I listen to Japanese music, but not so much j-pop. In my opinion the greatest bands are Dir en grey and D'espairs ray. As others have already stated they are very hardcore. But I don't only like them for their music, also their visual style, they are visual kei bands after all.

What do you do when the power goes out?
soulrls replied to CyberPandaLove's topic in General Discussion
What do I do when the power goes out? I either listen to my mp3 player or watch anime on my portable dvd player. And when they run out of charged battery power I pray for the electricity to come back on. I'm hopeless without technology. -
Yes it's unfair to cancel a show in the middle or not air reruns. But it's not as productive, it's a waste of time and money, to air a show that's only going to get 1/3 of the viewers as american made comedies. regardless of how 'dumb' they are. Although I have no idea why people watch 12oz Mouse.
I know how you feel... you could buy an entire series and watch it over and over again, but there's just nothing like the feeling of seeing a brand-new episode, the anticipation of waiting for the next one... I love it.
I feel this way to. But I still enjoy watching the anime that got me into anime like megaman(the first one) and flint the time detective and all the other anime Fox Family used to show, just for nastalgia. but I also miss Cowboy bebop, not that it doesn't come on adult swim all of the time, but I still miss watching new episodes.

I'm inspired every time I see or read an anime/manga with a good dramatic storyline and/or art styles such as those done by Kaori Yuki and Clamp. Although when reading their manga I find myself admiring the quality of the drawings rather than paying complete attention to the stories.
Defintely Kaori Yuki's Angel Sanctuary. Her art is so beautiful, Gothic yet delicate, and her storytelling is wonderful. I wish I could do manga like her!
I agree, it makes me jealous.

Favorite animal? I'd have to say cats, that is unless catgirls count. J/k. :D Yeah, think I'll go with cats. :catgirl:

I hope this post does not count as spam. Ziggy, as far as I knew bullet for my valentine was considered a metal band, although I was listing the bands I was currently listening to and not labeling a type. There are other bands I am into that I know are metal. And as for them being emo and not rock, I was under the impression that emo had evolved from punk rock. And was therefore a form of rock. Although I could be wrong, since I found this out on the internet which is definitely not the most accurate way to find knowledge.

Manga What's the weirdest manga that you've read so far?
soulrls replied to darkartic's topic in Otaku Central
The wierdest manga I've ever read is the collection of Hideshi Hino horror manga. The main thing that made it weird is the way he draws such disturbing scenes. But, Excel Saga was also a strange read. -

I only listen to metal and a lot of the many different types of rock. Main bands I listen to as of lately are Panic! at the disco, The Used, Finch, and Bullet for my Valentine. And I absolutely cannot stand country music! It sends chills over me just thinking about it.

If a show doesn't get good ratings what use do they have to buy more episodes if they aren't going to make any money off of it? I am actually surprised to see that adult swim shows the amount of anime that it does, considering the comedic american cartoons gets much higher ratings.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you might be talking about Roujin Z. Can't be sure because I've never seen it, but it sounds familiar.
