Dumb or annoying TV Commercials
The Spectacular Professor replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
Anyway, I thought the Head-On [/B'] commercial with the complaining guy was absolutely brilliant. I laughed until I nearly cried just at that guy's voice. Perfect.
I'll admit, it's a pretty interesting campaign scheme. Advertise a headache cure with a commercial that gives people headaches so they are forced to try the product which is a placebo but they don't know that because by the time they get back from Wallgreen's the headache is gone so the product appears to work. Hah. I'm out of school. I can make as many run-on sentences as I want. -
Three most recent CD purchases
The Spectacular Professor replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
Okay this is a thread for those poor misguided souls (like myself) who still buy CDs instead of having our friends burn copies or own iPods or MP3 players (My mom's thinking of buying me an iPod for my birthday though I don't know why) I can't help it, I'm in my car more than I'm anywhere else and I need my CDs. I'm just curious, what are your three most recent CD purchases.[/color']
iPod? it's because it's just the way to go nowadays. get a casette adaptor and you don't even need to fumble with your CD's anymore. I miss my iPod... anyway: As far as I remember the most recent legit CD's of mine are: Poodle Hat and Dare to be Stupid by "Weird Al" Yankovic, because i'm a big fan and an incurable dweeb, and who can resist the unique allure of "Couch Potato," anyway? The other one is Intermission by dc Talk , which is the most awesome contemporary christian group evah. This is a Greates Hits Album and the music is just that. -
Gaming Favorite Video Game Villains
The Spectacular Professor replied to Aberinkula's topic in Noosphere
So where are all the great female villains? Has more than one been mentioned in this entire thread? ~Dagger~
I dunno, Rouge the Bat? Kind of more of an antagonist than an actual villan, but she can take care of herself, which is a refreshing change of stereotype. -
uh, you know that one that adult swims been playig with the deoderant or something? the one with the random words. thats so irritating. also, the stuff that your supposed to apply directly to the forhead.
AWWW! STUPID, STUPID, STUPID! HOW can I have possibly forgotten abot Head-On? Makes me want to apply my foot directly to someone's face. And the new series that actually has the unmitigated GALL to brag about how annoying the original commercial was! I've seriously thought about buying the entire stock from my local Wallgreen's just to set them on fire in front of the store. They don't even work, being 99% wax and all. It's basically an annoying, overhyped placebo. -
>_< I swear DB there should be a method where the member gets infamous for being a known pervert. Or for finding a way to mention sex in most of their posts. Like that horrible would you rather one you did. o_O That and reading that was seriously freaky! So yeah, no pats on the back, especially [/I']if it's you! :p
Actually, This seems to call for... Method 74: Perv it up. Talk dirty. Mention hentai in every post. Say "that's what she said" in response to things that don't even sound remotely sexual. Pros: You will get noticed. I guarantee it. Cons: you just might get arrested. Mentors: 2007digitalboy.

Dumb or annoying TV Commercials

Now that I think of it, Sunsilk is getting on my nerves, too. The blondes vs. Brunettes thing is so overdone that it is now a rare occasion that I laugh at a new blonde joke. Most of the new ones are crap anyway. -
Says the One Piece crazed Crocidile fanatic who almost only posts on the "One Piece" thread.
Well, if somebody else would post there once in a while, I wouldn't get modded for it, would I? Anyway, Sojiro, According to your style (and White's earlier comment,) you are a Love Hina fanatic who needs to get Photoshop. And you hang out at the YSK every waking moment (which I should start doing.)

Dumb or annoying TV Commercials
The Spectacular Professor replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
It's a parody of a song from the musical Cabaret, I think. If not from Cabaret then from SOME musical. The first time I heard it I laughed really hard, because one of my friends used to sing the real song all the time to get on my nerves. Hah.
Cabaret is a great show, but if you suck at parodies, leave your disaster off the airwaves. It just gets on people's nerves, is all. -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPhAHYAsWgQ Seriously, though, that yogurt commercial for the yoplait whips. That song... ugh. "My Little Fluffy One..." What the crap is that supposed to mean, anyway? Plus the whole stereotypical obnoxious french lover voice just turns it into a train wreck. The worst part is probably the fact that the song is STUCK IN MY HEAD. -
Hey!!! Who does that remind you of Ace? Method 73: Be absolutly cool, all knowing, philosophical, and do so in a nice way so that everyone looooves. When I try, people tell me to change my font color. (I know, I'm a conformist) Mentors: Charles
That's what I meant to imply, dude.

Okay, so I was sitting here and thinking: "Why doesn't the OB have any threads about Monty Python?" Well, now it does. Monty Python's Flying Circus is a British variety show where the cast members put on hilarious sketches, such as the "Dead Parrot" and the "Spanish Inquisition." You may think it sounds a lot like Saturday Night Live, but that's because SNL was originally based on Monty Python. it's running in syndication on the BBC, so see it if you get the chance. The series has also inspired a number of movies, such as "Life of Brian" and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." So, tell me what your favorite skit, movie or actor is and why. I like the "Spanish Inquisition" because of the Over-the-Top exaggerated voices and the fact that they keep messing up and redoing the whole thing.

I love Black Cat! Ironically, the "XIII" banner of mine was chosen before I even read the first chapter (Never actually seen the anime.) After I started reading, I thought it was the weirdest coincidence, but it made me even more attached. All the personality quirks (like Train's milk obsession) just make it better and better.
Anyway, I almost find this offensive. If I had to pick my single least favorite member on these entire boards... >_> it would be him. XD
Awww. Am I in the running, at least? Anyway: Method 70: Actually post once in a while. As 2007digitalboy said, if you're everywhere, it's hard not to get noticed. This is where I fail. Mentors: 2007digitalboy, DeadSeraphim. Method 71: Always be right Okay, not technically "right," but post stuff others can't argue with. For example, if someone asks you what the meaning of life is, give 'em a dictionary definition. Most imoprtant person in your life? HUGE pic of Jesus Christ. Mentors: DeadSeraphim Method 72: Troll your butt off This is the one where you either type Leik diss OMG!!! or pick a member and follow them around flaming them. The upside is you get noticed. The downside is you get IP banned and most of your posts are deleted. Mentors: Well, you don't wanna tread this path anyway. But... maybe me on a bad day.
This is my cat Misty. She's wonderfully hesitant, loving, and at the same time annoying. But she rocks, anyway. She was also featured on WiiKitty.com!
Oooh, Package-sized! Now I'm jealous. Just kidding! That's kinda cute.
I'll bite. Aceburner, your signature tells me you seriously need to consider getting Photoshop. You love anime. I can tell this because you have a sword in your banner, you mention some random quote that sounds anime-ish and you're happy that One Piece is coming back. Therefore you are an Otaku that needs to get Photoshop.
EEENT! Wrong! Sojiro47 needs to get photoshop, although I should consider it, too. The quote is Sara's (lovingly stolen from an SAT booklet, wasn't it?,) who I know from the above avatar is... male. and cool beyond words. and part of the OB staff. There we go!

I have a cat. and a dog. The dog is fine. Her name is paddy and we think she was abused by her previous owners, as I was about 6 when we got her and I was the only one who could get near her. she seems to be getting on in years, however. My cat is a recent aquisition. We found her as a kitten mewing in the middle of the street a couple of years ago. We brought her in the house with no intention of keeping her and I named her Motor (hey, I'm not good at this. at least it's not Black Hayate.) We call her Mo for short. Her previous owner appears to have been Satan. She becomes extremely irritable, claws me up and then begs me to feed her, after which she gorges herself, forgets to chew and vomits all over the place. Five minutes later, she wants more. I'm thinking of renaming her Nicole Ritchie. She has her moments, though.

Why are women so confusing?
The Spectacular Professor replied to PieFlavoredPie's topic in General Discussion
It's true. Women are confusing because people are confusing. You spend five minutes of your life around me and I guarantee you what little brain you have left by the end of the session will have totally desintigrated within a week. And you definitely won't like me as much as you like said girl. By the way, Sara: Nice going on defending them pie-people, but... I'm more of a dutch apple kinda guy. How do you tell if they like you? (Actually, how do you tell a pie-person's gender?) -
Gaming Favorite Video Game Villains
The Spectacular Professor replied to Aberinkula's topic in Noosphere
Okay, my top two are for the same reason (and one's name is a spoiler in itself.) Here goes:
Mithos Yggdrasil
and "Demon King" Dhaos ("Tales of Symphonia/Phantasia) : One thing I love about these two games is the fact that the villans aren't really villans. They are always trying to do what's best for their people. They're just going about it the wrong way, and so must be defeated. This adds depth to their characters and shows their humanity. Unlike the typical 2-Dimensional "I am evul I will kill j00z!" guys. Ganondorf Dragmire/Mandrag Ganon (Yes I know "Dragmire" and "Mandrag" were gimmicks, but that doesn't make them any less awesome.) ("Legend of Zelda" series) : Then again, sometimes you just wanna tear it up with some evil, unredeemable jerk. Gan the Man does this excellently, even making giant pigs seem cool and menacing (of course, Ganon has a neck.) -
How Strong Is Your Hadouken?
The Spectacular Professor replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in General Discussion
So I ask you, how strong is your hadouken, and how do you use it?[/SIZE']
I've gotten to the point where I can fire off one with each hand (It's all in the wrist.) I actually inherited mine. My first was given to me by Chuck Norris, which explains why HIS SF character only roundhouse kicks (Oh.) The second one is from Regal Bryant, who gave it to me since he wasn't using his hands anyway. Remember Hiroshima? That wasn't me, but my Hadouken would look something like that. I use it to play practical jokes. You ever have an outhouse blow up on you, thinking it was your fault? Priceless. -
an increadibly hideous Lloyd from TOS
I didn't ask for that. You see spikes with a ponytail anywhere on that sheet? Oh, and, um... you misspelled "incredibly." :whoops:
