I like Kenso's idea! Their loophole isn't as irritating as someone's!!! *eyeballs Ace*
Oh, fine. I guess I owe you people a legit response after those shenanigans. 1: More skill at fighting games. I like them, but they're not the fare I'm typically into. Usually they get pushed to the wayside in favor of other things and I never get much practice, which is a shame because it's really dang hard to unlock costume pieces on Soul Calibur III when you straight up suck at Guard Impacting. 2: A new computer tablet. My old one has this weird, annoying glitch that basically renders it useless. Some skill at drawing would be nice, too, but I can practice for that. 3: The imagination of Dr. Seuss. The man was a literary and visionary genius. I'd love to be able to harness that kind of creative power without the use of illegal hallucinogens just once. -
Discuss The Almagest Expedition: Backstage
The Spectacular Professor replied to Shy's topic in Theater
The way I see it, Ivan's view of Lady Bavaria is up in the air at the moment. He's basically a new addition to the Almagest family and is trying to form unbiased opinions of the other members while not getting too swept up in the family drama. He may get a little more comfortable around some of the members and start forming alliances or getting involved with some of the inner workings, but for now he's just watching and judging based on what he sees. I like to think he learned some humility back on the Alania, so he may even be able to pick up something about diplomacy from Lady Bavaria. Of course, this is all still up in the air. What I do is ultimately going to coincide with how I think Ivan would react and the direction the story is taken. (Honestly, it's probably a good thing I haven't read the original yet. Helps me think like Ivan a bit more, being so naive. :animesmil) -
As far as the stupidest movies I've ever seen are probably mostly movies nobody has ever heard of since they're IFC movies. But I didn't care for Anchorman and I'm a big Will Ferral (I just suck at peoples last names) fan, so for me not to like it was a BIG deal.
Personally, I thought Anchorman was hilarious. Of course, the whole point of half the jokes was that they were so out there that they were banking on you just cracking up at the randomness. I guess it was pretty hit-and-miss, really. As for the worst movie I've ever seen, Surviving Christmas. I was drawn in by the trailer. Tuns out it's another one of those movies where the trailer is comprised of all the funny parts and everything else is trash. And don't even get me started on the cheesy narm-loaded porn Aesop. They didn't even give any indication that porn factored into the movie in the trailer, let alone it being basically the entire plot. And the big message at the end was pretty much null and voided by the fact that the writers took every opportunity they could to hyuk up the objectification of women and make porn look funny. Then they turn around and tell us what a terrible blight on humanity it is. Listen, Hollywood. Take a stance, stick with it. It will make you look slightly less useless.

Is this technically the same fight? Because he hasn't healed and didn't have time to train. So technically this would be a
spontaneous powerup
, I guess. Props to Kubo for branching out of his norm a little.
This is, of course, until it's revealed that in his mind, Ichigo's been out for about a month, being taught how to use his new Hollow form by Evilgo inside his head.
-
So what your basically saying is all we have to do is get rid of Dawlish and everyone can live happily ever after right? Right? RIGHT!!! :D *pokes everyone* You guys and your uber silly posturing. =P
It does just so happen that Ivan kind of got his ass handed to him last time someone tried that. Granted, Ivan is a punk kid with little combat experience and wasn't well-armed at all, but hey. -

Manga Bleach Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
Indeed though based on this week's spoilers
he's managed to lose a hand trying to buy time for Orihime to heal Ichigo...unfortunately the latter appears to be undergoing Hollowification again. Cue Shirosaki's return
at the end of the chapter.

Aww, the fight's getting interrupted again to heal him up? That's kind of what happens every time. Now what I was hoping for was that hole in his chest to activate some kind of hollow-based survival mechanism or stage 2 powerup mid-battle. It would have been kind of predictable, but better than Ichigo just straight up getting his butt handed to him yet again. Besides, what unwritten shonen law says you can't discover a new power without training hard? They do it in the middle of fights in Fairy Tail. Though it looks like I was half right with the chestal gap prediction.
-
Now I've been revisiting the series, since last time I watched I only made it to the first 10 episodes, right now I'm on 23 and the website I'm watching only goes to 56. Is that the entire series up to date? Also, is the manga way ahead of the series currently?
The first series spans 56 episodes and a movie and pretty much wrapped up its own storyline. The manga is actually an entirely different story from that series. The original anime began not too long after the manga did. Unfortunately, the manga updates monthly and not enough filler in the world exists to keep a show from overtaking that pace, so the show's team had to create an entirely different story. I also understand that the author of the manga told them the ending, but asked that they change it so she could surprise her readers at the end of the manga. Anyway, all that aside, the new series coming out is actually a reboot of the franchise that will start at the beginning and likely follow the manga exactly, since it's about seven chapters from completion now. So really, you could watch this new one without ever having watched the original. Don't let that stop you from finishing it, though.

Interesting how I bump this right when we see the
real reason Greed is still alive. It's so Mustang gets a chance to avenge Hughes. This is going to be great. Pissed off Roy dishing out some mega comeuppance for one of the most tearful deaths in anime history. Cannot wait. Pride is becoming one of the creepiest little bastards to grace the pages of anything I've read recently thanks to his recent habit of eating his subordinates. I'll bet that'll be is downfall. He's going to inherit some axe-crazy tendencies from Kimbley and lose his cool.
-
"An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth." - Have no idea. This might be ofensive to all religious people, sorry. "Cathlic church sucks, all religion is fake, and all ministers are kid touchers." - Me, 6 days ago talking to my friend about me going to hell 1,665,324 times over for laughing at Jews being thrown into pits. The only reason I laughed was because the Jews being thrown reminded me of half life 2. I'm most likely going to hell, if there was one! Hahahahahahahahahahah!
First one's being taken totally out of context of you're quoting the Bible. As for Hammurabi, if I remember correctly, he was one of the earliest rulers of Babylon. Most of what I've read of his code seems to indicate that he liked thinking up excuses for having people put to death, so he probably meant it like it sounds. Personally, I'm siding with Korey, since I like the more passive version of this one. As for the second, all I'm going to say is I really hope you don't actually "live by" gross and offensive generalizations.;) -

With Hughes being back in the Voice actor thingy
thread and all.

;_; I keep forgetting we'll have to watch him die again.

Btw, does that mean we can expect new english dub voice actors when it comes to the states? I liked Mustang and Lusts voice.
Most of the original cast will probably be back. FUNi would be absolutely retarded not to bag this one as soon as they can, and Vic Mignonga and Travis Willingham not returning as Ed and Mustang would cause nothing short of widespread fan-demonium. The only problem I can see is Alphonse. Quite frankly, Aaron Dismuke ain't twelve anymore. They'll more than likely either have to find a new actor or have a ready supply of helium in the studio. -
Manga Naruto Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
The Spectacular Professor replied to Ryo the Tactician's topic in Otaku Central
Oh what the hell. Time for chapter 438 recapping. Chapter opens with Naruto, who is wearing a fox skeleton in a slightly suggestive manner. Hinata is over there bleeding on the ground for no damn reason. The village seems to have noticed her, though. Tsunade's necklace starts to act up on Naruto. I'm guessing this is a last-minute type of thing, because Kishimoto most likely forgot all about the necklace until now. Foxy boy crushes it in his hand, which sends him reeling but he's basically none the worse for the wear. Some damn seal, Go-die-may Failkage. Pein is intimidated, so he does a Force Push. Unfortunately, the force is strong with this one. Pein is the one who is instead sent flying. Another shot of Hinata bleeding on the ground here just to remind us how much of a douche Kishimoto is, and Naruto fires his lazer. Pien hit him with a rock (I think, this page looks terrible,) and the eam is deflected into a nearby mountain, which it instantly destroys. Cut back to Konoha, where all the side characters sit around and tell us what we already know for the umpteenth time. Sakura tells all the ninjas to run like little sissy girls, because, as we have told you fifteen thousand times before, Naruto is the only one able to stnd on even ground with Pein and anyone who tries to help him will be instantly stricken with plot-induced stupidity and left to die like a dog. Cut to Yamato and Sai. I think. It's been so long that it's hard to recognize them. and some random chick. She looks familiar, but I can't.... OH HOLY CRAP IT'S ANKO. So she does exist. That wasn't a figment of my imagination, then? There really was a time when this character had a whole subplot to herself? And Kishi really did shove her on a bus shortly after the Chuunin Exams? And we haven't seen her since? Once again, Kishimoto is a douche. Anyway, Sai found Nagato and Yamato has to rush back to Konoha and cut off some demon tails. Cut back to the fight, and some mega fan disservice here. Sith Pein's robe is half-destroyed, exposing much of his bruised, battered and pierced chest. Then again, I suppose that appeals to someone. Everything appeals to someone. He starts running away from the kid, who pursues him. The village notices and moves in to rescue Hinata. That's a little better, but the situation was still uncalled for, so Kishi is still a douche. Chapter ends with Pein about to pull off his ultimate technique. Didn't this idiot already pull off an "Ultimate Technique" when destroying Konoha? WTF Kishi. Make up ya damn mind. The end. -
I'm thinking we should find something nostalgic some time, if we've lifted the license rule. I'd suggest Digimon Adventure, but I'd end up recommending the subs in order to see how they compare with memories of the show. Unfortunately, the only good sub group I know of that was covering the series just dropped it (with like ten episodes to go. What the hell?) Other suggestions include Medabots and Monster Rancher (Which have no subs as far as I can tell, so the dubs would be the way to go with those.) Not right away, of course, but something to think about. Minami-Ke: Okawari is done being subbed, by the way. That would be a good place to go if we want to continue a series we've already seen.

Manga Naruto Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
The Spectacular Professor replied to Ryo the Tactician's topic in Otaku Central
Thing is, Kishi's put himself into the ultimate no-win situation here. If Hinata dies, he's wasted a perfectly good character for the sole purpose of needless dramatic buildup (for like the fifteenth time this arc.) There's no point to it, and he should have at least given her some damn exposure if he was gonna off her like that. If she lives, then there was once again no point. She did something stupid for no reason. It wasn't a heroic sacrifice, because she couldn't have done anything. She jumped in front of a saw blade. Unlike bullets, those don't stop if they hit something. Plus, a lot of people have been predicting that this might lead to a rushed, narm-y guilt-fest romance. Naruto basically has no choice now if she does live, even if he doesn't really like her that way. She basically just tried to commit suicide out of infatuation and he'll probably end up feeling like he'd be a grade-a jerk if he doesn't at least go out with her when every bone in her body becomes lightly less shattered. -
