Manga One Piece Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
The Spectacular Professor replied to Tatsubei Yagyu's topic in Otaku Central
You hate Caimie's lips? :O They're like Nojiko's! They're sooo cute! D:
I actually don't mind them much anymore. It's just that Nojiko obviously wears lipstick. Camie looks like she has a mouth inside her mouth. As for the current story, People were talking about how Law (one of the new kids) looked a bit like Gin. I doubt it's a very close relationship if there is one. I personally want to see how Sanji reacts to Jewelry Bonney. A cute girl who gorges herself and undoubtedly wastes food? This should be fun. -
"You had one of the Chosen ones in your very grasp and you DROPPED HER?!" "Please, forgive me, master! It won't happen again!" sobbed the Flymon piteously. Boogeymon was in a foul mood. He knew the prophesy, and it was coming true. Ever since those meddling kids had suddenly appeared in his territory, they had been nothing but trouble. Yanmamon, his guardian of the skies, had fallen and was no longer under his control. Seadramon was reduced to egg form. And now this bumbling idiot couldn't even defend against a bunch of sandwich chefs! The only good thing that had happened so far was the initial mix-up of partners, and he couldn't afford to lose that advantage. Curse that old man for blabbing! "You get one more chance. It's more than you've ever deserved. Now go out there and take out that annoying red dinosaur. He's the only one standing in my way right now. And I want his partner and the one with the goggles dead. DEAD! Bring me their heads as proof!" "B-but sir, I've never-" "Shut up you blubbering fool! It's kill or be killed! By me!" "Yes, sir." Watching Flymon depart, Boogeymon felt uneasy. While he knew Flymon was relatively strong and had more than enough venom in him to kill a herd of bull elephants, the fact remained that Flymon wasn't a killer. this troubled him a bit, but failure meant death, so either Flymon would do his job or Boogeymon would have a good laugh watching him suffer. "You sent for me, master?" "Ah, Renamon! I want you to keep an eye on those kids and make sure they never meet up with the resistance." "Sir, about the resistance, I believe it's still being led by Mikemon. She's a champion level and-" "And you're more than a match for her, as you've proven time and time again. Now hop to it, my little fox!" As Renamon left to fulfill her duty, Boogeymon smiled to himself. Perhaps good help wasn't as hard to come by as he had thought!

Discuss Digimon: The First DigiDestined
The Spectacular Professor replied to Ellerby's topic in Theater
We could start with Leviamon but it would take too long to finally fight him. Let's start with just a really strong evil champion Digimon. How about Boogeymon?
That's great! I was about to suggest another, but it turned out to be his Ultimate form. Small world, eh? So I was thinking he may be able to digivolve after being defeated and someone could get the first Ultimate digivolution. The trick is, we may have to stumble upon the first crest accidentally and have Gennai explain what they do after the fight. What about that? EDIT: There, I may have taken too many liberties there, but I hope not. Anyway, here we have a basic setup. I reused Renamon because she's so obedient most of the time. She is a holy digimon, however, so I doubt she's totally on his side. As for Mikemon, she's basically a calico Gatomon recolor. She has no tail ring, so I figure she's somewhere between a typical Champion and a strong Rookie. -
That's pretty much the most BS verdict I've ever heard. They were aquitted because the Prosecution's witnesses were fishy? Don't give me that. A 10 year old could tell you that testimony doesn't mean a thing if all the evidence points to brutality and murder. Even then, there is no reason any of this should have happened. Even if the guy had a gun, which hasn't been found yet and probably doesn't exist, 50 rounds on the cops' side? There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of excessive force that could have ever arisen from such a situation. And don't get me started on how this is just history repeating itself. That first incident was a load of crap, too. How do you mistake a wallet for a gun? Oh, and since when do perpetrators get to call who hands down their verdict? That's not justice, that's manipulation.
I think I should of posted that this is going to be a serious piece of fiction. So, none of those silly Saturday morning cartoons. -

Discuss Digimon: The First DigiDestined
The Spectacular Professor replied to Ellerby's topic in Theater
So I don't even know the main bad guys from the seasons (unless I do some research on Wiki... I NEED UGAMON TO COME BACK!!!)
I could just give you a list if you want. Anyway, I've been thinking of using a Demon Lord, but they've all been bosses in one of the recent games. Is that still okay, especially if I haven't played said game? For reference, I was thinking of starting with Leviamon, then going from there with the others if we like how it turned out. Of course, him being a Mega, we'd probably have to start with some random subordinates. Sound good? -
I hate having to hunt for stuff, especially any music cd's, that just annoys me to no end if I can't find a particular disk.
*coughiTunescough* Anyway, another thing I like about Spring? Not getting sports injuries. I just pulled my groin twice warming up for karate. Man this hurts... Not that I enjoy this kind of thing any other time of the year, of course.
-
It?s that time of year when winter starts to finally disappear and the days get longer and the weather steadily warmer.
For you down in Utah, maybe. I'm living in the middle of a frickin' desert up in Washington and we got snow last weekend. SNOW!!!! I ask you... But I digress. When Spring rolls around I usually find myself reading a bit more. Once in a while I also like to get out and enjoy the sunlight, as well. Other than that, I basically do what I usually do, hang with my buds or play video games and browse the internet. Sometimes all at once.
-
I basically just cruise around as I see fit. The lounge is my main hang, though. Sometimes I can't think of anything to say, so I just lurk until I do.
Does it have to be positive and do I have to actually have learned it from said anime specifically(or can it just be an idea that is reinforced by an anime)?
It should probably be positive, yeah.:p And if it's just reinforced that should be fine. It's just anything that is present in said anime, pretty much.
This thread reminds me of this: Click me! I think I even have a poster of one for Star Wars or Star Trek around here somewhere with the List! :p But yeah, I've been seeing this kind of thing for a long time. Not that it isn't fun mind you. ^_~
That's the idea. Pretty much stole it from the Kindergarden one. Didn't know there was a whole web site, though. Interesting.
And if you want to get even more into it there's the fact that in the Japanese version Mimi's crest is Purity (being pure is probably the hardest thing to do of all the crests, hah) and Joes is Sincerity. But eh.
Did not know that. Purity seems to fit her well. I still like reliability for Joe, but eh. Sincerity works, too.

OB and its members... A Family?
The Spectacular Professor replied to Nomurah!'s topic in General Discussion
I must if I'm OB's [strike]crazy[/strike] awesome motorcycle-riding uncle. ;)
HA! HA! You said it, therefore it is official. Now where's my pellet gun? -
Yeah, okay, so that other thread I started about that article... Well, this is kind of a spinoff. In fact, in this thread, we should probably just forget that article ever existed. Anyway, what we gonna do is count off the valuable life lessons various anime have taught us and how. I thought this would be a fun little activity, plus it gives you something to think about. My example: Digimon. Where do I begin? This show is so seeped with morals and life lessons that your head will explode just trying to list them all off. Let me start with the more prominent ones. -Courage (Tai's crest, and one of his defining traits as such.) -Friendship (Matt's crest, as well as a central focus of the show.) -Knowledge (Izzy's crest, it's apparently power, so study up, kiddies!) -Love (Sora's crest, they say it makes the world go round.) -Sincerity (Mimi's, obviously a virtue.) -Reliability (Joe's, there's a strong point to be made here.) -Hope (TK's, very important.) (Light is a weird one. I'm not really sure what it's supposed to symbolize, probably not to give in to evil.) -Perserverence, because no matter how hard they fall, they'll always get back up to fight for their beliefs, which is another one. -Facing hardship (
Izzy is adopted, Matt and TK's parents are divorced, lives are constantly on the line, etc.
) -Dealing with death (
Season 3. Leomon. That was harsh.
) -Negative consequences of hatred and fear (
The Skullgreymon and Megidramon incidents come to mind.
) -Accepting help from others when you need it. Hey, there's no "I" in team! (There is, however, a "me.") Well, there ya go. I'm sure we can all think of some. Get crackin'!
HAHAHAHAHA, If I leave, OB falls apart. You need a member that makes everyone feel smarter than they really are. ACK! It's gone!
My local copy was lost in one of the many hard drive crashes I've experienced lately so if the one on my old OtakuFiles site is gone then I'm not sure if it still exists.
Accounts can be merged, fyi. If you could just merge that one with this one and keep my current password. Or just delete that other account, that'd be fine with me.:p -
Excuse my ignorance, please, but what is Teh Silly Circus? It sounds pretty important...once again, sorry...:animeswea
There's an Otakupedia article on it. Basically what it was is a marathon chat session by OB members in AIM. It lasted over a week and went down in otaku history as quite awesome indeed. I was unfortunately not around at the time, so I didn't get to participate. -
The transcript for Teh Silly Circus! It's missing! I wanted to read that. Nuts. Time for another go, maybe? EDIT: I think I should add some content here. I went to Otakupedia and was browsing around. I found the page on Teh Silly Circus and thought it would be fun to read the transcript. I clicked the link and got a 404. So, does a copy still exist? And should we try to do another record-breaking chat session sometime?
wut? Beast is like a badger version of Totoro.
My thoughts exactly. This is terrible... As for the actual stories, Not sure how you can make X-Men Shoujo. Sure, there's drama and stuff, but can anyone imagine an X-Men story without Wolverine ripping someone's face off? How's that gonna work anyway? Wolverine I'm all for, so long as I don't see Totoro Beast anywhere.

I just realized one thing I like about this article: No matter how much it fails at giving an accurate representation of anything remotely resembling fact, at least he gave his lousy, half-baked opinion without pulling out the "hentai tentacle rape" card. Seriously, people. That's not all anime. Stop being stupid.
I need to try and find some boxsets of the first and third season. Those ( in my opinon ) were the best.
50 High fives. Those are my top 2 as well. Tamers first, but only slightly. As for the box sets, someone should write Disney a letter since they own the rights now. I'm sure there are enough supportive fans out there to make it a worthwhile business venture.
I was SO happy when I got to meet the voice actor who played Tai. Normally I don't watch dubs or know anything about the voice actors who play dubbed characters but Joshua was an exception. He's amazing. When I got to meet him I nearly fainted, no joke, everything was spinning and my legs felt like jelly. Wow I love my life sometimes.
I need to get to some conventions. That is so cool that you got to meet him!
Digimon was one of the best series of all time and is a classic! P.S. Digimon in Japanese is really good. If anyone ever gets the chance WATCH IT IN JAPANESE!
Agreed, and I'm trying to do that right now. I wish there were more than 13 episodes of Tamers subbed, but I also love Adventure to death and there's a decent amount of it subbed, so there I am! The openings of the Japanese versions are freakin' sweet, too.
