I also started playing Metal Gear Solid 2 again on normal, but in all honesty, I'm not feeling this game anymore. The thought of having to going in the water to find
Emma
is just so off putting. I dread that girl as well as that part.
I played through MGS2 again recently as well. It's definitely a memorable game for me, but the underwater sequence as well as the escort mission was rather tedious. I loved the final parts of the game after that though. Anyway, I've just started up Final Fantasy XIII on my 360 and got through the introductory tutorials. Pretty cool game so far, but the combat-focused gameplay is definitely different from previous FF. I also need to get back to playing some open world games I've been meaning to finish a long time ago like Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

FIFA World Cup 2010 - South Africa
AdarianDreamer replied to OMNOMNOMALY's topic in General Discussion
The South Africa vs Uruguay game was entertaining, but ended up to be a lopsided 3-0 win for Uruguay. Tough luck for the hosts, as it looks like they'll be the first host nation to miss out on the second round. But hopefully, that will make mean the annoying vuvuzelas will be less prominent. -
I'm one of those neurotic gaming fans. Metal Gear Solid 2 is by far my favorite game from the series, and I completely abhorred MGS3 so much that I nearly smashed the disc after I beat it. It made me feel like Hideo Kojima sold himself out and went mainstream pop with MGS3. I felt like I had just beaten James Bond Goldeneye after I beat Snake Eater. The stupid references to 007 throughout the game just made the horribly contrived plot worse, but the most insulting thing about the game was probably the hack job of a character known as Eva. It was completely unnecessary added dose of sex appeal that Hideo used to probably try to lure a few more adolescent boys into the MGS fanbase. MGS2, however, had probably the best storyline imaginable in a way. I mean it did something that no other novel, movie, anime, etc. had done before, to my knowledge. It shattered the fourth wall. I'll spoil it if I say anymore. But I'd say that Metal Gear Solid 1 is the game that made the series. It's a classic, easy to complete and understand, and a must play if you have a PS1 or PS2. Also, the original version is better than the Twin Snakes because it doesn't leave out any important dialogue or trade in the quality of the script for more action. I played through Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 recently on Subsistence, and they were pretty fun for NES games. But I would say that the story of Metal Gear didn't really pick up until MGS1.

Gaming Memorable/Favourite Gaming Moments
AdarianDreamer replied to celestialcharm's topic in Noosphere
LMAO! I love screwing around in Final Fantasy games. I've attacked my allies far too many times but I've never thought of it in that way before, lol. That brings up what I think my best gaming memory is when I beat Final Fantasy 7 with two of my friends in a little over 24 hours about 7 years ago. It was really cool taking turns playing and getting all confused after seeing the story for the first time, and getting Sephiroth at the end. I think that was the night I become addicted to video games. Beating Final Fantasy X was also a great memory for me. I think FFX's ending is my favorite video game ending except for maybe Metal Gear Solid's multiple endings. -
That is rather convincing that arguably the best innovator in the history of video games could denounce gaming like that. If any game would to be considered art, it would definately be the Metal Gear Solid games. They were the first interactive movies and really changed the face of entertainment all over the world. There are also other games that really convey powerful messages previously mentioned here like Final Fantasy. However, Hideo Kojima is famous for twisting his words around pretty well. For all we know, he could have looked at some crappy paintings or something that some people consider classic art and thought that he didn't want games in the same category as that. It all depends on what you consider art as silver_blade said earlier. And for those of you who think that the messages in video games don't apply to today's world such as the political controversies and issues, I think Metal Gear Solid is the perfect game for you if you haven't already played it.

I'm in a band called "Cybernetic Effect" with pretty much no music talent lol. It's barely even a band right now, it just me and a few of my friends getting together to create a few techno beats and mix them with other rhythms and then sample it with music software until it becomes our own track. The motivation for doing this was originally to create new tracks for Dance Dance Revolution, so we have about 4 different instrumental techno songs composed. But we recruited a capable vocalist, and I can play acoustic pretty well, so we've started working on a few vocal songs that combine acoustic and keyboards with techno. Our lyrical style is pretty much about angst and trying to find ways to overcome it. Overall though, my band's not anything I should brag about yet. Anyway, do any of you guys have MySpaces or something for your bands. You all sound interesting enough to check out.

My theme song would be BreakStuff by Limp Bizkit. Lol, "It's just one of those days!"

Anime Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children. Is it anime?
AdarianDreamer replied to a topic in Otaku Central
I would consider it anime because if you look at the characters, they are actually designed in the anime style of artwork such as the larger eyes and other facial features. Regardless, it was a pretty good movie. I've always associated Final Fantasy with anime.
