1.
The only thing is that a group for pokemon rights might actually have a good idea, considering how battling is basically glorified dog fighting. And consider how the majority of pokemon caught by trainers spend their entire lives cooped up inside a pokeball inside a computer. It's not exactly fair, is it?
I actually made up a theory about that months ago, mostly in order to make myself feel better for keeping the little guys in their balls all the time. Basically, I think the balls are just transporters and the Pokémon spend the non-battle time in some type of research facility/wildlife preserve. A pokémon escaping from a ball is caused by it being strong enough to thrash about and break the transportation device. The kids are allowed to use six at a time for battle in return for providing the scientists with research subjects. It also helps them monitor growth, since battle experience is usually induced by battle experience. At least, that's what I tell myself so I can sleep at night. Doesn't justify poisoning and paralyzing them, but hey. Pokémon land has free healthcare, so no harm done.
 2.
@Citric: You never know. If it's official looking, it's official looking...
Except it's been confirmed fake. Specifically, it's actually Sugimori's art, but it's from an artbook he released a few years ago. He drew it, but not for B/W.
 3. Finished Brave Story. It is an excellent book and I recommend it if anyone happens to trip over it in the library or something. I do not regret the purchase. It's better than the movie by far, and I loved the movie. I will say that it's significantly darker than the movie is, mostly because they had to remove some major plot elements due to time constraints. If I had to sum up the difference in one sentence, here it is: I'd let my eight year old niece see the movie, but not read the book.
 4.
I both agree and disagree. While it's true that Diamond and Pearl's sales showed the world Pokemon was hardly dead, they're also the least-exciting games in the series, in my opinion. Some of the new Pokemon were cool [I don't care if people complain about the Legendary overload, I love Giratina and was excited when I found out he'd be Platinum's mascot], but, to me, it was just...dull. Team Galactic, while essentially terrorists, didn't intrigue me as much as the previous crime syndicates did [and they had HORRID fashion sense on top of it], nor did the stories of the Legendaries, and Sinnoh itself was extremely boring as a region [which is a big deal for me, since one of my favorite parts of an RPG is a good world with interesting locales and citizens]. Don't get me wrong, D/P/Pt were still good games...but compared to the previous games, they just weren't that interesting in terms of how the world worked.
Eh, my personal low point was R/S/E. Don't get me wrong, they're still excellent games and completely worthy members of the franchise, but there were some seriously weak parts to 'em. Team Aqua and Magma were just PeTA on performance enhancers, and their plot seemed completely bland without both teams butting heads, which kind of made Emerald feel like the only complete game out of all three. And then there was the water. Half the game took place on sea routes, meaning there were Tentacool every three steps and no way to avoid them without copious amounts of Repels. This is why there are only two or three caves in every game. Granted, they still have a lot going for them. Tropius and Flygon are awesome and I wouldn't mind Dive returning so long as the surfing itself is cut down from what was found in these games. They're also largely responsible for most of the more complicated battle mechanics we take for granted today, like natures and abilities. The problem is that parts of them were just not as good as the rest. I also kind of disagree on Sinnoh being boring. It's probably the most varied region we have today, plus it was the first Pokémon region to have an actual prominent snowy area. Admittedly, though, there was a bit more of Mt. Coronet than was strictly necessary. EDIT: Chibi: You can buy the Evolution Stones with Pokéathlon points on certain days of the week. Not quite as convenient as just going to the Game Corner, but it's still a steady source of them.
 5.
Design I posted earlier is a confirmed fake.
D'aww. You know, what with how these fakes keep looking better and better with each one somebody pumps out, I'm worried the official Sugimori art is destined to be a disappointment. Now with my improbable theory definitely crushed, I suddenly have this vague urge to write a Pokémon University fanfic. Must... Repress....
 6. Oh, trust me, I'm taking this with just as many grains of salt as you are, Gome. It wouldn't be the first time I've fallen for a similar convincing fake, and I don't even mean the Shaymin thing. Still, no reason I can't participate in wild and cuh-razy theorizing about potentially awesome plots. :D
 7.
The Pokemon girls stopped looking 10 since Kris.
In other words, they never did look 10. Which I agree with, but this one even less so. I'd mark her at a little less than Clair's age, maybe about 16-18. By comparison, I'd say May from Ruby and Sapphire looks to be between 13 and 15. EDIT: You know, it just occurred to me. If that's really the final design, maybe the older look is an indicator that the Player Character this time around is a college student. It be a much easier way of justifying their random association with the region's top Pokémon researcher. What if you're the student of the Professor in this one, and he assigns you a starter pokémon as part of an extracurricular research activity you've volunteered for? The college itself could teach classes about several different pokémon-related activities/potential careers, such as battling, breeding and contests. The Gym Challenge would be a different class assignment, though the Professor would use it as an excuse to have you monitor the growth of your starter. Thoughts? Probably won't happen, but I think it's an interesting concept.
 8. There is no way that girl is ten. Which I'm going to call a welcome change of pace. Also, I'm totally playing as the girl now.
 9.
Today my stalker surprised me with something. He fracking baked me a cake. How do I tell a guy that really annoys me to leave me the heck alone when he's MADE ME A CAKE?!:animecry:
Take it to the lab for testing. If it's not poisoned, eat it. Then leave him a polite note that while you enjoyed his delicious gift, you do not enjoy his presence nearly as much. If it's poisoned, offer to "share" it with him. Watch in amusement as he nervously swaps glances with both you and the cake in front of him while you sit there and expectantly wait for him to take the first bite.
 10.
this is the new *alleged* pokegirl. I'll go gay for her.
Oh gosh, this is a welcome sight after Lyra. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate her, but she lost huge points for replacing Kris and I still can't get over her stupid hat. Finally, a new Pokégirl I might actually play as. ...What? Plenty of people do it. EDIT:
Yeah, totally Photoshopped [same pose as Kotone/Lyra, and the outline of the feet and arms look rough, as if it was cut out of something bigger], but that's a good interpretation of what she might look like. I'm excited to see the official Sugimori art, either way.

 12. I named him Rich. Dunno why, he just looks like a Rich.

 14.
That's gonna suck, especially since I can't spam the Vs. Seeker like I could in Platinum, and you can't spam on the rematches via the Pokegear either.
Serebii has a nice section on the Pokégear rematches. During the times listed for the individual trainers, you can call and rematch them as many times as you want. It's not as versatile as the VS. Seeker, but on the plus side, they'll agree to a rematch every single time you call them during the designated timeframe. All you have to do is leave the Route they're on and call them again.
I spend part of my Mondays beating the crap out of Youngster Joey's Raticate over and over again just to prove a point. It's oddly satisfying.

 15.
This totally belongs in the Festival of Chamber Softly Clad.
Why yes, yes it does. Post in my section, people. It gets lonely in there. ;_;
 16. So guys, how long has Jay from Clerks been one of Shanks's pirates?
 17. Ready when you are, man. Meet me in chat. I just played through seven grueling rounds of Battle Factory. My reward? 5 Battle Points. 5 Battle Points won't even buy me a Choice Scarf. Why the crap should it be so tedious to earn Battle Points?
 18. Well, thanks to a combination of extremely good luck and a ten level per pokémon grinding session, I HAVE BEATEN RED. I stand at the pinnacle of Pokeymansdom. Now all I need to do is find the shattered remains of Team Rocket, conquer them and declare myself the new leader. After that, domination. Today Johto, tomorrow the world. I'll start by teaching them to carry more than three types of Pokémon and level them sufficiently so that a ten year old boy and his pet mouse can't just walk in and curbstomp them all.
 19.
non-suspicious souvenir shops that should not alarm you at all.
I felt sorry for the guy running that joint. Lance just waltzes in and has his Dragonite BURN THE GUY'S FACE OFF with Hyper Beam simply for running a perfectly legitimate and totally non-suspicious establishment.
 20. Chibi, you should know Boo by now. You are speaking to a man whose ego is hungry. Feed it.
 21. I'll try to remember to log in to AIM tomorrow. I'm gonna need the cliff's notes of important things that have happened since the retrieval of the first artifact, though. I feel lousy asking for it, but it's the only way I'll be able to toss out a post in a timely manner.
 22. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the issues addressed in this image don't exist in this universe, yes? Because Cam is not buying Atlas a mountain.
 23.
So while I'm training my Pokemon to destroy the Elite [STRIKE]Five[/STRIKE]Four, I'm working on getting Wi-Fi. Got yet another wireless router today, but no cords since I already had the ones from my last one. But the power cord thingy was too big :x So now I have to wait until tomorrow. So, Ace, I should be able to get that Chikorita to you some time this week, assuming you haven't got one already. Also, I'm starting to realize that Golem is made of fail and my long-time team of 6 is about to become a team of 5 o_e
Conveniently enough, this week is Spring Break, so it's all cool. As for Golem, it would be amazing if it weren't for the fact that a single Surf can destroy it. I prefer Tyranitar as a rock-type, which has better HP, but adds a disadvantage in the fact that I can't use it for Bruno because it'll fall apart if that Hitmonlee so much as looks at it wrong.
 24. Of course his goal is to remove all "evil", that's what makes him so reprehensible. Like I said in my last post, he can be compared to the character Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. His mission is to destroy anything he perceives as evil. He's been casting judgment on pirates in this manner for so long that he's been completely blinded to his own inner corruption. Of course, anyone who declares himself a pirate is instantly breaking the law, but the level of corruption in the World Government makes it very hard to think of most of the pirates as villainous. Akainu, on the other hand, is willing to kill a subordinate simply for speaking out against him. Granted, it would silence any further dissent, but it's a really extreme way of dealing with the problem. Personally, I actually do kind of like the character, as he's meant to be a giant hypocrite and he's really well-written in that regard. The only real problem I have with him is that he's still going after Luffy, who is completely exhausted, half-dead and probably emotionally shattered over
Ace's death
. He should be going after
Blackbeard, the more immediate threat and the far more powerful adversary as of the moment.
Granted, letting Luffy escape would inevitably lead to him becoming even stronger in the long run, but Akainu shouldn't know that if he's unaware that he's in a shonen manga.
 25.
Make sure to tell them that using the zero preceding the ten is obviously silly.
but it is ._. In other news, MISSION COMPLETE. Now to return to my Pokémon shenanigans.
