Writing A Freudian Trip into the Phases of my Imagination
Aberinkula posted a topic in Creative Works
I've spent the last half hour making poems. For some reason, very rarely now do I ever get true inspiration. And after my little spill in the Poetry Contest, I think it's about time I started pacing my inspiration instead of running with it too fast. Anyways, these are the first 3 products of my mindset at the moment. I like these too, and I think the names are a little silly. The title of the second poem, you'll get after you read it.
100
A Turnable Profit in the Shape of Shame Truly outdated and overrated. So, sum up the circles we turn around. But so far, I only count 3, when there's so many more. I know for a fact we're playing with fire. And I know the devil's gunna get burned. So stop mending the squares. It's time to drown. The water's getting warmer, and the blood is circulating. It's like a triangle, I swear. I try, I turn, I trade. It never seems to end So far I feel jaded, never persuaded. Oh no, my check has gone unfound. So break the rectangular table and count with me. I see hundreds of things I abhor. I'll quit spinning the circle, if I find someone to hire. I've tried so hard to obtain what I've earned. So I'll just use the change I found under the chairs. And spend my shame in the town. From Now on I Sleep in My Shorts Oh, we slide into vivid dreams, like we slide into our pants. So swiftly, yet we get caught in the zipper. So stuck on our nightmares; some day they'll get us. Dammit I say as I slip into the sleeper. Mechanical mindsets, look at the forms. I just want to awake, where I sleep in these dorms We forgot to set our alarm. But that's okay, these beasts do a lot more harm. Oh, we fade into our dreams. We become what we pretend to be. Its the mortal folly, one we know so dear. But let's just hope the machines can hear. Adorable creatures, look at their smiles. But don't' turn around on them. The suffering could last a while. As it is, we could be here forever. So next time we should set our alarms. 3 Dots Don't Look Like a Lifeguard Souls... drowning in what looks to be cherry kool aid. Halt... drinking this could be fatal. Filter... out the pain like it was never there. Fade... These waters aren't safe, but they never really were. Ah who cares, I'll go in for a dip anyways. Splash... can you hear that sound? Temptation... It will get us no where in this lake. Scout... the land seems too calm. Fade... These waters bear our ends, but we never really cared. Huh, why dare? It's my reflective pool. Dead souls swim, unprotected. Splash into temptation, oh how I envy the dead.
100
BTW, I aligned the third poem to the left so the words with '...' continue with the longer line after. It was tthe single words were being drowned in the sentences, I thought it was a nice effect that went along with the story. -
What time do you usually go to sleep at?
Aberinkula replied to Ellerby's topic in General Discussion
I go to bed around 12 am before school. If I sleep anytime earlier, I end up not being able to concentrate at school, which seems odd, but it's true. Plus, if I went to bed at ten, I'd end up, not being able to sleep. Days like this during Sprink Break, I stay up till 1, 2, 3 and even 4. And very rarely 5. And to make up sleep I take a nap when I get home from school, or I take a nap around 3 pm. -
Thanks guys for the info. BTW 8Bit, I'm a Metallica kid, I grew up on that stuff while my brother was around. Same with Megadeth and Iron Maiden, but no so much of the latter. And as for Ashes, I have some Converge on a site, and in school I usually listen to that, so I'll check them out even more, same with the others you listed.

Well the reason OB is so close is because it has a very small member base, mostly because a lot of people who sign up, don't bother to come back. Which I think is ironic being that OB is the sister to a VERY popular anime website. Anyways, because of the small amount of 'usual' members, it's easier to get acquainted with everyone. And with the emphasis of quality, it's easier to learn about people, imo. Sometimes this place gets boring, but thats no big deal cause then, out of the blue, something awesome happens. So enjoy your stay on OB. That's all I can really give you help with lol.

Panache it would definitely be in your best interest to listen to the new single NOW! It's pure sweetness imo.

And damn I forgot two other important people. Keyblade Wielder (Riku now) and Tekkaman. Two very good freinds. So sorry KW for forgetting you, so sorry! You're always fun to talk to, during the time as SplitKeyblader and FH when I had my downs you made me smile, same with Tekkaman too. You both were awesome. And I feel soooooooooo SOOOOOOOOOOO sorry for ruining your RPG earlier that year, I can never get over it. And not to mention your artistic abilities, WHOA! Plus you're a very beautiful girl. Btw, since when are you and WM married? That makes you like, a sister is law lol.

OMFG! OB inside joke comin! WM's name is Hunter and people call me Rick. RICK HUNTER?! OMG...
I'd wonder what happened but I don't think I'd be up night after night tearing my hair out wondering what's going on. I've been having a new idea for an RPG spinning in my mind for a while. It's set 200 years from the year 2012 (yeah, you should know what I mean). And 170 years after 2012, there was a great war. But due to the world ending in 2012, the planet has become a desert. Now the whole world runs on steam power and the old junk. But what will be weird about this RP is that there will be mystical weapons. That doesn't seem weird at first. But if anyone has seen Fooly Cooly or read FLCL you'd know that they use, guitars as weapons. So that will be the big weapon in this RPG, guitars. From regular, to bass, to acoustic guitars. Even cello's and such can be used. And for magic and special techniques, songs and chords can be played on the instruments to unleash them. The nature of the RPG will be serious of coarse, but I also want it to be a little light-hearted and funny to ease the tension of the story. As for the story it's simple, the army that lost the war is building up and it's up to the main characters (us if you haven't figured that out) to save the world. And part of the inspiration for this RP will come from the game God Hand. And yes, there will eb monsters. And yes, there will be blood. I've already got a big idea for the names of places and people, as well as machines and such, so this idea is pretty much figured out except for the minor details. But for now, I love what I have, and I'd love to have you guys help elaborate ideas, as well as give your opinion. PS, cookies to whoever gets the movie reference first!

As for a final note, Allamorph, as a pacifist I of course want to question the purpose of wars and military. Verbal debate has nothing to do with violence - unless it deters into insults, which I'm glad we've mostly steered away from. So really, I'm not looking for a "fight".
Oh come on Sandy, wouldn't a fight start even more discussion? :p It's funny you should mention verbal debates having nothing to do with violance. A few words have caused murder, and even a simple sentence can cause a whole war. And oddly enough, 'war' leads us back to the army... huh :animestun
I have also met plenty of immature youngster - many of which haven't even gone to the army yet - who think I'm a coward and a wussy for choosing the 13-months civilian work service over going to the army. Does that mean I believe all who support army are like that? Again, Beth, no.
Well say hello to a very immature youngster, just ask anyone in this thread. I don't think you're a coward for choosing something else over the army. In fact choosing something else has it's benefits for the good will of the locals and such. And I bet that if you asked all of those 'immature youngsters' if they'd join the army, some of them will probably say 'no.'
You're still hung up on the idea that it has to be different or opposing for it to be a discussion and that's just not true.
Quite true! Ideas being different don't have to be present to 'stir a discussion.' Mostly because, sometimes that causes... duh duh duhhhn... debates. And debates can turn into disputes, and disputes can turn into violance, and a small speck of violance can cause of war. This thread is like a freakin' minature '6 Degrees' game in how arguing over discusion and debating can cause war.

Writing indifference vs. SunfallE [Poetry Contest]
Aberinkula replied to Sabrina's topic in Creative Works
I know it's Sabrina's rules, I read them all before I made my poem. But it's my vote so I'm using my experience to help form my opinion. :p It may be someone elses rules, but I'm not forcing her to change them, but it's still how I'm basing my vote, from what I've learned. May seem foolish, dumb and immature, but that's the way I think and I"m sticking to it. -
My vote goes to Treble, the first stanza was very strong, and while the last stanza was small and seemingly weak, it was a simple end. And simple is what ruled over these two poems. As for 8Bit's poem, I liked it, but it just wasn't as good. EDIT: Grand just didn't fit, sorry.

Writing indifference vs. SunfallE [Poetry Contest]
Aberinkula replied to Sabrina's topic in Creative Works
Silly, Sabrina already explained that only two of the lines in each section had to rhyme. So some of the lines aren't suppose to. :p
Quite the contrary my dear Indi. Each stanza has four lines, and two of them rhyme with each other. By that I mean that two lines rhyme and the other two rhyme. AABB, ABAB, ABBA and AAAA are those patterns. :p:p DOUBLE! My music teacher last year taught us the types of poems, haiku, quatrain. And he said for quatrain's the lines have to rhyme in those 4 patterns. So I'm only going by what I've learned from him. -
Writing Aaryanna_Mom vs. Darren [Poetry Contest]
Aberinkula replied to Sabrina's topic in Creative Works
I felt kind of awkward after having read A_M's poem. It was the best of the two in terms of emotion. A few words didn't rhyme when I read them, but that's no big deal. I just felt a little awkward cause of the happiness and glee that the poem expresses, it sort of feels like a child's poem. Darren's was very simple, which was nice but it was meh for me. It just didn't work out for me like A_M's did and to be honest it was boring. So my vote goes to Aaryanna_Mom. -
Writing indifference vs. SunfallE [Poetry Contest]
Aberinkula replied to Sabrina's topic in Creative Works
Indi, some of your words don't rhyme with other ones. The words 'grasp', 'ground' and 'sure' didn't rhyme with any other line... unless I just can't see the rhyme.>_> But it was stilll a good poem. SunfallE, the poem was well done, very artistic and it was great. But for some reason it doesn't hold that same experience the second time. The first time was good, the second time was like seeing a move 50 times in one day, meh. Unlike Indi's which held the same grace the second time around. But I like your poem nonetheless. ...God it's very hard to decide. But my vote will have to go with Indi, despite her rhyme issues. -
Writing Allamorph vs. Gavin [Poetry Contest]
Aberinkula replied to Sabrina's topic in Creative Works
Gavin, I really enjoyed the feel of your poem. The first stanza came off with a tad of eeriness, imo that set the mood for the poem. However, despite what I enjoyed, the second stanza just didn't quite feed my taste, so thats what's going to make an impact on the vote. Allamorph, I liked how your first line and last of the poem were the same, it gave it an odd feeling of nostalgia. If Gavin's second stanza was better, I would have voted for him. But my vote goes to Allamorph. Well done, both of you. EDIT: Sorry Gav, but you would probably have been [strike]murdered in a clash of fire and rage[/strike] honorably defeated by Indi's greatness :p -
Writing Aaryanna vs. Aberinkula [Poetry Contest]
Aberinkula replied to Sabrina's topic in Creative Works
@ Darren: Thanks man, I'm glad you saw what you saw in my poem. @ Allamorph: Damn it all! And I used Wordpad this time too. Almost errorless, I EVEN PROOFREAD! *Smashes things* -
Writing Aaryanna vs. Aberinkula [Poetry Contest]
Aberinkula replied to Sabrina's topic in Creative Works
You guys don't need to call me Aberinkula, just Aber, or the ol' Prem works fine. :animeswea Thanks Treble & Aaryanna, even though my poem is to big. Personally I think these Quatrains should have short lines, I think my problem was that I was over passionate with my poem, it had nothing to do with having the best one. And if I could vote/was someone other than me, I'd vote for Aaryanna too, short, simple and very whimsical imo. @ 8Bit: Wait, ForgotteÑ-HerÖ? Wha? -
Request Kingdom Hearts: Riku Banner/Avatar

Thanks a bunch. And I think I'll just take the banner. As to how I will obtain it, all I need to do is go to 'reply to poster and copy~paste the link. Can't wait to see how the set comes out! -
Request Kingdom Hearts: Riku Banner/Avatar
Aberinkula replied to Aberinkula's topic in Creative Works
Thanks for comming up to take the request KW... ur Riku. I'd love to have a banner created by you. And if it's alright can I use one of those banners until you have the set finished so I have something as a little filler? Lotsa thanks and love to you. -
Writing Aaryanna vs. Aberinkula [Poetry Contest]
Aberinkula replied to Sabrina's topic in Creative Works
Yeah, actually I was just really inspired, I had a flood of emotions so I went from there. And this would be better as a different kind of poem rather than a cuatrain. As for putting that much effort into my fiction: hell yeah it would help. -
One word can describe Between the Buried and Me... awesomenwssorgasmofsweetmetalcorepower. I bought the CD Colors today at Wal Mart, and I am indeed impressed by this band. The songs Prequel to the Sequel and White Walls, as well as Foam Born B: The Decade of Statues are puirely epic tracks. Next time I'm at Wal Mart I'm getting Alaska.

Most of it is screamo, and it's really good. All Shall Perish, very good. And CTTS is phenomenal! Makes me glad I'm getting back into hardcore/screamo. Coheed and Cambria, Breaking Benjamin and Avenged Sevenfold are still some of my absolute favs. Fair to Midland is also another addiction of mine. The middle of the list is dominated by the hardcore and screamo crew, which the bands I love are really worthwhile. I mean All Shall Perish and Heven Shall Burn are really good. And the members of HSB are vegens, and they aren't anti-christ so don't take their band name wrong. As for The Acacia Strain, they're alright, buit good enough for me. My favorite In Flames song is The Quiet Place, a very touching and still great song. And as for Cattle Decapitation, they're grindcore, so I don't recomend them to anyone who doens't like grind. In fact, they aren't very lovable period, just look at their album covers. The songs are very short, so I'm not going to buy any of their albums. But they are really good to listen to every now and than. I might update this alter, but that's the jist of it. EDIT: Oh shnikies, I forgot a couple of bands! EDIT 2: My list is better than your list cause I added my favorite songs under the band names :p
