1.
I know i'm gonna sound gay for this but sandy does look really good for a guy, he should become the next mana.
Complimenting Sandy doesn't automatically make you gay, although We do love him (just not that way.) Eh, pics maybe coming soon, If I get some actual good ones.
 2.
^ I like this one better
Is your hair parted over one eye for the reason I think it is?:smirk:
 3. Dragoon. Freaking sweet. Anyone else instantly think of Final Fantasy when you saw the title? Actually, a Dragoon wouldn't be a half bad fighter...
 4. I had no idea you were actually going to do this. Anyway: -Tetra (Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker) - She's all spunky and tomboyish, then she
turns into the sweet, demure Zelda, then she goes back to shooting Ganondorf with Light Arrows.
-Raine Sage (Tales of Symphonia) - Ruin Mode. 'Nuff said. -Miles Edgeworth (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney) - Sheesh, he'll try to tear you apart one minute, then he'll
team up with you to take down whatever psychopath is on the witness stand, then he'll angst about how horrible his childhood was.
-Linebeck (Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass)
"No treasure? I'm out!" "I'll grant you a wish." "Well what are we all standing around here for!?"
5.
Isn't this thread basically like...answered now?
No. There are still unanswered questions, like: -Who had access to the President's office between 5 and 9 P.M. yesterday? -What motive does the Butler have? -Who stole the Pink Panther? No, wait. That's something else. I'm sure the thread has SOME life in it, though.
 6. Yeah, sorry about that. I just get a little worked up every time I see the word "gore" coupled with *insert name of popular mainstream shonen anime with only moderate amounts of blood in it here.* For the record, there was ONE actual decapitation in all of one piece, it was handled quickly and conservatively, and the victim wasn't even human. I don't know if they kept it in the Anime, though. Sometimes they tone down the violence (among other things, such as apparent swastikas) when translating the art to the tv screen.
 7.
This comparison actually works against your point. :animeswea The Kenshin manga ran in Japan's Shounen Jump, and although I don't know what timeslot(s) the anime had, its average viewer household rating across its whole run was 12.2%, which is significantly higher than the numbers that One Piece is currently pulling. To me that makes it seem safe to conclude that the Kenshin anime must have had a favorable timeslot, one that would expose it to at least as many young people as One Piece and comparable series.
Oh, I'd better do more research, then. Still, there is MUCH WORSE gore and such in mainstream Japan. Most current popular Shonen is pretty tame over there, all things considered. We just assume that these shows aren't directed at children because our idiotic censorship groups don't let children's programming acknowledge the fact that people die sometimes. That concept has basically disappeared since around that episode of Sesame Street where Mr. Hooper died (they had to explain it because the actor died irl.) Sure, children may not need to be exposed to random depraved murders, but some things need to be understood. People die. It's always happened since a guy found a tree* and it's gonna keep happening until the Earth stops turning.I think kids should understand that some things happen that you can't do anything about. *Your beliefs may differ from mine. If so, just ignore this comment. I don't care.
 8.
I hate to break it to you bud but that's definitely not Nintendo's strategy at all. I'm sure they want to get as many Wii's out there as possible in order to make more money quicker. I was talking to my friend who works at Best Buy earlier, he was saying they got 60 Wiis in from Nintendo to sell and all of them were gone within an hour. 60 Wiis sold in one hour. That's one Wii a minute, my friend. It just really is a hot product.
I know, it's sarcasm. It's just a bit annoying that they're so hard to come by even when the gift season is over and done with for 6 months.
 9.
One Piece or Naruto, it's not unreasonable to cut out some of those so-called "bad influences" (gore, mature jokes, sexuality, what have you) and manage to preserve most of the plot.
Okay, one more time: Neither of these shows have gore. I don't know what you people are watching, but these are childen's shows. Even in Japan, it is not normal nor acceptable for a child to watch someone's innards combust. Blood is not gruesome. Blood happens every day. Scrape your elbow? Blood. You don't cough up kidneys on a regular basis. Cartoons are more violent in Japan because the people who make them are fairly certain that parents will actually pay attention to what their children are watching and tell them what is acceptable (this also applies to the sex jokes.) The Japanese culture reveres and protects children above almost all else. Americans are always in a hurry and I know of multiple irresponsible parents who are constantly publicized for being that way. In closing, read yourself some Rurouni Kenshin (more specifically, Seta Sojiro's backstory) and then tell me One Piece is gruesome. And the "America sucks" thing.. that be mah humor reflex actin' up.
 10. Sojiro47's and mine. (and Haku877's now that I think of it.)
I guess I can wrap this story up for you, since it also has to do with my username. Where Sojiro and I go to church, our little circle of friends have a little "tradition" of giving each other anime-related nicknames. You may be able to recognize Sojiro's name as Seta Sojiro from Rurouni Kenshin, whereas I go by Battosai when referring to Kenshin characters. My username comes from this, except with my favorite anime, One Piece. My character nickname for One Piece is Ace, Luffy's older brother and master of fire (Hence the "burner.") Sojiro goes by Sanji when referring to this. Just a bit of trivia for y'all!
And yes, to this day we're still the nerdiest of nerds.
 11.
One Piece, all terrible lumps of crap.
I shall breathe deeply now and overlook this horrible blasphemy... Yes, Kahn, for this lasting impression, your face has gained a permanent place of honor on the dartboard in my head.
I love Naruto as much as the next guy but Im tired of seeing 4 year olds going around here wearing bandanas with the leaf village symbol on them. At first, Im thinkin that wow...this anime is really impactful but then parents are completely clueless to the fact that their kids are watching an anime that has people getting theirs hearts punched out and heads knocked off.
Hey, just so we're on the same page, are you talking about the same Naruto that airs on Cartoon Network almost uncut every weekend? 'Cuz the gore you're talking about here... nonexistant. There's blood, but Naruto is literally a children's show in Japan. Children in Japan don't tend to witness decapitations every Saturday morning. Anyway, it depends on which market you look at. Japan has probably stayed pretty consistent with the Anime they release to the public. America, however, tends to do this thing called "censoring" because what is deemed acceptable behavior in Japan may not be so much here. In order to avoid bashing either country as a whole, I'm going to call this the "difference of cultures (americasucks)." Oddly enough, Shonen is slowing down a bit in Japan, it seems. SJ's "big three" (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece) are more or less the only smash hit franchises to garner enough attention to make it to America in a while.
 12.
What do you guys think that the hottest gift of the year was this year? Last year it was the Wii, I think. Just a question born of curiosity.
Probably still the Wii. As annoying as Nintendo's "Only release 3 a year 'til Christmastime" marketing strategy is, it's pretty effective. Hopefully they'll get more common this year.
 13.
Although, I did almost kill my sister at Ace's house, be we'll ignore that.....:animesigh
Eh, no big. We're still friends. Anyway, I was planning on using some of that sweet, sweet cash to pick up either Phoenix Wright 3 or anything else that catches my eye, but the bank closed before it occurred to me to cash that stupid check... There's always tomorrow, I guess.
 14.
Crud! I knew I forgot to put something on my list! Forget the official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle, with a compass in the stock. I want a Girlfriend.
She'll shoot your eye out, kid.
 15.
Hmm...All I asked for this year was a Gi for Karate, as my old one is getting small.
I need one, too. My old one's full of holes and I've been using a lightweight (which you are absolutely not allowed to test in.)
 16. Heh, I've gotten the
Phantom Sword
finally. The completion of that thing is basically the best cutscene ever.
"Link, hand me the Hourglass." *Link lifts it above his head, classic Zelda "Item Get!" theme begins to play, but stops abruptly as Oshus snatches it from him.*
Anyway, I think I'll slow my pace a little, since I've only had it about a day and I'm already practically done. I'll probably get some more spirit gems and find a
mermaid
or something.
 17. Okaaay, so it's Pokemon with trophies? Seems like more of a lame gimmick than anything else. Ah, well. I won't knock it till I've tried it.
 18.
- ace still hasn't got his present that i got him for him getting me nachoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo libre
W00T!!! Harvest Moon: Rune Factory! Thanks, songs! I also woke up this morning to a CD featuring the dulcet tones of Weird Al Yankovic. What can I say, I'm a fan!
 19. Ah, finally it is mine! This game is awesome! I've only completed 2 temples and I've already discovered that this game is made up of nothing but equal parts win, awesome, and pie. The puzzles aren't too hard so far, but the one where you're supposed to
close the DS
took me a good 5 minutes to figure out. I've died a few times, but I usually attribute that to the fact that I get really cocky when I play Zelda in general.
 20. From what I've seen of Super Sonic, you have free reign to fly around bashing people until you run out of... whatever it is. You just don't want to be caught hovering over a bottomless pit when it ends.
 21. Well, If the title doesn't explain it, here's the idea: What did you get for Christmas? Do you think it was a good year? What do you plan on doing with all that money? et cetera? As for me, I got the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS. So far, words can't describe how much win this game is made of. I should probably save that for the PH thread, though. I also got a shiny new electric razor, because my mom wants me to shave sometimes. I'm still waiting for one package to arrive, but after it does, depending on the contents, I'm going to go out and buy the third Phoenix Wright game. Overall, I'd say it was a good year, since I consider the Laptop I'm typing this on a very early Christmas present.
 22.
I am your doppelganger!
Crap. Time to conform to weeaboo stereotypes.
 23. My viewpoint? Here it is: I'm me. That's pretty individual, since I'm the only me I'm aware of.
 24. Hello, beautiful. Well, I already know I'm getting a DS game because of the package's shape. I've more or less been hinting at this for a while now, but I'll be fine if I don't get it. That's what Christmas money is for (well, that and Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations.) My DS is dearly loved by myself.
 25.
he's also kind of creapy about it. I also think the game makes you kind of creepy i was paranoid last night.
http://objection.mrdictionary.net/go.php?n=2353905 Anyway, yes, it's true. I got Ace Attorney not too long ago and finally beat the 5th case about 3 days ago. My opinion: Although the Touch Screen features are fun to mess around with, some of the case is far too confusing at times. For example, talking to the head detective in order to
get the lost item report
took me forever to figure out, and I only stumbled on that one by chance. It felt a little like Pirates 2 at one point, with the exception being Dead Man's Chest moves the plot along regardless of whether you know what is going on. I hope Apollo Justice does this stuff better than Rise from the Ashes did. Overall, though, excellent game. The characters in case 5 kept it from getting too stale.
