The Padded Room Party: Random Thoughts
The Spectacular Professor replied to Shy's topic in General Discussion
I just came across this little article: 49-year-old Okinawa man kills mother for hiding TV remote control All I can think is... WTF? o_O
And in the birthplace of Karate, no less. Someone must not have been paying attention in class. -

Teen charged with assaulting mom with taco
The Spectacular Professor replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in General Discussion
And to think I can't even grumble in my mother's presence without facing dire consequences. Honestly, though. The problem should never have progressed that far. If she had threatened to have him arrested before, there were obviously some major problems there. Threats of violence against parents just shouldn't happen, even ignoring the taco issue. I'd say the XBox should have gone off-limits long ago, even as an avid gamer who doesn't believe games promote violence any more than the average CSI episode. If the game is such a big deal that a nineteen year old legal adult feels the need to assault his mother with her own cooking, he doesn't need to be playing. -
I like to lurk out in the open. It's much more creepy when you see me doing stuff like looking at your profile or pretending to send you a PM. Then when you don't get one you're like. "WTF wasn't he sending me a PM? WHAT IS HE DOING?!!!"
Personally, I like to leave random people's user profiles open in another tab. Makes people paranoid if they happen to check the who's online page.
Come to think of it, it's usually Gome's. >_>
-

I once manipulated a church bible camp into dividing the children into teams named after the gangs from West Side Story. The best part is the kids named the groups themselves. EDIT: Oh yeah, and I apparently married a fictional 23 year old half-elf teacher. -

Finally managed to see Dragonball: Evolution, which did indeed manage to out-stupid Batman and Robin and Surviving Christmas, if you'll believe that. In a good way, though. I came in expecting it to be bad and was delighted when it surpassed my expectations in that regard.
Allamorph used "ain't"! THE WORLD IS ENDIIIIING!!!!! OoO
Actually, considering that the dictionary actually recognizes that word now, I'd be more worried about the double negative it begins. If I were worried about anything, which I'm not. Have I mentioned that the Shrek musical has an absolutely fantastic soundtrack? -

Kool-Aid points have been hit hard by the economic downturn, it seems. All you can buy with them now is themed merchandise and crap you can use to store more Kool-Aid. And you have to pay shipping charges for every item. Whatever happened to those totally awesome Nintendo promotions and stuff? -

Boy drinks gasoline like an idiot
The Spectacular Professor replied to Nony's topic in General Discussion
Anyone remember that time some kid died after burying his head in the sand in order to be like Gaara? Gaara never buried his head in the sand. Transformers drink oil, not gasoline. Fiction makes people stupid. -

Why am I bothering to catch up? All I learned was: LOL HEY GUYS LET'S KILL ALL THE KAGES EVEN THOUGH ONLY ONE OF THEM IS MY TARGET I'M SASUKE I SURE LOVE BEING AN OMNICIDAL DOUCHEBAG. NO YOU GUYS DON'T UNDERSTAND SASUKE IS A GOOD BOY MADARA DID IT ALL HE'S CONTROLLING HIM IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. It's like reading a bad fanfiction. Except it's being professionally published week after week and the author is being paid to produce it. That's possibly the most infuriating thing I've ever had to acknowledge. -

Anime FMA: Brotherhood Episode 14
The Spectacular Professor replied to Shinmaru's topic in Otaku Central
The fight scenes were spectacular. Ed's always got that small kick of scientist logic to balance out his stereotypical hotheaded shounen hero side and remind me why I love him so much when compared to, say, Goku or Naruto. This episode is probably one of the best examples of that in the series, and it's nice to be reminded of how great Arakawa is at tweaking the typical just enough to make it awesome. Added to that you get this episode and Armstrong's manly fisticuffs, which will always be cool, and
Bradley going medieval on Greed's *** so hard a jousting lance pops out his mouth.

The chimera deaths always kind of confused me. You only get to know these people for about two episodes and they don't get much development at all, but dammit if it isn't the saddest thing seeing them all get sliced into jerky. Especially Martel. Ick.
Also, lolcensorship.
That chunk of rock they chained Greed to was cross-shaped in the manga. They edited it for the North American manga release, and apparently they did here, too. Not such a big deal, but I find it kind of funny seeing as how the scene immediately prior shows Dorochet getting sliced clean in two.
Next week is when the Xing characters arrive. This is gonna be great. -
The stamina deal is why I never got into Harvest Moon, Ace. I borrowed someone's copy and tried it and thought, forget this. Never played it again. lol
Yeah, the system tends to be a pain at times. Though it's counterbalanced by the fact that you can just eat weeds or whatever and get it all back again. Kind of funny if you think about it too much. Also, well played, Chibi. :smirk: -
I'm certain I saw one in Hot Topic the other day, actually...
I'd question your taste in stores, but the revelation that Hot Topic stocks Chowder merchandise has made it so that I can't bring myself to insult them now. Also, got Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness for DS today. It's alright, but your stamina burns away like nobody's damn business and it's rather annoying trying to water your plants when three whole lots make you faint. Still better than Harvest Moon DS, though. 60 Harvest Sprites just to get married? Bite me, Natsume. -
I bought the last volume of Fruits Basket and the Azumanga Daioh omnibus. I cried at the end of both, even though I'd already read the entire Azumanga Daioh series...
Honestly, sometimes it's eerie how much some people are on the same wavelength. Anyway, had a great day. Hung around with some friends, ate miscellaneous junk and played a heavily modified version of Brawl. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. You're all awesome.
