fantastic for the most part, it however seemed like they overdid the intricacies on Megatron a bit, but even so he looked rather intimidating. The actual transforming scenes were terrific and I especially liked it when
Bumblebee traded in for a new model
, hehe. I was really glad to see my favorite of the bunch Starscream
doing some major damage, especially that slick move he did transforming out of jet mode while in air to get behind the jets that were chasing him.
I would have enjoyed a little more of the dissension between him and Megatron, aside from the little "You've dissapointed me again" line they had. It would have added a bit, especially since the decepticons all could have used a bit more background for the average movie goer. As a Transformers fan, everyone has their favorites already going into the movie...so people who root for Starscream or Blackout, etc etc, are those who already know them. Since nothing is really offered other then what they can do (which in both cases, especially the opening scene with Blackout and the jet scene with Starscream, should be enough), people won't really get a good idea of what they are about. While the autobots had plenty of build up and introductions, which is cool too because seeing them was just as satisfying as seeing the decepticons. Well, almost as satisfying ;P. Overall really, combined into the POV of a Transformers fan and a movie fan...the movie was excellent, the designs were great, the voice overs, the comedy, the action. I do have to say though that the way
Megatron was defeated
was pretty whack. I also still can't get that scene where
all the decepticons start answering the call and introduce themselves one by one
.
Who could tell? Some parts of your post indicated the former and some indicated the latter. It was rife with sarcasm, wit and humor? Where? I'm sorry but I think most people interpreted it as being a vague and garbled set of comments with no apparent direction or clear foundation. Put simply, people had to wade through the post and try to work out what the hell it was saying. Not all threads turn out like this - only idiotic ones that have no real purpose and end up becoming some ostensible demonstration of how artistry and good humor are being quashed on OB, when the underlying purpose has nothing to do with this at all (the underlying purpose probably being far more narcissistic in nature). If you find random gibberish to be artistic and poetic, that's great. Have fun with that. The problem is that most people here find it annoying and largely undecipherable. Other sites might allow that - this one doesn't, lol. Believe me, if you think I'm the only one making a judgement about what's "fun", you're very wrong. If your idea of "fun" is to come here and frequently insult the site, the staff and the members while simultaneously contradicting yourself at every turn...well, I really have no problem saying that this kind of fun isn't welcome at OB, lol. Come on, wake up to yourself. I've had the good humor and respect to put up with this tripe for long enough. You don't like OB because it doesn't welcome your self-obsessed rants - we get that. Since you apparently can't drag yourself away from the site (despite hating it), I'll do the job for you.
I cannot even begin to say what a relief it is to see this post. James, you are a hero to these boards. OB to me is someplace that needs more smart decisions like this.

The PM/IM session sounds great if Sandy doesn't mind. He was adamant about ensuring that we don't list things in the thread, but that might have been more for the purpose of keeping them away from the other team. Either way, I have a lot of faith in everyone that will participate in this challenge, I know Zeke will probably be more than happy to when she comes back and sees this ;P. Also, I don't mind at all being the first to post. I was actually kind of hoping you guys would be cool with that anyway, heh. the 500 word limit might be a bit annoying, but I'm pretty sure I can work with it no problem. That being said, i'm assuming everyone is on the same level here in terms of what the entire challenge entails since no questions have popped up in the main thread. By all means if you do still, ask away.
-
I'm definitely looking forward to playing this one. For a few months before the release dates, i've been trying to decide between Overlord and this game, and all things i've seen and heard about up until now all tip the scale in The Darkness's favor. I won't be picking it up just yet since i'm waiting for my next paycheck, but when I do...I look forward to a lack of dissapointment :).
I was under the impression that you're talking about your initial reaction (the one you thought Desbreko responded too).
Look, it's over with. We're a winning team so let's try to get along a little bit longer. The reality of it is this: I don't have anything against anybody right now, despite having my personal feelings about what kind of taste the joke was in. No need for any more conflict to be stirred up to add on to what's already floating around the boards. * * * * * Alright team, the new challenge is up. First thing is first, if anybody is unclear on what Sandy means by clichés or anything else, feel free to ask in the main thread. Everyone must be clear on every detail of what this challenge entails. We control when the challenge starts, so we can wait till we are good and ready, so get those questions out of the way. Second, it seems someone must sit out. If anybody feels they would be better off staying out of this one, say so. If not, then we'll have to find a method to decide who sits out.
I'm losing hope in The Aces suddenly.
So lemme get this straight, you quoted my whole post...but ignored the part where I said the reaction wasn't meant to be taken seriously? *sigh* I'm losing hope in most of OB suddenly.
-
If this thing was actually going down, don't you think I would've closed the team threads as well? And given some sort of reason for doing it? And maybe, like, actually sounded at all serious in my post? Think of the circumstances before you jump to conclusions, people; it's obviously a joke. Sandy, feel free to delete this along with re-opening the thread.
Not for nothing but perhaps you should go back and read when i indicated that it was probably a joke. Don't call my judgement into question here if you can't read. You had your fun, alright it's done. If for some reason your offended by this, then oh well. Think of the circumstances, obviously a reaction to a stupid joke shouldn't be taken seriously either. :)
-
I am a bit surprised myself since it's an awfully childish move by Desbreko...but I also feel like it may just be a joke and he'll unlock it soon. So just give it some time for everyone to get it all out of their system.

Otakupedia Entries/Suggestions/Discussion thread
TheResplendent replied to Charles's topic in General Discussion
Articles, articles... Member: Keyblade Wielder Since: 10-05 Keyblade Wielder, a rather popular Otakuboards member, joined in October of 2005. Nearly instantly she spread herself out over multiple sections of the boards and made herself well known in a well-rounded fashion. Spanning primarily between the Hardwired, Anime Lounge, Manga Workshop, and Otaku Lounge within the first couple of months of her joining, it was made undeniably clear that three things would become synonymous with her name throughout her duration at Otakuboards: Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and crazy fangirl-ness. Being well aware of who she was, and proud of it as well, she has professed her fondest interests and never once held back because of a fear of how she would be perceived. It wasn?t very long after she joined that the GFX artist we have come to know and love today got her start. December of 2005, she showcased her first photoshop projects and left them open for criticism. Realizing her inclination, she undertook many requests under a modest attitude that she had always expected someone better to come along and make a better banner or avatar then she had. Within the next year?s time she would flourish into one of those elite GFX artist that she had always expected to one-up her. Aside from satisfying many requests, the ever popular OB Graphics Worm was another project KW has taken part in. In March of 2006, KW found herself taking part in her very first RP in the Adventure Square. .hack//THE WORLD created by Nomura. It was the beginning of another discovery that would see her spending much time in the Square, participating in many more RPs to this day. Taking part in many RPs, once upon a time KW started her own RP which enjoyed mild success. It was themed, of course, based off of Kingdom Hearts, and was entitled Kingdom Hearts: Shadows of Fate. An all around great member with many friends on the boards, with a knack in both GFX and RPing, Keyblade Wielder has left her staple and continues to enjoy her time here as one of OB?s most balanced members. Though with everything she may be known for, what really makes her shine is in fact her personality. Ask anyone that has even posted in a thread with her, let alone those with the privilege of knowing her, she is one of the friendliest and kindest people you could ever meet. She'll not only be your shoulder to cry on, but cry on her shoulder along with you. She'll always have a smile waiting for you if you need it, and if you don't need it. But when you see it, you'll know to be greatful for it. Taking the path of most resistance not only on the boards but in the world as well, she is genuinely liked because she truly is a wonderful human being. -

Gah, DB did you not get my second PM!? >.>, lol. I was kidding around about voting myself for best overall player. However it would seem not to make a difference since my real vote would go to Allamorph, SunfallE would still win. *throws popcorn at DB for trying to make him look greedy* I also would have made my choices a little more elaborate if I knew you were going to list them, lol. All of mine are the shortest. But woot @ the three awards I hoped to win ^_^. I know of a certain sunflower who is glad she got her expected award too :p. Edit - Ok, me and DB figured out why he didn't get my PM, lol. Conclusion: I'm an idiot. But yeah, Allamorph I had voted for you for best overall player, but SunfallE totally ate you up it seems ;P. -
Sci-Fi Showdown is a friendly contest pitting two friends and rivals to once again showcase their writing skills. SunfallE and BKstyles faced off in the Otakuboard Survivor 4 challenge which saw them face each other in a contest of poetry. Now, the two of them have come together and agreed on a contest more suited to their talents. SunfallE and BKstyles will offer their versions of a short story following the mutually agreed guidelines, and the panel of judges, Revelation, Sandy, and Ezekiel will decide the winner when both entries have been put up. The rules of the contest are as follows: Contestants: BKstyles and SunfallE (nobody else!) Theme: Space Sci-Fi Length: 7-8 pages on Word Deadline: Friday, July 13th Aside from everything specified, the contestants will have the freedom to incorporate what they wish into the story as long as it follows the theme. They will be judged on how well they represent the genre, their creativity, and overall how well written their story is. * * * * * The thread will remain open upon the completion of our entries for comments and critisisms. Feel free to post your uncensored thoughts, of course within the guidelines of the rules and regulations.

In fact he'll admit that he isn't the smartest person in the world, and wouldn't really care much. Hiro prefers acting on how he feels to keep up who he is and not being indecisive. Not caring much for following the crowd, Hiro will usually be the first person to suggest something if hanging out with friends or if he's working on something for work or school, or will just take things into his own hands. One Month Ago A bright light overcame the skies of Tokyo, pale green in color and short in duration. The attention of the population wandering the streets, gazing out windows, and going about their business on the busy Friday night was captivated for the moments the light filled the sky, clashing with the natural light of the full moon. As it faded, as did the memories of each person who saw it. As if a fleeting daydream, or a prolonged sense of déjà vu. It was elsewhere however outside of Tokyo where there was one person who not only kept his memory of the light…but was directly effected in a different fashion. It was a dark and small room, four torches lined the small pathway on each side with a throne in front and a locked double door in the back. The boy, 18 years of age, looked up from his forced kneeling position and noticed the man sitting in the throne, and the man standing beside him. The listless face of the seated man changed very little, as the man who appeared to be an adviser to him of some sort began to speak. ”Hiro Takeda, you’re time has finally come.” the elderly man called out to him. Hiro squinted his eyes as he rose up from the ground, trying to analyze what those words were supposed to mean. One minute he was on a date with one of the hottest girls in school on a normal Friday night, next thing he knew he found himself here…in this drab and ominous room. Hiro remembered the pale green light, but couldn’t put together any rhyme or reason. All the events leading up to here just seemed to be realistically unfeasible. Certainly…his time finally coming couldn’t mean that he was dead? ”Where the hell am I? Who are you two jokers and what’s with the theatrics? I hope you realize what you pulled me away from!” Hiro barked. He took a defensive stance in case the two men had any intention of attacking him. The face of the seated man changed gradually, turning into a very subtle grin. ”Indeed, you are meant to be the true recipient of this tome.” The words echoed, taking Hiro by surprise. Before him, a black hard-covered book with inscriptions on its cover appeared as if materializing out of nothingness. Hiro took a step back and threw his arms up infront of his face. The elderly man walked down the two stairs between the throne and Hiro’s location and stood just feet away from the perplexed high school senior. Hiro took a better look at the book and felt his muscles tense, ”What the…this is…the book from my dreams.” ”You’ve seen it since you were a young boy…haven’t you? Unable to explain it’s significance…unable to make any connections. It will all become clear to you now. Take it, Hiro…read from the first page and you will meet your destiny.” the seated man explained. Hiro took the words in reluctantly, still feeling like this itself was more like a dream. But the man was right, as far back as he could remember he would have reoccurring dreams at times about that very book. The details of each dream were always hazy afterwards, but the one element that remained concrete was it’s exact appearance. He didn’t know what to make of it, but something about it drew his hands to the book almost as if on instinct. He took it in his hands and stared at the cover for moments after moments. ”The time of the Adjutants has come once again, Hiro. You are among eight who are bestowed a tome to assist you in your struggle. Once all the chosen are decided upon and sent back to the real world…you will become aware of what you must do. If you want to know the purpose of the Adjutant’s existence…you may ask your own” Hiro took in the words and as if mesmerized opened the cover of the book and began to read the incantation on the first page. Moments after, strands of purple light emitted from the book and began circling around the vicinity in front of Hiro. It wasn’t long until a figure clad in armor began to take form, a large claymore like sword in his right hand. The figure fully materialized in a kneeling position, and stood up slowly to look ahead at the person who had just summoned him. ”I am Berith the Reaver. So…you’re my new master are you? Well, your attitude is certainly interesting…I hope you’re ready for the events to come, Hiro Takeda.” the figure spoke, introducing himself in a stern and human like voice. A human like voice, but yet at the same time…he did not seem completely human. Hiro quickly glanced up to look at the man who had done the majority of the talking, but before he knew it he was back in Tokyo in his apartment. Startled, he began looking back and forth vigorously, and eventually rushing to the window to look out of it. ”I’m back? Was it…was it actually a dream!? Dammit, then why the hell does my head hurt so much.” Hiro sighed and walked over to his bed. He sat down and looked at the time, a good half an hour had passed since he remembered being transported by that green light. He figured that would be the last time Mina would accept to going out with him, she probably wasn’t used to her dates disappearing all of a sudden. Hiro rested his head on his pillow for a few moments and turned his head toward his nightstand…where he saw the book. ”Gah!” Hiro sat up and went to grab the book. He examined it, it was indeed real. The entire incident…was real. He turned to the page he read from…the words were gone. All that was there now was his name. He remembered the entity that he summoned, repeating his name to himself, “Berith the Reaver”. He remembered his look well…as he turned his head the ominous feeling he had since seeing the book once more came into solid form as once again the dark clad knight stood there, staring at Hiro. He remembered the words the man told him as he looked down at the book again, then back up at Berith. ”Alright…Berith. Tell me everything I should know.” * * * * * Welcome to The Adjutants, an RP with a concept similar to that of the anime Fate/Stay Night. Though knowledge of the show is hardly necessary to participation, as I have put much time into the differences and elaborations on my take of the concept. Each of you will receive a tome in a similar fashion to Hiro which will be the basis for summoning your Adjutant. The reason why the time of the Adjutants has once again come and the purpose for receiving their assistance is still a mystery to all but the man who has chosen those these tomes are bestowed upon. But soon, all will become clear. We'll cut right to the chase and I'll list the Adjutants that you will have to choose from: * * * * * [strike]The Reaver[/strike]: - Taken by myself Weapon: Serrated Claymore Heavily armored hybrid knight with the ability to cast dark and ailment magics, Second strongest of the Adjutants in physical attacking power, equal to the Valkyrie in defense. The Reaver favors strong will and initiative in his master, and is loyal to him. The Reaver is inclined toward battle and will willingly fight once ordered to or when convenient. Qualities: -Strong attacker -High defense -Dark/Ailment magic -Low resistance to magic -Average movement -Mana drains quickly Skill Set: 4 dark/ailment skills The Valkyrie: Weapon: Short sword and shield Heavily armored holy knight skilled in curative and regenerative magic. Second highest defense of the Adjutants along with The Reaver. The Valkyrie favors humility and altruism in her master, and acts in kind. She will defend herself and her master and not full out attack unless ordered to do so. The Valkyrie is naturally kind but is not devoid of subjective thought. Qualities: -High defense -Regenerative magic/skills -High resistance to magic -Mediocre movement -No offensive magic -Mediocre attacker Skill Set: 4 curative/defensive skills (regeneration/damage shield/etc) The Halberdier: Weapon: Halberd Lightly armored soldier combatant, with knowledge in self-enhancing magic. Long melee range and most balanced of the Adjutants. Favors confidence and obstinacy in his master, and finds amusement in these qualities. The Halberdier enjoys being given leeway with his actions but must adhere to his master’s orders as any adjutant. He is known to taunt and talk to his opponents while he attacks them. Qualities: -Strong attacker -High defense -Slow movement -No magic -Low resistance to magic -Heals from injury quickly Skill Set: 3 offensive/defensive skills * * * * * If you've any questions referring to any of the details of the adjutants or what is acceptable for skills (obviously nothing overboard, be reasonable when choosing your Adjutant's skills and the effects), feel free to PM me. Just adhere to the amount of skills allowed to the Adjutant class you select and the few guidelines. I will probably put up an underground thread eventually as well. Like in the opening (which happens to involve my character, my official sign up will be put up at a later time), you may give your Adjutant a name and have him introduce him or herself to you and despite what it says in their descriptions, you may make them any gender you wish. * * * * * On to the sign-up sheet: Name: Whatever you'd like, the story will take place in Tokyo but your character does not necessarily need to be japanese. Age: Between 16-35, though I want a mostly young cast. Appearence: Pic and/or description Place of Origin: Where is your character from? Personality: Self-explanatory Adjutant: One of the above Appearence: Pic and/or description Adjutant's Skills: According to the guidelines. In the first chapter, each adjutant will only know two skills, so point out the two they will initially know. The others they will learn as the story goes on. Bio: This should include receiving the book, your first meeting with your adjutant, and your adjutant's name and such. Well then, remember that sign ups are not first come first serve and happy creating :).
