The Padded Room Party: Random Thoughts
This. Although I do have to ask how they got your number to begin with. If you gave it to them, then I dunno what to say, although I get the impression you didn't. If a friend gave them the number, then I'd go find them and clonk them over the head.
I can think of one source who would be stupid enough to spread my number to someone like that. Still trying to figure out how to bring this up in casual conversation so I can see whether or not it's worth it to cut all ties with her yet, as she tends to tread the line rather frequently. -

Some exceedingly polite young lady or gentleman at my school just texted me to helpfully inform me that I have the appearance of a homosexual and am obligated to trim my facial hair. Why is there no block option on my phone and why can I run a search, but the results cost me? -
Speaking of which, How To Train Your Pet Dragon was amazing. :)
Pay attention to this part, folks, it's very important and 100% truth. Minus the "Pet" part, but eh. As for the oxygen question, humans actually breathe a pretty complex assortment of elements. Straight oxygen gets you high, but you can't live on it. It could just be that there's enough oxygen, but the other gases present are poisonous to humans. Personally, I was more preoccupied with the fact that a trained Marine employed as a bodyguard would willingly wander away from the group he's protecting to poke some giant flowers. So Rune Factory 2 is so far infinitely superior to the first one. -

Nehs, if we did that the Naruto thread would cease to be any fun at all. As for me, I don't mind the flashback so much. A couple steps down from the nonstop insanity of Marineford, but I'm not bored by it. At the very least, I think Sabo is kinda cool. BUT SERIOUSLY HIPPO MAFIA. -
Man, I gotta find a way to be more consistent with this series. One moment I'm catching everything, and the next I'm missing stuff. Exactly how accurate is Brotherhood to the manga? I just can't seem to catch the anime as much as I want to, and I think I just might read the manga. I could go to Funi's streaming site, but I want to hear it in english, unless they're streaming english eppy's? O_o.
Other than the first episode and a recap ep somewhere down the line (which actually isn't that bad as far as recap eps go), it's the exact same story, so all you'd really be missing out on is the animation during some of the fight scenes. Usually it's not that big of a deal, but a recent one with Mustang was truly incredible. As for catching up on the dub, I've personally been using a DVR, but if that's not an option for you, you could check Adult Swim's website or Hulu for the episodes you missed (though I'm not sure if you'd actually find them there). The dub isn't showing up on FUNi's site, though, which is kind of a bummer.

I think we're ignoring what is clearly the most important thing about this chapter. SIR CROCODILE IS NOW IN CHARGE OF THE HIPPOPOTAMUS MAFIA. I mean hot damn, flippin' hippos. Those things can bite you in half if you so much as sneeze in their presence, and Crocodile has gathered a large group of these creatures and formed an organized crime ring with them. DAYUM. -

Infernape committed two horrific sins that prevent me from liking it. The first one was basically BEING BLAZIKEN. We had this exact Pokémon one generation ago. The only difference is it looked cooler. The second one was being a monkey, which was fine for Aipom, but with Infernape it turned it into the epitome of gimmicks. It's a monkey that's on fire. The only thing missing is it being a ninja. Also, it has a tail, so its name is completely inaccurate, but that's just nitpicking. I have no real opinion about Empoleon, but its typing is pretty cool. Torterra was an awesome ankylosaurus with a continent on its back. doesn't get much cooler than that. -
Out of the ones listed on the poll, I actually think Lupin III would make an excellent live-action movie, since the series never really bothers to take advantage of the stuff it can only get away with in an animated medium (ignoring that scene in Castle of Cagliostro where they drove up a cliffside). A Lupin III movie wouldn't be all that difficult to make appeal to people unfamiliar with the franchise, either. All they'd have to do is bill it as Ocean's 11 with a better soundtrack and a more interesting cast. In general, I don't really think many of the other series on the poll would work very well in live-action, period, but I might be willing to rethink that now after seeing the Speed Racer movie, which was fantastic because it knew what it wanted to be, made no apologies for how absurd the series it was based on was and just ran with the premise as fast as it could. The result was a live-action cartoon. And it was glorious. Also this: More of that and less of Dragonball: Evolution plzkthx.
Fully body scans of the trainers. ...I'm not sure what's going on with the female trainer's shorts, but otherwise, awesome.
These are actually both great designs. Other than the very, very top of the female Trainer's hair, I really can't find anything to complain about for either of them. I actually kinda like the female's shorts, weird as they are. They remind me of cutoffs. Also, hooray! A female trainer I can find attractive without raising some awkward questions about myself! As for the starters, I'm a little disappointed, but none of them seem to be Chimchar-bad, so I'm okay with them. I take back what I said about the otter, though. Its nose is going to distract me. I'm gonna have to see their final evolutions before making a choice. EDIT: I SEE RAILROAD TRACKS. Though I'm gonna have to call it on Game Freak if that's the new method of transportation, we already had a train. EDIT2: Language Warning. Poor lil' otter-thing. ;_; -
Says the one who sold his soul to Gavin. :p
Actually, I presented him with the heart of a pig, which allowed me to both keep my soul for the time being and reference a movie I haven't seen in over ten years. This amused him, so I got off with a stern lecture and a month running the produce section (he made me eat the non-saleable merchandise). Back on topic. FUNimation's site and Hulu are my go-to places for previewing licensed anime. They both have good variety and it's completely free, other than about 15 seconds every 7 minutes for Hulu ads. Granted, they don't have every anime ever, so it's not a perfect system, but it's a step in the right direction. Not that FUNi has never stooped to the level of blaming the fanbase for their own blunders (see: One Piece Simulcast debacle), but for the most part they tend to at least try to get us interested in what they're peddling. -

It's a real shame that's probably a fake. That fire scorpion would be amazing. Bonus points if it was part bug type, that would make a decent counter to Psychic types early in the game. It would also be one of the few, proud members on the "Bug-Type Pokémon worth half a damn" Club, up there with Heracross, Scyther/Scizor, Vespiquen and Yanmega. -

I just watched the Speed Racer movie. I apologize for anything bad I ever said, typed or thought about this movie. The far right one looks like it might be some kind of otter. If this is the case, I know which one I'll be choosing unless one of the other two is so absurdly awesome that the full scope of its majesty cannot be contained in a mere shadowed image. -
This is Amy Adams. She is pretty much my only actual celebrity crush. She was in Drop Dead Gorgeous, which is incidentally exactly what I would describe her as. Nowadays, you can find her in pretty much every movie ever, which I am totally okay with since she's a good actress and very easy on the eyes.

Manga Naruto Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
The Spectacular Professor replied to Ryo the Tactician's topic in Otaku Central
Typical Naruto. Get confronted with a task someone else overcame all alone in no time flat and then you try to use that guy as some kind of Ninja GameFAQs. Killerbee is outrageously badass as usual, so nothing really wrong with that part of the chapter other than the fact that it made Naruto vs. Bloodshot Eyes Naruto more boring by comparison. Although Naruto's painfully predictable battle techniques being doubled was doing a pretty good job of that already. Anyway, this confrontation is playing out pretty similarly to one from Brave Story. I hope they don't end the same way, because it worked in Brave Story, but I've had enough bleeding heart in this series. If Naruto wants my respect back, he's going to have to trash this doppelganger hard and prove to himself that aggression isn't necessarily fueled by hate. After that, maybe he'll finally get it through his thick dropped-on head that Sasuke needs to be stopped no matter how buddy-buddy they used to be. In fact, their past "friendship" (and I use this term loosely because looking back, the most friendly thing Sasuke ever did was hand Naruto a bento box to shut him up) is all the more reason Naruto needs to stop him. Friends don't let friends become murderous, sociopathic dicks. -
