Anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
The Spectacular Professor replied to Dagger's topic in Otaku Central
Yeah, that was an interesting episode, to be sure. And it did give off a distinct hinting of this will be important later.
Middle School!Haruhi being a domineering manipulative jerk on par with some of her older self's worst moments was a win for me. Plus the fact that she was completely unconcerned with the fact that the guy she was bossing around was noticeably older than her.
-

As for the non-conformists are conformists thing, that's why I think Emos are the biggest posers on the face of the earth. You called it, man. You called it. Here's what I saw. "So I have proven through my lengthy, boring, angsty life experience, that Jiraiya was wrong and we will never achieve peace. What is your answer?" "Screw you, I agree with Jiraiya." "Oh, okay. Guess I'll side with you now." And what the hell is up with the preparing for an attack thing there? I BELIEVE IN YOU NOW I HAVE TO KILL YOU. Of course, this is all explained by this simple piece of evidence: Which I interpret to mean that Kishi just doesn't give a crap anymore. I mean seriously, question mark? Of course, I may just be bitter after having read through a long, boring, pointlessly depressing flashback and ending up only feeling sorry for the dog. -

Another look at our boy Alfie leads me to believe he's probably not fertile. Then again, the real father is pretty damn young-looking himself. On that note, holy hell. How many guys has this fifteen year old girl danced with? And why are they all her age? I thought these stories tended to have at least one actual adult to pin all the blame on. Not counting parents, of course. Actually, on that note:
He claimed he had regularly stayed at her home, sleeping in her bedroom with the knowledge of Chantelle’s mum.
I need to punch someone/thing. -
Anime FMA 2009 anticipation thread
The Spectacular Professor replied to Dagger's topic in Otaku Central
Waait what, theyre remaking everything just with somewhat diffrent looks etc.. Or am i understanding it wrong, cause if they are it would be somewhat like remaking of a classic movie or something. Was it a need to remake fma...
Okay, let's see if I can make this a bit clearer than I have before. Fullmetal Alchemist began as a manga by a woman named Hiromu Arakawa. Shortly into its run, it was picked up by Studio Bones and turned into an anime series. There were two problems with this: 1: The series was not very developed yet at all. 2: The manga releases chapters monthly, so there was no time for it to flesh out before the weekly anime episodes overtook it. Arakawa realized this and specifically requested that the anime team make up their own story after catching up with the manga, since she still wanted to keep the manga's ending a secret. The anime team did that and the result is the Fullmetal Alchemist anime you know today. Present day, the manga is on chapter 95, wrapping up all its loose ends with a projected ending at chapter 100 or so. Bones decides to take another crack at an anime version and starts making a new rewrite series that follows the actual manga storyline. Arakawa agreed because her series is bound to end before they catch up again, so she gets her surprise ending while still getting to see it animated. That's what FMA: Brotherhood is. Think of it as the Hellsing Ultimate version of Fullmetal Alchemist, if you're familiar with Hellsing Ultimate. The storyline should become noticeably different sometime after the 5th lab incident. -
Holy crap,
it's Blackbeard.

Yeah, they're not bouncing back from this one. Sengoku may as well go curl into fetal position in a corner. The entire military's credibility has just been thrown into a blender, beaten unconscious and pantsed for good measure. About the only hope they have now is actually succeeding in killing Whitebeard, and that would set off a chain reaction over in the New World which would at best result in more chaos, mayhem and loss of face and at worst the complete overthrow of the World Government at the hands of a new Pirate King. -

Why am I bothering to catch up on this series? YES. You are a ninja. This buttmunch is killing your friends left and right and spewing out broken philosophies like they're going out of style (the reality is that they already are.) You've done absolutely nothing to him in contrast. On top of that, this is a war. KILL HIM. In conclusion, cut the shades of gray bullcrap, Kishi. You suck at it. It's forced, stale and loaded to the gills with narm. What the HELL happened to this series? Also: Oh, Shika. You've fallen to the Ho Yay bug. Just like every other guy in this series. Seriously, I'm pretty much waiting for the next Hokage to declare Konoha "no icky girls allowed" territory. EDIT 2: Think I'll just keep posting stupid things that piss me off about this until I'm caught up. OH I'M SORRY I JUST BRUTALLY MURDERED YOUR PARENTS RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES HERE HAVE A LOLLYPOP. Also, they attacked him. Don't tell me I should be sympathetic over that. ...So I killed Yahiko and defiled his body for kicks and giggles. Konan forgave me instantly. SO I KILLED YAHIKO AND DEFILED HIS BODY. Congratulations, Kishimoto. You have created the ninja equivalent of Twilight vampires. Oh, so Nagato isn't the one who killed Yahiko. Instead... IS THERE ANYONE IN THE UNIVERSE WITHOUT A CLAIM ON THIS OLD BASTARD'S HEAD? I'm not even going to bother with the war flashback because I can't even tell what the crap is going on here. And the crowning moment of fail. You are not cool, Kishi. Stop ripping off Gurren Lagann. -
I had begun to think that flu shots aren't as great as they are made out to be. Twice I have gotten a flu shot; in Fall 2008 and the year before. Now while I do have seasonal allergies I have had the strangest allergic reactions ever since I had that first flu shot. Swelling in my right hand causing pain similar to carpal tunnel syndrome, a swooshing sound in my right ear that lasted 4 or 5 months last year than finally went away. Not to mention the lymph nodes on the upper right portion of my body have been acting strange. I am considering these to be allergic reactions because the only thing that has any effect on them is Benadryl and I only found this out 3 weeks ago. Both times the flu shot was given in my right arm. So I've decided, no more flu shots for me. I would also like to point out that the person in that photo could do one simple thing to be on the cautious side: wear their glasses. Hanging them on your shirt collar is just not as useful. I'm assuming no contacts are in use.
That's probably a common occurrence. Most vaccinations work by infecting you with a dumbed down version of whatever they're supposed to prevent, which harasses your immune system into making antibiotics in preparation for when the real thing hits.
