You should really hate Kubo Tite then lol.
If it counts, I haven't read a single chapter of Bleach since Frosty Von Killemall effortlessly trounced his last severely overpowered opponent. Another peeve: The good old Armor-Piercing Slap. You know, when the main character is equipped with the finest weaponry the universe has to offer and can cleave the moon in twain from wherever he happens to be standing at the time, but gets knocked around by his girlfriend the moment he does anything remotely dangerous? And it actually hurts? It's one of those things that works in some situations, but is almost never used in them. It seems like this tends to pop up whenever said girlfriend was just rescued from capture or death of some kind. In those instances, it provides a double facepalm of making her seem completely ungrateful for being rescued from imminent doom and making you wonder why the hell she didn't kick the crap out of her captor herself. -

A character gets a new power that was not implied beforehand to be obtainable or even exist. It happens just when they need it and in an incredibly forced manner, just to make sure the plot moves along, no matter how clunky and pointless it feels. In other words, the basic method that Masashi Kishimoto uses to keep his stories moving. -
I hit the back of my head on the floor during karate when I was doing ground self-defense. So now I'm looking up brain diagrams to see what could be damaged and bleeding, you know, just in case. So far I have the occipital lobe as a suspect. Only I can see just fine, so I'm not sure...
A guy hand-speared me in the eye a couple weeks ago. Accidentally, of course. Then I landed on my foot weird and bent my knee the wrong way. Not enough to break it, but I ended up sitting. Then I ate some bad spaghetti and had to sit out the next class, too. Then we had a class start with 40 squats and heaven knows how many other warm-ups. That one I managed to make it through standing. Ain't martial arts a hoot? :animesmil -

A little late, of course, but hopefully now the jokes can stop even amongst the people without any respect. -
You forgot Farah and David.
I just used Micheal Jackson for comparison since they were both the same age and it was sudden. Farah had been battling cancer for a while, so it wasn't as unexpected. David Carradine I'll give ya, though. But yeah, they're dropping like flies this year. It's kinda depressing. -
I can think of half a dozen villains from Chrono Trigger alone I could really feel for.
Also, Dhaos from Tales of Phantasia. Seems like some fans tend to assume that if their object of obsession is a certain age and they've never seen anything else do something it does, it's automatically the first example. Not to sound arrogant or anything, since I was once a major offender of this one back in my One Piece obsession days, but it pays to be more wary about making "it was the first" statements without doing proper research. I can guarantee you plenty of people claiming that Tales of the Abyss ripped off the word "Sephiroth" would be rather embarrassed to stumble across the term while looking up Hebrew Mythology. On that note, I should probably play this game some time. I'm almost positive it won't live up to all the hype I always hear, but considering how popular it still is, it should probably still be decently entertaining.
Are you by chance referring to the Sevii Islands? 'cause you can't get to those until after you beat the game. :p
Actually, the first three become available after you beat the Cianwood Gym. To get the last four, you have to beat the League, catch/evolve 60 different species, hit Oak up for the National Dex, beat the crap out of some more Team Rocket members, get the Ruby and give it to Bill's nerdy friend on One Island. As a sidenote, Dratini are ludicrously hard to find in the Safari Zone. Seriously, I found more Chansey than I did Dratini. And you have to fish for Dratini. I might just put this one in a tank and mount it in my wall. -
I'm not really familiar with current 3D effects because I've always hated 3D movies, but is something wrong with the picture when you don't wear them?
They double the picture up and make it so part has a slight bluish tint and part is slightly red. The glasses force your eyes to focus on both at the same time, and that causes the 3-D effect. So if you take off the glasses, the image tends to look blurry. That being said, the glasses they gave me at the theater were pretty fantastic compared to the old cardboard ones. These things murdered your eyes like nobody's business. You can barely tell that the lenses are tinted now.
It's definitely one of Pixar's best; I think WALL-E was better, but this was pretty damn good too.
I second this only because WALL-E managed to tell more story during its first 30 minutes than many movies do at all despite having no characters in that section with vocabularies beyond that of your average Pokemon. This movie is definitely the funniest thing Pixar has come out with. It somehow managed to out-funny A Bug's Life while still managing to deliver a level of depth and genuine emotion that is hard to come by in just about any form of media. I loved every minute. And the transition from laugh-out-loud to misty eyes never felt forced, no matter how fast it happened. Oh, and my favorite character absolutely has to beSQUIRREL ...Dug.

This isn't fair. I've spent the last ten years of my life gathering rings, dealing with 2-hit limits, slaying the dragon and in general working my back off to achieve 100% completion and now Nintendo lets me skip it all? PEOPLE MUST SUFFER AS I HAVE. Actually, no. That is Naruto logic and I will shoot myself before adhering to it. Real opinion: Sure, why not. It's none of my business if people want to skip the challenge and go straight to the reward. For me, the fun is in the journey, but some people just want to see the ending, and I'm fine with that. All it means is I'll have another option I don't plan to use on most games. Though this does gain one possible benefit for less casual gamers. You know how there's always that one level that absolutely no one likes or that one cave that's absolutely full of Zubats or whatever? Yeah, skipping that after the first playthrough is pretty much something I've always wanted to do.
